An episode just ended
She, thirty five, and I, fifty five,
Were together and fell for each other.
Her modesty was her beauty;
Her reticence was her essence.
She was a receptor and I, a depositor,
As far as love was concerned.
She made me younger and I made her sexier.
The episode was enacted for three years.
She was the cause for my poetic act.
I have penned in hundreds poems
About my love for her and gave her them.
I left the place a decade ago with tears.
A maiden call came from her to my thrill.
It was not for renewal of love but on purpose.
Her son came and camped with me and went.
She has ignored me; I had no pain to ignore her.

24 Carat Heartache
The first time that I fell in love, she took my breath away,
As if there were not words enough, her beauty to relay...
So sweet of face with golden hair and smiles to melt the heart,
As if the answer to my prayer and God's most joyful art...
To think, God made her as she was, to tantalise and tease,
So that I'd feel a sense of loss the second love must cease...
She moved away, I loved alone, my love I saw no more
And when my heart became as stone, I asked what love was for...
A mere rehearsal, just for now, as if to pass the time?
Or just to lead you on somehow, temptation, sweet, sublime?
If so, I vowed no more, goodbye, good riddance to it all
And no more reason left to sigh, if I ignore love's call...
But love came calling just the same, no mercy could I find,
Each year new beauties to enflame, each decade left behind...

I Was Made To Feel Different In My Younger Years
I remember sitting in the corners of shadows.
Wishing to be invisible,
After making attempts to disappear.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
My voice was deep at the age of twelve.
And my knees knocked.
I was aware I walked pigeon toed.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
People were quick to critique me then.
When they would laugh at me.
I laughed right back at them to hide and cry alone.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
I grew wiser before I aged.
And years it would take for me to learn to forgive.
But I did with a doing successfully.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Perceptive, empathetic and sometimes distant.
Removed from anguish I knew others felt.
Yet today I might sit with periodic embitterness.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
I've learned to use my talents and gifts,
To lift me beyond any loneliness that visited.
And with slow and painful steps I grew to improve.

And when I self examine to reflect...
So happy I am to have held on to my patience,

My Visit
I shall visit where you were
when love burned as bright as a star.
And when I kneel at the alter of love
I'll remember from afar

I was left with only your words

Silent mourning became my plight

The land is flooded with tears
