To stay is a myth
The Nobel prizes, the Oscar awards,
The Beauty Crowns and the Olympic medals
Are the highest orders, most covetable.
Who knows or remember the winners’ names?
How fast you forget yesterday’s heroes!
You still remember who impacted you
As the beloved, the friends and the teachers
Who aren’t any celebrates though.
That the famous is to stay long, is a myth.

Please Remember
Time, sometimes the time just slips away
And your left with yesterday
Left with the memories
I, Ill always think of you and smile
And be happy for the time
I had you with me
Though we go our seperate ways
I wont forget so dont forget
The memories we made
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
Please remember, our time together
The time was yours and mine
While we were wild and free
Please remember, please remember me
Goodbye, theres just no sadder word to say
And its sad to walk away
With just the memories
Whos to know what might have been
Well leave behind a life and time
Well never know again
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
And remember, please remember me
Please remember, please remember
I was there for you
And you were there for me
Please remember, our time together
The time was yours and mine
While we were wild and free
Then remember, please remember me
And how we laugh and how we smile
And how this world was yours and mine
And how a dream was out of reach
I stood by you, you stood by me
We took each day and made it shine
We wrote our names across the sky
We ride so fast, we ride so free
I had you and you had me
Please remember, please remember

I Remember You
I remember you
I remember me
I remember
I remember how things used to be
I remember every word that you said
I remember, how could I forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember your old address
And I remember
How could I forget
I remember thinking how my luck changed
I remember being so amazed
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember me
I remember
The way things used to be
I remember how it was that we met
I remember, I will never forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you

Lets Get Together Again
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterdays.
Its been a very long long time. since I last remember
Seeing you. I hope you write and say youre fine. did you
Ever sit and dream. of the time when we would meet
Again? its very hard now youre not mine.
The phones right next to you. and you know just what to
Do. just pick it up. and call my name.
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterday.
Tomorrows just a step away. til I come running back to
You. I hope you stay right by my side. I thought Id never
See. my angel back here next to me. promise me that you
Wont hide.
The phones right next to you. and you know just what to
Do. just pick it up. and call my name.
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterday.
And you know there aint much time. Im so alone. please
Come home. Im on my own.
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterday.
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterday.
Lets get together again. all you need is here to stay. lets
Get together again. forget about your yesterday.

Upon Knowing The Death Of A Friend
long lost friends
time's way of letting us know
that it is in-charge
and can make us forget
and then remember
the way old friends were
and when we finally
find the entrance to
a reminiscing
we in sadness remember
some as
our dearly beloved
on the other side
of this world.

One of Those Blessings
You say you remember me,
From a past I have long forgotten?
And you remember almost in detail...
What I did as a child and what schools I attended.
Teachers I had.
Who my friends were and what we did.
The old neighborhood and where I use to live.
The swing I swung on...
And my first puppy love?
I appreciate that.
But I don't remember you at all.
I don't remember you coming around,
When we had very little to eat.
I don't remember you...
When my family and I slept on one bed,
And for years we did that as we went to sleep!
I don't remember you during my latchkey days.
Where were you in the 'brickyard',
During that phase?
I only have this to say...
God has blessed me tremendously.
And perhaps not remembering you,
Is one of those blessings!
Who knows?

Remember Tomorrow
When that's all we have
Yesterday grows
And today becomes the past
Remember the sorrow
Everyone has over things
They wish they made last...
Oh, remember
I will remember
Remember the time
When life lived over slow
Tomorrow seems so far away
Today was all we know
Remember when we wanted to
Grow up way so fast
now yesterday's full
Of all thats lost away now casts
Do you friend remember
Now that tomorrow's gone
And all that's left of today
Is yesterday's timeless song

Who Wins in War?
Who are the winners in every war?
The ones who start the war, for sure.
They are the ones who sit at a desk
and devise their devious plan
to cash in on the death of boys,
this time in afghanistan.
Now the winners walk away proud
with regalia on their chest.
The heroes that thrive on war
surely must have been blessed
for they continuously salute in military style
as they walk among the rank and file.
I say 'take off your medals
and join the boys who kill.'
The medals won't protect you then
you'll be where the blood does spill.
As a result you'll ask the question
'Who are the winners in every war? '
It's those white shirts behind desks
that started the war.

Remember Always
Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad
Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue
But never forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you
Always remember to forget
The troubles that have passed away
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day
