With thoughts provoked, how time swiftly flies
Thoughts and feelings, they all come
Like undaunted memories
When you face them there will
Be lots of hugging and pleasantries
Exchanged, like long lost friends
Meeting in a cafe, some even
Shout with joy, tap some shoulders,
The usual gimmefives, the
Lighter and lighter conversations,
Like how you are doing now,
Where have you been all these
Years, I have seen Rose and Dave
In Chicago, while we were going
For a cruise, and so on and so
Forth, it was still morning, thoughts
Of friends, and long years, so well
Provoked, some coffees do get
Cold, not sipped at all, and you look at
Your watch, it is dark, and
We have done nothing but talk
And get so excited still at all these
Thoughts and feelings, & what we
All used to say, we all miss you
Yes, time swiftly passes us by.
time, time, swiftly flies, and
we still do not have the wings.

Separate Long Decades Have Passed
long decades have passed
polar ice caps keep melting
ghost years between all passed away
time lost in sightless mists years
but there was not one no rainbows
time left us alone poles polar apart
yet through all those lost mist years
filled with work time spectral dreaming
your name haunted mind each day
memories came ever unbidden
in thoughts intrusive odd timed
such thoughts were never far away
I hoped lost years to you were gentle kind
lost out of sight never out of memory mind
eternal youth memories face to ages blind
I see you ever in heart’s mind memory
memories that echo through eternity
in this love which endures in perpetuity
long decades have passed
polar ice caps are still melting
ghost years between all passed away

Friendship A Tranquilizer
Those days of glamour and innocence now replay,
Laughter tears with smile spread across many a day.
Glances exchanged, friends of days that was less forgot,
Some moments of time, engraved a sweetness knew not.
As paths drifted across oceans and the volumes of sky,
Memories darkened fading and unclear as time did fly.
Decades, years, months, did not its beauty ever forget.
Friendly thoughts shared with reservation that was set.
Wondering if it will ever come back to cherish, again.
Now alone a stand, heartaches uncertainty unending pain.
As special memories surface, with many a hidden bliss.
A friendship never was sought, now kind of feels the miss.
A heart embraces, feelings of happiness gently do swell.
A place with dignity and grace a tranquility to dwell

We Shall Always Be Friends
Do not worry.
You will lose me.
As your lover.
But we will always
be friends.
This is what you wanted.
But remember
friends drift away
often lose touch
one parting day.
For life is too busy.
New jobs and new friends.
Take us away.
Demand our loyalty.
Commitments of time.
Eventually we often find
a new lover we need,
to fill empty spaces in life;
to become our husband
or wife; to share our life.
To build a new future with
to commit all our time with.
But we can still be friends
with old lovers?
Spare them fragments
of our time,
every few weeks
or month or yearly,
or in our thoughts
and memories,
as time rolls on by.
The odd cup of coffee, tea,
or drinks, or social functions.
Conversations on telephones
a letter or card or two.
Especially at Christmas.
Time passes and we
remain good friends.
Even though eventually
we do not see each other.
Ever again as time
takes our meetings away.
But we can still
remain friends.
As old lovers sometimes do.
But it is never the same.
It is progressive loss not gain.
But we shall always
be old friends.
Even when we shall
never meet again.
We can be
just friends.
But friends drift
apart in the end.

Feeling Abandon and Lost Inside
The first thing that I should do is look in the mirror and say what is my name,
This is one reason why I feel so abandon and lost inside,
There is times that I cannot even remember who's my family or friends,
Yes, if you had this feeling lost inside then you would see what it feels like to be me,
As I think of this tears come rolling down my eyes,
Because I feel like my life is hidden away is a deep dark disguise.
Having these feelings or thoughts give me a roller coaster of emotions,
As it makes feel like a freak or a failure or like a creature feature.
Forgetting the memories of my life is hard, and it hurts,
I hope that if you are someone that reads this that you take in what I am trying to say,
Those memories are the ways in life that we will always remember when it is to laugh, cry or smile.
There probably will be a time in our life when those thoughts will be gone.
So please try to take in any and all the memories of your life,
Because as I said earlier it will hard to remember those precious moments,
It is hard, but for me to remember things I have to write my feelings and memories down into words.
For me to even remember life.
Thank you, Lord for giving me this chance to still live.

Lost and Alone
Lost without love
Lost without family
Lost without friends
Lost without anyone
Lost without memories
Lost without thoughts
Lost without caring
Lost without a heart
Lost without a soul
Lost without feelings
Lost without dreams
Lost without life
Lost without the world
Lost without earth
Lost in my mind
Alone with the devil
Alone to burn in hell
Alone to be remembered
Alone on an island
Alone to be myself
Alone to love myself
Alone to love no one
Alone on earth
Alone in life
Alone with no thoughts
Alone with no love
Alone with no one
Alone with no memories
Alone to think
Alone to know oneself
Alone to find me

Its Been A Long Long Time
Its been a long time...
Since I held you tight.
Its been a long time...
Everyday in this fight.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
Since I've had a kiss.
Its been a long time...
You're pretty blue eyes I miss.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
This Iraqi tour.
Its been a long time...
I miss you so and more.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
Hot days with freezing nights.
Its been a long time...
Sunburned face, mosquito bites.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
Had a real bad day.
Its been a long time...
Lost some soldiers today.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
I suffer everyday.
Its been a long time...
For me to be away.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
For me to be alone.
Its been a long time...
No talking on the telephone.
Its been a long...long...time.
Its been a long time...
Since you heard me say...
Baby, my sweet darling...
I'm leaving Iraq today!

Those of Actions and Less Words
Anyone can make comments,
About feelings meant.
Feelings claimed to have!
But kept in one's mind,
Where that time has been spent!
However...
Those of actions and less words,
Impress with images lasting.
And it is the consistency of their thoughts and deeds...
That keeps one in someone's mind,
As one that can be believed without doubt or question.
Too many people today express in public flair,
How deep their loyalty for another is...
And so profess what is kept,
But not truthfully there to be addressed.
With confessions made to others,
As if this passes a test.
While it is the things done they do...
That disproves a conviction spoken.
And not in their hearts to followed through.
Although dramatized displays are created,
To show how someone by another,
Has been made to become upset.
This is straight from a 101 Beginner's Acting Manual.
And those on the receiving end,
Are not tricked to be fooled by deceptions that begin.
Feelings they have are invested too!
And these feelings for them are protected to defend.
Not tossed about in meaningless conversations.
Conversations to impress but without a depth connected.
Anyone can make comments,
About feelings meant.
Feelings claimed to have!
But kept in one's mind,
Where that time has been spent!

Once Upon a Cold September
Once upon a cold September
lay ashes of last December
came stories of old friends
never to be lost
on that December
Morning came
thoughts rose
time flew on the coast
evening of September
came lies to remember
sad but true they say
never showed a face again
on that stormy winter
Once on a cold September
on a bleak December
with time to remember

Some Days
SOME DAYS I’M TOO TIRED TO BE INSPIRED
AND SOME DAYS I’M QUICK AS A WINK
WHEN I DON’T HAVE TO THINK.
THE THOUGHTS WILL FLOW LIKE WINE IN A GLASS
SHOWING THE PRESENT, FUTURE AND THE PAST.
IT IS NOT REALLY HARD TO DO
IF TO YOURSELF YOU BE TRUE.
LOOK AND LISTEN TO EVERY SIGHT AND SOUND
IT WILL PICK YOU UP AND PUT YOU DOWN.
TO ALL THE BEAUTIES THAT CAN BE FOUND.
PUTTING ALL YOUR THOUGHTS, FEELINGS
AND DREAMS ON PAPER
NOTHING CAN BE MUCH SAFER.
YOU TELL OF STORIES THAT THEY
NEVER HEARD OF, OR DARED TO DREAM
INTO A FEW LINES.
AND IN THEIR MINDS WILL LAST
FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
WHEN THOSE “ SOME DAYS “ COME TO YOU
AND YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
SIT AND WRITE JUST A FEW LINES
THEN YOU’LL SEE YOU HAVE THE TIME.
TIME TO ENJOY ALL THE BEAUTIES
THAT SURROUND YOUR LIFE
WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS, HUSBAND AND WIFE.

Myriad Thoughts
I sit here in myriad thoughts
dancing around my head
too fed up to put them to bed.
Thoughts of the past,
thoughts of the future too,
thoughts of things this and that
and thoughts of what to do.
Memories invade at times
of pastures long gone by
as the myriad thoughts
fill my mind with anger and with love
and times; I wish I could have lingered with
when my years were young.
Things pass in phases,
hearts entwine then fall apart,
seasons readily appear,
stay awhile and then depart.
Here I sit in a lonely waste
thinking thoughts of what might have been
if the crystal ball I look into had only seen.
Now the myriad thoughts appear
to haunt me in quiet times
and carry me to distant places
the world has left behind.
Those little specks of moments
that still linger from the past
that lay waiting to capture me
before the quiet time has passed.

The Daisy Picker
Sometimes I have feelings;
Sometimes I have thoughts.
Sometimes I have
Thoughts about feelings;
Sometimes I even have
Feelings about thoughts.
When these things happen,
Sometimes I write a poem;
But then again,
Other times
I don’t.

The Old Man....
there is this garden that you tend
you put the seeds and they all sprout in time
time waters it
the changes take place
soon the flowers bloom and
you watch all these
with patience
there is this light feeling that comes
like butterfly wings
white against the dusk
there is nothing new in that garden
you are sick and takes the rest
you sit by the window
the same window all these 50 years
time is you boring attendant
independent from your grasp
it can exist without you
you sit and watch the world passing by
like a flower slowly unfolding
and you never notice it
you go out
you have recovered from a disease
you
take a walk
visit some friends
come back in the afternoon
you watch the view from the window
again
this you do perhaps for another 50 years
of your life
setting aside fears of not having to
step upon 60
life is short for those who have no one to love
it is the same field same mountain
bald and brown
same clouds
pale blue and drifting
same fog
fading like a magical show
same window
that you close again
because it is dark
and cold inside
your old wooden bed
that you have
inherited from your
forefathers
as usual
you take your sleep
time passes you by
the room is so silent
as though
it is the home for
the dead

Maybe
For a long time
I have been an admirer
Of yours
For decades
Yet my feelings for you
Have not faded
So much has changed
Through the years
LPs to CDs
VHS to DVDs
Land phone lines to cell phones
Nothing has remain permanent
Except for my feelings for you
So real and so true
Even if these feelings
Grows into nothing
It won't change a thing
After all these years
Of having these feelings
Inside that won't subside
And yet these feelings still manage to survive
They won't go away
No matter how much
I try
Maybe it will always
Forever be unfinished business
Of something that has yet to begun
So I will continue to
Keep these feelings tuck away
Just in case! ! ! ! ! !

Timewise
I have a mind to sit a while
let life wash over me
Sip coffee that will bring a smile
A takeaway for tea?
Some time to watch the daylight end
And night to have its way
The thoughts to which I must attend
All swiftly blown away
For space to think and hear myself
Are seldom in the plan
This elevation into wealth
The curse of every man
So here and now as i embrace
Our world in different ways
The broadest smile upon my face
Is how I'd spend my days.

Early Works - Old Friend, New Times
Face?
I’ve seen it somewhere before
.
When?
In the distance long ago.
Who?
Someone who used to visit me.
Friend?
Almost positive a friend of a kind.
Speak.
“Hello stranger, how are you? ”
Surprise.
“Haven’t we met somewhere before? ”
Nod.
“Oh, yes, now let me see.”
Years.
“My how they have changed us both.”
Remember.
“All those good time that we had.”
Memories.
“Vaguely in the long dim past.”
Drink?
“Not tonight I’m afraid.”
Goodbye.
“Been nice to see you.”
Au revoir.
“Yes, we’ll have to meet again.”
10 June 1979
Author’s note.
This piece reveals the feelings of a meeting with an old friend whom I had not seen in eleven years.

Lost Friends
In youth I moved from place to place
And left my friends at each behind,
And when I think of each lost face,
My thoughts to distant parts retrace,
Where, if I went, I know I'd find,
Each face would now with age be lined.
And when I think of those lost friends,
To me they are all fixed in time,
My mind, for them does time suspend,
No ravages of time offend;
They still to me are in their prime;
That hill of age they've yet to climb.
And if sometimes these friends so few
Do think of me in parts far flung;
If they still see me as they knew
Me when we said that last adieu;
This memory to which they've clung,
In this at least, I'm ever young.

Rosebank
From the village of Rosebank the hills look so green
A beautiful country as fine as i've seen
A gem of the mountains on the higher ground
Is this quiet little village with hills all around.
In the Green Frog cafe i go back in time
A bard of the old school sat crafting his rhyme
His long hair and long beard seemed whiter than gray
And he sat in the cafe and wrote every day.
In the 'Green Frog' each morning for an hour or two
He sipped his coffee looking out on the view
He took in the beauty it came out in words
The green of the woods and the songs of the birds.
He sat in the cafe this maker of song
And sipped on his coffee and he thought hard and long
And he gazed on those mountains and song to him came
And he died old and poor though he lives on in fame.
And though the bard for long years has now lain with the dead
His verses survive and by many still read
And the mountains of Rosebank that gave him his rhyme
Are still green as ever unfaded by time.

Lost In Time
Confussed deep inside
so many feelings
so many thoughts
don't no why
i wish they would subside
i feel my heart beat faster
a cloud of despair
a young girl in pain
so many secrets
locked inside
her sole so black
for her there is no turning back
her life passes her by
to herself she crys
confused deep inside
a young girl lost in the dark
shes lost in time
stuck in the past
doesn't no how or why
she's so afraid
to let her feelings show
doesn't no how to let go
shes so alone cant find her way
lost in the print of time lost to the world
in her room alone she hides

Friends
Now you got to have friends
You know the fellings all so strong
You got to have friends
To make that day last long
I have me some friends but now there gone
Somethink came and took them away
And from the dusk until the dawn
Here is where I'm goin to stay
Hey well I'll stand right here at the end of the road
And I'll wate for the new friends to come
I don't care it I'm hungre or cold
I got to get me some
Talkin about friends
Miles and miles and miles of friends
Lot and lots and lots of friends
You got to have friends

You got to have friends
And some friends but there gone gone
Something came and took 'em away
And from the dusk til the dawn

And I'm standing at the end of a long, long road
And I'm wateing for my new friends to come

Miles and miles and miles of friends
Lots and lots and lots of friends

Time For Us Is Not A Factor
Our feelings for each other,
Are as strong today...
As they ever were since we first met.
And our eyes?
Seem to have laid there to gaze,
In a romantic bliss to stay fixed.
'How sweet.
Now...
Have either one of you,
Confessed your true feelings...
About your extramarital affair,
With your spouses? '
Oh no!
Not yet.
We are hoping they will not suspect,
The secret discreetness of our love.
With a wish that what we feel for one another,
Is not for us a test to regret.
To leave us feeling disappointment.
'And this has been going on for how long? '
Many years.
However...
Time for us is not a factor.
'I see.
Now...
Can you explain to me,
Your thoughts on deception? '
