Golden-Eyed Day

Golden-eyed day
blazing through trees
swaying,

mockingbirds and blue-jays
clinging
to dancing branches, singing

as a feathered form
flashes darkly past
and is gone in a blinking.

But silence remains,
an empty chair
waiting.

What Weather

The leaves are blowing away
Up, up, and away they go.
Swish, swoosh, they go.
Like a dancing ballerina
Up, up and away they go
Way up , in the sky.

The trees standing there,
Their branches all bare.
The wind whistling throughout empty branches,
The trees look scary, swish, swoosh,
The wind is getting louder,
Throughout the trees it howls

The trees are blowing
From side to side
Like someone dancing swiftly,
The clouds in the sky are moving quietly
Is the weather ever going to change,
What weather it is today

Solitude, Singing

Being alone is knowing
That in in this solitary splendour
Solitude, stark and staring,
Solitude, singing a lullaby
Solitude, singing a dirge
Surrounded by so many sundry things;
Things seen and unseen
Factors known and unknown
Solitude singing softly, chanting without ranting
Solitude’s songs that sing of solemn things

Silence singing golden songs
Silence healing ancient wrongs
If only silence could be
More than a memory
More than history
Silence can be more than words
Empty words echoing in an empty world
Echoing in empty valleys
Silence unspoken, unspoken, unbroken
Transfixed by time.

Golden Tree

In the dark late night she appeared
A golden tree dancing
Before a sky of azure blue
Somewhat purple hued.

Her branches grew haphazardly
Playing hide and seek with cirrus clouds.
Inside she prayed for rain to shine upon her.

Through a kaleidoscope she could read the songs
Of her wounded soul,
Although the approaching dawn was blackening.

Electric blue were the eyes of midnight.
Mistrustful, they hid behind a wall of deceit
This golden tree danced in the early morning breeze,
As she shivered to ward away the fallen snow.

She wept for all of the hurt through which she lived.
When she read the world through that kaleidoscope,
There were none but scattered shards of broken glass

“Dance and dance”
All tell this golden tree,
For she shall grow when the sun rains upon her gilded heart.
She is loved, in all her lustrous glory.

Red birds of ardor,
Robins with their breasts of copper,
And the new moss that grows upon her fragile trunk
Shall arrive within a vessel christened “springtime.”

She reaches out with agile limbs
To trees with silver branches
Swaying to and fro,
Dropping leaves with veins of woven silk,
That wilt with each and every touch.

In the dim moonlight when the air is bittersweet
There appears a golden tree that dances,
Far from where the rippling creek is crawling over
Gemstones dampened by the rain.

Against a sky of azure blue
Touched with purple hues
A lithe, dancing golden tree can be found
In any place, time or realm,
She could be you or me-
Perhaps anyone’s wounded soul,
Where its world seen through a kaleidoscope
Is none but a shattered dream…

Transubstantiation

Golden eyed, blazing
through summer trees
gently swaying
you blind me,
bind your warm hands
to my sluggish brow
and ignite me with your holy flame.

My heart, fiery and free
soars high, with you
always beside me

Leading me
through dissolving mists
‘til pure at last,
at last I see

You’re filling me
with your eternal mind,

making of me your sacred bread,
your free-flowing
wine.

Dancing In The Moonlight

Walking in the rain far away from nowhere.
No more noise, just silence and the music thats in my brain.
Walking through the night, a different atmosphere.
No more noise, just silence and the sound thats in my ear.
Im just dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Walking down the hill listening to the trees.
No more noise, just silence and the raindrops on my shoes.
Walking down the beach sparkling lights on the water.
No more noise, just silence and by the way Im feeling free.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im just dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.
Im dancing, dancing in the moonlight.

Slow Dancing

(jack tempchin)
Its late at night and were all alone
With just the music of the radio
No ones comin, no ones gonna telephone
Just me and him and the lights down low
And were slow dancing, swaying to the music
Slow dancing, just me and my guy
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
In the whole wide world
And we just float together when the lights are low
And the shadows dancing across the wall
The musics playing so soft and slow
And the rest of the worlds so far away and small
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
Slow dancing, just me and my guy
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
In the whole wide world
Hold me, please hold me
Dont ever let me go
And as we dance together in the dark
Theres so much love in this heart of mine
He whispers to me and I hold him tight
Hes the one I thought Id never find
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
Slow dancing, just me and my guy
Slow dancing, swaying to the music
No one else in the whole wide world
In the whole wide world

I Wish I Were a Flower

Oh I wish I were a flower
A most beautiful flower
This is my dream
With the gentle breeze
In the springtime I will
Hop out of my earthen bed

Listen to the sweet
Chirping of the blue jays
Singing me love songs
Standing tall waiting
For kisses from Heaven
To rain down on me

When you come by
I will smile
Knowing someday-
I will brighten your home
With the sun
Stored in my petals

Later with the warmth
Of the golden sunshine
I will open my petals wide
Waiting for my love-
The honey bee
To come and savour me

For how much blessed
Could I ever be than
To be a beautiful flower
A most beautiful flower
For your enjoyment
For your pleasure

Chime Bells

Key:
Y - yodel
Ly - long yodel
Rly - really long yodel
Up on a mountain so gay and so free..huh huh
There is a young man and hes waiting there for me
Out on the lake, well drift with the tide
And hear those chime bells ring
Chime bells are ringing...y
Mockingbirds theyre singing...y
Hush, little lover...y
Up on a summers eve or eave...
Ly
Moonbeams were shining as I kissed him there. (kiss)
Nightbirds were singing and darkness filled the air
Each little star that twinkled above
Was heaven that smiled on our love
Chime bells are ringing...y
Mockingbirds theyre singing...y
Hush, little lover...y
Up on a summers eve...
Rly
Rly (faster)
Should I go faster?
Rly (even faster)
Rly (faster still, usually a capella)
(by this time your eyes are bulging)
Ly
* chime bells (y=yodeling) *
As transcribed by atz kilcher
Up on a mountain so gay and so free..
There is a young man and hes waiting there for me
Out on the lake, well drift with the tide
And hear those chime bells ring
Chime bells are ringing...y
Mockingbirds are singing...y
Hush, little lover...y
Up on a summers eve or eave...
Moonbeams were shining as I kissed him there.(swack)
Nightbirds were singing and perfume filled the air
Each little star that twinkled above
Was heaven that smiled on our love

The Death of Silence

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When even the soundless creature
Leave an echo
When the quiet evening sky
Speaks more volume

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When the darkness of night
Is calmed by the song of stars
When this cruel and frightening world
Is cheered by the joy of life

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When the trees swaying their branches
Whispering the news from afar
When the stone awaken to tell the story
And no more secret remains hidden

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When the wind fills the void
And noises the ears
When the sunshine touches the skin
And screams in eyes

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When you could taste the heart
Inside the food you eat
When you could understand
The meaning the breath that taken

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When smile is enough
To erase the rotten doubt
When love is abundant
To wash the bitter pain

Let's celebrate the day
The death of silence
When the soul finds its freedom
And not chained in the grief of body
When the call is passing
Through the memory and time

Silent Music

Palm branches moving in the afternoon breeze,
rhythmically dancing with the other trees.
Swaying here and there with a tropical flair
to melodic music that isn’t there.
They sense Mother Nature’s inspiring touch
and display their thanks by moving thus.

Protagonist

Tears had once fallen from inside
Every part of me-
A breeze rustles the barren branches on the trees
In the midwinter, here where
Fear, anger and mistrust have for so long been the enemy.
I can envision something magical about every bough upon every tree, while
The sound of the wind calms me.
I watch the branches upon the surrounding trees move about
As ballerinas dancing-
A symphony is playing inside of my mind-
Every thought transforming fear toward enchantment-
I also am dancing to the melody of the wind.
As snow begins to fall,
I can clearly see a pathway blazing before me now.
I am in union with nature as the deer running wild,
Trees scraping the sky and the uniqueness of every snowflake
Has obliterated the anguish and suddenly all that once tormented me
Has been lost behind me now as I keep stepping forward, into the
Glory of the wilderness-
My only care now is what the future holds-
As I leave the past behind me, buried beneath feet of snow-
This prospect has become a stage before me filled with hope where
The protagonist could be me, courageously fighting my fears, as
A symphony continues to play inside of my mind, music being nature’s bounty-
I have searched and found my safe haven here where
I have become a winner in the theatrical game of life.

Trees

Green with spendour when Summer's here,
Brown contender in Autumn's sphere,
Bare the branches in Winter's embrace,
New growth created, when Spring shows her face.

Stalwart trunks, with many years standing,
Leaves when over, steadily landing,
Branches swaying in the breeze,
How I love all kinds of trees.

Forests of green, where they all meet,
Swaying together as they all greet,
Each morning, when the light appears,
Each growing slowly over the years.

Sentinels of the land they survey,
Strong and upstanding in every way,
Graceful, mighty, powerful and fine,
Tall and sleek just like the Pine.

The Oak, Ash, Sycamore and Lime,
The Rowan, White Beam and Silver Birch sublime,
Each one giving of their glorious best,
To the World - The World's been blest.

What would we do without our trees,
Don't cut them down, will you please,
Remember how they give us shade,
From the sun, within the glade.

Stand and study these majestic creations,
Upright descendants of past relations,
Their dignity, against all weathers,
If it were us, we'd lose our tethers.

But these gallant trees require our care,
They give oxygen, in the air
That we breathe, so, if we want to survive,
Let us keep our trees alive.

Fireflies

On a moonless night,
With icy winds chilling my spine.
I sat down on the footsteps of my cottage;
Wondering what an empty night that was.
No sound of vehicles or people;
What a perfect silence!
I was wondering.
Just as i stood to leave,
In the mist i saw small flashes.
Dazed and bewildered in its beauty I stood;
A beauty out of the world!
First i saw only the flashes,
But then i realized.
They were dancing to a beat of their own!
A flawless silent choreography.
I felt out of the world;
A night to be remembered forever!

That's my school

Up at my school
everyone is different
yet we are treated
like an equal

everyone is always smiling
or laughing so hard
they start to cry
that's my school

a lot of people
go through my school
home of the blue jays
to cool for school

standing tall upon the hill
behind all the trees
stands the blue jay's school
yup, that's my school

each person is unique
form the clothes
to the hair
to their personality

each person is free
to express themselves
and be who they want
that's my school

WHS blue jay pride
that's something
that can never be beat
and something that we can't hide

friends come and go
but one thing will live on
the pride we had for our team
just like my school did

no matter where I go
or how far I leave town
I'll always be proud to say
WHS in WashMo is my school.

Nature' S Kindergarten

Deep, blue sky,
Overcast
With clouds white.
Gentle breeze
Kissing the branches, trees, leaves
And the nascent buds in between
Caressing
The concrete crust.

Stronger it blows
Trees take to the floor
Branches conduct the choir
White to grey
Synergy high
Bang the floor
Dance
To tunes of thunder
Lightening strikes
In the milieu
Pours the virile
The entire show
In silence bids bye.
