Ordinary People

The waters and rivers flow
The winds blow
Grasses and trees grow
Time passes by slow
While we as ordinary people
Still consistently remain shallow

We as ordinary people dictate our faiths
One day, one day
It will be too late
To educate the illiterate
On matters that are delicate
Such as environmental pollution
Or systematic scientific evolution
Exposed with political corruption
Or all kinds of discrimination
Hindering those with dedication and ambition

How about closing the doors
On all this unjustly wars
Leaving them to be dealt accordingly with the law
Instead of luring life right into the hands of deaths claw

But we are ordinary people
With binary feelings
Always concealing
What is blatantly revealing

One day
You will find yourself really lost
Like an abandoned speckle of dust
Because of someone that you trust
You'll only be able to shake your head in utter disgust

One day
In your life you will finally taste
The things you left behind to waste
So hurry up right now and make haste
Before your breasts sag down to your waist
Or your thoughts crumble into a wasteful paste

One day
You will make a card payment
Either in full or in instalments
That you will totally resent
When you receive your bank statement
Wishing you had made a better investment
Realising you’ve been befooled at the moment

One day
Out you shall speak
Sick or not sick, weak or not weak
Suddenly showing strenght stronger than a brick
Wondering if life on you is playing its usual trick
As the clocks move on with each and every single tick

One day
Like all the living you will die
Mothers will moan and sigh
As the watch you dissolve as you lie
And some people for you will cry
While others silently say goodbye

For we are ordinary people
With binary feelings
Always concealing
What is blatantly revealing

So let’s all stand up in unity
Preserve the last of our dignity
Make changes glaring with productivity
Perhaps then earth can breathe in infinity

She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl

(Robert Jason)
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She don't love carelessly that's what I've always heard
'Can't use the usual lines she measures every word
No empty promises proof is what it takes to win her heart
The truth and nothing less, simple things that set her far apart
Save your diamonds and your furs she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
No midnight alibis, no foolish games for her
And if you cross the line you'll get what you deserve
But when you see her smile nothing seems to matter anymore
And in a little while you'll feel like you've never felt before
Like no other in the world, she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
Save your diamonds and your furs, she ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary

Steeple

I see ordinary people
pouring in and out of steeples
living ordinary lives
learning ordinary lies
they learn; they earn - life passes by
they buy; they die - they never ask, 'WHY? ! '

I usually write about ordinary people and ordinary things, but Paul Farmer is the least ordinary person I've ever met... He's the leader of a small group of people who hope to cure a sick world, and I hope my book can help in some small way.

How Many People

How many people stand in a line?
How many people never get a chance to shine?
If you can tell me Ill gladly listen
How many people have died?
One too many right now for me
I want to be happy, I want to be free,
One too many tight now for me
I want to see ordinary people living peacefully.
How many people, go for a ride
How many people, never make it through to the other side?
If you can tell me, Ill gladly listen,
How many people have cried?
One too many right now for me
I want to be happy,
I want to be free,
One too many tight now for me
I want to see ordinary people living peacefully.
How many people, will I take? how many people
For goodness sake?
How many people?
How many people?
One too many ...

Eat the Rich

Well I woke up this morning on the wrong side of the bed
And how I got to thinkin' about all the things you said
About ordinary people and how they make you sick
And if callin' names kicks back on you then I hope this does the trick

'Cause I'm sick of your complainin' about how many bills
And I'm sick of all your bitchin' about your poodles and your pills
And I just can't see no humour about your way of life
And I think I can do more for you with this here fork and knife

Have you ever been sick?

Have you ever been sick?
Walked that hospital floor with a stick
Have you ever been sick?
Had an operation painted graphically horrific

My knees, weak they felt
I heard their voices melt
Into pain from poor health
For them rebirth or death sickness spelt

Suddenly I realized life is not static
While listening to a tale so tragic
A mother cried at sicknesses trick
Her family of four it decided to pick

At any time we can lose
Anyone sickness decides to abuse!

Have you ever been sick?
In vain visited numerous clinics
Have you ever been sick?
Wondering where life will next kick

Have you ever had a cough?
Thinking you are having it so rough

Have you ever suffered from heat?
Knowing others gave up there in defeat

Have you suffered from cuts?
Or open wounds that severely hurt

Have you ever looked at the sick?
And thought anyone of them eccentric

Health is wealth and good health for sure
Is created by thoughts that are deemed pure
While the clock goes tick-tock-tick
If you ever find yourself sick
It helps to eliminate the negative traffic
With more than just a mere flick

There is nothing
Exceptional,
Nothing special
With me,

I am just ordinary

In decency, in status,
I am what you call
the average man,
Of no special rank
Of lesser significance

I am found
In the most common
Places, undistinguished
in the most common men
in the market, in the mall,
in the park, in the beach,
in the streets, in the church,
in anywhere in everywhere

I am what you see
As plain, the usual
The most customary
that you meet &
easily forget

I am the
Normal person that you
Shake hands with,
whose name
does not linger
long enough in your mind

I live in the many
I am the numerous
I breathe the common Air
I drink the water
For everyone
I smell like the
Sweat of the rest
I look like everyone
Because I am the average
Because I am the ordinary

But without me
You will never be
Special

In truth it is us
The common ones
In this whole world
The background
These ordinary
Occurrences and
Resemblances

That make you
Exist,

We, the average,
We, the people of this world
We are the ordinary
And you cannot
Disregard us,

We are the many,
And we can always
Disregard you
If we really want to

we make you
and we can always unmake you

mister special..

Ordinary Girl

I see her there in her plain print dress and her fading youth
Something about her opens up my soul
Something about her speaks the truth
When the sky is falling
She makes the world go away baby and I tell the truth
Theres a plainness and a sameness to her touch
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Oh shes just an ordinary girl
I say I love you I know its just an ordinary sound
We make love in our ordinary house
Yeah its built on common ground and we know it baby
We go out walking on an friday night in ordinary town
Theres a sameness and a plainness to it all
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Yeah shes just an ordinary girl
Another day, another battle
We shake the cage, our sabers rattle
Nothing that matters comes easy
Nothing that comes easy ever really matters
Oh (everything I am) shes an ordinary girl (anything I plan)
I love her (for everything that I stand)
Shes an ordinary girl (Im just an ordinary man)
Yeah shes (in everything I do) just an ordinary girl
(in everything thats true) I love her (in everything I plan)
Just an ordinary girl (Im an ordinary man)...

Ordinary Life

Sinking fast, hold tight
Just remember ordinary life
More trouble, than its worth
Know it when you see the sign
Nothing feels right, step out of line
Just remember ordinary mind
Nagging wife, starts a fight
Trying to make you uptight
Workaholic, on your bike
Take a look at it in the daylight
Nothing feels right, step out of line
Think ordinary mind
Ordinary life, be my rock in times of trouble
Get me back on the earth
Put my feet on the ground
Keep on pushing, make it useful
Do what youve gotta do
Keep on moving, keep on doing
Combat ordinary strife
Need a woman, be my friend
Understand ordinary life
Ordinary life, be my rock in times of trouble
Bring me down to earth
Keep my feet on the ground
Keep on pushing, make it useful
Do what you have to do
Keep on working, keep on doing
Combat ordinary strife
Need a woman, be my friend
Understand ordinary life.

Are persons people?

and he says
you don’t write poetry to please people, you know
that’s with a comma after people
you write poems to please you
with shock lines like I still treasure
our first condom oh my love
to show that you’re cool and hip

but she says why write poems at all
if they don’t please people
men have such egos I suppose
it’s because they can’t have babies

but who are people anyway, how
many persons make a people or
how few persons and are they
a random mix or is there like
a recipe, some of this lot some of that

he says people who know about these things
like poetry but how do you know
which are the people who know
I’m not sure I know he knows for a start

and she says well ordinary people
so what then do you slide up
to a bus queue when there’s no
bus in sight and say look you’re
ordinary people I’ve been looking for you
yeah watch them give you a nasty look
and skedaddle pretending they remembered
they were due some place else

I’m beginning to wonder if people really exist
I mean as such but I’ll have to stop there
my PC says it’s run out of virtual memory
that’s another thing I don’t understand
maybe people are just a virtual memory too
I’m beginning to wonder if anyone knows
what *people* should think about poetry
maybe they should just write it throw it away
see who picks it up and not never nohow talk about
other *people’s* poetry

Before We Get Any Closer

(r.j. scott/ c. stevens)
Producer for bonnie: r.j. scott
Before we get any closer
Before we let it begin
Before our feelings take over us
I wanna tell you one thing
Im just an ordinary girl
Who needs some love in her life
I wont pretend to me more than I am
Ive had some lovers before
But now I need something more
Than just a meaningless holding of hands
Im just an ordinary girl
Who wants to reach out and find
Someone who honestly feels like I do
Love is so a fragile thing Id sooner never begin
Than to find out too late, its not true
Before we get any closer
Before we tell any lies
Before we make any promises
We really ought to decide
Is this a casual event
Two ships that pass in the night
Could we find heaven out there just one time
Or are we closer than close
With deeper feelings and most
Could ever know for the whole of their lives
Before we get any closer
Before we two become us
I need to know if youll always be
Someone to totally trust
Im just an ordinary girl
Who needs some love in her life
I wont pretend to me more than I am
Ive had some lovers before
But now I need something more
Than just a meaningless holding of hands
Is this the casual event
Two ships that pass in the night
Could we find heaven out there just one time
Or are we closer than close
With deeper feelings and most
Couldnt ever know for the whole of their lives

Environmental Pollution

Environmental pollution
Is a collision of masses of waste particles
That requires an immediate solution

My heart saddens when I realise
There will come a time when all rainforests
Will turn to barren stretched marked lands
When rivers will be invaded by all weather pests

I wish we could plant a tree next door
Control the toxic waste released into our waters
Control the toxic waste released into our atmosphere
I despair and fear because I care
About what we breathe in from the air

Help! environmental pollution
Technological advancement has its negative sides
Smoke, smog & waste is mixing with carbon dioxide

Everyday toxic chemicals we are releasing
And fresh water reserves are decreasing

So help, help
Help find a solution
To Environmental Pollution

The air we consume
Is polluted with all kinds of fumes
If we continue like this
We shall be doomed
We shall be doomed!

Noble and Genleman

You are not messiah, messenger or angel
Simple man on earth written in fairy’s tale
I salute to your great work but made never known
You stand as shining star and absolutely well known

People say “you are noble and gentleman”
To them you are simple and ordinary man
I know you do nothing extra ordinary
But remain among them when necessary

You are neither a social worker nor a religious person
Yet loved by them and held in high esteem by various reasons
You gave nothing of any kind that might have benefited them
Still more and more plants were coming out from stem

Why and how such transformation has taken place?
You have no personal interest or any ambition to chase
Why do the people see in you great reformer?
Where as you work little and act as only informer

You remain close their heart and guide on small matters
May be concerning to them as little earners
Still there is strong bond and you convey with sincerity
What can be good for them in terms of good quality?

Some of the people may know everything but disclose little
This may land people in problems and don’t allow to settle
They won’t trust other people who do nothing and misguide
Cheat and deceive when time comes and politely hide

You stood among them as torch bearers
Not serious leader but as respectable teacher
Not recognized from any of the big universities
But simple thinker with noble turn out and niceties

World may not take note of you at large
But you have made place in people’s heart
You may not receive noble prize or any of the reward
Millions of heart may raise their hands as award

Let your statues not come up to be unveiled
Let your work may be forgotten or failed
Still that may be widely recognized when time comes
They may shed tears in recognition and welcome

Ordinary Worship

Ordinary people in this life, are used for God through Jesus Christ,
To help other men come to see, what He has done for you and me.
First worship begins in our hearts; it’s where all true worship starts,
And true worship, you will find, is with all your heart, soul and mind.

We seek God in an ordinary way, and to The Lord we humbly pray,
We worship God in Spirit and Truth, with no need of a sign or proof,
Knowing that He’s a God of Love, we lift our heart to heaven above.
Not confined by just one steeple, we worship as a universal people.

Ordinary people from every nation, become as one in His Salvation,
Saved by One Extraordinary God, to serve Him wherever men trod.
We direct our worship to God above, expressing to Him all our love,
And thankfulness for His only Son, God’s gift unmatched by anyone.

Our worship is mediated by Christ, who died to give all men new life,
A life of service we devote to Him, who died as a sacrifice for our sin.
Worship is performed in The Spirit, and a blessing to all who hear it,
As believers we gather corporately, to praise The King of all Eternity.

With hearts bowing in submission, to The Lord’s Great Commission,
Filled with reverence and in awe, of Christ, The King and Lord of all,
Prepared for service and ministry, for The Lord and God of Eternity,
Are ordinary people saved by Christ, to be an extraordinary sacrifice.

The Pleasures of Ordinary Life

I've had my share of necessary losses,
Of dreams I know no longer can come true.
I'm done now with the whys and the becauses.
It's time to make things good, not just make do.
It's time to stop complaining and pursue
The pleasures of an ordinary life.

I used to rail against my compromises.
I yearned for the wild music, the swift race.
But happiness arrived in new disguises:
Sun lighting a child's hair. A friend's embrace.
Slow dancing in a safe and quiet place.
The pleasures of an ordinary life.

I'll have no trumpets, triumphs, trails of glory.
It seems the woman I've turned out to be
Is not the heroine of some grand story.
But I have learned to find the poetry
In what my hands can touch, my eyes can see.
The pleasures of an ordinary life.

Young fantasies of magic and of mystery
Are over. But they really can't compete
With all we've built together: A long history.
Connections that help render us complete.
Ties that hold and heal us. And the sweet,
Sweet pleasures of an ordinary life.

Equality's What You Need To Pusue

In a time of recession whilst poverty is rife,
As ordinary people struggle to get by,
Winter will take just more than one life,
For want of heating people will die.

But wait a minute all will now be fine,
The royals say another baby is due,
Our thoughts on despair we must now realign,
We must exalt another of the chosen few.

All over the world this makes headline news,
We must forget all about world recession,
It's the media as well as Kate who spews,
All this does is increase my depression.

Are the ‘'ORDINARY ‘' people really that naïve?
To think all their troubles are now over,
You'd need to be thick to actually believe,
Our fields are now filled up with clover.

Out of touch with reality is what royals are,
Like the rich and our politicians,
The fact we fund them is totally bizarre,
As well as their constant additions.

While they live in luxury we freeze to death,
They overeat while we all starve,
Their heating's full on we have ice on our breath,
As their Christmas roast beef servants carve.

Thou shalt not worship false gods we are told,
Yet to them we must curtsey or bow,
While we're struggling they're being bankrolled,
This madness we encourage and allow.

Inequality is rife in this sick world of ours,
We're the majority why should this be,
This attitude towards them leaves a taste that sours,
We are the reason we will never be free.

Why do we allow these parasites to reign?
There is nobody on Earth better than you,
To worship the privileged is totally insane,

The king is extraordinary.

Honour is made for human functions.

A monarch is not extraordinary;
The ordinary people make him so.
Unless he is made extraordinary
He could not rule the ordinary ones.

The extraordinary must respect
The demand of the honour bestowed
On him by the ordinary people,
And must act to be extraordinary.

Masters must honour the headmaster,
Who must respect the demand of honour
Expected of him by other masters,
Failing which he will lose his status.

Work! Work! And Reap!

Work! Work! Work! And Reap!
Work! Work! Work! And Sleep!

Everyday most of we work
Some of us love to work
Some of us just want to rock
Some of us want to lie on a beach or take a walk
If we had our way, we could spend all day and talk

But work we all must
Or our lifestyles will go bust!
We may then have to readjust
To unacceptable standards of living in disgust

Work! Work! Work! And Reap!
Work! Work! Work! And Sleep!

We all have different professions
Some of us have silent confessions
We fancy someone at work with an obsession
Work is then fun with a passion until confusion

Work! Work! Work! And Reap!
Work! Work! Work! And Sleep!

There are jobs that are monotonous
The atmosphere is negatively outrageous
Nothing in the air signifies hilarious
Every single person is always very serious

Sometimes played at work
Is the kind of politics
That makes one quite sick
This is where the strong kick
Kick hardest the backside of the weak

But work we all must
Or our lifestyles will go bust!
As we find ourselves lost
And then try hard to readjust

So do we swallow?
Or is fighting back shallow
Will it leave in your pocket a dent that is hollow?
Or produce a scene labeled horror
Enough to leave you in tears of sorrow

I don't have all the answers
I know work is a living cancer
People at work ought to be a little nicer
Everyone needs to make a living including a dancer!

Know Your Talent

You are mistaken if you think of your talent
You will be shown exit with bad comment
You may be forced to believe what has gone wrong
You can’t make people fool with your sweet words and song

They will move around for courageous stand
They may even closely follow and try to be friend
But they will forget and shunt you out for silly mistake
As they will see some thing big at risk or at stake

Whole life work may seem to be wasted
Your endurance and patience is tested
People may try to undermine for what you had done or said
They have mistrust in you and remain totally afraid

It is how you create trust wall
Respond to generous and emergency calls
Remain among people for their well being
They want ordinary man and not the king

Neither the high education comes to your rescue
Not your personal strength to supervise or over view
It is man to man contact and real deliverance
The things done with your efforts and in presence

How the flowers boom in beautiful garden?
How our eyes catch few of them then?
They have nothing for them except to praise
We all try to preserve them and beautifully raise

Some of the leaders come up like desert flowers
Come up for short span due to rain and showers
People know about their sudden appearance
But still remember their existence for fragrance

So people may remember well about sacrifice
They too will remember about fulfillment of promises
What they not forget is total turn about and deception
They may totally forbid them and rule them out of question
