Weeping Girl

Your tears do not become your eyes
Would my guitar weep in their stead
To drench and drown a shade that tries,
And charm a smile when woe has fled,
The fingers of my trembling hands
Would seethe in soothing sarabands.

The Boy With His Guitar

Putting his little fingers,
on the strings of his guitar,
a serene boy looked to the sky,
pointed his eyes to stars,
while the night growing in dreams,
he brought his art to extremes,
and notes began floating to the heavens,
the empty silence filled all,
with sweet rhythm of his thought,
and dew drops coming down like mists,
and musk of heavens,
soothing around,
he paused for a while,
and told me with a smile,
my mother is living with stars,
she loves my guitars,
when i play my guitar,
she makes tears of dew,
i see her in colors and hue.

Mother-The Eternal Goddess

None can take the place of Mom
That loving and fond hands
That very soothing and that very calm,
That very love of feeding
That very care full of charm,
She knows your heart
She knows your feelings
She reads your emotions
And all mutual dealing.
She is the Goddess
The sole Eternal
A shade of comfort
Is the love matrnal;
When you've a bruished heart
She is the doctor
She is the balm
When you have a pining brain
She is the peace
She is the calm;
She holds your fingers
To help you walk
She keeps you guiding
And helps you stand upon the rock;
I love you mom
I miss you a lot
Mom keep your fond hands
Upon my head
Give me comfort Mom
Of your soothing lap
Keep me forever
Close to your heart
Love you mom
I love you a lot!
I miss you Mom
I miss you a lot!

It brings a tear, Into my eyes, When I begin, To realize, I've cried so much, Since you've been gone, I guess I'm drowning in my own tears, I sit and cry, Just like a child My pouring tears Are runnin' wild If you don't think You'll be home soon I guess I'll drown in my own tears I know it's true Into each life Some rain, rain must pour I'm so blue Here without you It keeps raining More and more Why don't you Come on home Oh yes so I won't Be all alone If you don't think You'll be home soon I guess I'll (drown in my own tears) Ooh, don't let me (drown in my own tears) When I'm in trouble, baby (drown in my own tears) Oh, yeah, baby don't let me (drown in my own tears) I guess I'll drown in my own tears Oh, mmmmm

A Nation In Tears

Beloved, weep and hold back nothing
Cry and wipe away no tears
For this will stand!
In the times tested by the present
And never fades from the memories of history

Weep, beloved weep
Smile not when the soul grieves
For the hour comes
When you smile, the fruit of tears
That sprouts out of emotions poured

Therefore, cry oh dear Uganda!
Remember the past glory,
And focus on the coming salvation
But you must still cry
And your rival will know!

When truth awakes, it will listen
And the eyes of justice will see
The heart of destiny will prevail
And the soul of reality will dawn
On a nation in tears

I Dreamed.... (Hands)

i dreamed last night...
and all i could see were hands.
sometimes hard and calloused,
sometimes soft and feminine.
skilled hands, laborer's hands,
loving hands, nurturing hands....
fingers digging in the dirt,
fingers holding a pen.
fingers playing a piano,
fingers unbuttoning blouses.

hands extended, hands gripping the rope,
hands holding the shovel,
hands covered with resin.
hands folded in prayer,
hands balled into fists.
hands stuffed in empty pockets.
hands that define both history,
and destiny!

hands scarred and bruised,
hands covered with age spots.
hands that speak many languages.
hands that know mistakes, and failures.
hands that built fires,
hands that put fires out!
hands that wiped away tears,
that picked up trash,
and revealed souls....

whose hands?
my hands, your hands?
god's hands?
does it really matter?
hands engaged and involved,
in the very act of living!

A Son Was Born To A Poor Peasant

A son was born to a poor peasant.
A foul old woman stepped inside
The hut, with trembling bony fingers
Clawing her tangled locks aside.

And when the midwife wasn't looking,
Across towards that babe she reached.
And with her gnarled, misshapen fingers
His cheek she very lightly touched.

Mumbling weird words and slowly tapping
Her crooked stick, she went away.
Nobody knew what charm she'd woven,
And so the years went duly by -

The secret spell came to fulfilment:
In life, much sorrow came to him
But happiness, and joy, and true love
Fled the dark sign upon the skin.

Weep No More

Mary, don't you weep no more
Mary, don't you weep no more
'Cuz, I got your letter today
Pack my bags and I'm on my way
So, don't you weep no more
Don't you weep no more
Dry your eyes
Don't you shed no tears
The sun is risin'
So, put away your fears
Cuz, I know I once done you wrong
I want to say I'm sorry
And I'm comin' back home
So, don't you weep no more
Don' t you weep no more
I hear your voice in the wind
And I feel your tears in the rain
Shadows of night are falling
Can't you hear me call your name
I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home
So, don't you weep
Don't you weep
Don't you weep
Don't you weep no more

The Latest Word From You

oh yes, i agree,
when one gets too much love
when one gives more than too much of that love,
one gets crazy
one gets to do all the crazy things
splitting hairs
spreading legs
open arms
narrow mind
blind eyes
traveling fingers
wet lips
silent teeth
trembling heart
ballet of emotions
unbalanced arms
body no longer in
symphony with
the soul

a trip
you trip and fall and
then what?

tears and tears
and sobs and gritting tooth
after so much glory
comes the death
and then wait
comes along what we need most
the redemption
of what died
the moving on
of what wants to cease and stop
and annihilate

buds and flowers again
silent summer
soothing breeze
whispering winds
to love again
without looking at the eyes of regrets

Vacant Chair

I looked next to me today and saw you were gone
Just a quick glance just enough to see that you weren’t there
Just enough to hesitate and weep
We’ll never see your face or hear your voice again
We’ll never hear your gentle fingers strumming your guitar
We’ll never see you smile while sitting in your chair that now stands vacant and empty

I know now that you’re not gone
You’re standing right beside me as I live and love and learn
You’re up in the heavens now beside your father looking down on those you left behind, wishing for the moment we can all be happy again just so you can see us smile.

The Murder Of Shade

The hewn tree, tall, thick and green,
Casting soothing shade, clear and clean,
Fell flat with the thumping, choking sound,
Prostrate ravaging, pillaging the ground.
It bewailed, it bemoaned and it did weep,
“How shade is murdered in valleys deep! ”

Day Time Friends

D A Y T I M E F R I E N D S ( Kenny Rogers )
=============================
(Guitar)
And he'll tell her - He's working late again
But she knows to well there's something goin' on.
She's been neglected - and she needs a friend
So her trembling fingers dial the telephone.
And Lord, it hurts her - doin' this again
He's the best friend that her husband ever knew.
When she's lonely - he's more than just a friend
He's the one she longs her body to.
Daytime friends and nighttime lovers -
Hoping no one else discovers
Where they go - What they do -
In their secret hideaway
Daytime friends and nighttime lovers -
They don't want to hurt the others
So they love - In the nighttime -
And shake hands in the light of day.
(Guitar)
And when it's over - there's no peace of mind
Just a longin' for the way things should have been.
And she wonders - Why some men never find
That a woman needs a lover and a friend.
Daytime friends and nighttime lovers ...
(Guitar)

There Are a Lot of People in the World Called Jack

There’s an old man singing
Out on his front porch
Strumming his guitar
Like it’s 1954.
It may have been a while
But he remembers every chord
And although it doesn’t look like much
It’s all he could afford.
Yes, the paint is peeling
And the strings are wearing thin
And it’s still sporting the logo
Of the band he once was in
But every cent he ever earned
Bought him that guitar
He should have known that green ambition
Never gets you far.
His fingers pace the tired strings.
Performing through the days
Mister-Money-Buys-You-Talent
So-I’m-Al ways-Going-To-Pay.
Stupid to the audience
Who stand around and stare
He closes his eyes and flutters back
Forgets his silver hair.
When he carried solos
With the music in his arms
Failure was not a choice
Nothing could do him harm.
As the final bar echoes
A chord dies in his hands
He falls down hard onto his porch,
And ceases the painful sound.
His weary face stares from his hands
The audience just smile,
Walk from the man and his guitar
Always in denial.

Drowning In My Own Tears

Drowning In My Own Tears
Words & music Henry Glover
It brings a tear into my eyes
When I begin to realise
I've cried so much since you've been gone
I guess I'll drown in my own tears
I'm sitting crying just like a child
My pouring tears are running wild
If you don't think you'll be home soon
I guess I'll drown in my own tears
Cos I know it's true
Into each life some rain must fall
I'm so blue here without you
It keeps on raining and pouring
Why can't you come on home
So I won't be all alone
If you don't think you'll be home soon
I guess I'll drown in my own tears

The Poplar Field

'The poplars are fell'd: farewell to the shade,
And the whispering sound of the cool colonnade;
The winds play no longer and sing in the leaves,
Nor Ouse on his bosom their image receives.

'Twelve years have elapsed, since I last took a view
Of my favourite field, and the bank where they grew;
And now in the grass behold they are laid,
And the tree is my seat, that once lent me a shade.

'The blackbird has fled to another retreat,
Where the hazels afford him a screen from the heat,
And the scene where his melody charm'd me before
Resounds with his sweet-flowing ditty no more.

'My fugitive years are all hasting away,
And I must ere long lie as lowly as they,
With a turf on my breast, and a stone at my head,
Ere another such grove shall arise in its stead.

''Tis a sight to engage me, if anything can,
To muse on the perishing pleasures of man;
Tho' his life be a dream, his enjoyments, I see,
Have a being less durable even than he.'

I Am.... (The Fingers Of Love)

i am the fingers of love...
unlatching the door,
with silent determination.
unbuttoning your blouse,
tracing the line of your neck,
stroking your hidden fire.
playing the strings
of your heart's old guitar,
picking up the pen,
and lighting the match.
digging in the dirt
to plant your dreams,
wiping the tears from
the lines beneath your eyes.
trembling as they tie the bow,
and reach out to touch your casket.
aching with the torrent of passion,
and the years of love's remembrance!

Weep No More

Gordon jenkins / tom adair
Im just about fed up
Ive finally had my fill
Of sitting around and crying in my beer
Ive drunk the bitter cup
Ive downed the bitter pill
While waiting for the silver lining to appear
Im going to stack my blues up
On the very highest shelf
Im going to pack my blues up
And get wise to myself
(weep no more, my baby)
(weep no more, my baby)
Weep no more
Im going to weep no more
Im putting an end to this lonesome game
(its such a lonesome game this crying)
Cry no tears, Im going to cry no tears
Each time that I happen to hear his name
(I hear his name)
Im going out on the town
This hopeless torch I will drown
cause Im tired of running around
(running around)
With just a memory
Weep no more, Im going to weep no more
Till somebody weeps
(until somebody weeps) for me

Eyes And Tears

How wisely Nature did decree,
With the same Eyes to weep and see!
That, having view'd the object vain,
They might be ready to complain.

And since the Self-deluding Sight,
In a false Angle takes each hight;
These Tears which better measure all,
Like wat'ry Lines and Plummets fall.

Two Tears, which Sorrow long did weigh
Within the Scales of either Eye,
And then paid out in equal Poise,
Are the true price of all my Joyes.

What in the World most fair appears,
Yea even Laughter, turns to Tears:
And all the Jewels which we prize,
Melt in these Pendants of the Eyes.

I have through every Garden been,
Amongst the Red,the White, the Green;
And yet, from all the flow'rs I saw,
No Hony, but these Tears could draw.

So the all-seeing Sun each day
Distills the World with Chymick Ray;
But finds the Essence only Showers,
Which straight in pity back he powers.

Yet happy they whom Grief doth bless,
That weep the more, and see the less:
And, to preserve their Sight more true,
Bath still their Eyes in their own Dew.

So Magdalen, in Tears more wise
Dissolv'd those captivating Eyes,
Whose liquid Chains could flowing meet
To fetter her Redeemers feet.

Not full sailes hasting loaden home,
Nor the chast Ladies pregnant Womb,
Nor Cynthia Teeming show's so fair,
As two Eyes swoln with weeping are.

The sparkling Glance that shoots Desire,
Drench'd in these Waves, does lose it fire.
Yea oft the Thund'rer pitty takes
And here the hissing Lightning slakes.

The Incense was to Heaven dear,
Not as a Perfume, but a Tear.
And Stars shew lovely in the Night,
But as they seem the Tears of Light.

Ope then mine Eyes your double Sluice,
And practise so your noblest Use.
For others too can see, or sleep;
But only humane Eyes can weep.

Now like two Clouds dissolving, drop,
And at each Tear in distance stop:
Now like two Fountains trickle down:
Now like two floods o'return and drown.

Thus let your Streams o'reflow your Springs,
Till Eyes and Tears be the same things:
And each the other's difference bears;
These weeping Eyes, those seeing Tears.

Note:
Magdala, lascivos sic quum dimisit Amantes,
Fervidaque in castas lumina solvit aquas;
Haesit in irriguo lachrymarum compede Christus,
Et tenuit sacros uda Catena pedes.

He brings a tear into my eyes
When I begin, lord, to realize.
If you dont think that, honey, youll be lonesome,
You know Ill drown, drown, oh lord, in my own tears.
I know its true into his mind
A little rain is bound to fall
But since you been gone honey Im so blue,
It just keeps rainin, keeps right on rainin more and more.
I didnt cry just like a child,
My poor tears, lord, they were runnin wild.
If you dont think that baby youll be home soon now

Busy...

you body clock
does not tell time,

busy body, slimy fingers,
trembling hands,
wrecking nerves
fast tracking heart,

exploding ideas
killing boredom

it's been this way
since

nothing is written
the spirit is away

the body is left here
comatose

dreams like butterflies
hovering on some red flowers

heartless sounds of
discontent

fingers dissociated from hands
the eyes are closing

like closed computers
at 8 o'clock in the morning

Selling the Guitar

The old strings of this guitar
they argue with my fingers

Perhaps the E string
with its proud tone
has better things to do

Maybe one night
this guitar
chose to become a piano
or speak other languages

Someone put the words
Out of tune
It no longer understands me

Now the songs refuse to be heard
Now things don't sound the same
And this guitar, I'm selling-
Perhaps has something against my fingers.
