Wasted Emotions
silence has a certain depth
i've been there and there was really no
complete measure of
the phantom's haven
noise comes as a traffic jam of
feelings
the soul of the night howls
and the limping grasses over the fields
of memories scatter
like a crowd bombed
into pieces of scars
there are no ears
the wisdom loses itself in the hollowness of
wasted emotions

In complete delight
Walt came to know,
The spot upon which he stood
United with his soul.
A poet beyond time
A master of thoughtful word,
With courage enough to decipher lifes riddle
In all he saw and heard.
Reading his poetic words
I can't help to wonder how old must I become,
To reach that fateful state
When I and the Eternities are fully one.
He was helped by faith and friend alike
Immense were these preparations,
Yet greater still were the depth and beauty
Of his own worldly seperations.
He taught us that nothing here is the complete whole
For all now that we find,
Are merely small and temporary pieces
Of a faultering and fading time.
He said walk on the earth's soft grass
Listen to the song of your own being,
Attempt to aquire the wisdom of understanding
In all you are hearing and seeing.
And thus I try to do
Hoping when on the grasses other side I lay,
There, due to seeking here, shall I find
An even brighter day.
From this all and him
May I ever learn,
Wherein truly lies
My own ultimate concern.
So thank you Mr. Whitman
For the wonder in words you have said,
May they plant hope in my heart
And produce wisdom in my head.
Giving me cause to go about
My daily life, play and chore,
Ever yearning to find and to share
More upon more.

Phantom Of The Night
Who are you, Phantom of the night?
Creeping into my soul, just out of sight,
Of pain and light, and waking to heavy hold of life,
So clean and bright, a love so right,
Divine, I feel complete within the circle of your arms,
Away from worldly charms,
Those shallow empty feelings doing harm,
I feel only that love which is real, unconditional,
And the place I want to be forever,
I wish to leave you never,
It is not to be however, for I awake,
And you are whisked out of sight,
Beyond daylight but not of mind,
Where are you love? Be here with me,
On earth, and in eternity,
Who are you Phantom of the night?

The Challenge Of The Day
on a rush you step outside the room
without a window
thick drapes
sealing you away from the noise of the world
solitude and silence
your treasures
as soon as you open the door
the heavy rains and traffic greet you
with a challenge
'this is the real world, come out! '
there is no place to hide
there are always places to go
and faces to deal with
amidst the crowd find the solitude and the silence
from within your soul
your heart must know and your mind must adopt
lest you shall be one of those carried by the flood of meaningless existence
out there
cold and dead

Noise
Dads stuck in the factory, machines are banging all around.
Mommas in the kitchen, she got the radio on all the time.
My little sisters screaming, and stamping on the ground.
And the radio keeps pumping out the same old boring sound.
All I hear is noise.
Cant get away from the noise.
Can you hear me above the noise?
Can you, can you, can you, can you, can you, can you hear me?
Can you hear the noise? (noise)
Cant get away from the noise. (noise)
Can you hear me above the noise? (noise)
Can you, can you, can you, can you, can you, can you hear me?
Banging in my ears, in every direction.
Listen to the roar, hear that city[? ], poundin, poundin.
There oughta be a law, hey buddy, turn that radio down.
Sometimes I get used to it and I forget that its around.
But all I hear is noise. (noise)
Cant get away from noise. (noise)
Can you hear me above the noise? (noise)
All of this confusion is ruining my day.
Let the noise be like the sunset, and slowly fade away.
Fading, fade.
Girl, I want to build a better world for me and you.
I wanna pull out all the plugs before I finally blow my fuse.
Wish all the confusion would slowly fade away.
Id tell you that I love you, but you dont hear what I way.
All you hear is noise. (noise)
Cant get away from noise. (noise)
Can you hear me above the noise? (noise)
Can you, can you, can you, can you, can you, can you hear me?
Noise in the street, theyre digging up the pavement.
Noise in the air, those traffic jams are everywhere.
Noise on noise, to cover up the noise.
The pressures building up because theres no way to avoid,
All the noise. (noise)
Cant get away from noise. (noise)
Can you hear me above the noise? (noise)
All of this confusion is ruining my day.
Let the noise be like the sunset, and slowly fade away.
Fading, fading.

on that night i slipped on the snow
and fell upon
a certain coldness
with the depth
of a thousand silences
and then
i experienced the pain
so much pain
that i heard a certain
howling
of my soul
nobody hears
perhaps only the ears
with the wisdom
of nothingness

The Silence Inside
The Silence Inside
It's amazing how easily silence can disperse laughter. As joyful smiles to outrageous videos play deep into the night, the loudest silence nobody ever hears coming let's everyone feel it's presence.
For once, in too long, there is a connection between heartbeats, not through laughter, nor music, but in distorted silence. Distorted silence that followed a telephone ring and a playful joke. The one with the last laugh is the first to lose his voice.
Smiles fade and sweaty palmed statues appear where there once stood living beings. Then, cold, like a shockwave that deadens the cells, and makes light work of the ears as the brain shuts off connection to what seems to be a miscommunication, or a bad translation between mediums. And without those
ears; silence. Doesn't even matter because even with those ears, there's still silence, as your entire world stops spinning for just a moment. one moment, that seems like years.
Then one speaks, in hopes for a false alarm perhaps? But the reply in silence is the loudest alarm you'll never hear. Then you're brain goes dead with nothing but replayed memories; what were you doing? How long ago was that? I can't believe I said that! You know, I never did........ And silence. Then the clock starts ticking, and the crowd disperses, much like laughter, only leaving, in it's wake, an earth still spinning in silence.

A Philosophy
it is not how tall the buildings have grown
the presence of three elevators
that is not what progress is all about
you are telling me about how ateneo
has become an ivory tower rising above
the silence of Mt. Apo
so unlike our times
when rooms are crowded when noise
grow like grasses on the wild fields
uninhabited
let me ask you what happened to the playgrounds
of the children
and the chapel where Fr. Dot says mass all day
is the pine tree still there
and the pond beside
where the gold fish are swimming?
let me sense the essence of our lives
not getting much not accumulating power
not really going back to dusty chairs
but just being here
without acquiring
and yet still feeling so whole and complete
in that peace and quiet inside our hearts
under that tree that they have cut
twenty years ago

For Awhile
Forget the signs, read my emotions
earth crumbles, joy is scars
fear overrules your body
a complete fool made of yourself
tampering the arcane of wisdom
later you`ll see who`s wrong
they or you
your lack of appreciation
is not helping you at all
what they've done for you?
keep looking around
for them you are just a puppet
hide your identity
for awhile
it`s not time yet...

I haven't seen Clones, which has been during this period when I haven't seen much of anything, but I did see Phantom Menace, and see my feelings about it - see, first of all, I think that when you make a lot of movies, your attitude about the movies changes.

Phantoms
It is the night, it is the night
When they come - those
Phantom thoughts that
plague my quiet,
They crowd around my bed
and mock me, these phantom
thoughts, they stop me sleeping
I cannot rest, I cannot rest.
I long for the morning when
the light will chase those
phantoms away, but all too soon
comes the night, it is the night,
It is the night when they come,
the night...

While Silence Is Her Refuge
He crushed her being,
spat on her education,
raked her self-confidence
burned her plans
charted in the kitchen
where her work was never done.
Violence upon violence
visited her scar-ridden body
The pain so severe
she could not even scream.
Silence was her refuge.
Her wounds ran much deeper
than sisters could imagine
But she swam alone in the
sea of her nightmares and anguish
fears covered, cries stifled
Silence was her refuge.
The crowd had a million ears
but not one for the moans
of a sister’s tortured soul
It taunted her for her questions
crucified her for her speech
Word of pain was infamy
The crowd rubbed salt on the
raw, bleeding wound
Since then, silence became her refuge
A daughter now does the work
that is never done
Her spirit protests not
numbed by her mother’s death
and her own, for like her mother
she died a hundred deaths
and will die a hundred more
because silence is her refuge.
The crowd does not know
that silence betrays
The crowd itself has run
a million times
to silence for refuge
It still does.
When will the crowd realize
that silence is a foe?
It harbors violence
and squeezes the blood
that waters and keeps alive
the tree of death
that has eternal life
while silence is woman’s refuge.

The Pentagon Was Bombed
the pentagon was bombed,
cruise missile, US made!
there was no wreckage from a plane!
the public has been played!
the pentagon was bombed,
it's so damn plain to see…
covert wet work, CIA,
next target, … you and me
the pentagon was bombed
the evidence is real
it proves that Nazis are in charge
how does that make you feel?
the pentagon was bombed
trade center was bombed too
high level ploy, to steal some oil
ain't it something we can do?
how many citizens must die
before the truth is told?
another holocaust is here….
this shit is getting old
the pentagon was bombed

How much I love you
Only God knows how deep
my feelings for you go
and sometimes it’s difficult
to tell you.
How do you say
that’s how much
I care for you,
if there’s nothing
to measure it against.
Ridiculous it may sound,
but at times
words fail me.
.
It’s you, it’s you that I cherish
are words from somebody else
and for me it’s only singularly you
and no other
that I truly want to love much more.
How can you know
exactly what part of you,
your darling loves
and what causes
somebody to adore you?
Or is it something deeper
and much more
that binds people together
and cause that the I and me and you
together becomes us?
Sometimes you ask me to say
how much I love you
and I wonder against what,
must I measure it for you.
Can anybody somewhere gather
all the water of the sea
and give size and depth to it.
Who can catch the wind
and hang words on it,
or really determine
the extent of the sun
and moon and stars
Where must I find words
to say what the extent is,
of that which lies between us.
All that I know
Is that depth and size
of my feelings for you,
are totally unfantomable.

Carry Out Feelings
Nazareth
Im not just something you can pick up or put down
Entertainment value, like some circus clown
Dont give green stamps
With my emotions
Donthave a cut price soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Dont have the kind of heart
You reap and you take away
Keep in your cold store to use at some future date
Dont give a refund on my emotions
No discounting on my soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or, take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
And take away love
Im not just someone you can pick up and throw away
Someone to join you in arecycled love affair
Dont give green stamps with my emotions
Donthave a cut price soul
Dont do,
Carry out feelings
Or take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love
Carry out feelings
You take away love

A Sigh into the Present Air...
things would have been better
if left untouched
like some women opting to
become virgins
not having seen any man
nor thought
of masculine symbols
like nature
the forest would have been better
if its trees are left
uncut
the weeds tall like grown up natives
the grasses spreading
without the
artificiality of
the manicure
of the mower
like a river flooding the land
overfilling banks
words would have been better
if not uttered
like raw emotions like
sushi
that you savor with your tongue
how delicious to see
all these things
and feelings
unadulterated by explanations
or justifications
of reason that does not want to be overpowered
by the innocence of ignorance
no apple on the esophagus
none about analysis
just plain description of what is there
nothing about
additions
or conceptualizations
i would have wanted
my love to be like this
but look at it now
this heart folded like an origami
deceiving you with a stork
feelings cut into pieces of
graffiti of pent up emotions
what they ought to be
what they must or
should have been
dado joints fitting into
rules
or universal concepts
lacking now
the originality of
truth...

Learning To Love The Noise And All That Stuff...
at first i hate the noise
of motorcycles passing by the house
the screeching sound of the engine
is bombarding my eardrums
to pieces,
somehow, it is the adaptability gene in me
that survives
whatever the situation is
one must easily learn to accept
lest you
perish from the face of this earth
choking yourself with
disappointments
somewhere, i dream
not of silence but of noise
noise has a role too to play
in the deletion of
whatever noisy memory we have
that keeps
wrecking our
impulsive hearts
and then i learn to love noise and everything
that comes my way
sort of
meet noise with noise instead of silence sort of stuff
learning to be what i am in whatever place i may find myself
for in truth
i can do nothing about it
and so i let it be
but nothing nobody shall never destroy me
instead i must embrace them all
and to defeat all their attempts to put an end
to my struggles
(to be free or whatever...)
i sort of
embrace every strange moment
with all the love
that i can
possible give

Noise
Sometimes we crave silence
but everywhere there is noise.
The intrusive noise of a blaring radio
or children screaming at one another
at the top of their lungs.
All you want is silence
and all you get is
noise, noise and more noise.

The most meningfull words I speak I say in silence
My dearest memories I know I remember in silence
The strongest emotions I have I show in silence
In silence worlds best conversations are held
