Revival is A Boost
The more I loved her the more I thirsted.
The more I pursued the more she thawed.
Had I not been struck, had she not been knotted,
We would have been knotted, tightly knotted.
I heard she was fervent to get my verses.
My hormones are once more in spate thanks to her.

The Knotting Song
"Hears not my Phyllis how the birds
Their feathered mates salute?
They tell their passion in their words:
Must I alone be mute?"
Phyllis, without frown or smile,
Sat and knotted all the while.
"The god of love in thy bright eyes
Does like a tyrant reign;
But in thy heart a child he lies,
Without his dart of flame."
Phyllis, without frown or smile,
Sat and knotted all the while.
"So many months in silence past,
And yet in raging love,
Might well deserve one word at last
My passion should approve."
Phyllis, without frown or smile,
Sat and knotted all the while.
"Must then your faithful swain expire,
And not one look obtain,
Which he, to soothe his fond desire,
Might pleasingly explain?"
Phyllis, without frown or smile,
Sat and knotted all the while.

Life a mystery
a needle receiving a thread
making decisions
knotted tightly at the end
life is but a winding road.

A Pot of Gold
My dear friend
I refuse to let
you go
somehow
it is difficult
to say good-bye
the golden threads
which has held us
together
for so long
refuses to sever
they have been
inter-laced
with time, and
knotted tightly
they have withstood
many storms
I know
at the end of your
rainbow
awaits a pot of
gold.

The stitch is lost unless the thread is knotted.
The stitch is lost unless the thread be knotted.
How many more storms
can knotted oak stand, can face
before blow, rot, worms.

The Tattered Cord
The tattered cord
can again become knotted.
It holds
but it is torn.
Perhaps we'll face
each other again
but there,
where you left me,
you'll not meet me
again.

Trio
So well she knew them both! yet as she came
Into the room, and heard their speech
Of tragic meshes knotted with her name,
And saw them, foes, but meeting each with each
Closer than friends, souls bared through enmity,
Beneath their startled gaze she thought that she
Broke as the stranger on their conference,
And stole abashed from thence.

Some Days
Some days, I suture myself together
When the seams of my personality
Seem to tear so swiftly from the tether,
The quilted rag of my identity.
Some days, I allow my woolen spindle
To unravel itself into string.
Downward and unrolling, it's mass dwindles
As gravity forces it's spiraling.
Some days, I untangle the knotted threads
That tie all my patches tightly in place,
Preferring that maybe this time instead
I could sow myself and happily trace
The stitch-work compiling the positive
Ways in which, I think, I would like to live.

A Golden Treasure
Oh friend,
How I miss the times
we spent together.
These are treasures
my heart refuses to
release.
In the evening
when all is quite
your presence lingers.
The golden threads we
have woven together
in this life time
remain securely
fastened.
As we carefully
knotted the ends
tied them with pretty
ribbons.
golden threads tightly
woven
creates a lasting
friendship.
A gold and silver
treasure
to hold in reverence
not even death can
cause them to fray.

0271 The Covering
It was not bright enough, not bright enough
to show itself to them, to all; to tempt
the world to bring it gifts; the coloured wool
would say to them look here, look here
it was not strong enough, not strong enough
to meet the heat, the cold; to venture
in the world’s bright gifts; the coloured wool
would warm it in the cold, the cold
it was not safe enough, not safe enough
to shield itself from hurt; to live its life
amid the strong, the weak; the coloured wool
would hide it from the hurt, the hurt
there was not care enough, not care enough;
the wool was knotted; slipped and slid
around its centre there; the coloured wool
is knotted here and here and here
there is not time enough, not time enough
to free the wool; the wool it would cast off
from off its centre there; the coloured wool
that never was the need, the need
there were not words enough, not words enough
to free itself; itself which never had the need
to bind itself in coloured wools; it did not trust
the bright, the strong, the safe, the care, the time.

If all hearts were open and all desires known — as they would be if people showed their souls — how many gapings, sighings, clenched fists, knotted brows, broad grins, and red eyes should we see in the market-place!

On A Island In The Sun (Roundel)
You said that we would have a lot of fun,
even send me a picture where you laid
on a island, somewhere in the bright sun,
you said
I should immediately come to your aid
as your intense longing had begun,
even if I had to leave bills unpaid.
On the beach into my arms you did run
and your hair was knotted in a French braid,
of my hungry kisses you were not afraid,
you said…

Fiddler's Green
September Seventeen
For a girl I know it's Mother's Day
Here son has gone alee
And that's where he will stay
Wind on the weathervane
Tearing blue eyes sailor-mean
As Falstaff sings a sorrowful refrain
For a boy in Fiddler's Green
His tiny knotted heart
Well

Quatrain #85 - There are records that we keep hidden.........
There are records that we keep hidden in our mind and heart
of certain actions we have all done right from our life's start.
Binding us like a many knotted string coiling around our stem of life
causing us to live unnaturally and thus experience troubles and strife.

Merry Go Down
Skin and bone
Tremble on the throne
Something unexpected couldnt hurt
Behind my eyes scenes I cant describe
Intimidated, fascinated, stealing glances
Flesh and wire
Knotted with desire
Chewing on my lip to hide the truth
Picture this, everything I miss
Circle back and forth until Im green all over
Green all over
No fair, music in the air
Under your spell
Fell beneath the carousel
The sound had me spinning all around
Under your wonderful carousel
Merry go down
Skin and bone
Tremble on the throne
Something unexpected but deserved
Picture this, everything I miss
Heavens daughter underwater conversations
Flesh and wire, knotted desire
Circle back and forth until Im green all over
Green all over
No fair, music in the air
Under your spell
Fell beneath the carousel
The sound had me spinning all around
Under your wonderful carousel
Merry go down
Under your wonderful carousel
Merry go down
