The real learning
Learning is not just to read and write.
To learn to live with, to stand by truth,
To uphold virtue, to get aesthetic sense,
To trim the skill and to heal the earth
Are the true learning one must have.

Live & Learn
Michael w. smith
Never should have tasted that forbidden fruit
Tell me why do I always do
What I dont want to do
Now, Im the only reaper of the seeds that I sow
And when I walk the field of my stubborn will
Its a hard row to hoe
Theres a price for getting smarter
So I pay what I owe
While bridges burn
Let the shadow fall behind me
I am wiser I know
We live and learn
Always living and learning
Always living and learning
Is it out of the fire, back in to the pan
Is once enough to let it all sink in-or will I do it again
A time for understanding has now come of age
So I heed the word of the counselor and the voice of the sage
Try to see the meaning
Read between every line
When pages turn
Therell be no room for explaining what has been well-defined
We live and learn
Always living and learning
Always living and learning
An engaging temptation had me doing time
cause when it starts a fire under strong desire
We are partners in crime
But hindsight is clearer
I can where Ive gone and never return
Its a new man in the mirror
Its a new freedom song to live and learn
Always living and learning
Always living and learning

Learning
I'm learning to say thank you.
And I'm learning to say please.
And I'm learning to use Kleenex,
Not my sweater, when I sneeze.
And I'm learning not to dribble.
And I'm learning not to slurp.
And I'm learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to burp.
And I'm learning to chew softer
When I eat corn on the cob.
And I'm learning that it's much
Much easier to be a slob.

Learning To Live With Me
(harley allen/gary burr)
I used to wish that I was
Great as any man
Better than I am
Could do things no one can
And I used to wish that I was cool as I could be
But now Im learning to live with me
Is anybody satisfied with who they really are
You could be the moon
And still be jealous of the stars
You gotta learn to swim
If you cant walk upon the sea
So Im learning to live with me
And I used to wish that I was
Braver than the rest
A hero nothin less
A big duke in the west
But I know the way I am is who Im gonna be
So Im learing to live with me
Is anybody satisfied with who they really are
You could be the moon
And still be jealous of the stars
You gotta learn to swim
If you cant walk upon the sea
So Im learning to live
Learning to forgive
Learning to live with me

Learning To Live
(without your love)
I still have your picture
By the bed where you used to lay
I still have the memories
That you aint goin from day to day
I still miss the little things
You used to do and say
Ill always believe in love
Come what may
Im learning to live
Without your love
All I can do is carry on
Living without you
Im learning to live
Without your love
Now that youre gone
Whatever the emptiness
Whatever the pain
I wont change my love for you
Ill always feel the same
Im learning to live
Without your love
All I can do is carry on
Living without you
Im learning to live
Without your love
Now that youre gone
Im learning to live
Im learning to live
Im learning to live
Im learning to live
I still call your number
Im still in love with you
I still believe in love
Maybe that will see me through
Im learning to live
Without your love
All I can do is carry on
Living without you
Im learning to live
Without your love
Now that youre gone
[repeat / fade]

Self
Bluff it is
If I say I'm a learned poet
For I'm not a scholar
So too my poems
My master's degree..
Lost in the abyss of oblivion
Searching out of and on
Those learnt reminiscences
I write to learn
Learning to write
And that learning
For my heart's happy content
You're welcome to read my words
For shared should be my happiness
Pat or hit..I don't bother
For I'm not a learned poet

I learn
I learn when I teach others
I learn when I listen
I learn when I read
I learn from children
I learn from animals
I learn from nature
I learn how to breathe
I learn how to live
I learn how to love
I learn how to be a human being
I'm always learning ...

Good education means learning to read, write and most importantly learn how to learn so that you can be whatever you want to be when you grow up.

It was an initiation into the love of learning, of learning how to learn, that was revealed to me by my BLS masters as a matter of interdisciplinary cognition-that is, learning to know something by its relation to something else.

Teaching is more difficult than learning because what teaching calls for is this: to let learn. The real teacher, in fact, lets nothing else be learned than learning. His conduct, therefore, often produces the impression that we properly learn nothing from him, if by "learning" we now suddenly understand merely the procurement of useful information.

Learning can take place in the backyard if there is a human being there who cares about the child. Before learning computers, children should learn to read first. They should sit around the dinner table and hear what their parents have to say and think.

You may write a poem for me
For a start of the day
Write a poem for me
I am weary I am unhappy
I make no sense at all
After the learning and
The knowing, I learn
The senselessness of it all,
This is not my world
This is not the world
We all yearn to live
I quit I stop this thing
It is your turn now
To believe to be awed
To be human to be alive
Make me a poem
The best poem you can
Read it to me, let me
Hear your voice,
You who also ask, you
Who also want to be dead.

Learning To Love Him
Im learning to love him
To love and forgive
Im learning to trust him
To let the man live
Im learning to see him
To see who he is
Im learning to love
The beauty he is
Im learning to love him
To love and forgive
Im learning to trust him
To let the man live
Im learning to hold
His life in my hands
Im learning to love
Me just as I am

Special Needs Kindergarten
The students from the school
With the small bus
(the bus parents must
Stand beside, on the sidewalk
In front of their house)
Are not taught about how they are disabled,
But how they are unique—
How they are different from everyone else,
But capable of being like everyone else
If they are encouraged.
They are not concerned with becoming something
Except for becoming what they can become,
Learning for the sake of learning,
Learning to better themselves,
Learning so they can understand—
When understanding oftentimes evades them.
They read about their potential
And how they can still do remarkable things,
How the world can be at their fingertips
If they grasp for it—
Exclaiming, God-willing, hoping, needing, knowing
They can reach out and hold on for it—
If someone helps them when they need help,
If someone is listening and they return the favor—
And someone is
(ALWAYS) .
There is no one quite like them and they are content
To be that way;
There's nothing inconspicuous
Looming in the air,
Pushing pockets of perfumed
Ideology down their nostrils,
Their throats,
Their ears,
Or anything.
They are happy,
Or try to be happy,
Because they can,
And because other people want them to feel
That way.
Why can't we do the same thing for everyone else?
Why can't we believe in their happiness
Or their pursuit of it?
Why can't we trust in each other
To assist with our difficulties
And learn to care in the process?
Why can't we accept who we are
And be proud of it,
Especially considering how easy we have it—
Especially considering how challenging life can be for others?

To Read And Read Again
TO READ AND READ AGAIN
To read and to read again
And to be left empty
By the abundance of words
Whose meanings multiplication
Erases all sense
Of their coherence
And our understanding.
To read and read again
As if in this pretence of learning
Salvation will come
To read and read again
And be forever dumb.

Fantastic Voyage
In the event that this fantastic voyage
Should turn to erosion and we never get old
Remember its true, dignity is valuable
But our lives are valuable too
Were learning to live with somebodys depression
And I dont want to live with somebodys depression
Well get by, I suppose
Its a very modern world, but nobodys perfect
Its a moving world, but thats no reason
Shoot some of those missiles
Think of us as fatherless scum
It wont be forgotten
cause well never say anything nice again, will we?
And the wrong words make you listen
In this criminal world
Remember its true, loyalty is valuable
But our lives are valuable too
Were learning to live with somebodys depression
And I dont want to live with somebodys depression
Well get by I suppose
But any sudden movement Ive got to write it down
They wipe out an entire race and Ive got to write it
Down
But Im still getting educated but Ive got to write it down
And it wont be forgotten
cause Ill never say anything nice again, how can i?

A look at the state of education in our society today or The New 3 R's Of TodayLearning, Education, and School
Learning, Education, and School
Many years ago, education was much simpler, or so it seemed!
You had the Three R’s, a red brick school house, and it was clean!
Then we added courses like Latin and Greek- of how awful- hard to speak,
Never fear, let us add courses that will help art, shop and Home Ec- for something to eat.
That’s right, food for thought,
After all isn’t that is what school is all about.
For forty plus years we followed that rule,
We cooked up a great education until finally in the end we listened to the political correctness fools
We discarded the ingredients that made our school great only to add new programs and policies which promote racism and hate..
What happened to our vocational programs, places where we taught our students trades,
What happened to learning work as part of the dignity of man?
What happened to learning is easy to see, instead of learning correctly,
We are learning to fail because we are failing to read,
Sstudents are porous and need to be reached.
Essays, standard tests, and computer programs are great, but can they replace touch of loving parents?
Listen to me, just a cry in the dark, it’s not our schools that are falling apart.
We have lost our direction and maybe our focus.
For you see it not your test score that count one, two, and three
It simply must be the students who learn their A, B, and C’s
They apply what they learn, not with paper and pen,
but with hands, hearts, and mind and souls.
So we can all learn to live together happily once and again.

Doin' What Comes Natur'lly
ANNIE OAKLEY and FEMALE CHORUS:
Folks are dumb where I come from,
They ain't had any learning.
Still they're happy as can be
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).
Folks like us could never fuss
With schools and books and learning.
Still we've gone from A to Z,
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally)
You don't have to know how to read or write
When you're out with a feller in the pale moonlight.
You don't have to look in a book to find out
What he thinks of the moon and what is on his mind.
That comes naturally (that comes naturally).
My uncle out in Texas can't even write his name.
He signs his checks with "x's"
But they cash them just the same.
If you saw my pa and ma,
You'd know they had no learning,
Still they've raised a family
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally)
Cousin Jack has never read an almanac on drinking
Still he's always on the spree
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).
Sister Sal who's musical has never had a lesson,
Still she's learned to sing off-key
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).
You don't have to go a private school
Not to pick up a penny near a stubborn mule,
You don't have to have a professor's dome
Not to go for the honey when the bee's not home.
That comes naturally (that comes naturally).
My tiny baby brother, who's never read a book,
Knows one sex from the other,
All he had to do was look,
Grandpa Bill is on the hill
With someone he just married.
There he is at ninety-three,
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally

An Invective Written By Mr. George Chapman Against Mr. Ben Jonson
Great, learned, witty Ben, be pleased to light
The world with that three-forked fire; nor fright
All us, thy sublearned, with luciferous boast
That thou art most great, most learn'd, witty most
Of all the kingdom, nay of all the earth;
As being a thing betwixt a human birth
And an infernal; no humanity
Of the divine soul shewing man in thee.
* * * * *
Though thy play genius hang his broken wings
Full of sick feathers, and with forced things,
Imp thy scenes, labour'd and unnatural,
And nothing good comes with thy thrice-vex'd call,
Comest thou not yet, nor yet? O no, nor yet;
Yet are thy learn'd admirers so deep set
In thy preferment above all that cite
The sun in challenge for the heat and light
Of heaven's influences which of you two knew
And have most power in them; Great Ben, 'tis you.
Examine him, some truly-judging spirit,
That pride nor fortune hath to blind his merit,
He match'd with all book-fires, he ever read
His dusk poor candle-rents; his own fat head
With all the learn'd world's, Alexander's flame
That Caesar's conquest cow'd, and stript his fame,
He shames not to give reckoning in with his;
As if the king pardoning his petulancies
Should pay his huge loss too in such a score
As all earth's learned fires he gather'd for.
What think'st thou, just friend? equall'd not this pride
All yet that ever Hell or Heaven defied?
And yet for all this, this club will inflict
His faultful pain, and him enough convict
He only reading show'd; learning, nor wit;
Only Dame Gilian's fire his desk will fit.
But for his shift by fire to save the loss
Of his vast learning, this may prove it gross:
True Muses ever vent breaths mixt with fire
Which, form'd in numbers, they in flames expire
Not only flames kindled with their own bless'd breath
That gave th' unborn life, and eternize death.
Great Ben, I know that this is in thy hand
And how thou fix'd in heaven's fix'd star dost stand
In all men's admirations and command;
For all that can be scribbled 'gainst the sorter
Of thy dead repercussions and reporter.
The kingdom yields not such another man;
Wonder of men he is; the player can
And bookseller prove true, if they could know
Only one drop, that drives in such a flow.
Are they not learned beasts, the better far
Their drossy exhalations a star
Their brainless admirations may render;
For learning in the wise sort is but lender
Of men's prime notion's doctrine; their own way
Of all skills' perceptible forms a key
Forging to wealth, and honour-soothed sense,
Never exploring truth or consequence,
Informing any virtue or good life;
And therefore Player, Bookseller, or Wife
Of either, (needing no such curious key)
All men and things, may know their own rude way.
Imagination and our appetite
Forming our speech no easier than they light
All letterless companions; t' all they know
Here or hereafter that like earth's sons plough
All under-worlds and ever downwards grow,
Nor let your learning think, egregious Ben,
These letterless companions are not men
With all the arts and sciences indued,
If of man's true and worthiest knowledge rude,
Which is to know and be one complete man,
And that not all the swelling ocean
Of arts and sciences, can pour both in:
If that brave skill then when thou didst begin
To study letters, thy great wit had plied,
Freely and only thy disease of pride
In vulgar praise had never bound thy [hide].
