The Way We Were

sipping one coffee
licking same ice cream on the cone
spraying same perfume
drinking one coca-cola
eating same slice of pizza
bathing together
sleeping in one bed cover
one fried egg sunny side up
seeing through
one empty hole of dunkin' doughnut
laughing on grin jokes
holding hands while walking
on the boulevard
admiring the sunset
sitting on the bench
under the moon
your head resting on my shoulder
kisses for the night
we made love....

how can we ever forget?
the way we were

Beach Chairs

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching the setting sun
holding hands and reminiscing
how it all begun

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching the ships out on the sea
holding hands and smiling
together we're meant to be

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching people walking past
holding hands and knowing
that our love will always last

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching the waves along the shore
holding hands we realize
our love is stronger than before

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching the changing tide
holding hands with happiness
to be by each others side

Sitting on the beach chairs
watching the sunrise
holding hands with tears of joy
there are no more good-byes

The Hole In The Doughnut

i am full
eating is useless
my stomach
has no purpose
i have this doughnut
and i raise
it in space
and i look through
its hole

i want to see
what is the reason
for emptiness

the hole has more
content
than the doughnut
itself

i put my finger
inside it
and somehow
i begin to feel
confident

inside the hole
i know
i am not alone anymore.

inside the hole
again i become whole.

Coca-Cola

This American life,
This African life,
This Australian life,
And this style of our lives all over the world!
But the bottles of the Coca-Cola will remind us of its roots.

In the name of Coca-Cola,
The number one soft drink in the world!
But the seven unknown secret-ingredients are with the muse of life,
And the source of the Company started from Atlanta.

In the name of Coca-Cola,
It is now produced in over 200 countries! !
But what started as a medicament (sold in the drug stores) ,
Is now the people's number one choice!
And the seven unknown secret-ingredients had made Coca-Cola what it is today;
But John Pemberton founded it.

A Bottle Of Coca-Cola

one for you and one for me,
Fidel Castrol is drinking Coca-Cola! !
And like bread and meat in the land of war!
But a lonely young woman is waiting for you.

Appointed,
Wondrous works of abstracts;
Ornamentation,
Let the trees of the forest rejoice!
Established,
Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad;
For i am now looking through the window of love,
And like Fifel Castrol with a bottle of Coca-Cola in the hand.

My Favourite Things

I love lots of things in life. By many things, I'm cheered.
By the time you've read the following list, you may think I'm a bit weird!

I love watching the penguins at the zoo.
I love the giraffes and the zebras too.
I love the sights and sounds of a carousel.
I love the distinctive toll of the Big Ben bell.
There are many shows I love on TV,
Like Doctor Who, Merlin, Coast and Glee.

I love eating out in Wetherspoons pubs.
I love eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream tubs.
I love to eat a slice of gooey chocolate cake.
I love to drink a thick, frothy milkshake.
I love the bassoon's deep resonant tone.
In summer, I love to eat an ice cream cone.

I love walking by the Thames on a sunny day.
I love cooked breakfasts when I go away.
I love watching swans swimming, gliding past.
I love floating bubbles - it's a shame they don't last!
I love hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and cream.
I love Edinburgh at festival time - have you been?

I love to go and see a theatre show.
I love the sight of freshly fallen snow.
I love seeing seals in their natural habitat.
I love to befriend and pet a cute cat.
I love to sing with a huge choir on the stage
And read a book which is compelling page after page.

I love lasagne and garlic bread.
I love the snuggly warmth of my bed.
I love to listen to music when I'm feeling low.
I love the moon and stars, which in the sky glow.
I love pastel colours of every hue -
Baby pink, lilac, lemon and powder blue.

Maybe if you have a spare while,
You can list the things that make you smile? !

Things Go Better With Coke #1

Orbison/dees
Roy orbison wants to get together again
Baby, how it hurts to break up, but its so much fun to make up
Lets do the things we used to do, you love me and I love you
Lets talk again, joke again lets get together for a coke again
Things go better with coca cola, things go better with coke
Lets relive the date that we just broke, our favorite cafe, the special of the day
The jukebox playing, things go better with coke
Well, waiter, waiter, treat us right, you remember what we like
Shes back again, by my side again, waiter, we want to feel alive again
Things go better with coca cola, things go better with coke
I;m glad we kept the date we almost broke, our favorite cafe, the special of the day
The jukebox playing, things go better with coke
(spoken) you never get tired of its taste coke after coke
Things go better with coke #2
Orbison/dees
Roy orbison takes a break
Stayed out too late, at work at eight, dont wanna wait for that ten o clock break
Big man, if you can, let me go for a coke right now
For things go better with coca cola, things go better with coke
Ill get caught up if youll let me stop for a coke, a big tall frosty ice cold bottle of coke
Fun goes better with, food goes better with, people go better with coke
The real live one puts extra fun in you and everything you do
Big man, let me take a five minute break, things go better with coke, things go better with coke
(spoken) sometimes on big jobs I drink coke after coke after coke
And I never get tired of the taste
Yeah, things go better with coke
Things go better with coke #3
Orbison/dees
Things go better with coca cola, things go better with coke
Life is fun when youre refreshed and coke refreshes you the best, ah-ah
Fun goes better with, food goes better with, people go better with coke
The real live one puts extra fun in you and everything you do
Things go better with coca cola, things go better with coke
Life is fun when youre refreshed and coke refreshes you the best
So things go better with coca cola, yeah, things go better with coke
Things go better with coke #4

Pepsi and Coca cola make people ready

soda's and water, blended with ingredients makes
the whole family happy, awesome some people
may say, satisfying result made our thirst refresh,
just as what many have taste; yawm1 ahrrh! whew!
ohm! feel so good and sweet for any holiday

Pepsi, what a luck day, Coca cola it’s always a
christmas for a whole way, wow! people shouted for
joy, dances for a night, singing and backing just to
stay for a night for a long, long company of friends
and families

drink as you laugh with Pepsi, makes you healthy
and a jump for joy with Coca cola leads you to stay
for a great job will done, the water of soda's made the
world go round, walking with feet, seeing with eyes
and listening with the ear, help cease pain in harmony,
like wounds rounded with thorn, the ingredients please
every dry throat to sip the sweeten soda's in the thirst
return

see soda as your on, use Pepsi as you drink and Coca
cola to round the healthy habit you earn, all are the
elements to stay alive, do what you can do for today,
act as you believe will bring other to learn, the highway
of what await us in the place what we call the future

be a Pepsi and Coca cola to other, let your taste be
tasted to zoom the future, its coming be generous
in sharing what you have in life...you’re a gift to other
life....thank and God bless you brother

Boracay Fantasy....

this summer when we are together
in boracay
near as tongue to a cone of strawberry ice cream
licking,

i get so close to you that i can feel the 'tanness'
of your tan
tasting like chocolate without sugar
a little bit bitter but
enduring

after the sun has passed its joys upon you
brown smooth skin
broad spacious nape and black flowing hair
surfing upon a pair of mountain breasts
with trees as nipples

scented with
southern sea breeze and smelling like fried dried fish beside steam white pearly rice
early morning
with barako coffee and cream and freshly scrambled mayonnaise egg
on a sky blue saucer.

how i wish for a premature evening
beds softer than sand, thoughts ever lovelier than lovers
and such questions as,

'what is this moon saying? '

tonight, you are telling me
your room has no lock and your sister is dating
that new guy in town.

Fatter

Fatter, fatter
Shake n bake, fatter
Shake n bake, fatter
Fatter
Corndogs, pizza, coca cola
Yogurt, butterscotch, granola
Look at me, Im fatter
Im fatter, Im fatter
Friends all gather round me
My enemies surround me
Yelling fatso, fatso, fatso
Ive eaten at every single greasy spoon on seventh avenue
Thats right, Im fatter
Dont you know my weight is going up, up, up, up, up
I tell you, this turkey sure is tough
Tough, tough, tough, tough, tough, tough
They got pizza on the west side
French fries up town
Corn dogs deep fried in batter
Im fatter
Go ahead, bite the big apple
Dont mind the calories
Pile it on my platter
Im fatter
Pile it up, pile it high up

Losing Love

cellphones cannot keep love.

emails cannot substitute for lunch
just the two of you
over a plate of spaghetti
a cup of coca cola

skypes are imitations of
our sounds
sometimes we are not the way
we sound in
cyberspace

there is nothing like it
when we keep love burning
upon a tryst in
a cottage on the side of a hill
inside a room
with the light of a candle

it is a warm bed of hay
away from the city

the android cannot sum us up
in facebook uploads

we go back to holding hands
strolling upon a mountain trail
under the trees

how can we lose love? how can life slip from
our grasping hands?

tell me.

Uncleaned Sink

She loved Bach and listened
To him whenever she had the
Chance and while sitting listening
She gazed at her Picasso prints
And sipped the cola she mixed
With vodka and remembered
Ricans trying to make it with her
But she not interested in that
Side of being with him not wanting
To see the all too human side not
Wishing to see that aspect which
Made him all so much like everybody
Else just wanted that part of him
Which sat and listened to Bach and
Gazed at the Picasso prints sipping
Vodka and cola which she hoped made
Him think of higher things than sex
Drugs or the uncleaned bathroom sink.

Self-centered....

the blond
has a hand that carries a cone of
vanilla ice cream

it is summer

he looks at the sea
and lets his ice cream melt
not licking it yet

the sea is so blue

a woman looks at his
well chiseled body his
butterfly back
his abs and
strong arms

the ice cream melts

the man looks at the sand
and estimates the size
of his shadow

the sand is so white

the woman with her long black hair
in a two piece
the main attraction of this poem
backs out
and buys her own cone of
vanilla ice cream
and she licks it until the ice cream
is consumed

the man goes to the sea and makes
his needed dive

indeed the sea is so blue
and it is a sad summer....

Monkey Butt with Choca Mocha

It's not my favorite...
But it's hot!
This flavor tasted that I've got!
It satisfies a need that's fed...
A craving that has stopped inside my head!

A temporary drop,
In my pocket.
I will admit a feeding has been met!
A soothing to a drooling has been cooled.
Addicted to a moment of regret that's soothed!

Put a double on the cone for me!
With a cherry on the top...
Sitting on whipped cream with meaning!

Put a double on the cone for me!
Since you're out of Maple Nut...
I'll take take two scoops of 'Monkey Butt'.
And come back and get that 'Choca Mocha'!

Put a double on the cone for me!
With a cherry on the top...
Sitting on whipped cream with meaning!

Put a double on the cone for me!
Since you're out of Maple Nut...
Give me 'Monkey Butt' with 'Choca Mocha'!
Wait!
Leave the 'Monkey Butt'
And add two 'Choca Mochas'!

It was much too hot

It was much too hot
in that Pick-a-Pay shopping centre
in the middle of a Pretoria summer
and something went awry
with the air-conditioning
which was blowing hot air.

We had two trolleys full of groceries,
bought our budget for the month
and your face was red pink
covered in gleaming sweat.

Two girls passed in the isle
holding hands
and looking as if
they were much more
than friends.

You bended down
to get some coffee
and the first
that I noticed them
was when one cursed
at you and then at me
to get out of their way.

There were a million things
that I could say back,
but it occurred to me
that they could pass anyhow
and that their manners
were totally lacking
which I made clear.

At the row at the cashier
you spotted them again
and realized that you know one
from somewhere
and gave her your mind
and she didn’t know
what to say back
and blushed tomato red.

We passed the Wimpy
on our way to the car
and I herded you there
where they had
bottomless Coca Cola,
burgers and fries.

Our money was tight
but we enjoyed ourselves
drinking one glass
after another

and a father, mother
and two children
came to the neighbouring table.

He was unsteady on his feet
and his speech
proclaimed him being drunk
and he had probably already
started drinking brandy and beer
long before the afternoon’s rugby match

and he had a lot of patience
with their children
and they didn’t notice his state,
but embarrassment was written
over the face
of the poor woman
who could have faded away
while he loudly
made a fool of himself.

A Saturday At Sweet Willows Creamery

Smiles for many on this Saturday
As kids and adults alike head for Sweet Willows Creamery

I take my place in line
With kids and adults in front and in back of me
I read the list of what specials are present for today
Then I turn my attention to the vast array of flavors
Married to the many wonderful colors

Some choose an ice cream cone or shake
While the many daring choose to test their mettle and appetite with the Willownator

Soon it's time for me to decide
While I always love the chocolate shakes
On this day I'll indulge in the fairy dust cotton candy

And it's service with a smile
The staff in t-shirts and ball caps
Making my Saturday worthwhile

A few scoops in a cup will be fine with me
Afterwards I gladly pay and hand over my money

It's a sunny afternoon
Perfect for a Saturday
As I sit outside on a bench
Admiring as well the butterflies and flowers
Along with a few clouds joining the beautiful blue sky
The sun proudly resides over everything

Digging into my ice cream
Enjoying the sweet taste
And loving the taste and crunch from the candy crystals

Edgar Lee Masters

Batterson Dobyns

Did my widow flit about
From Mackinac to Los Angeles,
Resting and bathing and sitting an hour
Or more at the table over soup and meats
And delicate sweets and coffee?
I was cut down in my prime
From overwork and anxiety.
But I thought all along, whatever happens
I've kept my insurance up,
And there's something in the bank,
And a section of land in Manitoba.
But just as I slipped I had a vision
In a last delirium:
I saw myself lying nailed in a box
With a white lawn tie and a boutonnière,
And my wife was sitting by a window
Some place afar overlooking the sea;
She seemed so rested, ruddy and fat,
Although her hair was white.
And she smiled and said to a colored waiter:
"Another slice of roast beef, George.
Here's a nickel for your trouble."

Hole In My Head

Remember yesterday?
Driving down the M4
The sun lit up your face
Playing all the tunes
Feeling like a child again
The pain has been erased
I feel much better anyhow
Until I see that black cloud
I got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps looking in
Got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps crashing in
Stop looking in
Hide it all away
Keeping your heart inside a box
That no one else can take
Smile it all away
Holding back a thousand lies
But that was yesterday
I love it when she comes around
Until I see that black cloud
I got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps looking in
Got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps crashing in
Got a hole in my head
Got this song in my head
Waiting for the sun to come around
Waiting for the sun to come around
Take another smoke
I though you said you'd given up?
And does your mother know?
Take another rest
Holding out my hand again
I hope that we're still friends
I got a, I got a, I got a, I got a...
I got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps looking in
Got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps crashing in
I got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps looking in
Got a hole in my head
And it's making me sad
Got a hole and the world keeps crashing in

Diet Song

Well breakfast black coffee one slice of dry toast no butter no jelly no jam
Lunch just some lettuce two celery stalks no booze no potatoes no ham
Dinner one chicken wing broiled not fried no gravy no biscuits no pie
And this dietin' dietin' dietin' dietin' sure is a rough way to die

So pass me a carrot stick peel me a prune a glass of skim milk and that's all
Turn off the TV for the Big Mac commercial it's drivin' me straight up the wall
And I'm think' of french fries sausage and waffles spaghetti and cookies and cake
And each night I'm dreamin' of chocolate ice cream and
I'm starvin' to death when I wake all for your sake

You're fixin' the kids all those creamed mashed potatoes
But it's bouillon and water for me and you got a lock on the refrigerator
Lord knows where you're hidin' the key
And while I am starvin' for food late at night I'm starvin' for lovin' from you
But you say that when I can see my own dick you'll be glad to look at it too

So supper two pieces of cauliflower raw some beefsteak the size of a nail
One sliced tomato a small dab of slaw I swear I ate better in jail
Stop eatin' that pizza right under my nose girl that's the least you can do
And put down that candy bar while I am singin' I'm starvin' my ass off for you
And when I am dead with the insurance paid you'll look down at me and you'll grin
You'll say well the boy tried and he suffered and died
But don't he look good when he's thin
