Death Was Very Genial
In the service of flesh
new vision was perfecting a cult;
silence was going home.
It was not there
freedom of defense for bread, but
I must pay the price of hunger.
The oblique afterthought
compelled by nocturnal infidelity
picks up the black threads,
minute by minute.
Death was very genial.
Comes silently behind the cacti -
across the intelligent green.
One has to pay for touching greatness.
The thoughts will never go
from the unwinking eyes.
I was listening to the footsteps.

Bread Of A Moon
For little grains of truth,
listening to intuition
he disrobed – and walked into river
to die.
In the footsteps of silence
to eat bread of a moon
facing the onslaughts of life.
Death walks in stealthily,
pays the price of hunger
to the ruins of a fortress.

Minute By Minute (Dobbie Brothers)
(Michael McDonaldLester Abrams)
Hey, don't worry, I've been lied to
I've been here many times before
Girl, don't you worry, I know where I stand
I don't need this love, I don't need your hand
I know I could turn, blink, and you'd be gone
Then I must be prepared any time to carry on
But minute by minute by minute by minute
I keep holding on
Oh, minute by minute by minute by minute
I keep holding on
You will stay just to watch me, darlin'
Wilt away on lies from you
Can't stop the habit of livin' on the run
I take it all for granted like you're the only one
Livin' on my own
Somehow that sounds nice
You think I'm your fool
Well, you may just be right
'Cause minute by minute by minute by minute
I keep holding on
Oh, minute by minute by minute by minute
I keep holding on
Call my name and I'll be gone
You'll reach out and I won't be there
Just my luck you'll realize
You should spend your life with someone
You could spend your life with someone
Minute by minute by minute by minute
I'll be holding on
Oh, minute by minute by minute by minute
I'll be holding on...

From Out Of Nowhere
[Faith no More]
Tossed into my mind, stirring the calm
You splash me with beauty
And pull me down
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
Obesession rules me,
I'm yours from the start
I know you see me, our eyes interlock
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
One minute here
And one minute there
Don't know if I'll laugh or cry
One minute here
And one minute there
And then you wave goodbye...
Sifting to the bottom,
Every day for two
All energy funnels, all becomes you
You come from out of nowhere
My glance turns to a stare
One minute here
And one minute there
Don't know if I'll laugh or cry
One minute here
And one minute there
And it hurts inside
One minute here
And one minute there
And then you wave goodbye...

Think For A Minute!
Somethings going on, a change is taking place
Children smiling in the street have gone without a trace
This street used to be full, it used to make me smile
And now it seems that everyone is walking single file
And many hand their heads in shame
That used to hold them high
And those that used to say hello
Simply pass you by
Think for a minute, stop for a minute
Think for a minute, stop for a minute
I always said it could, they never though it would
The people look so pitiful, Im thinking that it should
And now its almost here, now its on its way
I cant help saying told you so and have a nice final day
And nothing I could say
Could ever make them see the light
Now apathy is happy that
It won without a fight
Think for a minute, stop for a minute
Think for a minute, stop for a minute
And many hang their heads in shame that used to hold them high
{think for a minute}
And those that used to say hello simply pass you by
{stop for a minute}
Think for a minute, stop for a minute
Think for a minute, stop for a minute

A Three-Minute Silence (Fun Poem 80)
I once bought a box filled
with old 45 vinyl singles
and buried there amongst them
was one simply called Three Minute Silence.
When I slipped on the record player
and between the hisses and the scratches
three-minute silence is all I got.
There was no music,
no voice raised to sing,
just nothing.
The other side had a tune
and it was so memorable
that I have forgotten what it was.
All I can remember
was the three-minute silence.
Peaceful and golden.

Saint Augustine In Hell
If somebody up there likes me somebody up there cares
Deliver me from evil save me from these wicked snares
Not into temptation, not to cliffs to fall
On to revelation, and lesson for us all
She walked into the room on the arm of my best friend
I knew whatever happened our friendship would end
Chemical reaction, desire at first sight
Mystical attraction, turned out all my lights
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die
I dont know if its pain or pleasure that I seek
My flesh was all too willing, my spirit guide was weak
I was deadly certain thoughts for me werent kind
A switchblade in his pocket, murder on his mind
Blessed st. theresa the whore of babylon
Madonna and my mother all rolled into one
Youve got to understand me, Im not a piece of wood
Francis of assisi could never be this good
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die
Relax, have a cigar, make yourself at home. hell is full of high court
Judges, failed saints. weve got cardinals, archbishops, barristers,
Certified accountants, music critics, theyre all here. youre not alone.
Youre never alone, not here youre not. ok breaks over.
The less I need the more I get
Make me chaste but not just yet
Its a promise or a lie Ill repent before I die
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die
The minute I saw her face the second I caught her eye
The minute I touched the flame I knew it would never die

Fading Night
So this comes to a halt
All these distinguished guests and cult
We have come to conquer eternity
Silently creeping
And them shaking
Giggling's a violation
In this aggression
And come to my feet
from fleeing in speed
Green glowing fog
And all that is not
and turns not
Their end they have sought
and though im compelled, im lost
undescribably unthought
disclose the fleeding crowd
in which i dont find myself proud
of ever looking back
of ever keeping intact
and i know i would
yet i know i wont
ride among the shadows
fly among their thoughts
green held smoke
the fog from the cloud
lack of relentlessness
lack of reality
Black shadows from green meadows
Disapitating, defragmentating
And floathe amongst the air
And the wind blew gentler there
And the moon in its center
The solstice and the dawning
of another world
and another life
no light can blind us
and now we are one with the night.

Every Second
Wayne perry/gerald smith
Well listen dear I think its clear
We need to sit and talk
Seems youve got this notion Ive been having second thoughts
Well I must confess in a way I guess that silly notions true
cause every second youre not here I think of you
Every second, every minute, every hour of every day
Every second theres a thought of you that comes my way
So if you ask that Ive had second thoughts Id have to say
Every second, every minute, every hour of every day.
Now I propose we drink a toast and turn the lights down low
Put our favoritie music on and hold each other close
Dont worry dear youll always be here in my heart to stay
Every second, every minute, every hour of every day
Every second, every minute, love you more and more each day

New York
Harry got up
Dressed all in black
Went down to the station
And he never came back
They found his clothing
Scattered somewhere down the track
And he won't be down on Wall Street
in the morning
He had a home
The love of a girl
But men get lost sometimes
As years unfurl
One day he crossed some line
And he was too much in this world
But I guess it doesn't matter anymore
In a New York minute
Everything can change
In a New York minute
Things can get pretty strange
In a New York minute
Everything can change
In a New York minute
Lying here in the darkness
I hear the sirens wail
Somebody going to emergency
Somebody's going to jail
If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hang on tooth and nail
The wolf is always at the door
In a New York minute
Everything can change
In a New York minute
Things can get a little strange
In a New York minute
Everything can change
In a New York minute
And in these days
When darkness falls early
And people rush home
To the ones they love
You better take a fool's advice
And take care of your own
One day they're here;
Next day they're gone
I pulled my coat around my shoulders
And took a walk down through the park
The leaves were falling around me
The groaning city in the gathering dark
On some solitary rock
A desperate lover left his mark

Silence, ssst
Silence
Silence
Silently, ssst, ssssst, please, ssst
Silence
Silence is my guidance.
Through the jungle of lions.
The only way to survive.
My thoughts need hiding
Silence not a word.
Voices where they from?
silence say no more
Don’t open the door
Or the silence will leave us all.
Silence, silence
Silently they are gone.
Silence, I am alone.
Silence is born
Now I am truly torn
Silently I mourn
That I always was alone.

Baby, Ive changed. please come back.
What the head makes cloudy
The heart makes very clear
The days were so much brighter
In the time when she was here
But I know theres somebody somewhere
Make these dark clouds disappear
Until that day, I have to believe
I believe, I believe

A Minute Of Your Time
For you to think of me
It would only take a minute of your time
To spare one thought for me
Would you miss just one minute of your time?
When you are far away
I'd like to be part of your time each day
So think of me
A minute of your time
Is all it takes to bring us close
When we are far apart
And if I'm on your mind
I know that there's a chance
You'll ind that I'm there in your heart
One minute ev'ry day
May help to keep the wolf away
Until that moment you are back to stay
But better still I'd like to think of me
Ev'ry minute of your time.

I am not hungry
I am not hungry
Hunger is not mine
I am free from hunger.
Hunger is a butterfly
Come to it and welcome it
Wonderland you reach
Without hunger
You could not move an inch
And how you changed yourself
Hunger will tell
Wait a minute.

Getting Closer
Written: stock aitken waterman
1:
You caught my eye
Im looking at you baby
The way you let your body move me
You look so fine
Come a little closer
I know that we can do it
I feel that we can make it
I feel you getting closer
Minute by minute by minute
Ohh-ohh
Chorus:
Day by day and night by night
I feel you getting closer
Bit by bit and move by move
I feel you getting closer
Minute by minute (by minute)
2:
If you were mine
Id never want another
cause youre doing something to me
If it takes all night
For us to be together
Youre love is worth the waiting
I feel it growing stronger
I feel know its getting closer

Johan Ludvig Heiberg 1860
To the grave they bore him sleeping,
Him the aged, genial gardener;
Now the children gifts are heaping
From the flower-bed he made.
There the tree that he sat under,
And the garden gate is open,
While we cast a glance and wonder
Whether some one sits there still.
He is gone. A woman only
Wanders there with languid footsteps,
Clothed in black and now so lonely,
Where his laughter erst rang clear.
As a child when past it going,
Through the fence she looked with longing,
Now great tears so freely flowing
Are her thanks that she came in.
Fairy-tales and thoughts high-soaring
Whispered to him 'neath the foliage.
She flits softly, gathering, storing
Them as solace for her woe.
*
Far his wanderings once bore him,
Bore this aged, genial searcher;
One who listening sat before him
Much could learn from time to time.
Life and letters were his ladder
Up toward that which few discover,
Thought's wide realm, with vision gladder
He explored, each summit scaled.
In his manhood he defended
All that greatness has and beauty;
Later he the stars attended
In their silent course to God.
*
Older men remember rather
"New Year!" ringing o'er the Northland.
How it power had to gather
Leaders to a greater age
Do you him remember leaping
Forth, his horn so gladly winding,
Back the mob on all sides sweeping
From the progress of the great?
Play of thought 'mid tears and laughter,
Fauns and children were about him;
Freedom's beacons high thereafter
Kindled slowly of themselves.
And his words soon found a hearing,
Peace of heart flowed from his music;
All the land thrilled to the nearing
Of a great prophetic choir.
**
In his manhood he defended
All that greatness has and beauty;
Later he the stars attended
In their silent course to God.
Northern flowers were his pleasure,
As an aged genial gardener,
From his nation's springtime treasure
Culling seed for deathless growth.
Now with humor, now sedately,
He kept planting or uprooting,
While the Danish beech-tree stately
Gave his soul its evening peace.
There the tree we saw him under,
And the garden gate is open,
While we cast a glance and wonder
Whether some one sits there still.
