Mate selection
Mating among animals and birds takes place
Not by proximity but by mate selection.
There is among humans mate selection.
Distant people are thus getting married.

Mate selection is elsewhere
.
Proximity is the venue
Where the sexual love might spark.
It is not a guarantee that
Any mate selection is made there.

Ethics of Marriage
Man has advantage of choice;
Woman has power of refusal.
Be it love or mate selection.
Married, each must give the other
No cause for seriously wishing
That he or she had bestowed themselves
Elsewhere or that they should have been
Better off with anyone else.

Humans back to animals
Meeting, dating, mating and parting-
Animals are doing but humans
Are forbidden. Animals are free
And humans are secure. Must it go?

Mate-man, Mate-woman
Mate-man, mate-woman were expressions
Jack London’s wife and Jack would use,
not only in their mating sessions
but whenever they would schmooze.
Daddy-boy and Mother-girl
were alternatives, but I
prefer the mate words when I whirl
my woman round while feeling spry.
Partners should not be a daddy
or a mother when they mate,
for how could they then be the baddie
whom lusty lovers love to date?
I get pleasure in abundance
from my mate, though she’s a mother,
Croydon hoyden she, I London’s
imperfect product whom no other
has managed to call from the wild,
domesticate, however rash
I used to be, a London child.
For her I even take out trash,
mate-woman always to me, and
the trophy of the man she twirls
around her here in La-La land,
the greatest of all Mother girls.
Inspired by Thomas Meaney’s review of Paul Malmont’s novel “Jack London in Paradise” (“Jack London, island playboy, ” LA Times, January 5,2009) :
[T]he sex scenes in 'Jack London in Paradise' come as an unexpected pleasure. Here is Jack with his temptress wife, Charmian: 'With a mournful groan, he slid onto the bed next to her... she placed her hand tenderly on his belly then slowly slid it down to where everything remained soft.' To which Charmian responds, winningly: 'Here in Aloha-land you'll grow as strong as you ever were... My Mate-Man.' Under the covers, Malmont is at his campy best, whether he means it or not (and yes, he is on firm historical footing - 'mate-man' and 'mate-woman' were the Londons' actual pet names for each other) .

Survival
Modern urban life requires survival without assistance
to some, it's merely existance
animals and humans alike, congregate at the feeding site
the wiley fox will slink in and make it's choice
along with the rat with it's squeaky voice
The bag person who carries his home around
will make his selection and slip back to the underground
These feeding sites are frowned on by some
but watch and see how many come
The supermarkets put it out to landfill
they know it wont make you ill
the starving around the world would be glad to help themselves
as soon as it's taken off those rows of shelves
Soon there will be a status quo
as animals and humans alike...off to the site they go.

You're My Mate
Ill tell you what I think, I think shes a cow
Shes let you down too many times now
Lets go for a drink, forget it for now
Put It behind you, I think its your round
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate
Ill tell you what I think, I think hes a pain
He aint got a car, but he drives you insane
Lets go for a drink and sink a few
Enough about him lets talk about you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate
Cause youre my mate
Cause youre my mate
Cause youre my mate
Cause youre my mate

Since natural selection requires a function to select, an irreducibly complex biological system, if there is such a thing, would have to arise as an integrated unit for natural selection to have anything to act on.

Sad to see
Its sad to see,
That no ones free.
Its sad to see,
No one like me.
I cry,
Then die.
I fall,
On a wall.
Its sad to see,
People pass by the homeless.
Its sad to see,
They dont help the poor.
I try to help,
But people say no.
I try to help,
But no one will isten.
Its sad to see,
Animals abused.
Its sad to see,
No one helping them.
I try to save them,
But I'm always late.
I try to save them,
But people wont give up.
Its sad to see,
When people hunt animals.
Its sad to see,
Anything bad,
Because animals,
Are humans,
And humans,
Are the animals.

I'm In Love With a Poet
You’re my soul mate
I know it, I feel it, its fate
You were born June 8,1977
I was born June 1,1977
You’re a poet by heart, it’s your destiny
You caress each word with your creativity
Spilling your soul like no other brother
Chilling the heart of this sister
You broke up with her again
Maybe you weren’t meant to be friends
Because you’re my soul mate
Although you’re a college dropout
I am here to catch you
To take you to your graduation
So don’t worry about the late registration
And all the heartbreaks
Cause I have what it takes
Cause you’re my soul mate
Let’s date
Maybe consummate
All those other girls
Girly girls
Or guys looking like girls
Don’t player-hate
Cause he’s my soul mate
No more bitter sweet loving
For my American boy
Cause he has found his soul mate

Oranges On Apple Trees
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
Oranges on apple trees
Water comes and water goes
Where it ends up no one really knows
Water rises, water falls
Where it comes from no one knows for sure
It seeps from every pore
We have seen the rain before
Not like this - its flooding every shore
People come and people go
I can hear their laughter through the door
But no ones keeping score
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
One big happy family
Endless possibilities
(yeah and more)
Oranges and apple trees
I see your face in front of me
Cant believe what no one else could see
I feel it deep inside of me
Everything we love shall be released
And everyone will see
Oranges on apple trees (for sure)
I used to be the only one
Not now since youve come
You and I have seen the signs
Thats why the wind died
The wind died
Thats why oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
Endless possibilities (now)
Oranges on apple trees
All the things that we can see
Multi-gender wannabes
Oranges on apple trees
Birds that mate with bumblebees
One big happy family
Endless possibilities (yeah yeah yeah)
Oranges on apple trees (for sure)

The Three Maidens
There were three maidens met on the highway;
The sun was down, the night was late:
And two sang loud with the birds of May,
O the nightingale is merry with its mate.
Said they to the youngest, Why walk you there so still?
The land is dark, the night is late:
O, but the heart in my side is ill,
And the nightingale will languish for its mate.
Said they to the youngest, Of lovers there is store;
The moon mounts up, the night is late:
O, I shall look on man no more,
And the nightingale is dumb without its mate.
Said they to the youngest, Uncross your arms and sing;
The moon mounts high, the night is late:
O my dear lover can hear no thing,
And the nightingale sings only to its mate.
They slew him in revenge, and his true-love was his lure;
The moon is pale, the night is late:
His grave is shallow on the moor;
O the nightingale is dying for its mate.
His blood is on his breast, and the moss-roots at his hair;
The moon is chill, the night is late:
But I will lie beside him there:
O the nightingale is dying for its mate.

From The Root
How difficult is it,
For someone to pick from a selection of rocks...
To take one to wash and keep?
Would that same person have the patience,
Or time to give...
To observe all rocks be created,
To then allow that selection to take place?
That's how easy it has become,
For those to pass their judgements done.
When all they have to do is choose to do it.
With an excusing of themselves from everything else,
That connects to the development of the process.
Doesn't life seem easier to live,
When one's hands are not accustomed...
To being involved with the making of things work?
From the root to watch with a patience,
The direction towards which they may grow.
Or have that focused as their main curiosity.

Too young, too late
A quiet lake beneath the moon
reflects the starry firmament.
The silence broken by a loon
bemoaning his predicament
A lonely loon who lacks a mate.
Announcing he’s available
Please answer before it’s too late
his isolation palpable.
Then once again silence descends.
Frustrated he gets no reply
the mating seasons nears its end.
Perhaps next year he’ll find a mate
but until then he’ll have to wait.

If we continue to accumulate only power and not wisdom, we will surely destroy ourselves. Our very existence in that distant time requires that we will have changed our institutions and ourselves. How can I dare to guess about humans in the far future? It is, I think, only a matter of natural selection. If we become even slightly more violent, shortsighted, ignorant, and selfish than we are now, almost certainly we will have no future.

True or false
Really animals do have it made.
Feeding them comes directly from God.
With us(people being the middle men)
Now give that a twist or two in your head.
People are always complaining
Never really wanting to compromise
And they pet themselves on the back
And that they are wise...?
I wonder what a birds eye view would be...
Let me see, says the bird:
'After hearing people feeling sorry for themselves
Whenever I am in ear shot..
Some how that just thicking's the human plot,
The humans have and have and not's.
After work they made go lay in the shade
Bitching: (is when one person can't seem to share with the other
Person.
But yet and still animals are fed.
...can people say that much of themselves?
Yet I am a bird and I share what I can.
And may just wake up some day as someone's
Oooo, La, la!
Look at her driving that big car,
While people in a distance place who can't really get to far
Draught is not as catching to all
Nor does it has sex appeal.
Look at him drinking his coffee everyday
While plotting on a friend or two...during his day
Killing each other for sport, fun, anger and whatever else
People deem that is correct.
Really we animals are dumb...
But damn!
Check where the human's are coming from.
I've heard a human speak of someone in passing
A jack and a Jill...how they both rolled down a hill?
Now most human children grow up and kill.
Just a birds luck...

A Mate can do no Wrong
We learnt the creed at Hungerford,
We learnt the creed at Bourke;
We learnt it in the good times
And learnt it out of work.
We learnt it by the harbour-side
And on the billabong:
'No matter what a mate may do,
A mate can do no wrong!'
He’s like a king in this respect
(No matter what they do),
And, king-like, shares in storm and shine
The Throne of Life with you.
We learnt it when we were in gaol
And put it in a song:
' No matter what a mate may do,
A mate can do no wrong!'
They’ll say he said a bitter word
When he’s away or dead.
We’re loyal to his memory,
No matter what he said.
And we should never hesitate,
But strike out good and strong,
And jolt the slanderer on the jaw –
A mate can do no wrong !

My hut
My house in a slum is a hut.
To it I return every night.
In it lives as grown stale my mate.
My hut and my mate are a safe bet
To me who am shut to other huts.
To sleep in I return to my hut.
To sleep with, I return to my mate.
I am used to it, though a hut.

Hummingbird
Hummingbird! keep on humming your wings,
With lavender feathered wings hover in wind.
Nectar of sweet petals sweeten your hymn,
Just in half syllables, is your chirping chime.
On a tree near brook, sitting in the serenity
You sigh for your mate, one who is celebrity.
You see his show of swoop before resonating
affirmation of acceptance for your mating.
Our contract is for this spring and not forever
I know little creature this is what you whisper.
In architected nest two pretty pearls are laid;
In three months, have to become hummingbird.
Mate of mankind, you are the love teacher.
Perhaps they gave idea of the helicopter.
