They say the sun never sets over the British Empire, but it rises every morning. The sky must get awfully crowded.

The Sun and You
I woke up this morning with your Thought in my heart
It was dull and the radiance of the Sun seems Null
I stepped out and I saw that it was cold and wet
How I wish I could get a little warmth from the sun... I said to myself.
Why the sun?
Why do I desire so much warmth?
The sun is beautiful
It also keeps you warm
Not only does it light the day,
It shows you the beauty hidden the present day.
That’s why I long for you day by day
I miss you...
Just like I miss the sun in the early hours of the day
A day without you is like a day without the sun
‘Cos you remind me of all that is beautiful, all that
Is bright, everything full of light.
Come to me my sun
Come to me my light
Come with all your might
And make everything just as bright
Up it rises in the morning
Down it sets at night
I will always have you in my heart
Even till the sun sets in my life

As Long As The Sun Sets
As long as the sun sets,
my heart will belong to you.
As long as the sun sets,
I will never be blue.
But when the sun rises,
I will start all over again.
Surrendering to your love,
as long as the sun sets.

Crowded
Crowded
Spirits walking on the roofs
no fear to fall or slide
no spirit of the dead
that did ever die
it's really crowded in the sky
and crowded in the streets
spouses and sprouts in all houses
crowded in my head am I
crowded in the underground
crowded in my ears
look what i have found;
my face crowded in tears.

The British seizure of Hongkong was an aspect of one of the most ugly crimes of the British Empire: the takeover and destruction of India, and the use of India to flood China with opium.

Woman's Work
early in the morning she rises
the woman's work is never done
and it's not because she doesn't try
she's fighting a battle with no one on her side
she rises up in the morning
and she works 'til way past dusk
the woman better slow down
or she's gonna come down hard
early in the morning she rises
the woman's work is never done

Canada evolved within the British Empire: it inherited the Parliamentary system, the Cabinet system and all the other features of the British constitutional system which had been in place, for the most part, for several centuries before Canada was even thought of.

Mary's In India
Danny is lonely
Cause Mary's in India now
She said she'd call but that was three weeks ago
She left all her things well, her books and her letters from him
But as the sun rises on Mary, it sets on him
And just dance, and just drink
And just see the things I'll probably never get a chance to see
Danny's not eating, he's drinking and sleeping in
I saw him last night at a party, he's definitely thin
He says he's happy, looked pretty good
But I think
That as the sun rises on Mary, it sets on him
And just dance, and just drink
And just see the things I'll probably never get a chance to see
Danny came over last night and I cooked for him
He talked about you Mary and how much we loved you still
He told me he's packed up your books and your letters and things
But as the sun sets on Mary, it's rising on him
And we danced, and we drank
And I've seen some things you probably never got a chance to see
Don't worry, Mary
Cause I'm taking care of Danny
And he's taking care of me

Duty And Work!
Sun rises and sets everyday;
Moon rises and sets everyday;
Plough man ploughs the field;
Poets love to compose poems!
Some love to do duty well;
But many do only for profit.
How duty has to be done?
What do duty, work mean?
Duty is done expecting none;
Work is done expecting some.
Duty and work all have to do;
But duty, works are different!
Duty is life work for everyone;
Work is done to live life here!

Kohinoor...unlucky stone
I am black unshaped stone
Simple but famous for quality alone
When cut to size may assume name of diamond
All envy keen interest and passion found
Many may inherit fortune with precious stone
Prosperity may return and poverty gone
It may shadow bad luck and misfortune
Life may go astray with rhythm out of tune
Such is story of diamond “Kohinoor” in possession
Previously found with princely states with obsession
Sikhs got it with downfall and recession
British too lost empire with no concession
Where ever it traveled misfortune followed
Uprooting of states and downfall allowed
Humiliation and shame had to be swallowed
Revenge, hate and reprisal got to be vowed
“Kohinoor” came to be known as unlucky treasure
Cut into size was mounting pressure
British obliged and cut into pieces assured
Not to pass to any one promise reassured
British too were reduced to small empire
Golden days passed with good fame to expire
Many attempted it to claim and acquire
Legal bindings and claims too required
History may not repeat with its curse and fall out
Kohinoor may stay in vault and not invite rout
World may know nothing what it is all about
It is tale of destruction and misfortune spell out
Still it adores British crown
No significance but only in noun
Many countries claim and eyes frown
British too unwilling and claimdisown

Crowded Room
Across a crowded room
I first set eyes on you
My vision was impaired
Obstructed out of view
By those - faces in a crowded room
Them - bodies in a crowded room
Their - breathing in a crowded room
And their - pushing me out
Down the fire escape
In the crowded room I wont touch too much
I felt the punch of a punch
The language was enough
To send me running etc.

The Hallmark of Poetry
Every day, the sun sets
you noticed?
in a great, glorious performance
of wraparound scenic splendour
as if it were the last day of the world
(we'd sue)
and all around the world
poets who've been chewing on their pencils all day
or gazing steamy-eyed at an empty screen
without as we poets say, the Muse whispering
an ode we're owed
as poets
wonder if it could be one last chance
to write the ultimate sunset poem
to get something down today
and justify our existence beyond existing
noting that at sunset
the red flowers in the garden glow so intensely
that you can feel it on your eyeballs
and the sunlight just when the sun disappears
lights up the whole landscape like a floodlight
on the stage set of our lives
that sort of stuff
then next morning the sun
rises on our ultimate sunset poem
and later sets

Getting Mighty Crowded
Im packing up my memories
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
Im turning in my keys
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
cause there aint room enough for two
In dreams that were made for me and you
Im telling you, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im gonna take these things of mine
And Im gonna move all out of your life
Stop wasting my time
And Im gonna move all out of your life
cause there aint room enough for three
In dreams that were made for you and me
So you see, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im saving you the trouble of putting me down
Starting on the double, yeah yeah
Im gonna shop around
Im gonna find another heart
Where I can live all by myself
Gonna find another heart
I dont have to share with anybody else
cause you dont treat me like you should
And hanging around this neighborhood is no good
Its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Im packing up my memories, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded

when citizen rights

wood precious stone
'read the writing on the wall'
portent doom inevitable decline
political advisors interpret omen
bodiless hands
flaring brands
seize oil lands

God has numbered the very days

There's you in me,
There's you and there's me
There's Life and there's death
There's love and there's hate,
But you and i must live together.
There's me in you,
There's you in me,
Together we're in one
Life may start, life may end;
But you and I will always love one another,
As long as you and I liveth,
Life in the morning, life in the evening,
The sun rises, the sun sets.
But you and I remember one thing,
Love is our religion.
