Vanguard
Even the tortoise
Carries its own citadel,
The babel of voices
Can collapse to total silence,
And the song of sparrows
Don't they mean anything?
The cigarette suspended in your lips
And the lisping of your eyes
The city's sentry of lights
Or the heart's cacophonous rhythm;
Can you smell the stench of fear
One thousand stride away from your reach
But surreptitiously stockpiling bricks
Old as your flesh of stone
In the threadbare defense of heart?
Aren't we desperate with hunger?
Aren't we thirsty for safety and bliss?
What artillery can you yield
Against the famished hunters?
What armada can defeat
The enemy inside our holes?
Like an obstinate beetle
I wore an armour of a ruse
Deluding the melanin of the night
But underhandedly flickering iridescence
I dug a hole to the ground -
A grave for all the merciless struggling
The silence of the shadow was my roar
And this defense is my leonine grace
For in this savage platoon of truth
There's no chance to dodge the bullets
Unless you immolate yourself
Before the superfluity of fingers
And it takes courage to be unafraid.

I Built a Citadel to Burn
The superfluity of adamant nights and babel of storms
Tarried and wrecked the quietude of my sleepy home
Desperately I groped for a banister, for a reeling rope
A lynch for long abeyance or a pallid streak of hope
But this town is already a wraith of its own ghosts
And perish is near, unabashed to morph a colossus form
Brick atop a brick, a tourniquet of bastion I built
Endeavoring to feign the contours of a thousand mirth
And vie I did, to an assuaging forget but not to flee
From the peremptory entice of effulgent revelries
And a shadow I casted, never shall falter nor tilt
And becoming the verve of the citadel I built
The soulless lullaby of bulwark walls err shan't
Dark shall fade, storms shall beat and die to pant
A safeguard from the descrying coruscations of light
Sequestering with its shadows, unfurling many a terror
Of veritable sorrows that yonder facilely linger
And these walls, like sleep and lullaby, only lulls my horror
The corridors protract in a labyrinthine vast
Succumbing all echoing calls in the patina to rust
The lofty ceiling looms and jarringly taunts
To beguile you of depth, and of ravine haunts
Even the chandeliers tinker mendaciloquence
To superimpose the bliss I heed for defense
Outside the portcullis, nil can penetrate
Inside the halls, beckons of lone are desperate
Nary a chance the adversary could shuffle
To bring this cordon down to its graceful topple
Such aggrandized fortress perhaps can save
The king I made from a doggedly slave
As the king that I was exultantly revels inside
Comported by the hearth and his sovereign's stride
The coals of fire beckons in charred cinders
A crown of thorns once worn that never quavers
And of the present yet remote storm and dark forlorn
Inside his simpers and under his throne
The suppressing citadel throttled inside
His black and dying heart long put aside
Insensitive to the fray of the city and of his own
The phantoms roused from their stiff reckon
How sad was he in his contrived perpetuity
Filling the void by burying all that he was in a city
Secluded and protected it was, idyllic not quite
The sedations will ebb to fade out in the blight
And lone inside his walls of salient divide
A grave, a cage, succumbed by his own tide
And so tonight, despite late and futile
The king built a citadel to burn and born his plight

My mental approach is totally different. My coach predicated everything on defense. He always talked about defense, defense, defense. I took it to heart that if you play defense, you can take the heart from an offensive player.

To His Defense
To his defense, I understand the problem that is at hand.
To his defense, I understand the turmoil behind all of this.
To his defense, you'll never live the life he has endured.
To his defense, judge, I object to the inaccuracies you are spewing forth.
Be prepared to kill two birds with one stone.
Anxiety rises about the room.
As the swine feeds on frozen hearts.
A sign of treason ascends in my thoughts.
My conscience was right, the traitor exposed.
To his defense, there must be a reason for all the things he has done.
To his defense, it could easily be a coincidence.
To his defense, look at him now.
He's happier than I'll ever become.
To his defense, theres no defense.
No toleration for betrayal.

The Comfort Of Silence
silence is, and will always be,
comfortable, like a stone, mute to the
changes of the season, and no matter
who takes it, a child or an old man,
the stone keeps the secrets
of their wrongdoings.
the comfort of silence
to the wrongdoer, makes the stone,
the most trusted friend,
no one talks inside the hardness
even if it is broken, into shattered pieces
the stone carries the silence
it is numbed by the centuries
of human oppression.

A prayer for a Lost Loved One
Silence is no silence,
fear engulfs loved ones,
voices in heads pray,
for safety of a lost one.
No news is no sign of good news;
tears roll down; down to the ground,
shakes and anger circling ascends
in and out like breathing.
Silence is no silence,
fear engulfs loved ones,
voices in heads pray,
for safety of a lost one.
Fury rises with the sun,
and stays behind with the moon.
Silent stares, lone figures
Walk up down, awaiting news. And…
No news is no sign of good news;
tears roll down; down to the ground,
shakes and anger circling ascends
in and out like breathing.
Simper a cuddle no longer possible-
weight lose, gray hallow face
sleepless, reckless nights of
curving streaking worry.
Silence is no silence,
fear engulfs loved ones,
voices in heads pray,
for safety of a lost one.
No sign, sun shines; wondering thoughts,
to the safety of a child
tears of fear, sadness, rain falls
on ovals – fear rises and…
No news is no sign of good news;
tears roll down; down to the ground,
shakes and anger circling ascends
in and out like breathing.
Communities worry, grief, feel
And hold lost ones together-
Give and build strength,
Prayers whisper from door to door.
Silence is no silence,
fear engulfs loved ones,
voices in heads pray,
for safety of a lost one.
Water rolls silently, hands folded,
head bent in silence for prayer.
Whispers of trees blow, blow to the distance
Reveals simper cuddles.
Hands folded,
head bent,
silent prayer, for lost loved one.
Silence is no silence,
fear engulfs loved ones,
voices in heads pray,
for safety of a lost one.

One Night, One Chance
One night, one chance, she do most anything,
One night, one chance, she do and dream
Sweet dreams for you.
Woke up in the morning, I said boy, wake up.
Nothing will be done if you dont get up.
Silence is guilty and the truth can talk.
If you got the legs, boy, come on, lets walk.
One night, one chance for you.
Shed dream sweet dreams for me and you.
Take me out this morning, come on, let me sleep.
Been hard pressed to keep it. better hold on me.
But silence is guilty and the truth be told.
If you got the legs, boys, come on, lets walk.
Is it over? one night she dreamed for you.
One night, one chance for you.
One day, one night
She dreamed sweet dreams for you.
Woke up this mornig and now the dream was
Out of sight.
Prison walls are breakin down, and my
Threadbare back is whipped right.
Silence is guilty and the truth can talk.
Well yes, I got the legs, boys, and i,
Yes I walked.
And its over, Im glad its over.
Are you glad its over? its over for one night.
One chance for sweet dreams, oh, for you,
For one night, for one chance of success
Shell sream and scheme for you.
Oh, oh, one night, oh, one chance shell
Dream sweet dreams for you.
One night, one life too. her hole existence
Has fallen in two.

Somewhere Near The Lomba River
The guns of enemy tanks are flashing
like bolts of thunder while I am glancing,
the night air is full of the smell of cordite
and luckily those shots are passing
while the armoured car draws to a sudden halt
for its gun to take aim and on my lips I taste salt
before the armour piercing shell is fired
and at a direct hit around me the crew exalt
before at speed we move on
and some more enemy Cuban soldiers are gone,
are burnt in the fiery hell
while my heart, my brain feels like stone.
An enemy shell strikes another armoured car
like a exploding flaming star
and I can smell torched human flesh,
while I wish to be away very far,
to be away from killing
and this chilling
kind of machination of machines and men
who at each other are firing
but to survive we battle on right through the night,
are still trying to find some more enemies in the broad daylight,
find two abounded stationary pristine enemy battle tanks
from which the enemy had run in fright.

Read My Lips
verbal silence. read my lips.
if you see them.
read the words. read it here.
these words. read them like
flowers in the garden.
these words speak a little.
tips of the iceberg. They are less
compared to the color of my eyes
the warmth of my fingers
the suppressed beatings of my heart.
these words that you read.
if only you can see my lips.
if only you can see my face.
and body, naked on the flowing sheet of
pure paper. IF only you know
what silence means, how emptiness
eats it, if only you know how inferior
verbs and adjectives are
compared to the caresses of the hands
and the tenderness of the fingers,
touch.
read the lines silently.
these words do not shape my lips.
they come to your eyes.
in the silence of your understanding.
never shall they speak
about me. they only talk about
the hands that write sometimes
without any meaning at all.
infinitives are not infinite.
neither do verbs know what is it to be still.
and adjectives talk only about the surface.
deep under, the noise begins.
and silence of the verbs move to another side.
now, the mountains of ideas collapse
and bury the casualties of silence.

If Silence Breaks Its Silence
IF SILENCE BREAKS ITS SILENCE
Melvin Banggollay
The tail of silence riding with the wind
whispers echoes of rumor mongering
but when asked to accost its humming
Mute was his lips as if he knows nothing.
If silence will break its own silent beam
then lot of things could have been seen
Justice could have reign if eyes be keen
and tongue unafraid to tell what had been.
For fear of life, the ear of silence remain
to be deaf forever even it hears disdain,
The eyes that see is blind again and again
as lips close to shout for silence to reign.
Be brave to break the silence that reign
for truth to radiate justice that regain
Hope to those who sung victims pain
and torment to those that inflicts disdain.
Written when my father was wrongfully accused
of a crime of frustrated homicide that he never have done.

Vita pro meus Leo-amo angelus
Fear not the world, my Leonine…
Fear not the silent times between.
Fear not the chance of loneliness,
fear not that love could whither yon.
Cometh hither, my Leonine…
Cometh to promised snow,
Cometh and see the world!
Cometh to mine promise kept.
Hold on to thy heart, my Leonine.
Hold on to thy gifts from Him.
Hold on to me, hold on to honour.
Hold on! For the right ones will come.
Fear not the world, my Leonine,
Fear not the possibilities that it holds.
Fear not that love will whither:
Fear not the extinct chance of loneliness.

Grace
Looking in the papers makes me sorry to be human
A little ray of hope wont hurt at all
A price on every head & its cheaper when youre dead
Quality of life may have to fall
Muffled voices, world in action
Stir the peaceful, need for longing
I, I cannot describe the fear inside my heart
I, hereby do swear to live my life in accordance with grace
Guess its human nature to be cruel & to be heartless
But thats no excuse to shoot him when hes down
Crawl in on your knees & then bite the hand that feeds
The cages throw their shadows cross the ground
Wheres the sense in senseless violence
Hear the silence too forgiving
I cannot describe the fear inside my heart
I, hereby do swear to live my life in accordance with grace
Press your hands in, into the pavement
Bathed in glory, heres your moment
I cannot describe the fear inside my heart
I, hereby do swear to live my life in accordance with grace
I cannot describe the fear inside my heart
I, hereby do swear to live my life in accordance with grace

Collide
I felt my heart collapse
On the day that I met him
I felt my heart collapse
It filled up to the rim
I felt my heart collapse
When my eyes traveled 'round
I felt my heart collapse
The one I had found
I felt my heart collapse
When he first touched my skin
I felt my heart collapse
Oh it seemed a lovely sin
I felt my heart collapse
It fell without a sound
I felt my heart collapse
Oh I knew I had found
I felt my heart collapse
When we shared that first kiss
I felt my heart collapse
I thought that I would almost miss
I felt my heart collapse
I was lost in his embrace
I felt my heart collapse
I kept staring at his face
Oh my heart collapsed on that day
Ever since it's been that same way
My love for you has not faded
Ever since the day it escaped

Voices Of The Heart
A shadow far away coming nearer each moment,
With foregone enchantment swifter than light,
The voices of my heart pierce the shadow of night,
Eyes could not have seen the cries made of fright.
Mute stranger not hearing the shuffling prance,
Swayed in dance from the gripping hold of agony,
I did what no opportunity would have given chance,
Pass hastily with prayer into the realm of misery.
My naked soul made the call of hopeful choice,
To try and stem the tide of emotions from inside,
On the floor I went, to end the screams in silence,
And pluck up courage where shame tries to hide.
The bruises appear delirious with implacable scar,
Beyond the soul stronger voices torment the heart,
With imagery pasteurizing the grayscales of fear,
Crying for help, crippled by the passions once felt.
Woken from a dream to the glow of another rising sun,
Visions not forgotten rode by on a brighten screen,
Blearily pursue the papal breath broken and undone,
Were these voices of my heart or a voice from heaven?
In me all the hurt is repeated without honor,
And nothing is forgotten without leaving pain,
To feel the cold chill pass upon destiny’s shore,
Hearing voices of the heart quietly lamenting.
They had pierce safe barriers and brought cute hell,
Far more darker than the torment life has given,
Repeated voices that arise from my heart to tell,
The story memories would rather have forgotten.

Exhuming The Bones Of Naivety
I was another orphan
from the gravid collections
cloyed by jealousy,
drifting past the irony
I watched it dance -
the usurped splendor
once basked in the innocent eyes -
with the waning dust motes
with a vehemence of a sleeper
Felled from the platoon,
unrifled and guised with a
perfunctory smile,
hiding amidst the enviable insularity
of the rain's iron curtains
complacence is my confidant
my citadel against
my own destructive measures
And when the crooked hands
of the clock unsheathed
its vengeful fusillade
not a shadow flailed,
not a soul squandered,
everything was as still
as an obsidian memory
as if the wanton silence speaks
a mirror of harangue
against the enemy inside
the eyes of naivety.

To Plant A Seed
Like the enigmas woven upon
the regal tapestry of dreams
we instill niceties into
the desperate and famished earth
razing our own barricades
and knotting golden tethers
upon the forests that we make
And nights will perch upon
the lovely slender boughs
And days will park on its eaves
filleting the lofty fences
veins crawling, sprawling
unto the cradle of distant stars
and their scintillating talks
while the grandiose inculcate
a flummoxed aeon down
into the heart of a dead star
But we forget them
when we lose our own maps
and constellations
from the fire of our conceit -
we lose the monarchy of trees
which kept our secrets
upon their clandestine zithers
and the quintessence
is lost amongst the memories
Amidst lights, my penetralium
is a dislimned diamond -
obstinate and lustrous
against your scouring
trembling with coruscations
though every word cadenced
for the breath pawned
for your sleep's quiescence
is another seed planted inside
the fissures of my defense -
A bliss draped in the most
atrocious sensation
We are surmised
when we planted a seed -
puppets strangled with
our silky strings of
strangling vines,
and we are blinded
by fear and pride
A tree rooted, gnarled
upon a lifeless boulder:
A seed planted
and now rupturing
to be castrated
and thrown into the
hearth of malignance.

Defense and offence.
Defense is a kind of offence;
Offence is a smart defense.
Offence is to break defense.
Defense is to thwart offence.
As predator, one needs offence.
As a prey, one needs defense.
Otherwise defense is as bad as offence.

A Night Passes In A Silenceless Torment
A night passes in a Silenceless Torment
Even the most beautiful songs
Cannot quell the restlessness-
There are times when one is not born for this
Or any other world-
Dissatisfaction restlessness frustration
Cannot yield the best poetry-
Tormented songs repeat themselves
What was once beautiful
Now irritates as relentless noise-
There is the need for a different kind of beauty
A song from within that no external song can give-
I want silence
No other song
Only silence
Silence and more silence
A poetry of silence
Or even a silence without poetry
Silence
The kind of silence in which the torment has ended
Sleep perhaps
Silence silence
Please.

Beneath The Feet Of Love....
be it only then the phoenix
that rises from the ashes?
then who walks the valley of bones,
hearing voices from another world?
whose footprints in the waters?
whose scream etched in stone?
whose hands rising from the darkness,
whose grunt births the dawn?
can you feel this heat of nearness?
the softness inside this shadow?
even the candle's flame flickers,
as if whispering some hidden truth!
and the moments tick by shaking tambourines,
while words undress revealing sound...
it must be the sound of silence,
or the name not yet revealed.
i am the tongue cleaving to your breastbone,
the taste of hunger bitter on your lips.
i am the song of the ages,
you the conch shell of desire.
i am the hollow in the mockingbird's longing,
you the grain of the weathered oak.
i am the rhythm of the pounding waves,
you the shore that never ends.
perhaps the light of the faraway lighthouse,
or the hint of beckoning stars...
will guide this ship to its destination,
to lie beneath the feet of love!

In the mirror of silence
I’ll reflect you lips’ eloquence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll blush-in by your lips’ glittrence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll unfold your lips’ innocence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll savor to the lees your lips’ elegance.
In the mirror of silence
I get psychic catharsis
In our lip lock reminiscences.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll siphon in your lips’ effulgence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll grope your lips
In abyssal absence.
In the mirror of silence
My lips will coalesce
In your lips’ effervescence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll be vortexed by
Lips’ psychedelic resonance.
In the mirror of silence
We’ll passionately hug
With sensuous confluence.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll smear lips by
Your lips’ fragrance.
In the mirror of silence
We’ll tie-up our lips
In Monalisian resemblance.
In the mirror of silence
I’ll fresco my lips
From your lips’ brilliance.
In the mirror of silence
My lips will stain
By your lips’ every essence.
I’m voodooded by:
In the mirror of silence,
Your lips’ excellence,
And deluxe luminance.

Lowdown
Pop
I dont want to throw away my time
Playing games I dont respect or like
I cant give away my sovereignty
To existence with no song of me
And the hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Theres a hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
I built myself a beautiful brick wall
Gets a little higher every day
_? _ ignorance inhabits me
Cause Ive already chased my love away
And the hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Theres a hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Take that happy banner off the wall
I dont need to see no smiling face
All I really wants a cup of tea
To feel a warmth inside of me
And the hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Theres a hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Theres a hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
Theres a hole in my heart
Im lowdown
Theres a hole in my heart
Im low
