Bald And Painful
in emptiness staying aloof
to set the wings free,
a shadow self without flesh and bones
to rip out the enormity of silence
of words, cold in the face of duality
metaphysical but of somber echo of tension
between reconciliation and deep anger
causing a long flight of fantasy
of grains sprouting after self-denial at
the turf of remembering deep, it would be
a comeback for the pelting rain on the swan -
song of a sizzling desert,
the omnivorus sanity of claws in the golden
fabric of blood caked body of a star

Flesh For A Fantasy
There's a change in pace
Of fantasy and taste
Do you like good music?
Do you like to dance? Oh yeah.
Hangin' out for a body shop at night
Ain't it strange what we do to feel alright? Oh yeah.
So when will you call?
I'm experienced Oh yeah
Face to face
And back to back
You see and feel
My sex attack
Sing it
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
It's after midnight
Are you feelin' alright oh yeah
Turn on the light, babe
Are you someone else tonight?
Neighbour to neighbour, door to door
Don't ask questions, there's time for it all Oh yeah.
Face to face
And back to back
You see and feel
My sex attack
Sing it
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We cry
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
I sing for culture...
Father loves his son,
Mothers, daughters, too.
It's an old old story,
Cries the new world too.
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
You cry
Flesh, flesh for fantasy

Death, Anger, Silence.
For years I've been trying to evade it
And I thought I'd finally succseeded
But the blackness just keeps crawling in
deadly, angry, silent.
The road that I walk down is long
And I'm not really sure where it goes
But I keep walking, trying to hide
From the death, anger and silence
It starts out as a shadow
Nothing but a little blocked light
Except soon I'm surrounded; I can't get out
Of the death, anger and silence
As the shadow grows big, I become small
Blending in, hidden from one and all
To make myself seen I have to scream
And make death, anger and silence
I look around, I look around,
Trying to find simewhere safe
But soon I see, it becomes clear to me;
You can't stop the death
You can't hide from the anger
And you can't escape the silence

Free Flight
Head on down the highway
Across the county line,
Ive had my fill of small town thrills
Gonna leave it all behind.
Free flight, free flight.
Im careless in my loving,
Shameless in my style,
If I get caught by the short n curlies
Ill just hide out for awhile.
Free flight, free flight.
On an on the road goes on
Itll go on forever,
An just the same Ill live my life,
Hell bent for leather.
Free flight, free flight.
Heaven knows its driving me crazy,
Its a feeling inside.
Heaven knows its in my blood
As long as I try, I just cant deny.
Free flight, come tomorrow dawn youll find me gone.
Free flight, make no bones about it, Im moving on.
Free flight, free flight, free flight.
Free flight, free flight, free flight.
Head on down the highway
Suitcase in your hand,
When you get down with your feet on the ground
I know youll understand.
Free flight, free flight.
Heaven knows its driving me crazy,
Its a feeling thats driving me wild.
Heaven knows its in my blood,
Fool if you try, you just cant deny.
Free flight, come tomorrow dawn youll find me gone.
Free flight, make no bones about it, Im moving on.

Pictures Of You
I've been looking so long at these pictures of you that I almost believe that they are real
I have been living so long with my pictures of you that I almost believe that the pictures are all I can feel
Remembering you standing quiet in the rain as I ran to your heart to be near
And we kissed as the sky fell and holding you close
How I always held close in your fear
Remembering you were the song through the night
You were bigger and brighter and whiter than snow
Screaming at the make believe, screaming at the sky and you finally found all your courage to let it all go
Remembering you falling into my arms, crying for the death of your heart
It was stone white, so delicate, lost in the cold, you were always so lost in the dark
Remembering you, how you used to be, so proud you were angels, so much more than everything
Hope for the last time, it'd slip away quietly
open my eyes but I never see anything.
If I'd only I thought of the right words, I could have held on to your heart
If I'd only I thought of the right words, I wouldnt be breaking apart...
All my pictures of you
Looking so long at these pictures of you, I'd never hold onto your heart
Looking so long for the words to be true, but always just breaking apart.
My pictures of you
There is nothing in the world that I ever wanted more than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more than to never feel breaking apart
All my pictures of you

Cold Desert Night
Somewhere
out in the cold desert night-
A lone coyote calls out,
breaking the stillness
of the early morning twilight.
My breath visible and stale-
I hold it in for a moment in silence, listening-
Before I finally exhale.
The coyote's cry goes unanswered,
yet can be heard from miles away-
His sad song of solitude,
keeping the unknown at bay.
A sudden chill moves through me,
causing me to shiver.
These words, revealed to me,
and unto you, I deliver.
The moon shines bright upon the desert floor,
the coyote repeats his cry-
He is answered with a distant howl,
it seems that we're not alone anymore.
The cold desert night is full of somber solitude,
and yet, it's full of nocturnal life.
The morning's chill gets to me-
So I return to the warmth of my bed,
and the waiting arms of my wife.

Silence
Silence
There is a silence where hath been no sound,
There is a silence where no sound may be,
In the cold grave—under the deep, deep sea,
Or in wide desert where no life is found,
Which hath been mute, and still must sleep profound;
No voice is hush’d—no life treads silently,
But clouds and cloudy shadows wander free,
That never spoke, over the idle ground:
But in green ruins, in the desolate walls
Of antique palaces, where Man hath been,
Though the dun fox or wild hyæna calls,
And owls, that flit continually between,
Shriek to the echo, and the low winds moan—
There the true Silence is, self-conscious and alone.

Mongolian Sunset
It's been a long, tough ride,
From bus to car I glide,
Tomb of Ghengis Khan,
Chinese soldier helped me on,
Luck and love but no song,
Journey on, my son,
You have just begun,
Your love like a river runs,
We drove in the desert sun,
Saved by a Mongolian son,
Sand too deep, dunes too steep,
Finally I am at fates end,
Is there a way for hearts to mend?
Time to rest, tension gone,
I search my heart, for you I long,
Bury your treasure, please hear,
I listen with my inner ear,
Once again on my way,
Looking for another day,
Did we find the place?
To you I look for grace,
Is there a sign from above,
Sudden rain, wild and rough,
Desert rain in my eyes,
Grace from above never lies,
Soon to pass, was rain by chance?
Ever upward do I glance,
Clouds drift, sunlight shifts,
Golden hues glow afar,
Your signs clear in desert air,
My hearts desire comes near.
Journey on, my son,
You have just begun,
Your love like a river runs.

The Moment of Rain
'You drenched yourself in rain as though you were in pain,
I could hear you crying in the sad music of rain;
Was the sorrow too deep that you had to hide in vain,
The tears under the shadow of the somber saddening rain?
Out there in a corner, I shared some secret dear sorrow,
Since the Moment of Rain: today too and may be another tomorrow;
The smiles did steal some flashes, and you seemed easy and fine,
But I was sobbing silently, inconsolable somewhat to pine;
For a whisper may be in the evening twilight from you side,
That all is fine and you are over it and the sorrow no longer did abide;
Had come too far from the Moment but still the sorrow stayed, Dear,
Like a soul's shadow it prods and does lie to deep for wanton tear;
The answer to the Moment of rain, my scared half glances still seek in vain,
There is still some proportion of the Sweetness of my own Dear pain:
I confess the crime of slowly pilfering the freedom that danced in the rain,
Might have been blind to the flight of the spirits: oh I was insane! '

Between My Horse's Wings (Expanded)
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
The wind rushing forcefully
Through my long dark hair
The feel of the cool air
Beneath the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy
The muscles work powerfully
To drive us into the night
The stars wink like little lights
Above the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
As I ride over the ocean and sea
My muscles tense as I hold
My skin red from the windy cold
Flowing past the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
I revel in this dangerous ecstasy
A silvery mane blows in my face
Blown back, by the wind we race
Born on by the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
As we fly through the air swiftly
My face is lifted toward the sky
Arms outstretched, wind rushing by
The beating of the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
Faster and faster, we seem to fly
The wind tugging at my body
As I look to the heavenly bodies
Shining on the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
My horse flies gracefully
Over the fields and streams
Are these things only my dreams?
Sitting between the horse’s wings
Between My Horse's Wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?
The wind rushing forcefully
Through my long dark hair
The feel of the cool air
Beneath the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy
The muscles work powerfully
To drive us into the night
The stars wink like little lights
Above the horse’s wings
Is this real, or is this fantasy?

Tainted Water!
snowfall...
words spoken without talking.
history written on drawn faces.
eyes that speak the language
of hunger, ears that feel,
feet that find their way!
we have long been
a people lost in search,
buying religious tokens,
spreading political balm.
we've lost the gift
of understanding silence...
we rattle like bones
in need of flesh!
snowfall...
stillness bridges the moment.
face to face with
light and shadow...
and the forever taste of blood,
blood floating on tainted water!

Tonight, Am In Love With The Rain
Tonight, am in love with the rain
The beating sound on my window pane
The howling wind, the dripping water
Man and beast seeking shelter
Am in love with the flashing light
The roaring thunder deep in the night
Am wondering how frightening it would be
To meet a storm in the open sea
Am in love with pools and puddles
Splashing water and the ripples
And waving wipers of cars driving by
Lighted images of raindrops from the sky
Am in love with cold water on my feet
As i take a walk on the empty street
And i love to have a bath in the rain
To melt away this lingering strain
But i dont always love the rain!
Sometimes, it brings memories of yesterdays pain
And my thoughts would mingle for too long
With the tune of the its mournful song
Sometimes, it brings the thoughts of storms at sea
And that fearsome waves that benumb me
And i, standing, wondering how
I sailed through her fiercest jaw
Sometimes, it brings the thought of death,
Which is the curse upon all birth
And reminding me how times fly
And how one day all flesh shall lie
Tonight my emotions are running deep
With things that make me laugh and weep
Tonight, here in my dingy room
I see flashes of gloom and bloom
My age long fears, are muffled by the pelting rain
And my common tears flushed down the drain
Tonight, am in love with the rain
And its beats on my window pane! !

Pictures Of You
I've been looking so long at these
Pictures of
You that i almost beleive that they're real i've
Been living so long with my pictures of you that
I almost believe that the pictures are all i can
Feel
Remembering you standing quiet in the rain as
I ran to your heart to be near and we kissed as
The sky fell in holding you close how i always
Held close in your fear remembering you
Running soft through the night you were bigger
And brighter and wider than snow and
Screamed at the make-believe screamed at the
Sky and you finally found all your courage to
Let it all go
Remembering you fallen into my arms crying
For the death of your heart you were stone
White so delicate lost in the cold you were
Always so lost in the dark remembering you
How you used to be slow drowned you were
Angels so much more than everything oh hold
For the last time then slip away quietly open
My eyes but i never see anything
If only i had thought of the right words i could
Have hold on to your heart if only i'd thought of
The right words i wouldn't be breaking apart all
My pictures of you
Looking so long at these pictures of you but i
Never hold on to your heart looking so long for
The words to be true but always just breaking
Apart my pictures of you
There was nothing in the world that i ever
Wanted more than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that i ever
Wanted more than to never feel the breaking
Apart all my pictures of you

Swan Lee
Swan lee got up at the running foot pow-wow,
Heading from the fire to his waiting canoe.
Chattering squaw untied the wigwam door,
The chief blew smoke rings two by two!
The land in silence stands...
Swan lee, his boat by the bank in the darkness,
Loosened the rope in the creek is entwined.
A feather from the wing of a wild young eagle,
Pointed to the land where his fortune he'd find
The land in silence stands
Swan lee paddled on from the land of his fathers,
His eyes scanned the undergrowth on either side.
From the shore hung a hot, heavy, creature infested
Tropic, swan lee had a bow by his side
The land in silence stands
Swan lee kept time, half on land, half on water,
Grizzly bear and raccoon his fare.
He followed his ears to the great water fall,
Swan lee knew deep down that his squaw was there!
The land in silence stands....
Suddenly the rush of the mighty great thunder,
Confronted swan lee as his song he sang,
In the dawn, with his squaw, he was battling homewards
It was all written down by long silas lang.
The land in silence stands...
The land in silence stands...
The land in silence stands.

Confrontation
Dr. Jekyll in lower case
Mr. Hyde caps.
Lost in the darkness
Silence surrounds you
Once there was morning
Now endless night
I will find the answer
I'll never desert you
I promise you this
Til the day that I...
DO YOU REALLY THINK
THAT I WOULD EVER LET YOU GO
DO YOU THINK ID EVER SET YOU FREE
IF YOU DO IM SAD TO SAY
IT SIMPLY ISN'T SO
YOU WILL NEVER GET AWAY FROM ME
all that you are is a face in the mirror
I close my eyes and you disappear
IM WHAT YOU FACE WHEN YOU FACE IN THE MIRROR
LONG AS YOU LIVE I WILL STILL BE HERE
all that you are is an end of a nightmare
all that you are is a dieing scream
after tonight I shall end this demon dream
THIS IS NOT A DREAM MY FRIEND
AND IT WILL NEVER END
THIS ONE IS THE NIGHTMARE THAT GOES ON
HYDE IS HERE TO STAY
NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAY PRETEND
AND HE'LL FLOURISH LONG AFTER YOUR GONE
soon you will die and my silence will hide you
you cannot choose and you'll lose control
YOU CANT CONTROL ME
I LIVE DEEP INSIDE YOU
EACH DAY YOU FEEL ME DEVOUR YOUR SOUL
i dont need you to survive like you need me
i become whole as you dance with Death
and I will rejoice as you breathe your final breath
FOR I LIVE INSIDE YOU FOREVER
WITH SATAN HIMSELF BY MY SIDE
AND NOW KNOW THAT NOW AND FOREVER
YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO SEPARATE
JEKYLL FROM HYDE
cant you see
its over now
its time to die
NO NOT I
ONLY YOU
if i die
you die to
YOU'LL DIE IN ME
I'LL BE YOU
damn you Hyde
set me free
CANT YOU SEE
YOU ARE ME
no deep inside
I AM YOU
YOU ARE HYDE
no never
YES FOREVER

Gardens Season Of Dreams Alqaed/Burns (Cinquain)
OH.!
You tiny
dropp of dew
dampen its thirsty flowers
gently.
A
lovely face
in my memory
as delicate as a
doll.
Hair
so soft
to the touch
more smooth than finest
silk.
Eyes
so green
deep jade like
finest emeralds they would
fade.
When
you came
my blood danced
rivers of hot desires
flowed.
You
became my
body, face, death
my carnival of loving
words.
Be
a rain
falling gently in
the night of my
sleep.
You
will hear
my heart beats
calling out your lovely
name.
Leave
your hair
rest on my
chest, while you fall
asleep.
You
are my
home of love
the sparrow of my
dreams.
So
inhabit me
full of eagerness
I am the knight
seeking.

The Last Flight
there is always a reason why a man cannot
cease writing
there is that denial of what was there a long time ago
it sits there like a statue
beside the door of the house
where the window is always closed
there is always a reason why the words keep flowing
like a river
why the river is always filled with running water
despite the drought
you see the bones of cows
the dust of the sands in the desert
it was once an oasis
where date palms abound where women bathe
with their men
where they make love
under the crescent moon
there is always a reason that you know
but you do not tell
but which i will always deny
as truth
it is this denial that keeps my hands going
like soldiers ready for a kill in that theater of war
it is this roaring lion that does not bite
that keeps me
in fear that keeps me speaking inside myself
there is no one here
there is no wall anymore
the winds are waiting with all the wings of the dead birds
it is ready
i am undressing
this is the flight.

These Poems
these poems be but the heart born hand,
the oak undressed, the pine that grieves.
the wings of bodies strewn by time,
the scent of flesh, and of blood.
the fire built for the faceless ones,
the sky heavy with storm.
the dreams of the child in red clay dirt,
the sound of the horn just outside sound!
the body wrapped in shadow's grasp.
the vibration deep inside stone.
the window latch broken by the wind,
the light beyond both death and prayer!

Mother Country
Oh what is that country
And where can it be,
Not mine own country,
But dearer far to me?
Yet mine own country,
If I one day may see
Its spices and cedars,
Its gold and ivory.
As I lie dreaming
It rises, that land:
There rises before me
Its green golden strand,
With its bowing cedars
And its shining sand;
It sparkles and flashes
Like a shaken brand.
Do angels lean nearer
While I lie and long?
I see their soft plumage
And catch their windy song,
Like the rise of a high tide
Sweeping full and strong;
I mark the outskirts
Of their reverend throng.
Oh what is a king here,
Or what is a boor?
Here all starve together,
All dwarfed and poor;
Here Death's hand knocketh
At door after door,
He thins the dancers
From the festal floor.
Oh what is a handmaid,
Or what is a queen?
All must lie down together
Where the turf is green,
The foulest face hidden,
The fairest not seen;
Gone as if never,
They had breathed or been.
Gone from sweet sunshine
Underneath the sod,
Turned from warm flesh and blood
To senseless clod,
Gone as if never
They had toiled or trod,
Gone out of sight of all
Except our God.
Shut into silence
From the accustomed song,
Shut into solitude
From all earth's throng,
Run down tho' swift of foot,
Thrust down tho' strong;
Life made an end of
Seemed it short or long.
Life made an end of,
Life but just begun,
Life finished yesterday,
Its last sand run;
Life new-born with the morrow,
Fresh as the sun:
While done is done for ever;
Undone, undone.
And if that life is life,
This is but a breath,
The passage of a dream
And the shadow of death;
But a vain shadow
If one considereth;
Vanity of vanities,
As the Preacher saith.
