Many slips in between

My predilection for her was total.
A friend of mine came in as a rival.
As a shock came their wedding announcement.
Could it be possible that my averment
Of my background had pricked her on to this
Just as my possessiveness shown to her
May have pricked her on to her engagement.
Between grips and lips, there are many slips.

About possessiveness

No mind to lend
Is material possessiveness.
To interfere with others
Is personal possessiveness.
To spy your spouse
Is sexual possessiveness.
To catch others’ eyes
Is name possessiveness.
To will to live post death
Is self possessiveness.
The last one is the strongest
With crippling effects.

Caked In Dust

Nit picking is your 'special' gift.
And you snicker when you wish to needle.
Knowing it annoys a bit.

I'm bottled up.
You don't seem to know when it's enough.
I wish I could adhesive tape,
The flow of the rushing stuff...
I would love to hush up.

I'm bottled up.
And feeling like I'm sinking in a tub.
Corrupted by the notion this is love.
But the love I felt is caked in dust...
And pains me in the gut.

I'm bottled up.
And feeling pricked, nit picked and needled.
Bottled up.
Like a pin stuck through a beetle.
Bottled up!
And feeling pricked, nit picked and needled.
And this sickens me to heave...
Too weakened I am I can't leave.

I'm bottled up.
And feeling pricked, nit picked and needled.
Bottled up.
Like a pin stuck through a beetle.
Bottled up!
And feeling pricked, nit picked and needled.
And this sickens me to heave...
Too weakened I am I can't leave.

I'm bottled up.
Too weakened I am I can't leave.
And I know this gives you pleasing relief!

Possessiveness

Every inch of yours
is mine.

Every breath of yours
is mine.

Every space of yours
is mine.

Every move of yours
is mine.

I'm possessiveness
personified!

I need you, own you,
have you, possess you.

Every moment of your life,
all your time...is all mine!

Possessiveness
possesses me...

They say: detachment
is the best policy.

So here I go...

Let me renounce the world
to remain attached to thee!

Possessiveness owns me.

They say: remain aloof
to get detached. Separate
and go your own ways.

What they don't know is
Attachment has nothing
to do with proximity....

Even if you are far across
the seven continents
and the seven seas...
You'll never be able to
disown me!

I'm attached to you.
So are you, to me...

We are partners in possessiveness!

Every smell of yours
I possess
as if like a fragrance
I emanate from thee...

Every sight of yours
I possess, as if
in your eyes, you only
see me...

Possessiveness
possesses us...
like partners in fantasy.

This divine attraction
is the culmination of
love's orgasmic ecstasy!

Beauty

I pricked my finger on a thorn
and saw my blood run red.
I winced but focused on the rose
beside the thorn instead.
For pain is nothing compared to beauty.
It's just a temporary phase.
But the rose beside the thorn that hurts
is worthy of all praise.

I pressed the rose inside my book
so that it would last.
I saw the thorn that pricked my finger
but the moment of that had passed.
For lasting pain recedes in time
but beauty stays with you.
Now as I reopen the book once more
It's only the beauty I view.

I Held A Rose

i held a rose
i pricked a thorn
i watched the storm come
break the moan
i am alone
i was ashamed
no thing to blame but
a rose
she dare inspire
more than a keep
more than a week could
ask of me
i held a rose
i pricked a thorn
i watched the storm come
break the moan

'Her lips were like the dewy rose'
'Meaning, I suppose,
She pricked you moistly when she kissed you.'

Meaning that they were,
Excellent but few.'

Like Trying to Get Close to a Cactus

I know what it is like
To be attracted to someone
With cold shoulders.

It is like trying to get close to a cactus.
You don't wish to get pricked...
But there is something addicting,
That makes one going back to it!

I know what it's like,
To feel alone...
With someone there,
Laying next to me in bed.

And I don't want to be touched.
Or move too much!

It took me a long time to admit,
I was not involved in a relationship.
Whatever it was,
I grew comfortable with!
Like knowing a pet is around...
If it or you wishes to be found.
A convenience that takes place,
Of a total absence.

Poverty Grass

Wild horses we
Pricked at the wind,
Never to know, alas;
That all the lord of our fortunes bought
For us
Was poverty grass.

Poverty grass
The paupered seed
So sickly poor, alas;
The souls of the great untamed grow weak
Despair
On poverty grass.

And you, my friend,
Grew sick awhile,
And cried and cried, alas;
While I grew fat on a flowering weed
Called pride
And poverty grass.

And when you left
The field to me
I almost died, alas;
For I was left in a fallow field
Piled high
In poverty grass.

Wild horses we
Pricked at the wind,
Never to know, alas;
That all the lord of our fortunes bought
For us
Was poverty grass.

Averment of truth

Don’t say that one is black that one is though.
Don’t say that one is dwarf that one is though.
Say that one is fair or flair though one isn’t.
Averment of truth will not earn you friends.

The Package

Clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
Eye on what I'm after
I don't need another friend
Smile and drop the cliche
'Till you think I'm listening
I take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again
Peripheral on the package
Don't care to settle in
Time to feed the monster
I don't need another friend
Comfort is a mystery
Crawling out of my own skin
Just give me what I came for, then I'm out the door again
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get just what I need
Lie to get what I crave
Lie and smile to get what's mine
Eye on what I'm after
I don't need another friend
Nod and watch your lips move
If you need me to pretend
Because clever got me this far
Then tricky got me in
I'll take just what I came for
Then I'm out the door again
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I'm craving
Lie and smile to get what's mine
Give this to me
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Lie to get what I came for
Lie to get what I need now
Lie to get what I crave
Lie to smile and get what's mine
Give this to me
Take what's mine
Mine, mine, mine
Take what's mine
Give this to me
Take what's mine, take what's mine, mine...
Take what's mine, take what's mine, take what's mine,
This is mine, mine, mine, not mine

No Sea

There is no sea here,
I see no sea;
This is the body of the desert,
The rich made faint blue,
From stolen oceans,
And it is where I live now;
In the dizzy trail of the sleeping conquistadors,
In your memory,
And the super-market sample of love
You gave me to try some many years ago:
Here the cactus I pricked my thumb on,
And this one has stolen my jersey;
These are the naked declivities,
The changing rooms absent of shadowy abdomens,
The red stones of stolen Indian reservations,
The retirement homes for snow birds;
The corrugated roofs where no rain falls,
While your lips peck his opium neck,
His steroid elbows,
His cocaine phallus: I walk out into the naked abscesses
Of some disease;
The doctors have given it your Christian name,
And the perfume which smells like your showered flesh.
Surely now, I will live into obscurity,
My dogs chasing the jack-rabbits, and I your c$nt;
The sun is a bronzed gladiator, upon which I decapitate;
Tomorrow the stock cars will go around and around,
The smell of expensive gasoline, worshiping you;
The legs you keep unhinged for the carnival of strong men,
Baptized in the single fluidity we have here;
Pagan, I worship you,
Without a breeze, the dead boats, and it feels like crucifixion,
My organs pricked by the briars of the blistered graveyard
Of you, unblinking.

Friend Of Mine

(odette quesada)
Ive known you for so long
You are a friend of mine
But is this all wed ever be?
Ive loved you ever since
You are a friend of mine
And babe is this all we ever could be?
Refrain:
You tell me things Ive never known
I shown you love youve never shown
But then again, when you cry
Im always at your side
You tell me bout the love youve had
I listen very eagerly
But deep inside youll never see
This feeling of emptiness
It makes me feel sad
But then again Im glad
Ive known you all my life
You are a friend of mine
I know this is how its gonna be
Ive loved you then and I love you still
Youre a friend of mine
Now, I know friends are all we ever could be
You tell me things Ive never known
I shown you love youve never shown
But then again, when you cry
Im always at your side
You tell me bout the love youve had
I listen very eagerly
But deep inside youll never see
This feeling of emptiness
It makes me feel sad
But then again
Then again
Then again Im glad

Sharper

I know that you are sharp.
I didn’t know
That you are sharper
Than I thought.

You pricked my heart
Without pain felt.
You bent my ego
Without crack seen.
Now you sent me to hell
With senses slain.

Can I Want Your Love

(stephony smith/aimee mayo/jive)
Is this wrong or is this real
Should I deny the way I feel
Every time I get close to you
Feels like Im doin somethin
Im not supposed to
Can I want your love
Would it be ok
I wonder what you would say
If I kissed your lips
Would it shock your heart
Or do you want to go that far
Can I want your love
Do I dare cross this line
cause girl, my desire might make you mine
This temptation is such a rush
How much of you am I worthy of
Can I want your love
Would it be ok
I wonder what you would say
If I kissed your lips
Would it shock your heart
Or do you want to go that far
Can I want your love
Every time I get close to you
Feels like Im doin something
