Trunk-Branch-Twig Relation

Affinity is a string that runs through
Parents-offspring- grand offspring with
The characteristic of no jealousy.
Siblings do not come in that category.

Identity

I like and take sides because
They are my parents,
My siblings, my wife,
My offspring, my clans
My religion, my nation,
My race or my whoever.
Without identity, no activity.

You help for your interest.

You take care of the one
Who is linked with your rise.
And whose fall affects you.
First, you did your parents and siblings.
Later you did your wife and offspring.
Your helps are your involved interests.

It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations.

Wish not beyond two generations

I’ve lived for long and am about to go.
My offspring must live well and die in peace.
Their offspring must help them as they did us.
Why is my wish not going beyond that?

The empathy

To give alms is compassion.
To feel for one’s sufferings is sympathy.
To share one’s sufferings is empathy.
What you do to parents is compassion,
What you do to siblings is sympathy.
Your doings to offspring is empathy.
Shows empathy to others to be great.

The balance is the regrets.

A bundle of regrets takes one to the grave:

The regrets for the love given to the offspring,
For the soul given to the women,
For the blood given to the siblings
And the sweats given to the peers.

Anger And Jealousy

Anger and jealousy are siblings both self destructive in their own way
Of the damage they give rise to we hear and read of every day
In assaults and murder and every violent sort of crime
So many people because of them in prison serving time
Anger and jealousy to assertiveness different in every way
That only does seem a fair thing to say
Those who are assertive speak with a clear mind
To outbursts of anger they are not inclined
Jealousy and anger out of control
Blocks out the light from the windows of the soul
Non human friendly that cannot be denied
Worse flaws by far than even arrogance and pride
To violence and crimes against others they do lead
Anger and jealousy are siblings indeed

Parents and offspring’s access to paradise

God has similarity with parents
But He hardly has
Similarity with offspring
This is one of the reasons
Why parents are so prestigious

Against this backdrop
If the children are pious
But their parents are not
They will be able to take
Their parents to paradise
Whereas
If the parents are pious
But their children are not
They will be unable to take
Their children to paradise

The interests count

People are good; friends are good;
Neighbours are good; kin are good;
Siblings are good; offspring are good:
Till your interests clash with theirs.

The Sun Set Days

Siblings are your blood but not their spouses.
The offspring is your blood but not its spouse.
Getting supports from the blood relations
Is not digested by their better-halves.
You are that much orphaned by relations.
You have to swallow scorns in sun set days.

Vow Renewed!

Smiles, Smiles
Glittering eyes
Hearts yearning
Union, our vow, a bird sang.

The path so long
A path so meandering
Hare a trickster
Waiting to pounce is a vulture.

Naive offspring,
Calls-'daddy' and 'mummy'
Our vow, our eyes are locking
Dear, I love you, the offspring!

The weighing thoughts

My parents aren’t there to see
How good I prospered and branched out.
I would not be there to witness
If my offspring would grow and branch out.
Who has died, not weighed with these thoughts?

When have I been open?

I hide my love
When I love women across.
I hide my hate
When I work with my rivals
I hide my contempt
When I move with the low beings.
I hide my jealousy
In my brothers’ glory.
I hide my displeasure
When I yield to the power.
I hide my reservation
In my wife’s parental affinity.
I hide my inconvenience
When unwanted guests disturb.
I hide my selfishness
When I deal with my siblings.
I hide my bias
When I treat my sons and daughters.
When have I been open
When I have been with others?

Transformation

To my noble parents sterling,
, I was their Daughter darling;
;
To my affable siblings, three,
I was their elder Sister, in glee.
To my beloved husband, in life,
I'm his devoted, fond Wife.
To my endearing children, four,
I'm their doting Mother spore;
To my nephews and nieces, reasoning,
I'm their dear Auntie, loving.

Alas! The label of daughter, nice,
Vanished with my parents' demise! .

My children, one by one, in course of time,
Were married, in their youth prime.
I begot sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law,
And am their affectionate Mother-in-law.

Ah! My siblings three, passed away—
The call of Sister, with them went away!

Now, when my sweet grand-children seven,
With love and care, me, they smother,
Calling me ‘Paatti'(Granny) 'Paatti'(Granny)
,
I the proud Grandmother
Am in rapture, transported to Heaven.!

Sinking by holding a straw

Married for four decades, my wife and I
Live without corporal intimacy,
Both spending our time with respective sex
And yet companionship binds us.

We would speak to each other on matters.
We would nag each other on issues.
Stale to each other, we’re particular
That the other has no one to flirt with.

She’s the only guy I could depend on
And I’m the only guy she could depend on,
Siblings and offspring having drifted off.
We would reserve what we have till we die.

The future is bleak as we both grow weak.
In case of one falling as bed ridden,
The other would be useless and yet we cling
Like one grabbing a straw, while drowning.

Dyed Deer

Dyed by the violence of hate
A quick swill of wine concerns my offspring,
Reject the totality of infinite space!
Not in the suddenness combats the face,
Its limbs badger the hasty life
From the evil shadows of the world.
Harass the enemy as you wish,
Keep them in cocoons of oldness and delight,
The very sudden pledge is frowned upon.

My tree of old health defends diseases of ours
That despise my offspring.
The wine of living commands my love
Like the liquors of old nature and healing.
May the hearts of deer revel according to the tongue
For the heaven in it.
