Forests Of Growing Green Gold

living forests
touristic gold mines
if market mined

diverse flora fauna
sources of memories
seed imaginations

sold not once
as deforestation
but countless

times as living
life tapestries
creative webs

children of forests
bless all eyes all
hearts spirit seen

“weep child
the mighty totara
is (blade) fallen

no longer
forests thick
stretching
120 feet high

above life dense
canopy bird song
broad leaf trees

linear sharp
pointed leaves
(grew) dark
green-brownish

female totara
flowers red swollen
nut embedded”

who will
replant sacred
forests?

who will come
centuries on to
watch totara grow?

living sacred
ancient forest giants
were timber

sold when tourism
was life sustaining
growing green gold

Cycles Of Light

For just a little longer
reside I in a familiar
foreign land of human
resource grabbing aspirations,

as I write
out last
dreamscapes,

praising
pristine forest
beauty in call
of conservation,

as land rape
earth rape
swift plunder
reap

human
potentialities
destinies.

The Totara spirit
stands in native forest,
forgotten
in termite cities,

unadored unfelt
unknown unthought
of unseen unappreciated

from birth
earth
forest floor,

spirit guardian
last
to kiss sunset

yellow golden
dusk
eclipse rays,

first
to welcome
embrace

creeping
golden
fingers
of dawn light,

where will
your flesh skin
bark reside
tomorrow,

for if mighty
Totara falls
who will sentential

greet honour
glory life
cycles of light?

Save Forests and Rare Species

The Franklin forests are extinct;
These trees of beauty are now rare;
No more are they found in the wild;
Their fragrant flowers tempt a child!

Last seen in 18 zero3,
By Altamaha river-side –
A deciduous tree or shrub,
It grows upto a twenty feet.

With leaves that change color by fall,
Its snow-white flowers are showy;
With golden yellow stamens free,
It is now grown in pots from seeds!

But nothing like the forests wild
Of Franklin trees that grew on own;
You could not find a path through them –
Home to wild animals many.

How Nature rears a forest dense!
–The secrets, no man deciphers;
The way they flourish in the wild,
No gardener can do like-wise!

As man destroys more forest trees,
For want of newer farming land,
Wild wondrous trees then cease to be,
And other species vanish too.

Deforestation is a crime
That has gone uncontrolled with time;
Rare species of trees, shrubs and beasts
Have been effaced from earth with ease.

The earth has lesser green cover!
’Tis growing bald, much more each day,
As forest trees are felled for wood,
At rates more than we ever should.

World’s rain-forests are turning scarce –
A cause of global-warming fast;
Landslides and floods are dangers new;
More species turn something of past!

Trees extract carbon-dioxide,
And make the air less polluted;
Wild beasts are on the rampage when
Their forest habitats are gone.

Save forests and afforest, man;
The clouds bring rain when trees ask for;
Wild beasts need forests for their homes;
Preserve forests in ways you can.

Silences Speak In My Soul

how can I tell you
of the silences
that speak to me
that I reach out

to touch in moments
stretching back to
inspiration of creation
I feel speak in my soul

unique in my stillness
witnessing one vast smile
as whole universe shines
in God’s creative smile

creation comes upon me
creation is all within me
creation infuses my being
creation is sea of awareness

no thoughts form into words
imagery is words within soul
no noise forms into fleet sound
voice spoke creation into being

thoughts wash over my soul
behold creation in appreciation
perceived in stillness attained
God speaks infuses my brain

behold felt essence of life is laden
within love which birthed creation
I reach out touch recipe of gift life
love embraces lungs touch breath air

alertness is alive creation perceives
life is breath breathed into life being
awareness perceives in complexities
multiple lifeforms perceive creation

all life is one life linked in earth biosphere
all earth’s surface abounds in life lease
atmosphere sea abound in one life lease
across eons interwoven creation breathe

ingenious species fail extinct in man greed
independent species erased link cut expire
independent species disappear into oblivion
earth rape accelerates inducing earth death

hear silences as forest loses thrill bird song
hear silences as animals decrease fade extinct
hear silences as rivers seas empty of fish stock
hear silences as plant diversity waxes withers

one life lessens weakens as strand by strand
man unravels woven fabric in sustaining life
dispossessed bear witness speak of earth rape
God holds seeds of immortal souls to replant

a new heaven new earth is written into universe
place is prepared for judgement awaiting souls
to be released into reseeded new perfect creation
silences speak of places dark souls will be bound

'infinity pauses

brief cosmic moment

What Is This Love?

What Is This Love?
What can it mean?

Every time I meet her
I take her by the hand.
In my arms in my thoughts
I hold her, comfort her,
a million times a day.

The words ‘I love you’ are words
that to her I repeatedly must say.
When I am with her I am swallowed
within the haunting, sea green depths,
of her bewitching heart devouring eyes.

My heart my soul within me, my God
above me, tell me our lives, eternally are tied.

The sun shinning upon her golden hair,
the wind softly caressing, the features of her face;
the loving touch of her gentle fingers,
the feel of her lips, her skin, all cause my heart to race.

My soul soars exalted, far above enraptured me,
I dream yet breathe, the surging river of her love;
With her breath, her unspoken words, she guides me,
time mystical electrical, I breathe yet breathe not, the opium of her love.

My heart is sealed like a scented letter
with the magic of a blood red melted wax;
within sacred words are nobly scripted
with my inherent honour code, I attest to every martyred fact;

within my heart, without you, I cannot lie,
I but die, the cruel death of abandonment, a million gutted times a day.
One day carved in stone, upon my tombstone;
these words in gold leaf; you could truly say.

To Louise with love.
Like countless lifetimes
spent I looking for thee.
Coming to you was like
climbing. To the sun.
Your soul has walked with me,
in the best, in all my ways.
Alone I was lost.... (22-37) 1

And of all women
I do confess
Of them all
I love... thee best. (45-48) 2

Forest Primeval

Forest Primeval

As I walk through
this forest realm.

Breathing in
the mellow mist of scents,
the molting leaf, the broken bark
of times past.

My skin breathes in
the cool kiss of morning air.

I exhale breathless,
in the presence,
of such divine beauty.

I reach out to touch
the divinity of life
of this forests sweet soul.

And to my blissful sense
I see the green hue of
Giant living trees.

So tall above the earth
And yet they humbly bow,
To earth in holy intent.

Giving the breath of life,
To this dweller that walks there.

Returning the fragile cool air
To their companion beings.

I humbly accept the kiss of life
From these magnificent
Redwood oracles.
So ancient and wise above all.

In gratitude and love I vow
To protect all life Here.
In this holiest place
Of God's creation.

High Price

Jerry Jerry your lifestyles hairy
how do your dope plants grow?
In cramped ceiling, under a naked bulb, my lady,
from little seeds all in a row.

Jerry Jerry your rather smelly
how are your dope plants sold?
By bountiful bagful, or in single rolls, to tally
Waitangi gold, is a trip, for joint discerning bold.

Jerry Jerry do you live in fear
do you feel hunted, with pouncing, policemen near?
The boys in blue, dance a merry, merry tune.
What’s a bust, may come yearly, like June?

Jerry Jerry one day all grow old
will you feel regret, for lives, you’ve sold?
I’ve been living high, flying in narcotic, sky seat.
Life’s been so very sweet, living with prepaid, heat.

Jerry Jerry a future comes, your days done,
there’s no place for you, under our sun?
There’s always a place, man in selective, supplying know.
There’re other trips, after poppy seeds, to sow.

Jerry Jerry it’s time now, you must go
tell of other pastures, you now will hoe?
Man’s full of lust, greed, ever fertile seed,
a high paying price, is charge for need.

No matter where man chance may roam.
A place is found, I’m right at home.
