We Are Into This

it is not just an ordinary
swim on
shallow waters where
our heels
are attacked and
we are not
a bit bothered about
any possible
consequences,

we are into this
form of art, where we expose
a face and at the same time
cover
our eyes and nose
and keep on saying
that we are
unafraid to be
finally our own making
a sculpture of ourselves
in words and
images,

we are into this
not as adept as a magician
removing a rabbit from
a black hat

until such time that
our audience who are children by
heart
finds this art
so cheap and no as amusing
as what we used to be
doing
what they have not ever seen
because
we keep them
sealed, tight lipped,
vacuum,
restrained, cool, civilized,
and unhealthy.

we are into this,
tell me, what is this really?

As I Look At Myself Carefully In The Mirror....

i see time
how convoluted it is
how deceiving like a magician
hiding time
inside the black box
and time
pretends to be a rabbit
or a bouquet of flowers
and excited as i am
to all these magic
i have forgotten
that i am a subject of
time and that
it knows
how to kill me slowly
without my knowing
and i look at time
closely
from my hair
to my belly
to the thickness of
my hands
and the losing of
my balance
what can i say then
about those
beers in my belly?
those furrows
on my forehead?
these silver hairs
these tight lipped
existence
words unsaid
a heart closing
as time shows itself
again
more real this time
like the black hooded
sickle-bearing
anonymity

First Level Of An Ordinary Conversation

on the shallow waters of laughter
we let go the words, we go with the flow of the first layer of our waters.
wooden boats, hands as rudders and a little emptiness covered
by the lace of sweet nothings, hi, hello, how are you, miss you,
as the feet stamp on something rocky, as the eyes bitter blue,
as our souls should know where to go, sham, spam,
violets are violets, and blue is blue, and red as red,
no implications, no deeper swimming, just a slight touch
here and there, some finishing statements, oh your nice,
you look thinner, losing weight is good, like your hair your nose
shallow, so shallow, there is no force here, no light, glimmer sans,
i look forward to seeing you again.

maybe next year, maybe never. you have become so ordinary.
and you sure, do not understand what i really mean. It is you.

Magician

He said
You will look right into my eyes
Repeat every word that I say
You want some magic in your life
My love is the only way
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
His body moves behind my eyes
Obsession grows
Its a private show
Magic man with a sleight of hand
Disappearing right into my soul
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaa whoaa ohh
Hes here again
That magic man
My eyes wont turn away
Just like magnets pull me in
I cant forget his face
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaa whoaa ohh
Whoaa whoaa ohh
I walk right up and said
Take me take me take me
No pride no shame, enchanted
Call it a dream but dont wake me
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
No matter how fast he goes
Feels like slow motion
Hypnotize me frame by frame
Caught in my own dream paradise frozen
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaaa ohhh

The Question Of The New

A new story, a new hero, a new case and study. Another course another action. Painting fate with words that can so easily taint. Praying and forever hoping for the greatness of the success of love. Sometimes it strikes when your at strongest only to tear you down. Sometimes it strikes you when your at your weakest to build you back up. strange is the path it takes. No set way, every time is different. And every time you expose yourself in someway. Open is the mind and heart, blinded by a fool whim. In these waters so deep can you swim?

I am a sculpture

I am sculptor and I sculpt all day
To make a man, a corresponding man, resembling those who were first
The zenith brought us light, brought us food
The zenith brought us heartache a broken charm not soothed

I am a sculptor and I sculpt all day
Carving, sculpting bits of common
It looks fashionable, it’s like ordinary
It looks like a conventional man, he will be popular

Ten English men
Ten English women
Everybody is cool
Everybody is true
Wearing the same clothes
As the sculpture wears to

Battle the outsiders their animals
Raging pit bulls with chains
Look they have a different face
Let’s us murder them a great golden genocide race

The battle passed
And so did the time
But one thing changes and changes and changes and changes and changes and changes
The sculpture really enjoyed their style
He had new clothes
He had acceptance

Battle the outsiders their animals
Unwanted souls shaken from their cage
Look they have different accents
Let’s us murder them drag their tongues from their foolish sayings

The battle passed
And so did the time
But one thing changes and changes and changes and changes and changes and changes
The sculpture really liked that accent
He had new sayings
He had acceptance

Battle the outsiders their animals
Loaded guns with reasons to shoot
Look they have different smells
Let’s us murder their nose’s, piecing through, let us destroy these things they do

The battle passed
And so did the time
But one thing changes and changes and changes and changes and changes and changes
The sculpture really liked those smells
He had new scents
He had acceptance

The English gang turned around and witnessed a changing slant
The sculpture had changed but how
That’s cool, that’s it
We need to be like the sculpture is

I am sculptor and sculpt all day
To sculpt a man
An intelligent man
Living life and giving all he can

We can’t undo reality
Were pressed hard down on fast forward
There was never a pure bred
But there still isn’t a pure acceptance head

Shallow Days...

well, there are
shallow days, nothing deep

something for my
feet,

above me the sun
one and only one sun

just the sun and my head
and the shallow waters
on my toes

and the noon time walk
when everyone is as usual

having lunch, and
my toes get wet and i

am making meanings
on the shallow waters

the body in the middle of
this air, the hands are like

eagles flying. the fingers are
turning into feathers

Money Changes Hands

Now the deal is done
I cover my eyes
Step into the sun
Now I
Think I've finally learned
Trust was the one last thing
I was living on
My life fell apart
When that trust was gone
'Cos everybody has to change in time
Faith can change your heart
And words can change your mind
Nothing changes faster than a man
When money changes hands
In my mind I see
The eyes of a fool
looking at me
Now I
Think I've finally learned
One day the world starts making
Perfect sense
We all say goodbye to our innosence
'Cos everybody has to change in time
Faith can change your heart
And words can change your mind
Nothing changes faster than a man
When money changes hands
It's a perfect day
In this imperfect world
'Cos we all know the angel who fell
And we all want somebody
To save our soul
But you can't save yourself
From yourself
When money changes hands
(chant)
When money changes hands
Everybody has to change in time
Faith can change your heart
And words can change your mind
Nothing changes faster than a man
When money changes hands
(face the facts, face the facts)
When money changes hands
(can't turn back, can't turn back)
When money changes ....

The Cool Living Waters

the cool living waters of spring
plunge in like a hot rod wanting pacification
flames of fire
cinders of desire
let us be calm and swim in the cool living waters
of divinity

nude we realize there is shame and we stand
and take the clothes of morality
then we rest under the cool shades of green trees
beside the brook
the winds from the mountains refresh what dimples we have
and we reflect upon the words of God

time moves and stays a while and this evil of boredom comes
idle moments craving for more
and then we stand and play under the sun
we run, we play, we sweat and those that watch us
begin to think
that we are sinners on the loose

cool living waters i ask
bathe and wash all their dirty minds

I Love You

I must be crazy now
Maybe I dream too much
But when I think of you
I long to feel your touch

To whisper in your ear
Words that are old as time
Words only you would hear
If only you were mine

I wish I could go back to the very first day I saw you
Should've made my move when you looked in my eyes
'Cause by now I know that you'd feel the way that I do
And you'd whisper these words as you'd lie here by my side

I love you
Please say you love me too
These three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together
'Til the end of time

So today I finally find the courage deep inside
Just to walk right up to your door
But my body can't move when I finally get to it
Like a thousand times before
Then without a word you handed me this letter
Read I hope this finds the way into your heart

Poppycock

Because he is black,
He believes he is held back.
He is!
And so are they!
Because she is black...
And attractive.
She believes she was hired for that!
She was!
For display.
Because I am black,
And proud of that fact!
I can not understand...
Why many blacks can not accept,
Who and what they are...
Will always be attacked!
There is a sickness attached,
With insecurities no one can match.
People are conditioned,
To believe in superstitions...
With inflicted intuitions to expose an ignorance.
And yet superiority can not be proven,
By the advent of incompetence.
Anyone can look around,
And observe standards and moral attitudes placed...
Crumbling to the ground!
Live and in living color.
Very few of these images,
Are broadcasted in black and white!
And what is done undercover?
Produces all shades of everything.
Making what one's values...
With traditions they uphold,
Little sense left to fathom to maintain, grasp or follow!
It's all poppycock!

'There you go!
Bragging about your sexual prowess,
Again! '

Deja Vu

i meet a face today
and it cannot look at me
straight in the eye
and i look at it with scrutiny
asking why

it is dark and i have seen that very same face again
and again
waiting for me
it is the very same face of darkness
that used to stare at me
from the very first day that i cried
now for pity
it refuses to make a glance

time which has been in an ambush position
lurking in the darkest corner of my life
murmurs some words to itself
sounding like a train
stopping

tomorrow, it says for the last time
is the perfect time to go

one bright morning when the flowers start to bloom
the least you expect
and you do not have the chance of saying...i have always loved you
you shall be blown away like some other leaf
so ordinary so cheap

Ordinary Days

Just a day, just an ordinary day
Just trying to get by
Just a boy, just an ordinary boy
But he was looking to the sky
And as he asked if I would come along
I started to realize
That every day he finds just what he's looking for
And like a shooting star he shines
And he said
Take my hand
Live while you can
If we walk now we will
Divide and conquer this land
As he spoke, he spoke ordinary words
Though they did not feel no
For I felt what I had not felt before
And you'd swear those words could heal
And as I looked up into those eyes
His vision borrows mine
And I know he's no stranger for I feel
I've held him for all of time
And he said
Take my hand
Live while you can, no
And if we walk now we will
Divide and conquer this land
Divide and conquer this land
Divide and conquer this land
Please come with me
See what I see
Touch the stars for time will not flee
Time will not flee
And you must be
Just a dream, just an ordinary dream
As I wake in bed
And the boy, that ordinary boy
was it all in my head?
Didn't he ask if I would come along?
It all seemed so real
But as I looked to the door I saw that boy
Standing there with a deal
And he said
Take my hand
Live while you can, no
And if we walk now we will
Divide and conquer this land
Divide and conquer this land
Divide and conquer this land
Just a day, just an ordinary day
Just trying to get by
Just a boy, just an ordinary boy
But he was looking to the sky

We Are Together

The girls known trouble
The winds to blame
It blew her to anytown usa
Thats my middle name
And where we go
Remains nameless
A motion picture
Alive and framelss
And we are together
Finally
And the dog caught up with
The rabbit is laughing hysterically
And we are together
You and me
Yeah eah ah
Yeah
We are together
Together
Shes got that sadness
She twinkles like a witch
And you conjure a love spell
Im gonna give a five-year itch
Low to the ground
High in the holler
(we are together)
In any old february
(together)
Hot under the collar
(collar)
And we are together
Finally
And the dog caught up with
The rabbit is laughing hysterically
And we are together
You and me
Yeah eah ah
Yeah
The setting sun at sadness beach
Just in view and out of reach
Resign myself to solitude
When love is hard to get and rude
And though I said I did not care
(oh oh oh oh)
It was way before wed gotten there
Winded by the fruitless chase
(oh oh oh oh)
Until I saw you face to face
(face to face)
Together
Finally
And the dog caught up with
The rabbit is laughing hysterically
And we are together
You and me
(.... the whole world)
We are together
Finally
(finally, finally)
And the dog caught up with
The rabbit is laughing hysterically
And we are together
You and me
Yeah eah ah
Yeah eah ah
Yeah

Water Has Its Followers

Water has its followers
but the wind is free of an audience.
It doesn't encourage cults of wild irises and daylilies
along the flowing of its banks.
It sows the orchards with the pollen of stars
it kicks up like dust at its heels.
But my voice isn't the larnyx
of windmills and waterwheels
and when I speak
I'm always one among the crowd
that's listening at the same time
to a conversation with themselves
that took the words right out of my mouth.

My voice is a seance.
The dead use it like a bus stop.
The swallows and the pigeons
drink from it as if it were a public fountain
efflorescing like an Easter lily in Florence.
It's a guitar. But I am not
the medium, the message, or the master.
Sometimes my voice comes in the mail
like a self-addressed suicide note
I wanted to take a cheap form
of copyright out on. Be dead
by the time it got here
like the light of a star that's gone on ahead
so I won't need to open it to the public.

No echo. I know it's a black hole
with nothing to say to anyone
who isn't as singularly empty as it is
cowboying aeons of dark matter into galaxies
that won't stray from the herd like starfish.
Still life with clown, sometimes
it finds me meditating among the pears
or half-lotus in the nunneries of the waterlilies
praying for something important to come down
like Jesus or a ufo and take me away
just take me away for good from this alien place.

When it talks as if it's been insulted
I'm the one who loses face when it decides
it would be more honourable for me to die
facing in the direction of my chi,
gutting myself on a compass needle
that's been in the family ancestrally,
than waste my death as I have my life on poetry.
And when it's in a less ceremonious mood
it holds a broken beer bottle up to my throat
and threatens to cut my heart out
like a bird stuck in a chimney
putting wings on its jugular like a one-stringed harp.

A Little Request To The Magician Who Pleased Me For A While

dear magician
i thank you for your tricks
indeed your hands
are skilled and my eyes
are failing me
i am amazed by the rabbit
popping out from your
black hat
the roses blooming
from your palms
the staff that turned
to rope
the newspaper cutting
becoming peso bills
but with due respect
may i ask you to perform
the last magic for the day
and hope that this may
not be a form of request
that may cause you
sorrow
for parting is such
between us

please make yourself
disappear.

Choices

Like a burning house,
I see it falling apart,
Right in front of my own eyes,
Black and gray ashes cover everything in it's path,
Dark stormy clouds fill the room,
Sparkly ice crystals form above,
Soaking the ground,
Making everything turn to evil,
They sit and a wait,
For whom will follow,
Aware of the consequences that each step will take,
Evil thoughts,
Evil words,
Evil looks,
After all the mist and fights,
Stands a beautiful yellow flower,
Alone and scared,
Not knowing how special she really is,
But willing to stay true to her self

The Trip

Like an unripe melon
Like a conquer Magellan
Like a handy capped Helen Keller
There is a moonster in the cellar
He has been there since last November
I was once a member-
Of his palace
Until I was hit in the head with a mallet

Creeping along the halls
I have spotted the moonster in conversation with the white rabbit
Me thinks that white rabbit has a nasty habit-
Of being late
Last time they nearly locked the gate
Is his clock too slow?
Or is telling time his foe?
At least the moonster and purple tiger know

Acid is a trip that is not a trick for kids
But the rabbits white hair show great age
Maybe his mind is like that of a mage
I saw him once pull himself out of his own hat
Very impress for a magician with a assistant gnat
He buzzes around the rabbit’s head, a dark shade of blue
The rabbit does not reek, I have seen him use his wife’s shampoo

If I may take the time
I must say for a rabbit his wife is a dime
I even saw her and purple tiger in the shower at the same time
Of course the white rabbit was too late to catch them of this crime
Just then I told the purple tiger not to eat the white rabbit or the Chinese Girl
“She is your world! ”
You just don’t know it and she will not show it
So he devoured the loaf of bread instead

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Siege Of Kazan. (Tartar Song, From The Prose Version Of Chodzko)

Black are the moors before Kazan,
And their stagnant waters smell of blood:
I said in my heart, with horse and man,
I will swim across this shallow flood.

Under the feet of Argamack,
Like new moons were the shoes he bare,
Silken trappings hung on his back,
In a talisman on his neck, a prayer.

My warriors, thought I, are following me;
But when I looked behind, alas!
Not one of all the band could I see,
All had sunk in the black morass!

Where are our shallow fords? and where
The power of Kazan with its fourfold gates?
From the prison windows our maidens fair
Talk of us still through the iron grates.

We cannot hear them; for horse and man
Lie buried deep in the dark abyss!
Ah! the black day hath come down on Kazan!
Ah! was ever a grief like this?

White Skin Black Heart

Yeah, whatcha gonna do now, now that you started?
Whatcha gonna do now, now that its done?
The words got out there, they float around and are coming right back down.
You gonna leave us lying here
Dealing with the consequences of a bad sound
Of a bad sound.
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
Whatcha gonna do now, that its spoken?
These words of a habit, have not faded away.
.................... it clear, conscious gets opened like a wound.
If you cant concieve a better line and better times,
Then let silence bury you, in the end.
When you feel it, when you feel it
Youre condemned.
You see, youve lost your strangle on the freedom road! you
Think ........................of something a long time ago! you
[spewed it out you were so] insecure! it was like ............. on
The toilet floor! youre a [nine seat] drunk, ............... and
You say you want something, .......... you heard the rednecks
Roaring for blood and then they wanted more! life was so small, you
Couldnt get enough. you made a start.
White skin black heart
Dripping,
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
Drag your eyes from [aurora] black heart!
White skin black heart
Drag your leg, get outta here [my sight]!
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
You didnt have to start
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
