Keep Your Distance
Keep your distance.
Be far from me.
Be where you know
that I can't see.
For any closer
might we not be
frightened to the core
of finality?
Keep your distance.
Be not here.
For the nearness of you
brings on fear
that if you leave
there will be another year
that you keep your distance
and disappear.
