Be a child-parent-adult
To the child, it is a day.
To the parent, it is a night.
To the adult both are inclusive.
The child lives in fantasy.
The parent lives in fallacy.
It is the adult that lives,
Where he is put, in ecstasy.
The child admires things.
The parent criticizes them.
The adult realizes them.
The child appreciates.
The parent deprecates.
The adult rationalizes.
The poet is the child in man.
The priest is the parent in man.
The logician is the adult in man.
Live a child to be youthful.
Live a parent to be awesome.
Live an adult to be credible.

I am o.k. you are o.k.
‘I lost my pen’
‘Don’t worry, I shall get you one’
A child like question
And an expected parental reply.
I am o.k., you are o.k.
‘I lost my pen’
‘I know you will do only that’
Parent reply belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not o.k.
‘I lost my pen’
‘You can borrow from me’
A child-like question.
An adult like answer.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘Is the bus late?
‘Which bus comes in time?
An adult seeking an adult
But received a parent reply.
I am o.k. You are not.
‘Is the bus late? ’
‘Yes, heard only ten minutes’
Both responded as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes, let me hide first’
A child sought from a child
And received it.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘No, this is not the time’
The reply is parental
And belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not.
‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes. Then we should read’
A child and an adult reaction
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘You should not smoke’
‘Yes. I shall cut it’
A parental question.
An adult reply.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘You should not smoke’
‘First, you cut your chewing’
A parental question
Seeking a child answer
But was belied.
I am o.k. You are not.
‘She should be taught a lesson’
‘ Yes, otherwise she will worsen’
A parent seeking a parent and got.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
‘I love you.’
‘I can’t forget you.’
Both are adult,
Expecting and receiving
As adults. I and you are o.k.
‘I love you’
‘Shh.. Others may watch”
A child’s reply to a child
Both are o.k.
‘I love you’
‘Bitch! Go to hell; I’ll report’
A parental reply, instead.
I am o.k. You are not.
‘I love you.’
‘I think you misunderstood.’
Both behaved as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.
You be the way you are expected.
You are then o.k. to others.
When others fail to be the way
You expected, you reason for it.
Others will be o.k. to you.
Then where is the individuality?

An adult is still a child
A child imitates its mother with air.
An adult imitates models to seem fair.
A child imagines a child in a doll
And enjoys tending it with fantasy.
An adult imagines some ones in his
And experience bliss in fantasy.
A child fears and pretends ignorance.
An adult dreads and pretends innocence.
Though old, still a child, I amuse myself
Though wise, still a child, I fool myself.

Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. And that's not always a biological parent or family member. It may be a friend or neighbor. Often times it is a teacher.

Gender determination
‘Is this a man or a woman? ’
asked a child the other,
pointing to a nude picture.
‘How can I, no dress? ’
answered the other child.
‘Is this a male or a female? ’
asked an adult the other,
pointing to a clothed child.
‘How can I, it’s dressed.”
Answered the other adult.
Child decides by clothes.
Adult confirms without cloth

Restricted
when i was a kid
they say it is restricted
for adults only
when i became an adult
they say
i must become a child
with all these
unexpected twists and turns
of my life
when i have become neither
a child
or an adult
a man or a woman at an age
where i can not really do
what i want
i say, i am so restricted
and it does not really matter
i am too old to think
i am too old to live
i am they say too young to die
and then when i said
i doubted everything
they tell me, and i like it really
that i am a wise man
of course, i do not understand
but as i am telling you
i like
from then on, just being
restricted

Baby vs Adult
Baby is dumb
Adult has wisdom
Babies are small and crawl
Adults are tall and fall
Baby demands
Adult commands
Baby yearns to walk
Adult learns to work
Baby weeps
Adult sleeps
You carry a baby
You marry an adult
Baby chokes
Adult smokes
Baby stays at home to play
Adult brings home the pay
Baby cries
Adult sighs
Baby spikes milk
Adults like silk
And I saved this for the last
Baby at birth
Adult at death
Baby vs Adult becomes a thing of the past

Nothing New
There will always be war and rumors of war
History and actions are proof to that
What is happening now has happened before
People will always die, and fight and will combat,
Man and woman are meant to suffer and cry
That is the truth and it becomes so transparent
Tears are with them from their birth until they die
But they are meant to love, and then become a parent,
The happiest day in any parent's life
It would be the day that their child is born
A miraculous gift that is given to a man and his wife
And it is given without sadness, shame or scorn,
Sadly the saddest day in any parent's life
Is when they must say goodbye and bury a child
They must live with the sadness and that strife
As from the loss of their child they are beguiled,
An heartbreaking moment in any child's day
Is when they must say goodbye and bury a parent
They weeps their tears their clouds are now gray
Their youth is over and now to them it is apparent,
In the times of peace a son buries his dad
In times of war a father must bury his son
Sadly these deaths occur and it will make one mad
But as they say, there is nothing new under the sun.

The abduction of a child is a tragedy. No one can fully understand or appreciate what a parent goes through at such a time, unless they have faced a similar tragedy. Every parent responds differently. Each parent copes with this nightmare in the best way he or she knows how.

By the meaning of it
We do not live through things,
but by the meanings of it:
At home a parent
carries the image of God
over to a child,
who finds God’s character
displayed in the parent.
a Marriage binds much stronger
than staying together,
when it find the true meaning
of promises and the love that it claims.
a Child goes into the army
and comes back out of it
as a man,
who knows duty and discipline.
Still, if we give love,
its greater than honour
and to teach self-respect.

Waiting For My Child
I am waiting for my child to come
Home today from school
And I will be sad when the day comes
That my child will be one adult
Because my child won't live home anymore
And I will be left all alone
But for my child it will be the happiest time in his life

Social Studies- Jesus' Birth
Mary was blessed with a child,
The child whose kicking is so wild
but this child is not wicked nor evil
With this child our Future is grat,
and every child, and every adult
Shall one day be saved

If I Were To Listen To You
when i was a child
you want me to become an adult
so i may earn a living myself
and then you are relieved
of any responsibility
(or a burden shall i say?)
and then when i become a adult
you want me to become a child again
to cheer you up and help you remember
the happy times of innocence
those times when sins
and lapses are forgivable
to relieve you of your guilt
(or a scruple shall i say)
if i were to listen to you
what shall i become of myself?
i am glad we have become distant islands
and there shall be no bridge possible
no sail no mail no tail

Being a Mom
A woman conceives
Having wondrous expectations
For a child yet to be
Knowing only that it’ll
Be unique and little
Will the child she has inside
Have the characteristics
Of both mom and dad…
As her body changes physically
She wonders about the possibilities
When the day of birth approaches
Anticipation of happiness
Outshines any thoughts of pain
The time is now…many hours pass
Before the child is in her grasp
A miracle of creation
With lungs filled with dependency
Child, if the future
We could see…
Only fulfillment would there be
As a parent, there is a tendency
To foresee a path clear and free
With love and unquestionable hope
Guidance is give with spoonfuls of tact
Standing back to see how a child reacts
Fortunately successes are attained
Step by step, one day at a time
When achievements are measured
Save room for unexpected surprises
Beyond the scope of what one surmises
Watching as a child becomes an adult
Now approaching independence
Far beyond the months of pregnancy
The child leaves but does not part
From a mother’s loving heart

Married But Not A Parent
MARRIED BUT NOT A PARENT
We have a couple living in the upstairs
sound of music, through the windows always blare
their house is full of modern wares,
yet, they are as sad, as having been lost in a desert so bare
a decade of marriage with pills and pilgrimages
cursing remarks befall on them in barrage
for some unknown defects in their human hardware
harvesting a child is to them, the biggest nightmare
one plus one, how much they would spend
with their bank balances growing in leaps and bounds
the purchasing power they have and wield
is not just enough for them, to fish out a child
not every child is the best asset
nor every parent is proud of his product
they need not be in tears - for not becoming a parent
since the patents they produce are sure to bring them to lament

Smile.......
funny the day, that wait the child to live,
as the nipple complete the milk of the
a lip that touches thy mother arm
live for years in every beginning of a
mother lap, laughter echo in every corner
waiting of thy hug, feeling great a rendezvous
of tears of a hungry child in floored mess
grown to be adult and walk for a growth,
sing for the future and waited to come for
new beginning to live
listen before, as tomorrow is the direction of
life and today is the point of departure, always
see the fading day, all is just mute to touch and
walk the right path for you to be happy
remember the simple smile, the dear parent
says goodbye and always keep it up high, for
today is just a memory of smile, of what
tomorrow's everlasting memories of your smile
smile ….. though you’re heart is aching

Please, Teach Me
Teach me well the child did say
As to its parent they did speak
As I want to grow up to be the best I can,
So please to me, wont you teach.
I want to learn and I want to be taught
To be the best that I really can,
And when I get older and I am on my own
I will thank you, for creating who I am.
I don't want to lie and I don't want to cheat
And I want everyone to me proud of me
An honest and loyal person I wanna be known
And I want to be as smart as I can be.
I want to be truthful and I want to be trusted
To all my family and my friends
I want devotion to be my middle name
And I want to know nothing of evil and or sin.
You are the one that will affect my life
The child said to its parent as they spoke
Whatever I become, it will be because of you
Whether I swear, or drink, or even smoke.
And when I get older will I be like you
And will I ever have a family of my own
Will I be the roll model for my children then
Or will I leave them when they are all alone.
And when you get older and your hair is gray
The child said to its parent that it loved
Will I turn out the way I wish I didn't
And will you pray for help from GOD above.
The child said its prayer as it went to bed
And then closed its eyes as it went to sleep
Please be the model from which I will learn, they said
And please for me, wont you teach.

The greatest gift a parent can give a child is unconditional love. As a child wanders and strays, finding his bearings, he needs a sense of absolute love from a parent. There's nothing wrong with tough love, as long as the love is unconditional.
