Desires to fire

Dissimilarity be with similarity,
Distance be with nearness and
Strangeness be with familiarity
For love to fire in each pair.

Love succeeds the desire.

It is her figure that drew me near.
The nearness brought me the desire.
The fire of desire led to the flame
Of love. Love stayed; desire died.
The wife is only a loved specimen.

The Comfort of Familiarity

The comfort of familiarity,
Should not give some license
To disrespect openly!
Or disregard others living lives,
As they choose their lives to be.
Who gave who rights to be the mortgagor
And the mortgagee of this 'property'!

The comfort of familiarity,
Imposes on those with opinions expressed.
To feel accepted by a few,
Many drool to impress.
Dressed they seek with pretentions shown,
Just to be suppressed by intentions known!

The comfort of familiarity...
Looks for similarity to address!
To produce annoying conflicts enjoyed,
By those addicted to live with unrest!
Instead of encouraging themselves...
To live no less than their best!

Nearness

Suddenly there's nearness
and then it goes away.
Sometimes you wish it would leave.
Sometimes you wish it would stay.

The nearness I love
I keep in my heart.
The nearness I hate
I let depart.

Nothing Left To Complain About

I am fearing the nearness of you.
Something within me wishes to submit.
Something that you do,
Allows with me to feel a comfort...
And a peacefulness.

I am fearing the nearness of you.
Too long have I been,
Denying to friends...
A compassion with love,
Would complete me once again.

But...
I find that I am fearing,
A nearness of you.
And it is the ease of a chemistry,
I feel with you I never knew before.

And...
I am fearing this nearness of you.
A closeness totally unexpected.
And one that strips me of my defenses,
Too.

I am fearing the nearness of you.
And so afraid you know this.
By the things you say and do...
With a patience that confuses.
And you are getting close,
To breaking down 'this' wall...
To have me love you most!

I am fearing the nearness of you.
You know just what you are doing!
And...
I've never been like that.
Wanting with desire to be the one pursued.

And here we are you and I.
With me fearing the nearness of you,
So close by my side.
And yet feel upset...
That I have nothing left to complain about.

'There is nothing left for you to complain about.'

How did you know I was thinking that?

'You seem to be upset.
With me you will have no regrets.
Just let whatever happens,
Be!
A life lived will uncover the facts.'

Keep Your Distance

Keep your distance.
Be far from me.
Be where you know
that I can't see.
For any closer
might we not be
frightened to the core
of finality?

Keep your distance.
Be not here.
For the nearness of you
brings on fear
that if you leave
there will be another year
that you keep your distance
and disappear.

The Nearness Of You

Why do I just wither and forget all resistance
When you and your magic pass by
My hearts in a dither dear
When youre at a distance
But when you are near, oh my...
Its not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me,
Oh no
Its just the nearness of you
It isnt your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation,
Oh no
Its just the nearness of you
When youre in my arms
And I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams
Came true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If youll only grant me
The right
To hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you.

The Story Of Modern Verses

The story that had started in wonder
The story that had started in pain
The story that always remained untold
The story that could never unfold
The reality of complex human natures
The story that could only capture
The superficial aspects of humanity
That is the story of modern verses
That is the only story of our modern age.

There comes the hatred full of love
And love full of hatred
There stands the familiarity at a distance
And a distant association and nearness
More glorified than any day to day familiarity.

The story of modern verses always reminds us
About the shallowness of modernity
About the obscurity of the material world.

This story once told shall touch the base
And would make everybody else to lose the race
Because winning is no more the destiny,
The destiny is only love, faith and submission
The destiny is only achieved by losing
At all phases of life - as the winning game
Is full of distortions and unhappiness.

The story of modern verses clicks in the mind of society
To push it through the hollow modern age
And make it reach the destiny of truth and harmony.

I have a habit of comparing the phraseology of communiqus, one with another across the years, and noting a certain similarity of words, a certain similarity of optimism in the reports which followed the summit meetings and a certain similarity in the lack of practical results during the ensuing years.

Passion and vision

There must be some familiarity for passion,
Though much familiarity brings aversion
There must be some distance for vision,
Though too long or too short, it blurs the vision.

That Strangeness

we are layered with
years
like skins shedding off
and then
the new ones that
you see
smooth, young
supple

how many years?
we are silent still to
this strangeness

i wonder
how this love sees you
always
new to me
vibrant
illumined

shadow to my shadow
mist to my mountain

waves to my shore
soft breeze
constantly leaving and
coming

i shy away from
familiarity
i tiptoe
towards the door of
our memories

Faraway From You

i have traversed so much distance,

got that this sense of being far away
where no intimacy can reach me as i

avoided that which is so near that which i cannot touch
because nearness is blindness

and when i become so blind how can i see the beauty of color

the coolness of the wind in you
the blueness of your affection

it is this distance that makes me see the rainbow
which i carried in my heart

it has the scent of longing
the you

so far away from me and yet still becomes my own shadow
when i sleep and dream

you are still beside me, and then we are one again
in wanting to forget

i shall fool love again and make it believe that
there is you

there is none
really there is none

what is there is this pain
my own shadow in your shadow

You Will Find This Comfort

come, and be with me
find comfort in my strangeness
as i too, shall find the same in you.

we did not know where were we
when we were children
now we find ourselves in such
attractive strangeness

come, come and be with me
let us learn to love our own strange ways
let us embrace our own uniqueness
let us see how love and friendship surprise us.

A Dichotomy Of Lovers Asleep

what i like about you
is the strangeness
that which i cannot understand
because you are
too near
that which i cannot hold
because you are so fragile
that which i cannot love
because you have
kept the distance
between two worlds
that prefer to be independent
and indifferent

what i like about you
is what you like about me too
and when we meet
we understand
that we have to take our separate ways
just to be happy i guess

The Universe Is Stranger

THE UNIVERSE IS STRANGER

The universe is stranger
Than the Strangeness we now know-
Its stranger than the Strangeness
The past has so far shown.

The universe is Stranger
Than Strangeness will ever be
It has within itself its own –
Unpredictability.

We cannot know
Cannot suggest
But one day it may well express
Its essence as
God’s Greatest Guess.

Throwing Away

i have thrown away
some memories of the past

it is the distance that makes
us see clearly
what we adore before
has nothing to restore
what we claim we dearly love
now we abhor

there is disgust that
like some things too
exist forever

distance creates that sense of balance
gives us that feeling
of wasted time

i shy away from the nearness that blinds me
into caring for you

now you are on top of the hill worshiping your sun
i stay on the plains
looking at your small, fragile body
casting a sharp shadow
on the other part of the hill

there are no more echoes to hear
for i have closed my ears
i put on my shoes and take my first step
towards an understanding that all the while

i had been wronged.
