Death hurts not the body.

There is meaning if I dread depth.
There is meaning if I dread beasts.
There is risk of hurts to the body.
Must I dread death that leaves no hurts?

If Im scared let me lose it
If Im hungry let me have it
If Im cold let my skin rise
If Im wrong let me learn it
If Im grubby let the dirt stay
If Im tired let me shut my eyes
I have dread and fear and light and laughter
I know there is an ever after
Im eager and ready
It only hurts sometimes
I run to the future and jump
If Im hurt let me feel it
If Im sad let the tears run
If Im stupid let me be that way
And if Im bored let me show it
And if Im bad let me be it
If Im sure let me have my say
I have dread and fear and light and laughter
I know there is an ever after
Im eager and ready
It only hurts sometimes
I run to the future and jump

Meaning Of Loneliness

Lost in a strange city, no where to turn
Far cry from the streets that I came from
It can get lonely when you're trav'ling hard
But you can even be lonely
Standin' in your own backyard
Nobody knows the existential dread
Of the things that go on inside someone else's head
Whether it be trivial or something that Dante said
But baby, nobody knows the meaning of loneliness
No matter how well ya know someone
You can only ever guess
How can you ever really know somebody else?
It takes more than a lifetime
Just to get to know yourself
Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness
(Instrumental & sax)
I have to say a word about solitude
For the soul it sometimes, they say can be good
And I'm partial to it myself, and well I must confess
Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness
Well, it's Satra and Camu
Neitche and Hess
If ya dig deep enough you're gonna end
Up in distress
And no one escapes havin' to live life
Under duress
And no one escapes the meaning of loneliness
Well, they say keep it simple
When it gets to be a mess
And fame and fortune
Never brought anyone happiness
I must be lucky, some of my friends think
That I'm really blessed
Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness
No-no-no-no-no-no
Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness
No-no, no-ooh body knows the meaning of loneliness
Nobody knows the meaning of loneliness.

Roots

Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
I and I are the roots
Some are the dry wood
Fe catch up the fire
Whoa, lo ok at that
They need some dry wood
To cook up the raw food
Whoa, look at that
I got to survive
Inna dis man maniac downpression
Got to survive
In iration, yeah
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Remember that I and I are the roots
Some are wolf
Inna sheeps clothing
Whoa, look at that
Many are called
But only a few are chosen
Whoa, look at that
Nothing that dividers can do
Cant seperate us from our father
Whoa, look at that
You see, blood is thicker than water
Whoa, look at that
Got to survive
Inna disyah ghetto, yeah
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Remember that I and I are the roots
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Whoa, I and I are the roots
Some are leaves
While some are branches
But remember I and I are the roots
Some are dry wood
Fe catch up the fire
Whoa, look at that
Got to survive
Inna dis man maniac downpression
Got to survive
In iration
Roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Hey, I and I are the roots
Ooh we, roots natty roots
Dread binghi dread
Oh yeah, I and I are the roots

I dread this day
I look and see everyone else getting gifts
I just had that the week before

I dread this day as much as my death day

It hurts

It hurts being me.
I want to break free.
I wish I could let go.
I wish I could move on.
I only wish I knew how.
I've lived with this for so long.
I only wish I could be strong.
What they did was wrong.
But still I let them win.
I cant put it where it belongs in the bin.
Please let me be me.
God help me win.
Please let me win the fight.
Even though it leaves me with fright.
And I fear the on going plight.
God it hurts to be me.
They say god dosent give you any more than you can handel.
So why can't I handel this?
It hurts It hurts.
IT HURTS

Love will soon be here

a dark mist falls across the land,
haunting all that it passes,
filling them with dread and hope,
that love will soon be here.

a raindropp falls on a child's face,
mixing with his falling tears,
filling him with dread and hope,
that love will soon be here.

as she covers it with makeup,
she has accepted the pain,
filing her with dread and hope,
that love will soon be here.

as i stare at the moon,
it shines just for me,
filling me with dread and hope,
that love will soon be here.

Hurts To Be In Love

More and more
Your kiss is like a half opened door
I cant get in
You stop me just before I begin
And it hurts to be in love
When you never get enough
Oh it hurts to be in love
This endless urge
Keeps my body right on the verge
We touch and then
I wanna do it all over again
And it hurts to be in love
When you only want me half as much
I tell you it hurts to be in love
Im always worried you think Im pushing too hard
Oh baby it hurts me when you tell me Im going to far
We touch and then
I wanna do it all over again
And it hurts to be in love
When you only want me half as much
I tell you it hurts to be in love
It hurts
Baby it hurts
It hurts

Love Hurts

Love hurts,
It hurts to the core
When hands loosen the intimate clasp
And they turn poles apart
One rushing to the North
And the other, South.

Love hurts,
It hurts to the core
When the bunch of withered roses
And thorns, leaves and stems
Gather dust on the window sill
Of a dishevelled house.

Love hurts,
It hurts to the core
When they don't look eye to eye,
And Love is no more blind,
For a raging storm from nowhere takes over
The effeminate steam of
The wintry-morning cup of tea,
Over the bitter argument
Of perfect spoon of sugar,
To be or not to be added
To the flavour of real Indian tea.

Love hurts,
It hurts to the core
For the waiting hurts me more.

A Herbal Mystic

Rastaman, fight them back
With a heart attack.
Lick them back,
Like them beat you down.
Brace your loins, like a king
And let the natty blow in the winds.
Dread, burn Babylon
With a herbal mystic,
Mystic!
Mystic!

They killed The Savior,
Born in a manger.
Killed the prophets,
With hatchets.
And the liars are still standing.
The oppressor man
Still grand-standing.
So Bungoman say:
'You want to kill Ital,
make it swift
because this dread
is not adrift'.

Rastafari!
Rastafari!
Jesus is not dead.
Rastafari!
Rastafari!
Jesus is a Dread,
Dread!
Dread!

I can see Babylon burning.
I can see Babylon turning,
Turning red,
Red!
Red!
Red!

Teakbois

@song: the life and times of bobby dread
(anderson / howe / wakeman / bruford)
Jump out this next world
Is gone overground
That sky is ecstasy dancin
My child my woman
My daughter my son
Together planning to party
Just wait for me
Out in the street
Teakbois in everywhere
Dancing with you
Were coming thru
Somehow well all be there
This time is surely
Come once and for all
Weve waited so now
We are ready
Be quick be ready
Be sure and be smart
No need the energy wasted
Ive dreamed of music
That comes from the heart
As tho the eagle has landed
Just wait for me
Out in the street
Teakbois is everywhere
Dancing with you
Were coming thru
Everyone will be there
She smiles my mind
Is just blown I cant stop
No time is better than now
I wake up everyday
Before the sun is coming up
Bobby dread and the kool running
The fish to catch
The sea to swim
They say I gotta life
To live
Bobby dread and the kool running
My music is my only witness
To my very soul
Bobby dread and the kool running
So when you need me
All you have to do is help me
Lose control
Bobby dread and the kool running
They say the worlds a stage
So let me play for you and you and you
Bobby dread and the kool running
Its all I ever in my life
I really wanted
To sing and do
Bobby dread and the kool running
We form a group a simple name
A secret harmony like
Bobby dread and the kool running
We write our songs
We symphonise
Some people say they like us
Bobby dread and the kool running
This summer you couldnt get it

I Dread the Silence

I need noise when I’m awake
I dread the silence when I am not asleep
It’s either pounding my eardrums with songs, music or any mp3s
or razzing it to an audio book or MTVs
Noise has been a means to cover up the reality

I dread the silence for it prods a cognizance that I’m alone despite the crowd.
I dread the silence fearing that I wake up from my self-created imaginary world
I dread the silence for fear that it made me question about my existence
I dread the silence fearing that I will hear the inner voice
clamoring and wanting to escape from this dragging circumstances

That still small voice which prefers peace
that still small voice wanting to get away from this kind of place.
that still small voice, crying from this senseless pace.
that still small voice, wanting a break from this pointless race.

Jane Austen

I've a Pain in my Head

'I've a pain in my head'
Said the suffering Beckford;
To her Doctor so dread.
'Oh! what shall I take for't?'

Said this Doctor so dread
Whose name it was Newnham.
'For this pain in your head
Ah! What can you do Ma'am?'

Said Miss Beckford, 'Suppose
If you think there's no risk,
I take a good Dose
Of calomel brisk.'--

'What a praise worthy Notion.'
Replied Mr. Newnham.
'You shall have such a potion
And so will I too Ma'am.'

Dread

dread is such a
nice word upon the
mouth of someone
whose life depends
on the mere signing
of a pen and upon
a stroke his life
vanishes away
upon a mere scratch
of a signature
dread is such a word
that i write only on paper
because saying it
makes you panicky
i dread to do this
but sooner a name
is written on paper
by you my Master

if you must today
please write my nickname
sort of final affection.

Down in the dark

Down in the dark, it’s all in my head,
The pain the sorrow, all of the dread,

I want it to leave, but it wants to stay,
I try and I try, but he won’t go away,
There by day, there at night,
Saying the things, that fills me with fright,

I’m down in the dark, it fills my head,
The pain the sorrow, all of the dread,

He’s always around, lurking inside,
Watching; waiting, my hands are tied,
In my head, always near,
In my thoughts, building the fear,

Down in the dark, filling my head,
The pain the sorrow, all of the dread,

The pain; it grows, bursting within,
The dark; he’s back, with his terror filled grin,
“I’ll help”; he says, talking to me,
“I know what to do, just come and see, ”

Down in the dark, it filled my head,
The pain the sorrow, all of the dread,

My thoughts are violent, with sorrow in my chest,
I just close my eyes, and hope for the best,
He tells me good job, I’ll find the light,
But my life is ending, with the chill of the night.,

Dead in the dark, lost in my head,
No more pain or sorrow, not even dread….,

Did I Deserve It?

You come in, sit on my bed,
Telling me you’re sorry,
Over and over again,
For another night that you dread.

My screaming eyes still stinging,
From all the betrayed tears I can’t cry.
You saying that it hurts you,
More then it hurts me to strike your fist against my skin.
Only if that was true,
But my soul speaks the truth,
Your lies speak none of.
Telling me it won’t happen again,
It happens over and over again,
I know this of truth.

My flesh may not be black and blue but,
My body is secretly broken and bruised,
My heart cut into yet another piece.
You can not see the scars on my skin,
For you leave no marks,
Unless its on my heart.

You are crying you say,
Out of guilt.
With one more push that knocks me down,
Then comes the size 8 shoe,
Because I don’t stay the right things.
At the time where I have just been,
Hurt so badly I cant stand up.
Yep this might mean another hospital trip,
I plead for you to stop.
Please no please I forgive you! ! !
I love you please stop! ! !

I lay there limp thinking,
Did I really deserve it this time, Mom? ? ?

S, A, D

A season with little light
Leaves a sense of dread
A foreboding thought persists
With little hope of change
The unidentified issues ponder
Upon so many thoughts
Leaving little else to reassure
The quick passing of the day
Affects the body and mind
Which yearn for just a little sun
To warm the heart and soul
A little light to shed upon the day
Something bright in this season
Dark mornings, grey skies and early nights
Seem to dispel those hopes
The disorder remains in place
Throughout the season
Leaving a sense of dread
