Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. And that's not always a biological parent or family member. It may be a friend or neighbor. Often times it is a teacher.

Be a child-parent-adult

To the child, it is a day.
To the parent, it is a night.
To the adult both are inclusive.

The child lives in fantasy.
The parent lives in fallacy.
It is the adult that lives,
Where he is put, in ecstasy.

The child admires things.
The parent criticizes them.
The adult realizes them.

The child appreciates.
The parent deprecates.
The adult rationalizes.

The poet is the child in man.
The priest is the parent in man.
The logician is the adult in man.

Live a child to be youthful.
Live a parent to be awesome.
Live an adult to be credible.

I am o.k. you are o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘Don’t worry, I shall get you one’
A child like question
And an expected parental reply.
I am o.k., you are o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘I know you will do only that’
Parent reply belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘You can borrow from me’
A child-like question.
An adult like answer.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Is the bus late?
‘Which bus comes in time?
An adult seeking an adult
But received a parent reply.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘Is the bus late? ’
‘Yes, heard only ten minutes’
Both responded as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes, let me hide first’
A child sought from a child
And received it.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘No, this is not the time’
The reply is parental
And belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes. Then we should read’
A child and an adult reaction
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘You should not smoke’
‘Yes. I shall cut it’
A parental question.
An adult reply.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘You should not smoke’
‘First, you cut your chewing’
A parental question
Seeking a child answer
But was belied.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘She should be taught a lesson’
‘ Yes, otherwise she will worsen’
A parent seeking a parent and got.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘I love you.’
‘I can’t forget you.’
Both are adult,
Expecting and receiving
As adults. I and you are o.k.

‘I love you’
‘Shh.. Others may watch”
A child’s reply to a child
Both are o.k.

‘I love you’
‘Bitch! Go to hell; I’ll report’
A parental reply, instead.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘I love you.’
‘I think you misunderstood.’
Both behaved as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

You be the way you are expected.
You are then o.k. to others.
When others fail to be the way
You expected, you reason for it.
Others will be o.k. to you.
Then where is the individuality?

A teacher is the best artist of the child

A teacher is the best artist of the child
He is also the builder of a strong Nation,
If his art fails the statue, this child will be wild,
Then, what about the future of our Nation?
Negligent teacher's children become bad,
This is a mysterious hit to him by Nature,
A good teacher does his duty what he had,
His children will be fine by the grace of God,
Teacher is blessed by God if he teaches well,
He should think that every child is his own,
Tomorrow before God every teacher has to tell,
In society a good teacher is well known,
A careless teacher is cursed to go to hell,
A good teacher lives with a honored crown.

Children Reflect Those Ideals Projected

Children,
Reflect those ideals projected.
With a caring less,
Of how their wants and needs are met.

And a child caring less,
Of how their innocent desires are met...
Will do his or her best,
To express no regret...
In the showing just how much they are upset.
With a display of embarrassing tantrums,
A parent tries hard to minimize and suppress.

A 'child' grows up to expect,
That a loud voice heard in protest...
Will get as demanded,
What is wished with no exception.

A child never forgets,
Who promised what and when...
The day and hour,
That promise was mentioned.
Regardless of the dust that may collect in pockets.
Or the emptiness in each corner of a treasure chest.

A child,
Raised to be a 'child' teased by success...
Will never be satisfied by just a taste of it.
Since to sacrifice is not,
A conditional part of a child's mindset.

A CHILD,
No matter how old that child gets...
Will demand what is wanted,
Caring less who pays for it.

If I Were To Listen To You

when i was a child
you want me to become an adult
so i may earn a living myself
and then you are relieved
of any responsibility
(or a burden shall i say?)

and then when i become a adult
you want me to become a child again
to cheer you up and help you remember
the happy times of innocence
those times when sins
and lapses are forgivable
to relieve you of your guilt
(or a scruple shall i say)

if i were to listen to you
what shall i become of myself?

i am glad we have become distant islands
and there shall be no bridge possible
no sail no mail no tail

Teacher, Teacher

Teacher, teacher, teacher, teach me now
Teacher, teacher, teacher, guide me now
Teacher, teacher, teacher, show the way
You are my light
You are my guide.

Teacher, teacher, teacher, comfort me
Give your listening ears when I cry
Help me find the strength in what I can
You are my help
You are my guide.

Teacher, teacher, teacher, build me up
When I do wrong, show me what is right
Teacher, teacher, teacher, let us laugh
You are my friend
You are my guide.

I Have A Friend

I have a friend who cannot walk
I have a friend all he does is talk

I have a friend, Philippe is his name
I have a friend and we are just the same

I have a friend he’s seventeen years old
I have a friend who has a heart of gold

I have a friend who would catch me if I fall
It is only that he has no legs at all

I have a friend and when my friend was seven
A car ran over him and he almost went to heaven

I have a friend with a smile that I adore
I have a friend who lives in a house of four

I have a friend his family is his home
I have a friend who dreams of visiting Rome

I have a friend who is still finishing school
Yet some people tell him that for that he is a fool

I have a friend they say he is disabled
He has no legs and for that he is labeled

I have a friend who has a friend
They were made for each other; their love will never end

I have a friend who likes to name the stars
I have a friend and what he hates is cars

I have a friend who’s happier than you and me
I have a friend who’s shown me how happy I can be

I have a friend who’s had his bad times too
I have a friend who’s better than me and you

I have a friend so dear to me and kind
That another one like him I shall never find!

Please, Teach Me

Teach me well the child did say
As to its parent they did speak
As I want to grow up to be the best I can,
So please to me, wont you teach.
I want to learn and I want to be taught
To be the best that I really can,
And when I get older and I am on my own
I will thank you, for creating who I am.
I don't want to lie and I don't want to cheat
And I want everyone to me proud of me
An honest and loyal person I wanna be known
And I want to be as smart as I can be.
I want to be truthful and I want to be trusted
To all my family and my friends
I want devotion to be my middle name
And I want to know nothing of evil and or sin.
You are the one that will affect my life
The child said to its parent as they spoke
Whatever I become, it will be because of you
Whether I swear, or drink, or even smoke.
And when I get older will I be like you
And will I ever have a family of my own
Will I be the roll model for my children then
Or will I leave them when they are all alone.
And when you get older and your hair is gray
The child said to its parent that it loved
Will I turn out the way I wish I didn't
And will you pray for help from GOD above.
The child said its prayer as it went to bed
And then closed its eyes as it went to sleep
Please be the model from which I will learn, they said
And please for me, wont you teach.

My Friend the Teacher

Your thoughtful, you’re smart, you’re wise
You’re caring, you’re generous, you don’t despise
With words of wisdom like a preacher
For you’re my friend the teacher
~~~
You’re the light, you’re the prophecy, you’re a guiding star
You’re helpful, your supportive, you care from afar
Teaching others that help has no end
For you’re the teacher my friend
~~~
Now as you look into students eyes hoping to see a sign of yearning
Knowing that you teaching is a fun way of learning
For its larger then any mathematical equation
Clearer then any English sensation
~~~
More knowledgeable then any kind of world history
Even more decipherable then any scientific mystery
More lenient then any P.E. criteria
Even more tempting then any food from a cafeteria
~~~
Because with words of wisdom like a preacher
You’re my friend the teacher
Still teaching others that help has no end
You’re the teacher my friend

An adult is still a child

A child imitates its mother with air.
An adult imitates models to seem fair.
A child imagines a child in a doll
And enjoys tending it with fantasy.
An adult imagines some ones in his
And experience bliss in fantasy.
A child fears and pretends ignorance.
An adult dreads and pretends innocence.
Though old, still a child, I amuse myself
Though wise, still a child, I fool myself.

Nothing New

There will always be war and rumors of war
History and actions are proof to that
What is happening now has happened before
People will always die, and fight and will combat,
Man and woman are meant to suffer and cry
That is the truth and it becomes so transparent
Tears are with them from their birth until they die
But they are meant to love, and then become a parent,
The happiest day in any parent's life
It would be the day that their child is born
A miraculous gift that is given to a man and his wife
And it is given without sadness, shame or scorn,
Sadly the saddest day in any parent's life
Is when they must say goodbye and bury a child
They must live with the sadness and that strife
As from the loss of their child they are beguiled,
An heartbreaking moment in any child's day
Is when they must say goodbye and bury a parent
They weeps their tears their clouds are now gray
Their youth is over and now to them it is apparent,
In the times of peace a son buries his dad
In times of war a father must bury his son
Sadly these deaths occur and it will make one mad
But as they say, there is nothing new under the sun.

Adopted Friends

At times, we adopt friends
so they become part of our extended family.
We extend them the love
that lives within our hearts
to show them how we really care.
That they are always welcome
into our world night and day,
show them that in their troubled times
that we are there for them twenty-four seven
to help them through.
They are more than friends now
that they have become family,
their hurts are our hurts,
and their pains are our pains.
Therefore, when you adopt a friend
they become more than a friend.
They become a brother or sister to you.
You can talk over your troubles always with them
as they can talk over theirs with you.
After all, they have become family
and family ties lie deeper
than anyone can deny
and they will remain that way
until our dying day.

Gender determination

‘Is this a man or a woman? ’
asked a child the other,
pointing to a nude picture.
‘How can I, no dress? ’
answered the other child.

‘Is this a male or a female? ’
asked an adult the other,
pointing to a clothed child.
‘How can I, it’s dressed.”
Answered the other adult.

Child decides by clothes.
Adult confirms without cloth

Grief Is Less With The Years The Tenth Yahrtzeit Of The Holy Teacher

GRIEF IS LESS WITH THE YEARS
AT THE TENTH YAHRTZEIT OF THE HOLY TEACHER

Grief is less with the years-
A friend is not a parent-
Time makes life different
It is not what it was then.

My good friend my holy teacher
May G-d enjoy your joyful presence
As so I so much did when you were here.

Teacher Says, Teacher Goes

Teacher says,
teacher goes,
teacher smiles,
teacher knows,

what you have done,
was clearly a mistake,
maybe it is,
time for a break.

Teacher says,
teacher goes,
teacher smiles,
teacher knows,

that you have been naughty.
That you have been quite foughty.
That you are being rude,
don't call teacher a dude.

Teacher says,
teacher goes,
teacher smilies,
teacher know,

that you were making faces,
behind teachers back,
that you were throwing spitballs,
at the teacher's pet.

Teacher says,
teacher goes,
teacher smiles,
teacher knows.

So enough is said,
so now you know,
that whatever you do.....

Teacher says,
Teacher goes,
Teacher smilies,
Teacher knows

We As Soldiers

They was not born onto this world
to fight a war and lose their lives.
But they did fight a war, and did lose their lives
And it was done to protect you and I.

Now you may think of it as insignificant
Because it is not a family member or friend
But if they died defending your liberties
Then they are family and friends
And can not be with you till the end.

It was that soldier who was on land
Air, or the sea, defending your
rights so that you can be free.

Free to have the freedom of speech
And voice your opinion and beliefs.
And like all things, there is a price
That we must pay for that privilege.

It may be a lost arm, or leg, or an eye
But don’t worry they’ll get by.
They have the perseverance of their convictions
And will not let anything stand in their way
And if it means being in a foxhole, then
That is where they’ll stay.

The Circle

From parent and child
to friend to child to parent.
I've grown and reflecting back.
The circle is clear to me.

As a child looking up to them.
Then eye to eye
with the coming of age.
Still I looked up to them.

Many the role my parents played
guiding my course through life.
Their status with me
changing as older I grew.

Entering the world of adults
leaving adolescence behind.
Friends confidants
and equals they became.

When times my needs demanded
support direction advice.
Always they were there.
On my parents I could rely.

Taking my place as a parent.
Their wisdom a well I drew from.
Their strength
became a staff I leaned on.

One day to me
it was suddenly clear.
My path through life
followed the footprints they left.

When came the time
in their autumn years.
For safe haven they looked to me.
Their obligations I realized fulfilled.

It was for me now the time
to carry that load
they had gladly borne.
The circle had come full turn.
