Echo Of Paradise Lost
Sorrow’s sadness tinges,
feathered fluttering soul
with mournful memories
of gleaned purity past.
As soul cries
through possessing use
of humility’s
harnessed heart.
I cloak hope
in a poet’s pitted shield
as I weave each line
to random rhyme.
Even as youth
we stand in our Eventide,
memories flooding
back instead of fading
away - as we walk
forward in dream’s eye.
For how can
the snail know
crawling about
in subdued slime.
With its burden
on its back,
that creation earth.
Stands a vast
height above him?
Man is trapped
like a slug
on a lettuce leaf
in the garden
of deceiving illusion.
I do not know
I have always known
I shall know again
as I knew before.
Many times have I seen...
multitude face of death.
Each time discerning death...
passed me serenely by.
It is not given
for you to die.
Not yet enfolded in
origin earth to lie.
A refreshing wind
must blow
across the face
of cursed land
carrying embryo
of reseeded thought.
For now is prophesy
ordained time of planting.
So catalyst toils
in field to bring,
irrigating waters,
murmuring flow
to parched soil.
Before warm
breath whispered
on siren wind.
Hours are long
in this world
of shadows.
Scars run deep
of many wounds
I bare
on body
of my soul.
Yet even great pain
crumbles broken perishes
like sun bleached dry bones
till pain receding slowly fades.
Weathered with relentless time
or succumbs at sin sentenced grave.

Bring Back The Memories
Baby you were in my
Dream
We were walking down
The street
Baby I heard in a melody
Its like a blast from the
Past
Let our story take us back
To the way that it used to
Be
Back to bobbys house and
Then my house
The asking whats your name
Pledging my love over soda pops
And loving you more and more
Everyday
Let the dj play that special
Song again
Lets bring back the memories
Hey there lonely girl
Ill be your duke of earl
Cause thats how it used to
Be
I keep thinking how it must
Have been
It wasnt so long ago
Everything was so simple then
When I loved you with all me
Heart and soul
In the book of love
Were a million to one
Lets bring back the memories
My earth angel
Leave a story to tell
Lets bring back these used to bes
I can make up each and every scence
Ill do-wop and then laugh at me
And Id like to rewrite my whole
Story
With you by my side
In the still of the night
I want to know that youre mine
So bring back those memories
Bring back those memories
Were a thousand miles away
Bring back the memories
Earth angel
Earth angel
Will you be mine
Bring back the memories
Bring back the memories

Girlfriend
You're really gone, girlfriend
The dryers on, I'm in
And I'm alone for the first time
(I walk away now [x2])
You left a sock good friend
Where's the pair broken
Are you aware that I'm missing you
(I walk away now [x2])
but I cant run to you no more
to catch me when I'm fallin
I know I have to let you go
But I will not be broken
No I will not be broken
But keep the slow fading memories
This place is strange, empty
You did your time, turned twenty
And walls are bare where your pictures hung
But I cant call you on no more
And no we cant just be friends
but now its time to let you go
but I will not be broken
no I will not be broken
and keep the slowly fading
memories memories
I keeping theses memories
I can't run to you no more
to catch me when I'm fallin
I know I have to let you go
But I will not be broken
For ever tear a lesson learned
Every good time golden
But now its time to let you go
And I will not be broken
And I will not be broken
No I will not be broken
And keep the slowly fading memories

Hope against hope
Hope against all hope
That times will change
A word lingers
In time and place
Softly spoken
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears
Hope against hope
That love will grow
From the embers
A single spark
Lights the fire again
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears
Hope against hope
Time will soften
A hardened heart
A fractured mind
Bring peace to soul
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears
Hope against hope
That this is a dream
I will wake soon
Covered in sweat
Breathing once again
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears
Hope against hope
That tomorrow is different
Today didn't happen
But it did
Can't change today
Memories bring tears
If It Were You
Theres a time when the heart can no longer give in
You try to stand up and fight
Youve known pain for so long and you know whats gone wrong
But you cant make it right
Another broken heart is all youre feeling
How can you go on
But the memories of the times there was love in your eyes
Keep leading me on
(chorus)
If it were you
Would you hold on and hope that it might
Bring back the dreams we once knew
Or just give up forever that part of your life
Tell me what would you do
If it were you
You can never take back all youve given in love
No matter how hard you try
Once its over and done you just have to let go
Though a part of you died
Another waste of time is all thats left now
But life must go on
All the nights that we spent, never thought they would end
Why cant they go on
(chorus)
If it were you
Would you hold on and hope that it might
Bring back the love we once knew
Or just give up forever that part of your life
Tell me what would you do
If it were you
If it were you
Tell me what would you do
If it were you
Over and over I go back through time
Didnt we promise our love till we die
Asking you deep down inside
Did we really try
Another broken heart is all thats left
But life must go on
All the nights that we spent, never thought they would end
Why cant they go on

Marilyn
She lies
Upon her bed so still
unable to summon up the will
to get out and face the day
as time slowly slips away.
She shies
From the inevitability
not accepting reality.
For Death is approaching fast!
How much longer will she last?
Her eyes
Look around at the family
gathered so uneasily
as they gaze helplessly on
knowing she will soon be gone.
She tries
To fight for her very life
to remain there as his wife.
But she's unable to speak
and her body is so weak.
She sighs
Exhaling her final breath
and her body gives in to death.
The finality of death is felt
by her bedside as they knelt.
She dies
Breathing out lifes last breath
and succumbing to her death.
Lying there upon her bed
all motionless. She is dead.
She flies
Her soul to worlds unknown
and he's left there all alone.
Helplessly looking at her there
beyond the reach of his care.
He cries
Gazing upon her lifeless face
and holding her in his embrace.
Unable to prevent the flow
of his deep sobs of sorrow.
'Arise'
She is summoned before God
to account for the paths she'd trod.
Stands alone before Him there
as her life's deeds are laid bare.
Surprise
Our turn too will quickly come
when God shall call our soul home.
We too must pass through death
when we draw our final breath.
Be wise
Let's kiss God's Son while we may
to survive that judgement day
then through Jesus we'll be forgiven
and allowed to enter into heaven.
A battle between soul and death
My body has become a battle field,
Battle, a fierce battle, I cried in pain,
As death comes and fights to pull the soul,
Nothing happens as death has no gain.
I have been a heart and gastric patient,
My body burns with a wound of heart,
And my heart burns with it's own light,
But soul and death wrestle part to part.
A great war took place in my body,
Death violently ordered to the soul to surrender,
But soul is not ready to surrender then war began,
Many souls and deaths saw the war and wonder.
What about my body? I shouted at them,
My body has been burning since long,
Listening this, death laughed and soul hit it,
Soul told me that “death is going to do you wrong”.
You go away otherwise the death harms you,
Soul strongly pushed to the death and saved me,
I forever pray to God to give strength to my soul,
I am very thankful to my soul to protect me like a bee.

In Memoriam Matris
IN my hot youth I rashly penned
A Sonnet of the After-life.
It was the time of stress and strife
Through which the ardent soul must wend.
It was the Spring-time of my days,
When Doubt, like an inspired sage,
With creeds did eager warfare wage,
And looked with scorn on ancient ways.
But gazing back across the years
That separate my youth from me,
These words and thoughts now seem to be
All dim, as through a mist of tears.
For then I saw, with eager eyes,
A coming world where joy would reign,
And evil pass away, and pain,
When man was rid of priestly ties.
While now I turn a backward gaze
On visions fled, and vanished hours,
On dead dry leaves and perished flow'rs,
That make the story of my days.
And midway on that dreary track
I see a grave-stone, standing white —
Far off. I see it in the night;
It says, “Thy mother comes not back.”
We brought her from the Austral land,
To this the land that gave her birth;
We laid her cold, in English earth,
My sire and I — and now we stand,
Like aliens, on a dreary shore,
Though once he fondly called it “Home.”
Now, old and mateless, he would roam
Back to that southern land once more.
For there her spirit seems to be,
There lie her babes beneath the sod;
And there, but for the hand of God,
Her grandchild would have climbed her knee.

These verses of the heedless Past,
They echo not my saddened thought,
— I held that after death came nought:
The earth was not then on her cast.
Denial now is dumb within,
Without I can but grope my way,
And trust that in some brighter day
Man's soul shall live — absolved of sin.

This Life Of Mine
Thought about it all day long
Wanted to so bad but couldn't get the courage or the strength
To pick up that knife to mark on me one more time
But I didn't I haven't seen scars from a knife in a long while
Felt like something was holding me back
All my courage just went away
And all my strength just turned into weakness
How I wanted to and needed too just to feel alive
Spending most my days wondering my life away
Wishing to be whole when all I ever wanted was a dream come true
Behind my eyes lye broken dreams
Dreams that I know I won't ever fix
But that's over and done or is it
I'm lost and confused about everything
Trying to figure out where I stand
And I'm on a emotional roller coaster and can't get off
So alone and filled with pain from head to toe
Deep down my soul is screaming
And my heart is bruised
My whole body is broken everywhere
Sometimes I wish I could go to the land of no return
Maybe then I wouldn't hurt near as bad
Maybe then I wouldn't be filled with pain or broken all over the place
Wish I knew where to begin with this life but I can't even find the starting line

The Drifting Soul
O! For that leaf in the mighty boundless sea!
In a world larger than its soul will ever be
On that deep, wild, and silence sea
The soul so lonely drift aimlessly free!
O! .for that youth from mortal breath plucked.
In the bowel of the earth untimely locked
The world is a lonely place, the grave lonely still
The soul grieves but tell no one will
Does it roam every earth's dusty way
Or remain where its lifeless form doth lay?
Does it drift with the wind endlessly free
Like that leaf in the mighty turbulant sea
Or perharps it journeys through time and space
Until it finds a perfect resting place!

Distant Memory
The fire ceased behind her cries of pain
The lamp of moon lit nights, caressed her soul
The heart she possessed beat rapidly behind her chest
Such a barren land, cold as the death that cursed her soul
The wind slow with anticipation
Once had been a dream, a memory
A warrior with such a tragic end
Now a mere blinding woman
Who sits with fear within her abdomen
What was yet a reality became a dream
A silent pursuit within her heart
Emotions killed her soul slowly without any warning
She'd become a killer
Cold blooded once before
But now twas all a

I just called to say I love you
I found myself in sadness, returning to the past.
Those magic shivers were gone, even they could outlast.
Like an old canvas, painted with nuances of blue
Is my soul, holding back my tears, when I cry for you.
I can't defeat the sorrow and I'm standing alone,
I remember those days of love, but those days are gone.
I need that dream forever and love to shine again
And life I got along with you, but all I have means pain.
From time to time, I feel this love and I keep my breath
To revive the dream, to taste last kiss and my own death.
You are so deep down in my soul and I'm still with you.
When rain falls down, I defeat the lies, searching the true.
You know that my soul will keep the feelings safe all life
Because we were so pure and I was your loyal wife.
I'm down on myself, I get myself up everyday
Because I keep His love and I never stop to pray. +

The Dead To The Living
Work while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
IN the childhood of April, while purple woods
With the young year's blood in them smiled,
I passed through the lanes and the wakened fields,
And stood by the grave of the child.
And the pain awoke that is never dead
Though it sometimes sleeps, and again
It set its teeth in this heart of mine,
And fastened its claws in my brain:
For it seemed so hard that the little hands
And the little well-loved head
Should be out of reach of my living lips,
And be side by side with the dead--
Not side by side with us who had loved,
But with these who had never seen
The grace of the smile, the gold of the hair,
And the eyes of my baby-queen.
Yet with trees about where the brown birds build,
And with long green grass above,
She lies in the cold sweet breast of earth
Beyond the reach of our love;
Whatever befalls in the coarse loud world,
We know she will never wake.
When I thought of the sorrow she might have known,
I was almost glad for her sake. . . .
Tears might have tired those kiss-closed eyes,
Grief hardened the mouth I kissed;
I was almost glad that my dear was dead
Because of the pain she had missed.
Oh, if I could but have died a child
With a white child-soul like hers,
As pure as the wind-flowers down in the copse,
Where the soul of the spring's self stirs;
Or if I had only done with it all,
And might lie by her side unmoved!
I envied the very clods of earth
Their place near the child I loved!
And my soul rose up in revolt at life,
As I stood dry-eyed by her grave,
When sudden the grass of the churchyard sod
Rolled back like a green smooth wave;
The brown earth looked like the brown sea rocks,
The tombstones were white like spray,
And white like surf were the curling folds
Of the shrouds where the dead men lay;
For each in his place with his quiet face
I saw the dead lie low,
Who had worked and suffered and found life sad,
So many sad years ago.
Unchanged by time I saw them lie
As when first they were laid to rest,
The tired eyes closed, the sad lips still,
And the work-worn hands on the breast.
There were some who had found the green world so grey,
They had left it before their time,
And some were little ones like my dear,
And some had died in their prime;
And some were old, they had had their fill
Of bitter unfruitful hours,
And knew that none of them, none, had known
A flower of a hope like ours!
Through their shut eyelids the dead looked up,
And without a voice they said:
'We lived without hope, without hope we died,
And hopeless we lie here dead;
And death is better than life that draws
Pain in, as it draws in breath,
If life never dreams of a coming day
When life shall not envy death.
Through the dark of our hours and our times we lived,
Uncheered by a single ray
Of such hope as lightens the lives of you
Who are finding life hard to-day;
With our little lanterns of human love
We lighted our dark warm night--
But you in the chill of the dawn are set
With your face to the eastern light.
Freedom is waiting with hands held out
Till you tear the veil from her face--
And when once men have seen the light of her eyes,
And felt her divine embrace,
The light of the world will be risen indeed,
And will shine in the eyes of men,
And those who come after will find life fair,
And their lives worth living then!
Will you strive to the light in your loud rough world,
That these things may come to pass,
Or lie in the shadow beside the child,
And strive to the sun through the grass?'
'My world while I may,' I cried; 'but you
Whose lives were as dark as your grave?'
'We too are a part of the coming light,'
They called through the smooth green wave.
Their white shrouds gleamed as the flood of green
Rolled over and hid them from me--
Hid all but the little hands and the hair,
And the face that I always see.

Blowing Of The wind
I felt the blowing of the wind
As it enters my soul from deep within
It entered my soul, and wouldn’t let go
It is the wind from where life begins.
The wind, she is known by all man,
And from whomever sits or walks or stands
For the wind is known, when she has blown
And when she is silent, the world is alone.
The wind, it is mans friend
As I journey through the world of men,
She strengthens my soul, and she wont let go
So upon her breath, I will forever hold.
The name of the wind, I will call her friend
As she enters my breath, from deep within
She surrounds my soul, and takes a deep hold
And I pray that never will she not let go.
She is the breeze, I do believe
From the steps I walk. and from the air I breathe,
When she touches my face my sorrows are erased,
For she is the wind, the mother of the breeze.

When Memories End
I stared down at the body in the casket.
Small, broken: her body like my soul.
Everyone bent to kiss her head;
I did not. I did not want Death
to be passed on to me. I did not want
to be ended. I had had no time.
Time to express each and every idea.
What they meant to me.
My memories and why I stored them.
Time to learn others' ideas
and morph and shape them
until I could finally understand.
My heart raced against itself
in a race with no winner.
My breath came out in sputters and tears
flooded the casket before me.
WHAT IF I WOULDN'T HAVE TIME...
And I kissed her forehead.
Her ideas were no longer in use,
her memories erased from the Book
of Time, never to be retrieved.
I respected the loss.
My loss.
Her loss.
The world's loss.

A Single Candle/Death Herself
A single flame lights her face
The face of death
A single candle holds her fears
The fears of death
Her hands clasped anrond their souls
The souls of the dead
She feeds of their screams
The screams of the dead
Her legs lay bellow her
Bellow death
Her black gown over her body
The body of death
Her chest rises and falls with her breath
The breath of death
Her cloak drawn over her long flowing jet hair
The face of death
Her eyes unmoved unfeeling
Do you see it?
Do you see the soul of death?
Do you feel it?
Her skin as white as snow as it fades into darkness
The snow of tears
Her cloths as dark as night that swallows the light
The dark we all shall see
Her eyes close as she feels their souls flow
Flow from the dead
She leaves them there to lay in darkness
She steals from the dead
A single candle lights their faces filled with her
Filled with death
They fall into the darkness of her eyes, of her heart
The darkness of death
A single candle shall stay to light their way
Their way through the dark
A single candle holds their past
The pain and trials
A single candle lights her face
The face of death
A single candle holds her fears
The fears of death herself
A single candle

Why still you count your years... [De ce-ţi mai numeri anii...]
Why still you count your years to see if you are old
When very well you know your soul is sad and cold,
And why you ask the glass so often to attest
That on your face cruel time no wrinkles has impressed,
When know that all your things, which constantly do roll,
Have left deep dreary marks in your beloved soul,
And that eons have passed and fallen in abyss
Since on the earth you felt a momentary bliss?
And how you look today why do you want to know
When you're aware your ghost has left you long ago?
You carry death around and slowly are consumed,
Life has become a pain, you feel that you are doomed!

He Is
He's in the wind
And breeze, dancing with the trees -
He's in the air
Moving everywhere -
He's in the joy along the way
And the sunshine of the day -
He's in the pain and loss no words can speak
And in the quiet tear, slowly moving down my cheek -
He's in the birth and death
Within everyone's first and last breath -
He's there at each creation, and
He will be there at the final resurrection -
He's the hope of every prayer given
King of earth and heaven -
He's the originator and the answer of each soul's call
He is the great All-in-all.

The Risk
Lonely tears upon my face dried
My broken heart replied
Will my shattered heart mend
For time does a broken heart tend
Days dissolve into endless time
Tender memories play across my mind
The bitter and the sweet do blend
For the passing of love does end
My heart keeps asking why
My soul does ache to try
Will love bloom again
Past the fear, past the pain
Does one dare to risk it all
To let the heart take a fall
To take one's heart off the shelf
To totally risk one's own self
Will my heart not want to flee
Can I think of more than me
But I will anxiously await
For love to walk thru my garden gate

I Stare In The Mirror
i stare in the mirror
streams rolling down my face
holding a razor blade ever so close
trying to figure out if this is the time to go
i stare in the mirror
thinking to myslef
is this what life is suppose to be all about?
what ever happened to true love
stand by each other no matter what
i thought i found my soul mate
i chased her away with my brutal words
i stare in the mirror
frown in disgust
who have i become?
were has everyone gone?
regrets are seeping down my back
pain is oozing through my heart
my tears have created a puddle
in which i can see myself
i stare in the mirror
remebering better times
we thought we were soul mates
we had the marks to prove it
if i close my eyes i can see ur face
i can even sometimes feel u in my arms
these r all that i have left with, fading memories of the past
ur heart has since hardened
u have moved on and left me in the past
i stare in the mirror
i have no fear
i can feel all the hate coming off u
i cut myself to feel ur pain
hoping i can understand
at the same time relizing that i may never know
i stare in the mirror
i dont have any fears
my tears roll down my face
all the regrets all the appolgizes cant seam change anything
i have no one to blame
im full of shame
i wish i could of bin the man beside u
i stare in the mirror
look deep into my own eyes
i can see the pain that is inside me
all the failures
all the disapointments
this is just icing on the cake
blood splatters on the mirror
i dont have any fears
god will probally denie me
im ready to go
bottle of whiskey is at the bottom
theres no point
all ur hate has soaked into me
im dissapointed in myself
i have no will to go on
i cant hold my head up high
im lieing on the ground
covered in blood
holding a picture in my hand
smiling for the first time
i slit the other wirst.............
i stare at my body
as i float above it
my life passes before me
i relize
i wasted my life
time would would of healed my soul
i copped out ran away
left anyone who cared behind
now i float in endless darkness
i was right god did denie me......

A Man Like Me
Should you ever meet
A man like me
On a road or some busy street
With a back so scared
Head bent low
And eyes that have seen defeats
With a soul that fight the past
Where sorrow's play their broken harps
A living death, and all that's left
It this man with a broken heart
My family? Well? They've no right
To judge, or critize, nor even condemn
Because, sometimes their actions
Are just like them
Oh such careless steps, such thoughtless deeds
Oh how my misery starts
For I have faced, so much abuse
And that's what gave this broken heart
So humble, I think you could be
When I come passing by
For even the greatest...(God) ...
Was never so great
That He didn't stop to help and cry
I've tried not to lose my faith
I've held to love, all my life
Even when among all that strife
So even when sorrow throws, all those poison darts
Or when I've seen hope, all gone
I've walked alone and continued on
With broken heart
My family you've never walked in
this man shoes
Or seen the things, these eyes
have seen
Nor stood and watched with helpless hand
While the heart inside of you dies and stings
I never was a rich man, or master painter
Or had any words of art
Yet I still claim
I Love you same
Even with this broken heart
Life sometimes been so terribly cruel
There was a time I even prayed for death
There was a time of pain... when pain...
Was with every pain filled breath
So I say help that man, or friend
Or even your brother, along this road
It matters not... from where you start
For it was God...whom made you
To help that man, with a broken heart
