The Effects of Distrust ....

the point that the finger of distrust shows
is that you become what you are
firm and unperturbed as others cannot make you
comfortable about what to do and where

you experience this way of looking at things
straight to the eye
and without any question anymore
the way you walk alone on that pavement
where you are too definite where to go
and stop

you have become a horse driving no carriage
listening to no master
there is nothing that blinds the side of your eyes
you listen to the wind and you leap upon its imagination

of a mirage, a desert that you can cross
the oasis that waits for you and the date palms with abundant fruits

there is no one now that deserves your voice
it is you and you alone that must speak and be heard
you alone that live and die
for in truth there is no one that has that ability to save you

for now, being alone is strength
a recuperation from a brokenness
a reconstruction, a redemption....

for J....

I am glad
having said
i could have loved you more...
it is sad
when love withers
due to your suns
when the desert bears more sands
because you hated more
about dreams of waters
rains are strangers
and the caravan of camels
are trains of thoughts
traveling at night
and not knowing what days are...

i am an oasis
and i have no place for you anymore
the leaves of my date palms
do not recognize your songs
anymore.

Walk Away

Youve got your mother and your brother
Every other undercover telling you what to say
You think Im stupid but the truth is that its cupid baby loving you has made me this way
So before you point your finger
Get your hand off of my trigger
You need to know the situations getting old
And now the more you talk the less I can take
Im looking for attention
Not another question
Should you stay or should you go
Well if you dont have the answer
Why you still standing here
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Just walk away
I waited here for you like a kid waiting after school
So tell me, how come you never showed
I gave you everything and never asked for anything
And look at me, Im all alone
So before you start defending baby
Stop all your pretending
I know you know I know so whats the point of being slow
Lets get this show on the road today
Im looking for attention
Not another question
Should you stay or should you go
Well if you dont have the answer
Why you still standing here
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Just walk away
I want a love
I want a fire
To feel the burn, my desires
I want a man by my side
Not a boy who runs and hides
Are you gonna fight for me, die for me
Live and breathe for me
Do you care for me
Cause if you dont then just leave
Im looking for attention
Not another question
Should you stay or should you go
Well if you dont have the answer
Why you still standing here
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Just walk away
Well if you dont have the answer
Why you still standing here
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Just walk away
walk away
walk away

Dryness

there are deserts
of relationship.
i've been there
and i will find myself
back in there
at least, with this experience
i had with camels and oasis
and mirage
now, i shall know how to manage
the sands
slipping from my fingers
the date palms and the
full moon
and the sandstorms
and then
the same thing happens
you ultimately find the sea
and the port
and hands waving
welcoming you back home.

Sixteen Ways to Never Fall In Love

1. Do not read this.

2. Make sure there is only enough room in your pockets
for one night stands
and the receipt for the breakfast
you will eat alone the next morning.

3. Constantly live in the wrong time
because romance
and the watch that ticks on your wrist
never quite seem to line up.

4. Repeat 'I like being alone. It's freeing'
but never learn the feeling
of just how free you can be
when you touch someone
who looks like the dreams you had before you knew
how cruel the world was.

5. Say that you have seen love fall apart
like birds have seen rooftops
but never stop to think
that although it may hurt when it breaks,
that will never change how beautiful it was
when it came together.

6. If you meet someone
who reminds you of magic,
let them vanish into thin air.

7. Instead of whispering secrets
across pillowcases,
let them live inside you
because you believe that never giving voice to your weakness
gives you strength.

8. Do not find out
what the sound of selflessness feels like,
a laugh or a satisfied sigh.

9. Hide the broken parts of yourself
because you think
that brokenness
does not deserve to be loved.

10. Ignore when I say
that brokenness is what needs
and deserves to be loved
more than anything.

11. Settle for the one
who only suits your shallow desires,
and when the flame finally burns out,
pretend that you love the emptiness
of a superficial romance.

12. If there is someone you have encountered
who makes you feel even a fragment of possibility
that you could find love within them
bury those feelings beneath your cowardice.

13. Make sure that sex
begins with alcohol
and ends with an unrehearsed
and imperfect goodbye.

14. Do not glance into their eyes.

15. Do not look at them
when they are candid
and unplanned
because those moments
are the ones where love often lingers
and waits for you to notice
just how beautiful someone can be
when they are trying their very least.

16. Say that it's too early
you're too busy
it's too hard,
keep riffling off the things that you call reasons
and you may wake up one day
to find that maybe now,
it's too late.
The one you could have loved
is the one
that you let get away.

Mirage

(words & music by giant - baum - kaye)
Is your love darling just a mirage?
From the distance, you call to me like an oasis
Though your kisses, keep drawing me near
Is your love a mirage that will disappear?
Like a man in the desert, Im lost
Is this dream just a trick of my imagination
Though I thirst for your lips, night and day
Is your love a mirage that will fade away?
How I pray, heaven answered my prayer
When I reach out for you, youll be there
In the search for my love will be through
Like a dream a mirage, will come true
How I pray, heaven answered my prayer
When I reach out for you, youll be there
In the search for my love will be through
Like a dream a mirage, will come true
A mirage, a mirage, a mirage

Two Sides To Every Story

There are two sides to every story
Not just the side of them or theirs,
So never judge or hold a grudge
And when you listen, please listen with care.
Listen to one side and then always the other
Not just one side and then walk away
If you pick that route, sad you'll turn out
And never will you ever feel or be the same.
You will hate yourself as truth be told
If you listen to only one side of the story
You'll live in disgrace, when you see your face
And never will you fill satisfaction or joy.
As time will come, and of course time will tell
Someday the truth it will all come out
And when it you do hear, will you shed a tear
As you found out you took the wrong route.

There is two sides to every story
Not just the side that you want to hear
And not from their soul, that you do not know
And not from someone who will cry you a tear.
When you listen, please listen well
No matter if they be friend or foe
Look into their eyes, then you might realize
And then the truth might just be known.
To condemn someone is such a terrible act
Which you must live with the rest of your life
You will live in shame, for someone you falsely blamed
And always you will question yourself why.
A pretty face or a sad sad story
Guilt either begins or ends with that line
As a pretty face, it can mask lies or hate
Then the truth through deception is left behind.

There are two sides to every story
I must preach that statement once again
Listen to both sides, then the judgment you can decide
And happy you will be in the end
As you cannot judge a book by it's cover
No matter what you might hear or what might be said
As so many will lie, so that to get pity on their side
While untruth and deception they will had led.
A saddened face is just a saddened story
There is more to the truth to one persons story
Don't falsely judge, if so even GOD will hold a grudge
Then far away you will be from his glory.
When you listen to a story listen with your soul
Never be afraid to ask a question or even ask why
And always seek the truth, as you would seek out good fruit
And remember to every story there is always another side.

Superman

you've been on my mind and I don't think I have the time
to listen to your voice
I've heard it all before, it's been seeping through the floor
shut behind closed doors
but I can see right through you now
the beneficial lies are told to keep us with closed eyes
shading what's in store
I guess it's up to me to find the luck and turn the key
and open up these doors but I can see right through you now....
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day
well you've been on my mind and I don't think I have the time
to listen to your voice
I've heard it all before, it's been seeping through the floor
shut behind closed doors
but I can see right through you now
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day
I don't want to follow
you can't make me follow
I don't want to follow
you cant make me follow now
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day
ah yeah I'm superman
a three-piece suit and master plan
here I come to save the day

Y.... River meets desert

A young river,
So strong
Nothing could stop it
Nothing went wrong

Big rocks in its way
No problem at all
It went over them
Around them if tall

But then it met the desert
Water sank deep into sand
Huge problem for the river
It looked like its life was to end

Desperately
It turned to our God
'Please, God help me
To get away from or over this spot'

A voice from above said
'Look at the wind in the sky
It crosses the desert so easily
So just stop to cry! '

'But I am not wind, I am water
How can I cross
Please help me
I am at a loss'

'Did you forget dear river, '
Said the voice from above
'Long time before you were a river
The wind carried you with love'

The river let its water evaporate
Allowed the wind to carry it once more
In its loving arms,
wind held the river as before

Across the desert they went
A lot of water in a big large cloud
And at the other side
The wind let it rain out

There the river again became strong
Even better and stronger than before
With much vigor it ran
For everyone to adore

Dear young men and women alike
If you meet with the desert or anything wrong
Remember who carried you
Before you became a river so strong

When Confronted By A Lousy Poem

after reading another
lousy poem
(i guess it could be like
mine, in the strict sense
of your standard
master academic
poet, multi awarded
poetess)
i decided to pause
for a while,
reflect, meditate,
cogitate,
blink, wink,
t h i n k t h i n k
give the writer the benefit of the doubt
due to his feelings
he must have these
within him/her
asking myself what prompts
him to write

i think it is not for fame,
for he will never have, he knows it
the world is filled already with a million famous men
and women
and there is no place anymore for one
like him
(or me, i know, don't bluff me
i know, don't ask me)

i think it is because he is like a snake
(Nothing bad about snakes
nothing metaphorically treacherous)
bitten by another snake, bleeding
and sliding his way in the sands of the
desert
looking for an oasis
a date palm
a branch of an olive tree
(is there an olive tree in the desert?
i have not gone there anyway
yet)

looking for a cure.
i then make a conclusion,
he deserves to be commended
for this bravery
of writing about
pain
at least writing about it
since he still does not know
of any cure
for pain, or if there is
i know, he knows, it is only
temporary

like the pain in our
hearts

(or asses if you will)

I Cant Stop The Rain

This is new york, yo
(its getting dark)
Night falls on the city
Finds me all alone
Makes me wonder
Should I just go on home
And I walk up the stairs
To see if youre sill there
Would you mind if
I found you alone
Then a cold wind came callin
Strange how it knew itd bother me
See the night would fade
But the pains gonna stay
Makes me wonder
Have you ever made love to me
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin only blinds my eyes
Aint it sad
When the only love I ever had
Just slips away
Right through my fingers
Aint it a shame when I think of your name
The only memory I have is it
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
It takes a witch to curse that goddamn sky
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
cause lightnin only blinds my eyes
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
cause lightnin only blinds my eyes
Cant stop it, blinds my eyes

Nothing Anymore

When I once looked into your eyes,
I saw honesty lying there.
When I once looked into your eyes,
I saw loyalty with love and care.
When I once looked into your eyes,
I saw life and love forever more.
When I now look into your eyes,
I see darkness, and nothing anymore.

When I once held onto your hand,
I felt compassion, kindness and love.
When I once held onto your hand,
I felt the warmth from GOD above.
When I once held onto your hand,
I felt a joy from the person I adored.
When I now hold onto your hand,
I feel coldness, and nothing anymore.

When I use to listen to your voice,
I once heard it with vigor and excitement.
When I use to listen to your voice,
I once heard it with warmth and fulfillment.
When I use to listened to your voice,
I once heard it with truth which I swore.
When I now listen to your voice.
I go dumb, as I hear nothing anymore.

When I once looked upon your face,
I would always look with pride and a smile.
When I once looked upon your face,
I would always thank GOD your with me now
When I once looked upon your face,
I would always be there to open your door.
When I now look upon your face,
I go blind, as I see nothing anymore.

When I once kissed your lips,
I tasted myself and also your flavor.
When I once kissed your lips,
I tasted life as you were my savior.
When I once kissed your lips,
I tasted excitement and your love in store.
When I now think of kissing your lips,
I now bite them shut, I taste nothing anymore.

For A Friend

(released as b-side of we wait and we wonder cd single, 1994)
When I saw him last
He had that look in his eyes
I said, do you need to talk?
He said, no.
So I called him up, asked him again and I waited a while -
He began to speak, then he started to cry
You know some things are best left unspoken
And some things just never work out
And sometimes, seems you try and you try and whatever you do
Theres a fix that youre in, and you just cant get out
He said, i need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on
Though I didnt know what
I knew that something was wrong
But he still had his pride
Hed tell me in time
Well this feeling inside
Kept eating at me
I was losing a friend, and I had to know why
When I heard the voice on the phone, I knew it was bad news
So I rushed to be by his side
And we said goodbye for the last time
I gently hugged him, and kissed him goodbye
He whispered, i need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on.
We were always laughing
I just remember laughing, mama
We were always laughing
Oh I need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on
Though as time goes by, and it all becomes clear
We can see the deceit, we see the lies
So I asked myself, over and over, and over again
What did they know? what did they hide?
Fools, leading the innocent blindly
Fools, turning away
And I know that
When I think of my friend with that look in his eyes
And if they told the truth, he might be here today
I need your help, I need it now
Just give me the strength to go on, on
I remember the laughing
We were always laughing
Oh no - its just strength we need now
Just the strength to go on...

She Really Deserves The Best...

inside last
night's dream she
appears again: light skinned
too young for her age
smiling
seducing you to be
in her side again

you have actually
forgotten her name
but her face speaks
a language that
makes you remember
what it was before
between you and her
in that past

she holds your hand
she does not speak
she takes you to a
very silent place
where she plants a kiss
on your lips

you love her
still
that is what you
can only recall
but you cannot
love her anymore
and that is
a matter of
a firm decision

you left her again
but this time
she is no longer
crying

when the dream closed
like a door
and you are out
into the open
field of your
disposition

you are definite
there is no guilt
there is only that
happiness
that somehow tells you
she deserves
the best

and you are not just
that.

Sonnet: Rely In God

Like rider lone on horseback in desert,
While vultures scream encircling overhead;
To sun and wind and dusty storms inert,
In quest of hope-filled plains, I ride half-dead!

My horse is weary and I am tired;
The mirage of an ‘oasis’ I see;
The air I breathe is hotter expired;
I need water and food and rest surely.

And suddenly, I see a stream aflow!
But it is full of crocodiles afloat!
From one danger to another, I go;
To cross the stream, God must give me His boat.

The God who cared for me until today,
Will surely guide me rest of my long way.

Unperturbed

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
I'm glad about it.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
I'm glad about it.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

I'm unperturbed by what is mine deserved.
People like you 'got' nerve.
But sitting on mine is not permitted.
I've been acquitted, exculpated.
A receipt I have says paid in full.
Any stress on my back will be minimal.

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
I'm glad about it.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
I'm glad about it.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
And I'm unperturbed.
I've got it.
And I'm unperturbed.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

The peace you see for me has been alloted.
And I'm unperturbed.
I've got it.
And I'm unperturbed.
No need to shout or frown your mouth,
Or question how I feel with doubt.

Oh...oh...oh...oh,
I'm unperturbed.
The peace you see for me has been alloted.
And I'm unperturbed.
I've got it.
I'm unperturbed.
I've got it.
And I'm unperturbed.

I'm unperturbed.
I've got it.
And I'm unperturbed.

The Last Flight

there is always a reason why a man cannot
cease writing
there is that denial of what was there a long time ago
it sits there like a statue
beside the door of the house
where the window is always closed

there is always a reason why the words keep flowing
like a river
why the river is always filled with running water
despite the drought

you see the bones of cows
the dust of the sands in the desert
it was once an oasis
where date palms abound where women bathe
with their men
where they make love
under the crescent moon

there is always a reason that you know
but you do not tell
but which i will always deny
as truth

it is this denial that keeps my hands going
like soldiers ready for a kill in that theater of war
it is this roaring lion that does not bite
that keeps me
in fear that keeps me speaking inside myself
there is no one here
there is no wall anymore

the winds are waiting with all the wings of the dead birds
it is ready
i am undressing
this is the flight.

Admit the truth

Tell me the truth once in your life.
Answer me, to my straight question.
At what time that day did you bring
Your wife from her bosses flat?

Tell me the truth once in your life.
Answer me to my straight question.
At what home did you get your maid
Aborted and at what cost to save your pride?

Tell me the truth once in your life.
Answer me to my straight question.
How many son-in-laws did you change
Before you set her in a wealthy lord?

Tell me the truth once in your life
Before you die a death of beach,
Having built your fort on illicit bricks.
Admit the truth at least only once.

The Message

o master, i get the point
i must write, and must make them
understand about a place that
is devoid of houses and trains.
o master, i get the message
i must write a poem about
a mirage, things that seem
to be, but are not,
i must take them to that place
of haze, and yet the flowers are
so real, that someone did not just
smell but take some petals to eat.
all of these ransom faces
they take for granted what reality
is all about.
It is the understanding that
things are better be left alone.
They grow without us, the grass.
They spin, without us, the planets
The sun stays in place, even if
explode our minds.
This the message, we are here
to drink the water
why do we have to make one?
why do we have to
explain why?
O master, let us live.
We have taken everything
for granted.

Crazy

It's the ability to burn without fire
Its being able to hear the truth from the liar
The constant torture without pain
Losing yourself to find something to gain
It's the cuts that don't bleed
It's the want without the need
The sight with blind eyes
Wishing for wings when you can already fly
It's the voice from the mute
It's the gun no man can shoot
The cry with no tears
The ability to face your fears
It's the water that is dry
It's the life that can't die
The logic you can't apprehend
Because you know a reality that won't bend
It's the wish that is never made
It's the waterfall that never will cascade
The lies one can make to hide the truth
The ability to believe without proof
It's you and I sat side by side
It's the love that won't bind
The dream from a land of make-believe
An image that only our minds eye can conceive
To the crazy it's the truth
To others it's the foolishness of youth
It's the delusional world insanity creates
The world you know is a lie but now it's too late
