Snowblind

Hark! Attend! Divine Attendant!
Natural Philosophy I Quote Thee!
Ye see with thy affixed eye
hear with wondrous keen ear!
Scan horizons’ fugitive youthful orb
listen attend raindrops drumbeat!

Ye cerebral midnight lightening blinds
thunderclaps render ye retina deaf!
Yet awhile yon aching purple heart
beating amidst a mist arch flesh clad cavern!
Clear sees through ye clouding predawn mist
hears trumpet blast howl starlit smocked void!

Such is cut of ye snowblind clay
fate spun with weave to clothe with cloth
that covered ye poetic form life lived.

To clothe with the cloth
that covered fevered form.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

To The River Rhone

Thou Royal River, born of sun and shower
In chambers purple with the Alpine glow,
Wrapped in the spotless ermine of the snow
And rocked by tempests!--at the appointed hour
Forth, like a steel-clad horseman from a tower,
With clang and clink of harness dost thou go
To meet thy vassal torrents, that below
Rush to receive thee and obey thy power.
And now thou movest in triumphal march,
A king among the rivers! On thy way
A hundred towns await and welcome thee;
Bridges uplift for thee the stately arch,
Vineyards encircle thee with garlands gay,
And fleets attend thy progress to the sea!

Early Works - Far Beyond

Far beyond I see a sky of blue,
still further beyond I see
mountain peaks covered in mist.
Just beyond the sky of blue
and mountain, peaks covered in mist
lies a sun setting peacefully.
As the sun sets
it colours the sky
lighting the mountains
like a roman candle
and far beyond these burning mountains
the sun rests its head peacefully
as the day come to a close.

Grey

Grey road stretched through grey rain.
Grey rain fell though grey mist.
Grey mist enveloped all,
all the eye could see,
all the land,
all the sky
and me.
Grey covered all,
all the way down to the sea.

Glimpsed through grey the swell of the ocean,
riding the waves a wind surfer surfing,
chopping, fighting the crests with swift motion
skirting the spray, sail unfurling.
Stopping, I stared at that sight in the mist,
oh how he came dancing over the sea,
right through the rain a state of sheer bliss,
the wondrous frolic rippling throughout me
making me tingle right down deep inside.
That misty image ripped all grey apart
a glorious vision of freedom untied,
returning tremendous joy to my heart
filling me up, bringing tears to my eyes,
emerging from grey a great love of life.

Deniehy’s Lament

SPIRIT of Loveliness! Heart of my heart!
Flying so far from me, Heart of my heart!
Above the eastern hill, I know the red leaves thrill,
But thou art distant still, Heart of my heart!

Sinning, I’ve searched for thee, Heart of my heart!
Sinning, I’ve dreamed of thee, Heart of my heart!
I know no end nor gain; amongst the paths of pain
I follow thee in vain, Heart of my heart!

Much have I lost for thee, Heart of my heart!
Not counting the cost for thee, Heart of my heart!
Through all this year of years thy form as mist appears,
So blind am I with tears, Heart of my heart!

Mighty and mournful now, Heart of my heart!
Cometh the Shadow-Face, Heart of my heart!
The friends I’ve left for thee, their sad eyes trouble me—
I cannot bear to be, Heart of my heart!

Burattino senza fili

Puppet without strings

Behind scene's linen cloth, wake of lonely mind,
your eye lids - a clothe plain, a drag by threads,
you hang, awkward dance at a buffoon's command,
Mondays of a life unsolved, to Sunday's dim end.

(Shut eye lids and time still, you live together,
you saw her in a chapel of wood, you on her side,
church bells rung and lemon blooms, on combed hair,
an oath taken to live with it, and dance in mind..)

Like in a shadow theater, forgot your role soon,
a clumpy figure under lids, you loved too much,
a figure surd is jumping up, upon a weave of loom,
to awake in aura lost, of puppet smiles and touch.

And jump-u-up, hop-hop, your-legs spasmodically,
the two of you behind lids, a cardboard foolish fair,
a shadow live theater, to jump hop-dance of tally,
unfurled cartoon hero you are, where her eyes stare..

Hero of shadows on foolish cloth, way high to jump,
and wooden laugh! If you could be for her, a kite..
your eye-lids and stage-cloth, a shadow loss to hunt,
outside of it, your flying cry, on corny yellow light..

Bow Down

Bow down to your divine gift
For you are but a man
She is your queen
Be a real man
You created of dust
She of your rib
Near your heart
Treat her with utmost love and respect

Care for her
Purity and Perfection
You took her from her parent's home
Treat with pride your queen
Bow down imbecile
Touch her feet
And keep the divine promise you made

Simple rules to follow
Be righteous with her
Be protective of her
Be husband, lover and friend
Clothe her as she clothe you
Appreciate her affections
Adorn her with prayers you have for yourself.

The Clothing of Faith

She took her Heart and placed it in a bottle
because it was reserved for only him.
She took her Soul and placed upon it a sign
that said 'occupado.'

All her going-out clothes she didn't need
she placed in moth balls,
gave some to her sister.

Her mother said
'What are you doing? '
She would always smile and say 'I won't be using these
until he returns.'

Her ring she placed in the sugar bowl
covering it with sweet sugar grains
putting it high
on a shelf that no one used.

She honey-dipped all her kisses
lining them up
in her Honey-Dew Kisses Pot.

Her friends said 'what are you doing-
he may never return.'

She said, 'oh yes he will and I will need these.'

She took everything,
wrapping them in her Faith Cloth
taking them out only at night
when no one was around.

Each glowed in that dark;
each drew Faith from the Faith Cloth
which covered her Hope Chest
which contained the photos, the ring
they hummed
all through her night.

He would come or he would not
but these gifts he'd already given

filled her heart
renewing it
underneath
the Faith Cloth
which warmed
her and her memories.

The Stars of Home

Sultry inspiration the dark muse
Course set, red ominous sun
The inward sea of unresolved pain
Covered with the estranged masks
Bright radiant colors
Covered with shallow clay
Enveloped in entropy
Illustrations of the shadow fire
Pyre of poets lay their quills down
Still waters in the silent valley

The world has entered into my eyes
Sunset has its portent
Swords in the purple glare
My hour has no Eden
Contrasts between the armies
My heart is a battleground
The heavens shine with the future
A ladder amidst the storm
Sands of the seashore
Now the stars shine like home

Great Listening Act Part 2

I don’t want to understand
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to know
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
Words are jumping wild
Like a sudden flood

I don’t want to promise
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to consider
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
Why can I erase that mud
That covered my heart

I don’t want to think
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to care
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I always fall to the trap you made
And play with my sympathy

Aurobindo 138 Savitri Book 10

An appreciation on Savitri-
Book Ten: The Book of the Double Twilight
Canto One: The Dream Twilight of the Ideal
Words within inverted commas are Aurobindo's

'And deep anticipations of delight,
For ever eager to be grasped and held,
Were never grasped, yet breathed strange ecstasy.'
'A pearl-winged indistinctness fleeting swam, 'Line115 to
'Hidden in mist and passing towards the sun.'Line 135
Visuals of the dreaming night in feeble light
Highly colourful in descriptive words..
All worldly invisible beings visible in dim space...

'These fugitive beings, these elusive shapes
Were all that claimed the eye and met the soul,
The natural inhabitants of that world.'
'But nothing there was fixed or stayed for long; '
'In that fine chaos joy fled dancing past
And beauty evaded settled line and form
And hid its sense in mysteries of hue; '
Like this poem has its sense in Thou dictional beauty

'Yet gladness ever repeated the same notes
And gave the sense of an enduring world; '
'One touched incessantly things never seized,
A skirt of worlds invisibly divine.'
'An adoration reigned in the yearning heart,
A spirit of purity, an elusive presence'
'Much sweeter seemed than any rapture known
Earth or all-conquering heaven can ever give.'

'Heaven ever young and earth too firm and old
Delay the heart by immobility: '
'Carved by an anguish of divine endeavour
They stand up sculptured on the eternal hills, '
Or quarried from the living rocks of God
Win immortality by perfect form.'...........

............My consciousness this moment,
O'Guru, I'm in awe....in invincible heights
Ineffable Thee embellishing poetic creation
My inquisitive apprehension, erring Thee may opine
May thereso, let Savitri in my self arise
Aroused thereso be knowledge and fortune

The Second Poem

the woman wears a long gown
covering her toes
she veils her face and neck
there is no way that you can see
her veins
her back is covered with
fox hair
she wears gloves and her
mouth is covered with
silk cloth
she looks like a mummy
though fashionable in some sense
less the context of
death

get nearer she has a very
important matter to reveal

The Fugitive

On a cold october morning
As frost lay on the ground
Waiting to make my move I made no sound
Waiting for the mist
To cover all around
I carefully picked my time then took the wall
Im sick and tired of running
The hunger and the pain
A stop to look about then off again
Being at the wrong place
And at the wrong time
Suspected of a hit that was my crime
I am a fugitive being hunted down like game
I am a fugitive but Ive got to clear my name
Even if I find them
And get to clear my name
I know that things can never be the same
But if I ever proof
My innocence some day
Ive got to get them all to make them pay
I am a fugitive being hunted down like game
I am a fugitive but Ive got to clear my name

The Mist

Through the mist I wander.
With all the time to ponder.
Beasts of such ferocity come at me with such intensity.
I continue on of neccesity,
to find a true philosophy.
The mists so dense.
I need to make recommpence.
For all that's wrong I must confess.
I cannot stand this lonley test.
In the mist and in the midst.
I'm truly blind it gives me fits.
The mist is thick,
it eats you cold and quick.
Beats you madly like a switch.
The mist is dark it kills the heart.
Madly eats you like a shark.
The mist is cold and I grow old.
Hopefully soon I'll find my hold.

Herein Is Beauty!

Herein is beauty, not merely in the dearly covered flesh upon the bone,
Nor in the fashioning of a dress upon the form,
Nor in the twinkling, sparkling jewels upon the naked fingers...
But, rather, centred within the temple of the human heart,
Fastened to the eternal essence of the sacred soul...
There, in the midst of things, sheltered from all harm,
Exists the quintessential being, the true character contained,
And cushioned there are the colours of the rainbow,
Each representing a facet of the internal spirit of life...
Goodness and meekness and kindness and gentleness...
The softened sweetness, pure as honey,
Untainted by the harshness of life's cruel trickeries,
Unblemished, untarnished by the patina of time...
Look well upon true beauty, for it is worth the study...
Compare it with all that Man would call beauty...
There is no comparison in all of Nature's realm...
The Universe itself can barely contain it,
Yet it must, for how else could we, mere mortals,
Comprehend it and esteem its splendours?
Herein is beauty, not merely in the dearly covered flesh upon the bone,
Nor in the fashioning of a dress upon the form,
Nor in the twinkling, sparkling jewels upon the naked fingers...
But, rather, centred within the temple of the human heart...
God-made to stand against the rigours of time and space,
Twixt yesterday, today and tomorrow...
Beloved of God, forever, without ceasing, without compromise,
Without hesitation, disregard or dismissal...
For true beauty is His creation, His theme, His dream,
His one and eternal plan...
There is nothing more wondrous than beauty...

A Winter Smile

The first icy mist of morning covered the land
With foggy, hazy, vague and blur memories of the Autumn
Where silence is deafening
Ans winter frost are chilly and deep.....

where vale of grief is lonely
And frost wind of mid winter looks cold and gray
And freshly fallen snow
Warms up the nostalgic memories.........

Where imagination helps to add a tint and a shade of life
And show the color of miracles on the garden covered with snow
And springs the hope in our hearts and souls
To bring us a whisper of joy and a winter smile........

And all this takes us on the momentary trip
Of an emotional journey of life
Where we can hear the echo and sounds of silence
And a hand full of memories from the gray and frosty winter mist........

Mist and Tears

There's a mist that's forming
over the trees I see.
The sight of it forming
does something to me.
It blurs the vision
in my ageing eyes.
It dulls my senses
and I realize that
mist and tears
that quickly form
are for me the silence
before the storm.

Ah! the storm I say
is making its way
into my wakefulness
on every day.
There's no way to escape
this enveloping mist
unless I feel that
I've just been kissed
by you.

Kafka

Short of ending up like Kafka
Who toiled in obscurity
And died peniless
I work myself up
Not to allow myself down
Becoming one voice
For the community of
Published writers
Storming through the
Clutter of red tape
And desks covered in
Layers of dust
I dig my fingers into
Manuscripts
Of old
And allow my eyes
To file away alphbetically
The words
Words of virtue
Of nature
Of life
Of love
Written in free form
Or rhyme
Oh to wax poetic
With some unique prose
Nothing compares to
The poetic Rose
Got to raise myself up
From the words of before
Recapture their essence
In a more elegant form
Brainstorming creative
Issues is not all what it seems
Musn't end up like kafka
Lost in obscurity's
Almost famous dreams
