Carl Sagan

If we continue to accumulate only power and not wisdom, we will surely destroy ourselves. Our very existence in that distant time requires that we will have changed our institutions and ourselves. How can I dare to guess about humans in the far future? It is, I think, only a matter of natural selection. If we become even slightly more violent, shortsighted, ignorant, and selfish than we are now, almost certainly we will have no future.

Since natural selection requires a function to select, an irreducibly complex biological system, if there is such a thing, would have to arise as an integrated unit for natural selection to have anything to act on.

None More Selfish Than I

Some humans are such selfish creatures and none more selfish than I
The World revolves around me and praise of self I do enjoy
Some call it self survival or call it what you may
And meanwhile people dying of hunger every day.

I've never known what it feels like to be hungry or known of hunger pain
Yet of my poor existence I often do complain
So many poor and oppressed people would envy one like me
It surely can be a relative thing when one talks of poverty.

I meet so many selfish people who for themselves only care
Of the sufferings of others they don't even seem to care
As well as self centred they are ignorant and without thinking they say
That poverty is self inflicted in the World of today.

I may be a selfish bugger but in that I'm not alone
And I am one not without sin so I can't cast the stone
I feel that the World revolves around me how selfish can one be
And only the best of people are blessed with the gift of empathy.

Future Babies

A flower stands erect upon the stem.

Odd:
It bears the naked flesh of many men –
Pulsing, writhing, arteries humming;
Androgenic fluids chase their channels
To the ground, caking at a mound
Of naked girls, who pout in doubt and
Hurl their rabid glares from eyes
That catch the light of want
And desperation.

Sighs:
They know the separation
Stays their open legs
From bursting cocks.

Masturbation of the mind
Is all they need –
They’re in the docks of
Fate:
The evil Overpopulation’s out to feed
Their thund’rous urge to procreate!

Forget the conjugation, just for once?
Bag the bulbous tits in bras.
I know they want the tongue on c*nts;

But focus! Where’s the room to live?
And think about the future babies.

THINK:

You know they won’t forgive
Your selfish drive to suck, to shag.
The Dying Age of Man will drag
Him down to disappear.

So keep the girls away from sperm –
Don’t let the men up there!

The Few Chore

The future is here
I'll say it again
The future is here
Two thousand ten
Flying cars, time-warps
Food comes in pill-form
Robots n' teleports
Progress is still-born

The future came and went
I guess thats the past
The future is coming
I bet it won't last
The past is tomorrow
Or will be next week
Time's a mother****er
The future is bleak.

Future to Future

in the future moments will
come when one person says
to another, “That was great! ”

we never know what
the future holds in store
for us-in it’s infinite
wisdom-but surely you and I
know of it’s impending arrival

some believe the future
holds great times ahead,
some believe in a bleak
fate and still others believe
unborn moments hold
a catastrophic end

me, I like to think that
maybe, just maybe, it
will all happen at the same
instance-I mean some things
will be great, some bleak,
some beginnings and some endings

“great” things will only
happen in the future, because
of now, and that’s tough enough
to decipher-so I will plead, now,
and leave the future to the future

Mate selection

Mating among animals and birds takes place
Not by proximity but by mate selection.
There is among humans mate selection.
Distant people are thus getting married.

Until you heal the wounds of your past, You will continue to bleed into the future,

Until you heal the wounds of your past,

You will continue to bleed into the future,

One can own ones past, but you can heal,

Move on I was told, by a human heart, mine,

A statement I read,

'Until you heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed into the future.'

Gave me the the words,

I now own my future,

My human heart told me, it is time,

I own my past,

Now the past is misplaced,

It will rear it's ugly head, from time to time,

But the future is mine to keep,

Beyond all past examples, the future is mine,

Not knowing the future is exciting,

But it's mine to dream.

Time and Experience

I found the past in my present
I built the future on my past
I found the gift of today
When I thought about what
The future has to offer
Where is the wisdom in experience
If there is no folly in wisdom
What's the real meaning of death
If our spirits live forever
Times never change
But circumstances do
I'll let mystery play with the future
Surprises couple with the present
And experience mourn the past
Because sun always rises from the east
And each day always comes to an end
Experience is not chained to wisdom
Nor is folly tied to bad results
But to the circumstances that burden
Our past, present and future because
Time is always anxious for the future
Experience loves the present
And wisdom never divorces the past

Future of Straw

I have a future
I built with with bricks and cement
And rods and rocks
But weak bonded future
did I join with it
The future I share with you
Of straw and ropes
And twigs and mud
The future we can't rebuild
The future of love and togetherness
Turns to enmity and loneliness
Had I power to stop such strong envy
Probably, you know what we could have accomplished
Even by now
But I lacked vision
To see the future
Even though,
If it's this way
I consider it better
Better still were my hopes
that it would be
As it was before
But alas,
Clash,
Falls our future of straw!

Features of the Future

I'm closer to the future
Than I was yesterday.
The highway of the future
Is in each break of day.
I frame my future
By the decisions I make.
I encounter the future
If diligent steps I take.
Plans for the future
I made in the past.
Today I face the future
Yet it won't last.
Depending on the future
Is so inefficient.
Because the so-called future
Is vague and transcient!
'you'll live well in the future
if the present is well lived! ! '

We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind of self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.

The Ashes of My Life

What is left but the ashes of my life
of all that came before?
What of the future, still unknown?
What waits beyond life’s door?
Can I take with me all the things
that I can remember?
It’s hard for me to recollect my birth
from a distant cold December.

My memories, one by one accumulate
and become my private pain.
Well, what of the joys and loves I had,
surely they will remain
amongst the earthly realms I knew.
And only those that knew me well
will feel the toll that is death’s knell
as into the wind my ashes blew.

Future's Fault

I will blame you my future child
If you forget about the past
And repeat again our same mistake
I will blame you my future child
If you deny your land
That we protect with our blood
I will blame you my future child
If you danger humanity
Though I’ve taught you always
Do not hurt if you don’t want be hurt
I can’t protect you forever
I’ll be swept by time and slowly disappear
I will blame you my future child
If you destroy the world
Only to fill your greedy wish
You can always blame me
For not making you good and wealthy
But future after you is also
Depends from what you do now

The Seers!

A DAY IS BORN FOR THE WISE!
SEE YE THE FUTURE!
IT HOLDS WISDOM FOR THE WISE!
THEY THAT SEE THE PRESENT ARE BUT LOOKERS!
THEY THAT SEE THE FUTURE ARE BUT VISIERS!
AND THEY THAT SEE ETERNITY ARE GRAND VISIERS!
I HAVE SEEN INFINITY AND BEYOND!
AND LO! THE WISDOM OF THE WISE IS BECOME FOOLISHNESS!
AND THE WISDOM OF THEIR ASTROLOGERS ARE BECOME INSANITY!
IF THEY BE WISE, WHY SOWETH THEY' ETERNAL TROUBLES AS SEED FOR THEIR FUTURE CHILDREN?
FOR LO, LIKE A SEA IS THE ENEMIES THAT HAS FALLEN UPON THE POWERS THAT BE TODAY!
TRUELY, I SAW MYSELF IN THAT SEA!

Broken Ideas

Summer passed my pen is stopped
More sleep and fatigue
No thinking at all
No flow in the head or veins
A dirty mind with broken ideas
Sleepless nights and heavy days
Have lost my brain with torture
Upon the ugly face of the world
That world which is full of terror
Horrors and threats of attacks
Power hungry humans search for hunting
Dragons came alive in open days
Upon the head they circles
Searching for any ugly child
Having no cloths and barefooted
That will be a future terrorist
Because he can stand before states
The guns can be afraid of him
A natural struggle make him strong
A brutal environment make him stiff
Secret people came to his surrounding
Put him in a few dollars dream
A bright future and zeal to live
Mixing religious thoughts with it
An innocent soul ignorant of deceit
Make a wrong turn a selfish move
Bring his destruction by his own selfishness
The news shows a blown out person
Unaware of being deceived by a remote device
The money goes back to the masters
No one to claim it remains
A trick so wisely invented
My pen stops and mind unhealthy
Humanity is slaughtered down
I can not write any more
I pray for love every where
On the mountains, fields and roads
May the people know each other
With grace and respect
Without any prejudice
