A melody of serenity fills the silence of the light fading sky
A life filled with tenderness and the years did really rush by
The branches of happiness kept growing never did run dry
As Marie touches sixteen her youthful face flashes a radiant smile
'Happy bday' my lips touched her 'flower soft' tanned cheeks
An adult journey begins as she with liveliness innocently seeks·
The sun rises another day, another year she stands to face
As she sets sail with dignity in life's tedious rocky race.

In Toronto A Bday Celebration 2012

Time moved on and in the land of the sand dues
I sing the famous unforgettable that annual tune
Suddenly I see the fifteen year old no longer small
But a very precious handsome young man ever so tall
Far away across the Atlantic he spends this day
And I recapture those moments we then shared every day
His face wears that oh so dynamic boyish smile
His sister gels his hair, grooms to his desired style
The tear streaked face now I do so rarely see
But many a caring words a gentle kiss, comforting me
A pleasure a treasure a sense of contentment
As he spread the rainbow of happiness with less dent
Thank you dear grandson for the sunshine in my life
May your journey be blessed with the best and never a strife
Starry days be yours on this your bday with every sunrise
Near or far you will always my best ever special prize!

A Laugh -- And A Moan

The brook that down the valley
So musically drips,
Flowed never half so brightly
As the light laugh from her lips.

Her face was like the lily,
Her heart was like the rose,
Her eyes were like a heaven
Where the sunlight always glows.

She trod the earth so lightly
Her feet touched not a thorn;
Her words wore all the brightness
Of a young life's happy morn.

Along her laughter rippled
The melody of joy;
She drank from every chalice,
And tasted no alloy.

Her life was all a laughter,
Her days were all a smile,
Her heart was pure and happy,
She knew not gloom nor guile.

She rested on the bosom
Of her mother, like a flower
That blooms far in a valley
Where no storm-clouds ever lower.

And -- 'Merry, merry, merry!'
Rang the bells of every hour,
And -- 'Happy, happy, happy!'
In her valley laughed the flower.

There was not a sign of shadow,
There was not a tear nor thorn,
And the sweet voice of her laughter
Filled with melody the morn.

Years passed -- 'twas long, long after,
And I saw a face at prayer;
There was not a sign of laughter,
There was every sign of care.

For the sunshine all had faded
From the valley and the flower,
And the once fair face was shaded
In life's lonely evening hour.

Happy Bday Across the Sand Dunes...4th Feb 2011

Melina
The ticking of the clock n soon came the beautiful day,
Laughter, cries, tears, cheers, memries to treasure till this day.
Many years and with sweetness, you kissed my tears away.
The smile upon your face, my fears had less chances to stay.
And now I... awake.. it is reality, as into the world outside,
You bravely travel, on your own, confused i step aside.
My job will be, still always undone, though decades fly.....
Perfected a quality, good grace with a dignified style,
Chin up.. you gently tread with your loyal sis and angelic kids
Another year, another bday and many surprise awaits you.
Your sis, couzin, aunt n kids in Wet Lanka have plans too...

My Love Outshines The Summer Sun (Sonnet Corona)

(after William Shakespeare)

I

My love outshines the summer sun,
even stars in their remote twinkling light
and her eyes are more beautiful, each one
than the stars glimmering at night

Her cheeks is dimpled cute
her hair is an auburn crown,
her cheeks is rosy beyond repute
her hair is sun-shot twisting in a way of their own.

Her lips are more soft and warm
and her spirit is more mild
than a ray of light falling on my arm
or at times more free and wild

than birds where they fly,
my love is like the radiant sapphire sky.

II

My love is like the radiant sapphire sky
like the breeze rustling through trees
so lovely on my eye,
eager to please.

My love is like the summer sun,
like the blue hued sea
always warm and full of fun,
touching me gently

even when the darkness calls
and when time goes to its finality
like a star her light still falls,
my love stays true to me

in every thing her face I see
so gentle, sweet and free.

III

So gentle, sweet and free
my love lives her life
but I long for her to be near to me
in a world without any strive.

Like a lily prospering alone in the marsh
blooming pure and serene,
my darling lives unknown to a world harsh
out of control, away from the limelight scene

and in that rural place
her beauty is untouched by makeup,
filled with a sweet grace
and even in the morning when she wakes up

the sun is in her hair,

My darling is really fair
there are stars in her eyes,
she’s the most beautiful flower found anywhere,
her eyes are much more pure than the bluest skies.

When she smiles at me,
smiling tenderly,
I in her smile blessings see
as if love is there in all of its glory.

Still more so the bliss
that is caught in her kiss
that comes from the divine
which she is making mine

and sometimes the beauty makes her cry,
when the day flutters by.

When the day flutters by
with the sun setting red
you will find my love and I
where stars come out from bed,

then like a butterfly
the sun kisses the night,
touches the dark low and high
before it goes by with its last light

and she unloosens my tie
while we watch the full yellow moon,
while the fire in her eyes lie
sparkling, much brighter than the sunny afternoon,

but with a passing bat flying low she catches a fright,
while the stars are shining bright.

VII

While the stars are shining bright
like jewels in the sky’s crown
on a winter night
it has tranquillity, a beauty of its own,

her eyes are radiant,
as if aflame
lovely and brilliant
and of some she know the name

and something indiscernibly small
creeps into the very soul, into the heart
and of it that is all,
a smouldering, something with which we cannot part:

to me she remains the only one in joy and fun,
my love outshines the summer sun.

If I were young as you, Sixteen,
And you were old as I,
I would not be as I have been,

The golden days go by,

Soft and tenderly,
A breeze comes to me...
And then it leaves.
Quick and fresh it is.
Taking me within in its midst,
Ever gently.

Then it goes.

How it flows to tease with blowing,
No one knows.

The sky clear and crisp.

Beautiful

Beautiful is the rising sun
that touches the dark world
glowing red hot,
like a coal from the fire
of the gods

Beautiful is the crystal blue sky
that stretches to the horizon,
with its purity and brings serenity
to every living thing.

Beautiful is the yellow moon
that awakens dreams,
of how wondrous
life on this earth
really is.

Beautiful is a wave
crashing over a rocky shore,
that sprays the intensity
and mysteries of nature
on the earth.

Yet all of these things
fade away into insignificance
against the smile on your face
and nothing can describe,
the light and expression
in your golden eyes.

You are far more
than beautiful to me
and no white Lily

As We Walk Alone
Happy bday to you dear sister we have just each other
Today we celebrate your bday with no more brothers
Mum and dad we have now no more
we walk togheter with our hearts sore
Memories we shared laughter through our tears
It comes back with joys and sorrows through the years
The growing up years as orphans togehter we stood
We braved stormy days through our bluey moods
Hard times bring us memories knowing each other
Seeking cushioned comforts we besowed on one another
Through harsh words we made an unusal pair
The love in our hearts spoke when we were in despair

Its a fine quality that we share and that sure is fine

Sparkling Bits of Ice

The wind gently howls through the air
And the sun shines brightly through the grey clouds

Leaves have fallen off the trees
Their branches are moving along with the wind

As time slowly comes to the sunset in the sky
The colors from its glow begin to spread all around

The sunset has faded from the sky at a slow rate
The moon begins to wake up from its long slumber

Night has filled the spaces all over the sky
With the stars scattered around with their bright light

Midnight has arrived and the moon glows brightly

One Face

One face in a crowd is hard to find.
One face in that crowd is on my mind.
How can I find the face of one,
The face that to me is like the sun?

Shiny and bright with a radiant glow,
The face that picks me up when I'm low,
Eyes that light up wherever they are
Just like the splendor of an evening star,

Lips that break into the sweetest smile
That lingers for me for the longest while,
Hair that surrounds that face like a frame
That always sets my heart aflame.

I search all the faces but cannot see
The one that means the world to me.
I'm lost. I'm wretched. This should not be.
There are too many faces. I'm lost at sea.

One last glance and to my surprise
There's your face, your smile, your eyes.
The crowd's still there but not for me.
For the face I love is all I see.

As Fourteen He Touches!

Mother’s day’ and came a gentle voice with innocence so manly...
‘Biggy thank you for loving me’ his heart spoke so lovingly’
and Of course its my best ‘gem’ rare, he is my wonderful grandson
A gift a real blessing, a heavenly strength under god’s son
A grandson is a joy the greatest treasure from the sky above.
As His thoughtfulness, concern special is filled with sincere love.
Gracefully he’s grown, a young adult a big man, my teenager!
As the precious memories replay of those inescapable stages.
Of sticky gentle hands wrapped around me in a warm embrace.
His variable fears and his innocent tear streaked messy face.
Bundle of happiness ‘I recall’ holding him in my then strong arms.
Twinkling eyes, face aglow, filled my heart with much charm.
The golden glow of bright sunshine he filled each dawning day.
A guiding light, successfully never failed to shine all the way.
