A Song In October
Clouds gather, treetops toss and sway;
But pour us wine, an old one!
That we may turn this dreary day
To golden; yes, to golden!
What if the storm outside destroy
Alike Christian and heathen?
Nature must sweep the old away
To bring on a new season.
What if some aching dread we feel?
Lift glasses, all, and ring them!
True hearts, we know, will never quail
Whatever fortune brings them!
Clouds gather, treetops toss and sway;
But pour us wine, an old one!
That we may turn this dreary day
To golden, yes, to golden!
Autumn has come, but never fear,
Wait but a little while yet,
Spring will be here, the skies will clear,
And fields stand deep in violets.
The heavenly blue of fresh new days
Oh, friend, you must employ them
Before they pass away. Be brave!
Enjoy them; oh, enjoy them!

Roses In Madrid
Roses, Senors, roses!
Love is subtly hid
In the fragrant roses,
Blown in gay Madrid.
Roses, Senors, roses!
Look, look, look, and see
Love hanging in the roses,
Like a golden bee!
Ha! ha! shake the roses--
Hold a palm below;
Shake him from the roses,
Catch the vagrant so!
High I toss the roses
From my brown palm up;
Like the wine that bubbles
From a golden cup.
Catch the roses, Senors,
Light on finger tips;
He who buys red roses,
Dreams of crimson lips!
Tinkle! my fresh roses,
With the rare dews wet;
Clink! my crisp, red roses,
Like a castanet!
Roses, Senors, roses,
Come, Hidalgo, buy!
Proudly wait my roses
For thy rose's eye
Be thy rose as stately
As a pacing deer;
Worthy are my roses
To burn behind her ear.
Ha I ha! I can see thee,
Where the fountains foam,
Twining my red roses
In her golden comb!
Roses, Donnas, roses,
None so fresh as mine,
Pluck'd at rose of morning
By our Lady's shrine.
Those that first I gather'd
Laid I at her feet,
That is why my roses
Still are fresh and sweet.
Roses, Donnas, roses!
Roses waxen fair!
Acolytes my roses,
Censing ladies' pray'r!
Roses, roses, roses!
Hear the tawny bull
Thund'ring in the circus--
Buy your arms full.
Roses by the dozen!
Roses by the score!
Pelt the victor with them--
Bull or Toreador!

Golden Loom
Smoky autumn night, stars up in the sky,
I see the sailin boats across the bay go by.
Eucalyptus trees hang above the street
And then I turn my head, for youre approachin me.
Moonlight on the water, fishermans daughter, floatin in to my room
With a golden loom.
First we wash our feet near the immortal shrine
And then our shadows meet and then we drink the wine.
I see the hungry clouds up above your face
And then the tears roll down, what a bitter taste.
And then you drift away on a summers day where the wildflowers bloom
With your golden loom.
I walk across the bridge in the dismal light
Where all the cars are stripped between the gates of night.
I see the trembling lion with the lotus flower tail
And then I kiss your lips as I lift your veil.
But youre gone and then all I seem to recall is the smell of perfume
And your golden loom.

The Moutain Cloud
Clouds gather, the monkeys gawk over the trees
With fright, cover their babies on bellies
A lone bird flaps its wings away to nest
The dark clouds gather over the mountain
People point with glee, the drought be would over
Trees sway and dance, the storm so strong
Lightening spits fire with golden streaks
Patter patter, patter patter, heaven gates open
Rivers flow with gusto, farmers sing with passion
As monkeys curse, the birds sleep with glee.

Please Reinstate Me Amongst Common Humanity
Oh, bring back my happiness
based on golden sunshine
green and yellow leaves
bathed in a golden light
against a beautiful
clear blue sky – take away
the gnawing fear
that these inabilities
you identified – to
manage a home
tidy and decorate,
makes me less
than a human being,
takes away my right
to be happy and content
in the golden autumn sunshine,
please reinstate me
amongst common
humanity…

Golden Autumn Day
Well I heard the bells ringing, I was thinking about winning
In this God forsaken place
When my confidence was well, then I tripped and I felt
Right flat on my face
Now Im standing erect, and I feel like coming back
And the sun is shining gold
Put a smile on my face, get back in the human race
And get on with the show
And Im taking in the indian summer
And Im soaking it up in my mind
And Im pretending that its paradise
On a golden autumn day, on a golden autumn day
On a golden autumn day, an a golden autumn day
In the wee midnight hour I was parking my car
In this dimly lit town,
I was attacked by two thugs, who took me for a mug
And shoved me down on the ground
And they pulled out a knife, and I fought my way up
As they scarpered from the scene
Well this is no new york street, and theres no bobby on the beat
And things aint just what they seem
And Im taking in the indian summer
And Im soaking it up in my mind
And Im pretending that its paradise
On a golden autumn day, on a golden autumn day
On a golden autumn day, an a golden autumn day
Who would think this could happen in a city like this
Among blakes green and pleasant hills,
And we must remember as we go through september
Among these dark satanic mills
If theres such a thing as justice I could take them out and flog them
In the nearest green field
And it might be a lesson to the bleeders of the system
In this whole society
And Im taking in the indian summer
And Im soaking it up in my mind
And Im pretending like its paradise
On a golden autumn day, on a golden autumn day
On a golden autumn day, on a golden autumn day, golden autumn day ...

Man With The Golden Gun
The man
With the golden gun
Is waiting
Somewhere
Out there
For you
But you'll never see him
He'll be looking for you
Demand
For the golden gun
It's high priced
Precise
And true
But you'll never see him
He'll be looking for you
The man with the golden
Gun in his pocket, Oh, oh
The man with the golden
Gun in his case, Oh, oh
The man with the golden
Gun in your face
But you'll never see him
He'll be looking for you
You better believe
He'll be looking for you
He-e-e-e-e-e's, The man with the golden
Gun in his pocket
The man with the golden
Gun in his case
The man with the golden
Gun in his pocket
The man with the golden
Gun in your face
But you'll never see him
He'll be looking for you
You better believe
He'll be looking for yo-ou
He-e-e-e-e-e's, The man with the golden
Gun in his pocket
The man with the golden
Gun in his case
The man with the golden
Gun in his pocket
The man with the golden

The man with the go-o-olden
Gun in his pocket

Early Summer
’Tis the early summer season, when the skies are clear and blue;
When wide warm fields are glad with corn as green as ever grew,
And upland growths of wattles engolden all the view.
Oh! Is there conscious joyance in that heven so clearly blue?
And is it a felt happiness that thus comes beating through
Great nature’s mother heart, when the golden year is new?
When the woods are whitened over by the jolly cockatoo,
And swarm with birds as beautiful as ever gladdened through
The shining hours of time when the golden year was new?

The Merchant
Imagine, mother, that you are to stay at home and I am to travel
into strange lands.
Imagine that my boat is ready at the landing fully laden.
Now think well, mother, before you say what I shall bring for
you when I come back.
Mother, do you want heaps and heaps of gold?
There, by the banks of golden streams, fields are full of
golden harvest.
And in the shade of the forest path the golden champ flower
drop on the ground.
I will gather them all for you in many hundred baskets.
Mother, do you want pearls big as the raindrops of autumn?
I shall cross to the pearl island shore.
There in the early morning light pearls tremble on the meadow
flowers, pearls drop on the grass, and pearls are scattered on the
sand in spray by the wild sea-waves.
My brother shall have a pair of horses with wings to fly among
the clouds.
For father I shall bring a magic pen that, without his
knowing, will write of itself.
For you, mother, I must have the casket and jewel that cost
seven kings their kingdom.

Grodek
At evening the autumn woodlands ring
With deadly weapons. Over the golden plains
And lakes of blue, the sun
More darkly rolls. The night surrounds
Warriors dying and the wild lament
Of their fragmented mouths.
Yet silently there gather in the willow combe
Red clouds inhabited by an angry god,
Shed blood, and the chill of the moon.
All roads lead to black decay.
Under golden branching of the night and stars
A sister's shadow sways through the still grove
To greet the heroes' spirits, the bloodied heads.
And softly in the reeds Autumn's dark flutes resound.
O prouder mourning! - You brazen altars,
The spirit's hot flame is fed now by a tremendous pain:
The grandsons, unborn.

Winter Thoughts
As Autumn leaves and Winter begins,
So does the color of autumn to chilled winter,
For the golden browns and amber in shades,
Turn to grey clouds and ice chills,
Of snowy hills where blankets of snow begins and show,
With the season greetings and family celebrations,
Tis no place for the lonely or the homeless persons,
Winter and its isolation,
Is not kind to the exposure of the unsheltered,
For with the weather also comes the sheltering,
For peoples gather indoors and outdoors is its outcasts,
Winter brings good cheer and tidings,
It also brings out the cold and reality,
For in summer and Autumn,
Where nature trails and outdoor meets,
The winter shows who has what and who has not,
By seeing the isolated alone and the outcasts left out in the cold,
It shows the warmth of open fires and seasonal greetings,
Of lavish homes and homely places,
All in good cheer and spirits in celebration,
Yet, winter will show,
The lost and the outcast,
Of no fixed abode or family to gather with,
Looking on yet,
Not apart of or with any to gather with,
Its winter when we reflex and ponder,
Of the year near ending and what we have acheived,
Or, what we have neglected or put off again,
Or what we have losted or had to indure,
Winter reflections can bring sorrow and pain,
Or laughter with good gains,
With the gains means we all party and laugh,
While the sorrow and pain,
Is in quiet and shadowed,
Like the lost and forgotten of yesterday,
Gone like the leaves of Autumn,
Decayed and blown away,
In the chill winds of the winter,
Covered by a blanket,
Of white,
That covers it all.

Dont Let The Moment Pass
Lead vocal: marti webb
This golden day will be mine
For every moment in time
If time should lose her way
A symphony in the night
Of stars that dance in the light
And music far away
They say that love is but a dance
Dont let the music fade away
Dont let the moment pass
Without reason or rhyme
The sweet bouquet of the wine
Will vanish in the air
The innocence of the rose
She leaves where she goes
For all the world to share
Some days when clouds are drifting by
I open my eyes and watch them go
And wonder where they fly
Some nights orion runs too fast
I look to the stars as if to say
Dont let the moment pass
But soon a golden age is past
Just when it seemed that miracles
Where not too much to ask
And though the world may turn too fast
If it should seem like paradise
Dont let the moment pass

The Golden Wedding Of Sterling And Sarah Lanier, September 27, 1868.
By the Eldest Grandson.
A rainbow span of fifty years,
Painted upon a cloud of tears,
In blue for hopes and red for fears,
Finds end in a golden hour to-day.
Ah, YOU to our childhood the legend told,
'At the end of the rainbow lies the gold,'
And now in our thrilling hearts we hold
The gold that never will pass away.
Gold crushed from the quartz of a crystal life,
Gold hammered with blows of human strife,
Gold burnt in the love of man and wife,
Till it is pure as the very flame:
Gold that the miser will not have,
Gold that is good beyond the grave,
Gold that the patient and the brave
Amass, neglecting praise and blame.
O golden hour that caps the time
Since, heart to heart like rhyme to rhyme,
You stood and listened to the chime
Of inner bells by spirits rung,
That tinkled many a secret sweet
Concerning how two souls should meet,
And whispered of Time's flying feet
With a most piquant silver tongue.
O golden day, -- a golden crown
For the kingly heads that bowed not down
To win a smile or 'scape a frown,
Except the smile and frown of Heaven!
Dear heads, still dark with raven hair;
Dear hearts, still white in spite of care;
Dear eyes, still black and bright and fair
As any eyes to mortals given!
Old parents of a restless race,
You miss full many a bonny face
That would have smiled a filial grace
Around your Golden Wedding wine.
But God is good and God is great.
His will be done, if soon or late.
Your dead stand happy in yon Gate
And call you blessed while they shine.
So, drop the tear and dry the eyes.
Your rainbow glitters in the skies.
Here's golden wine: young, old, arise:
With cups as full as our souls, we say:
'Two Hearts, that wrought with smiles through tears
This rainbow span of fifty years,
Behold how true, true love appears
True gold for your Golden Wedding day!'

Let me feel the rapture of ecstasy
Let me feel the rapture of ecstasy
Yes, ecstasy, oh sweet, ecstasy
Singing in the night...
Singing in the light...
Mystical, adventure
Mystical, Mountain
Mystical, thunder
Mystical, nature
Oh, toss in the winter
Reign in the spring...
And pass out the summer
Autumn wears a golden ring
But, oh I’ve got a higher delight
When love is in its twilight...
Your world is only a cruel kind of starlight
Mine is simply an ecstasy out of sight.

Songs Of The Sky
In a sky of layered clouds,
dawn becomes a rainbow,
moving through the spectrum
toward the day.
In a sky of always blue,
no clouds ride the wind:
the sun burns brightly,
high and hot and long.
In a sky of may grays,
clouds crash, explode and roar;
rain-filled winds sweep across the prairie.
In a sky of many blues,
clouds dance on the wind;
and endless and quixotic
Rohrschach test.
In a sky of always gray,
no clouds seem to move;
overcast blots out imagination.
In a sky of cold, cold blue,
gray clouds scrape the treetops;
harbingers of winter storms to come.
Beneath a sky of darkening gray,
the prairie grasses rustle
on the small, forgotten farms
of what could've been
and was.
In a sky of mottled gray,
cold rains fall, now and then;
the seasons struggle
for control of April.
In a sky of broken gray,
cold winds precede the rains;
and before long
the darkened clouds re-gather.
In a sky as clear as glass,
and blue from top to bottom,
sultry days of August
slowly drift into September.
In a twi-lit noon-time sky,
this annular eclipse
leaves us just a
ring around the moon.
In a sky of many clouds,
sunset's an inferno;
ablaze, in this,
my father's final twilight.
In a sky that slowly burns,
the clouds of fire fade
and leave a darker beauty
to hold the night.

Passing Through
Wet blades in the shade of an old house
Scatter as a mouse shatters the dew,
On this morning as i pass through.
A city asleep beneath a deep eastern ray
Is herlded from slumber by a trumpeting jay,
Who christens the day anew,
On this morning as i pass through.
Golden hair and a rare trace of green
Can be seen, transfigured in the treetops
By autumn’s brush as a thrush scampers from view,
On this morning as i pass through.
Dawn’s drowsiness is shaken as a baby awakens
To the city’s soft ceiling of blue,
On this morning as i pass through.

Nature Rejoice
Nature rejoice,
for spring is here
Flowers burst into bloom
everywhere
Bright colored daffodils appear
Nature rejoice,
for spring is here
Nature sing,
for summer has come
Where birds and bees
chirp and hum
Along sandy beaches,
children run
Nature sing, for summer has come
Nature celebrate,
autumn is here to please
Where golden leaves fall from trees
And dance and sway in
the cool breeze
Nature celebrate,
autumn is here to please
Nature be happy,
winter has brought
The season of exciting
downhill sport
Icy crystals hang from our fort
Nature celebrate,
Winter has brought

In Hellbrun
Once more following the blue grief of the evening
Down the hill, to the springtime fishpond—
As if the shadows of those dead for a long time were
hovering above,
The shadows of church dignitaries, of noble ladies—
Their flowers bloom so soon, the earnest violets
In the earth at evening, and the clear water washes
From the blue spring. The oaks turn green
In such a ghostly way over the forgotten footsteps
of the dead
The golden clouds over the fishpond.

South Of Eden
1) nowhere to go on this hot afternoon turn on the fan lay down in my room
I cant believe in this town Im still here
No lover in sight, the mirage disapppears
Turn down the misic turn down the bed
Cause the drink I had this morning, went straight to my head, and I feel like a dream
Chorus -
Baby Im a real steal half price looking for a deal ?
Im golden all around, golden all around
2) in the middle of infinity in the heart of your eyes
I see 100 angels living 100 lives
In the dark of the night when youre alone in your bed
Do you ever think of me, am I a ghost in your head
Chorus -
Cause...baby
Golden all around golden all around-]
Bridge - round, all around, all around
3) found a park in the middle of town flat on my back no one around
The sky grew dark and the sun disappeared and down came rain of sweet lovers tears
Hitched a ride south of eden with a dog dusty and beaten
Speed so fast spinning in my head, and he turned to me and said...
Chorus -
...he said, baby Im a real steal
Half price looking for a deal
Im golden all around, golden all around...2x
Golden all around
Golden all around

Hey, Hey, When My Golden Bird Fails
When my golden bird fails.
Hail oh hail.
The storms coming in.
Tear down the sail.
There so frail.
Dreams turn into dust before your eyes.
You must compromise.
Between heaven and hell.
Listen I think I hear church bells.
But hey hey.
When my golden bird fails.
There will be more deals.
Still I will prevail.
The thoughts in my head have gotten stale.
I think I need to steal.
Oh the adrenaline I feel.
I'm on my knees.
I stand then kneel.
As if there might be something of a higher power out there.
But I shall not compare.
I wear soul on the outside never looking in.
But hey hey.
When my golden bird fails.
I shall exhale.
I shall come out of my shell.
Show you my power.
It's my dying hour.
But my mind has goes sour.
Tweak it a little.
Take another pill.
So you don't lye awake for goodness sake.
All when my golden bird fails.
All all all when
but hey hey
when my golden bird fails.

The Golden Year!
When piped the love-warm throstle shrill,
And all the air was laden
With scent of dew and daffodil,
I saw a youth and maiden,
Whose colour, Spring-like, came and fled,
'Mong purple copses straying,
While birchen tassels overhead
Like marriage-bells kept swaying;
Filled with that joy that lingers still,
Which Eve brought out of Aiden,-
With scent of dew and daffodil
When all the air was laden.
When primrose banks turn pale and fade,
And meads wax deep and golden,
And in lush dale and laughing glade
Summer's gay Court is holden,
Them, nestling close, again I saw,
Affianced girl and lover,
She looking up with eyes of awe
To burning gaze above her;
Playing anew the part oft played,
Sung by the poets olden,-
When primrose banks turn pale and fade,
And meads wax deep and golden.
When autumn woods began to glow,
And autumn sprays to shiver,
Once more I saw them walking slow,
By sedgy-rustling river.
The season's flush was on her cheek,
The season's sadness o'er him:
He stroked her hand, and bade her speak
Of all the love she bore him.
That only made her tears to flow,
And chill his heart to quiver,-
While autumn woods began to glow,
And autumn sprays to shiver.
When winter fields stretched stiff and stark,
And wintry winds shrilled eerie,
I saw him creep, alone, at dark,
Into the churchyard dreary.
He laid him down against the stone,
'Neath which she aye lay sleeping,
Kissed its cold face with many a moan,
Then loudly fell a-weeping:
``Oh! let me in from lonely cark,
Or come thou back, my dearie!''-
But the wintry fields stretched stiff and stark,
And the wintry winds shrilled eerie!
