The Bowl...
yes, this is a case
of a candle burning itself
on both sides
and below it
on two heads of fire
is a bowl full of
water
shaping what could
be the
truth
when the final shape
is taken
as usual
we go back
to that empty bowl
but less
the candle
the melted one
shedding off
lights

This Candle
there is this candle in my heart
and it is burning
like my yearning
that is empty and wanting
to be filled
like a basin wanting
to have water
from the rain
there is this void
that can not be filled
there is this mouth
that speaks about
my beloved
i like this candle
i like this fire
and see, i am burning with
desire
i like too the rain
that falls on my basin
see
i am a candle burning
with desire
swimming on the water
never dead
never quenched
never stopping
see, you are with me
never sleeping
wanting some more
see, we are dreaming
we are alive
we are these candles
burning
turning into a wildfire.

Away The Bowl
Our grateful hearts with temperance burn,
Away, away the bowl,
From dram shops all, our steps we turn,
Away, away the bowl;
Farewell to rum and all its harms,
Farewell the wine-cup's boasted charms,
Away the bowl, away the bowl, away, away the bowl.
See how that staggering drunkard reels!
Away, away the bowl;
Alas, the misery he reveals,
Away, away the bowl;
His children grieve, his wife's in tears!
How sad his once bright home appears!
Away the bowl, away the bowl, away, away the bowl.
We drink no more, nor buy nor sell,
Away, away the bowl!
The grog-shop's offers we repel,
Away, away the bowl.
United in a temperance band,
We 're joined in heart, we 're joined in hand,
Away the bowl, away the bowl, away, away the bowl.

Candles
Faith for reasons still unknown
Like bleak house fog seems everywhere
The truth has frozen into stone
And hope lies freezing in the midnight air
Though dark our days may seem
This is a different dream
Their freedom light dont shine at all
So I will light a candle for you
Keep it burning in the night
And pray that you are all right
I will light a candle for you
Little candle burning bright
When school yard heroes disappeared
The little girl, she stands alone
Oh I believe you if you say
A prayer can help to get her home
So I will light a candle for you
Keep it burning in the night
And pray that you are all right
I will light a candle for you
Little candle burning bright

Making A Candle
i pick up the pieces
of melted candle
these are the wastes
left-overs of those already used
burned, i cut them with a sharp knife
like bread crumbs and
put them all in a small kettle
a little fire melts all of them
i got a thread a slice of tin
as weight inside a mold
i pour the melted candle there
and set the newly formed one aside
i reflect upon life
i reflect upon the people with wasted lives
vis-a-vis
the new candle that i made.

Leave A Candle
Leave a candle burning bright
So that I may see tonight
The darkness pushing all around
Drowning out my every sound
Leave a candle on the sill
If no one does so then I will
I'll light the candle on my own
And I'll fight on all alone
Leave a candle let it sing
Else I can't stop my cutting
My blood will flow out, drip, and fall
As shadows move across the wall
Leave a candle to the end
It shall be my only friend
Let it burn untill my death
And blow it out with my last breath
Leave a candle in the dark
So it leaves it's glowing mark
And guides me to my final rest
Cause I failed the living test

One Candle
A spark flickers
a bright flame glows.
Pushing shadows back
one candle burns.
Within its heart
such strength is born.
Brings the will to persevere
in the darkest hours.
From one burning candle
no matter near or far.
Like a living soul
warm energy flows.
To one who is lost
this tiny radiance
lights a dark path.
It shows the way.
Think of the good
could be done.
Had one the power
of a single burning candle.

Gestalt....
is it the shape?
the shape of your face, your heart,
is it just the shape, of your body, the color of your hair,
the kinkiness of your eyes,
is it just the shape of the bowl that matters to you?
what about the contents of the
bowl, or if it is empty, what about the air that fills it somehow?
do you see it? no you don't, so
it is not just the shape, neither just the parts,
or the whole, there is something more in shapes and colors
and
even contents,
there is the will that bends everything
to mercy
there is the decision that convinces us all
to be one, this sympathy,
that empathy, that belief that i cannot live
without you,
that someone dies when someone leaves,
that life is better with us
in all these,
that there is life after our deaths,
there is this
unseen coming, this one that we want to
grasp yet
because we think we failed.

A Candle And A Man.
Someone lights a candle
And I see the things around.
A candle must burn like this
Nay, every candle must burn like this.
I begin to tell every one.
A candle dies as it lives for us
And we appear to live while we travel towards the end.
A candle lives and lives while it appears to be dying..
A lot we have to learn.
I begin to learn none.
It`s a candle which lives and lives throws greater questions
And I begin to be introceptive
-A mental exercise on a confined mind.
When shall I begin to live like a candle?
When shall I give out a flame that lives?
The questions begin to boomerang on me
As I sit in the candle light and see everything.
I see everything?
I miss to see a candle too.
The ghost of a candle haunts me.

Explorations: XXVI
I stand
At your door-step
With an empty bowl
I can't ask you
Why I'm made
To stand there
I can't ask you
Why my bowl
Is empty;
The bowl
The emptiness
And I
Are all your design
Are your creation!

That One Blue Candle
(danny okeefe/vince melamed)
Turn out the light
Darkness makes me sentimental
Warm breeze wraps around us
And theres comfort in your voice
On second thought
Please leave on that one blue candle
Life reveals your secrets
And it gives my eyes a choice
All the shadows dance upon the walls
Love is all thats left to say
As the glow from that one blue candle
Softly lights the way
And tomorrow when the world returns
And the shadows of the night depart
Will the light from that one blue candle
Still be burning in our hearts?
By candle light
These moments slowly melt together
And well make love last forever
This time its only us
All the shadows dance upon the walls
Love is all thats left to save
As the glow from that one blue candle
Softly lights the way
And tomorrow when the world returns
And the shadows of the night depart
Will the light from that one blue candle?
Still be burning in our hearts
Still be burning in our hearts
Still be burning in our hearts

Coming Back....
would like to come back as a candle,
a bowl of soup held by hungry hands.
a simple wooden crutch for the crippled,
a bedpan for the aged.
a blanket for the homeless,
a small fire for the cold.
and the sound of a mother's voice,
quieting the child afraid.
a leaf, a turtle, perhaps a drink of water,
a tear that needs to be cried...
the straw that forms the sparrow's nest,
i could ask for nothing more!

This Art....
it is just a matter of having it in
and it gives the usual
pain or joy, no choice, the feelings
are always there
and the sense of knowing and
being too analytical seemingly destroys the
beauty indescribably
setting
she gives a sigh
when nobody seems to be clapping hands
when no one is bowing
or saying a name at least that one makes it right
and rhyming
'at last, i do not really care'
this is autonomy
of indiscretions of feelings and all these are but
streams
of consciousness the usual candle tears taking shape
in a bowl of cold water
'we let it go'
we tell ourselves mutually about the release of what had been kept
for years
and we know no one understands what is these all about
a sewing machine
a pillow, a veil, a pin, an injecting sting,
a rope, a blanket,
an authority, a cushion, a bluffer,
a clown, and so on and so forth
you are finally misled about all these things
a scissor, a triangular cloth,
an umbrella,
a starfish,
the usual moon resting upon the trees
the sun peeping between two mountains early morning
the kid in town
finally planting the rice seeds
and the buffalo still enjoying the day in mud
there is plane that lands at the airport at 2 o'clock in the afternoon
when you are still taking your siesta by the verandah
and you are irritated and you tell yourself
'oh yes! ' this is all about it.

Seamen Three
Seamen three! What men be ye?
Gotham's three wise men we be.
Whither in your bowl so free?
To rake the moon from out the sea.
The bowl goes trim. The moon doth shine.
And our ballast is old wine;
And your ballast is old wine.
Who art thou, so fast adrift?
I am he they call Old Care.
Here on board we will thee lift.
No: I may not enter there.
Wherefore so? 'Tis Jove's decree,
In a bowl Care may not be;
In a bowl Care may not be.
Fear ye not the waves that roll?
No: in charmed bowl we swim.
What the charm that floats the bowl?
Water may not pass the brim.
The bowl goes trim. The moon doth shine.
And our ballast is old wine;
And your ballast is old wine.

Candles
candle
it is used to light up
your years
candle
it is used to blow out
your years
candle
it is used to turn shadows
into animals
candle
it is used to help us see
the real from the shadows
candle
love and passion drip
through the wedding night
candle
a lump of spent energy
after all is over

The first bowl on the earth
The second bowl on the sea
The third bowl on the rivers
The fourth bowl on the sun
The fifth bowl on the beast
The sixth bowl on the stars
The seventh bowl on the air

And the earth turned grey
Sea turned black
The rivers turned red
The sun turned cold

Candle Of Hope
I light this candle of hope
For the people in Mindanao
Particularly in Maguindanao
A southern part in our country, the Philippines.
I light this candle of hope
For the weeping child, for the abused
For the weak women, tortured and some buried alive
I light this candle of hope
For the widows, widowers, orphans
for the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers.
This Christmas, I know it will be very hard
To celebrate Christmas with joy in your heart
It is not easy to lose a loved one.
Your tears will be gone, in His time
Your broken heart will be whole
Just keep that faith inside in each one of you
And keep this candle of hope burning..burning
Note: Please light your Candle of Hope too for them.
In your own little way, you have helped them lighten their load.
Thank you and God bless

Of The Flie At The Candle
hat ails this fly thus desperately to enter
A combat with the candle? Will she venture
To clash at light? Away, thou silly fly;
Thus doing thou wilt burn thy wings and die.
But 'tis a folly her advice to give,
She'll kill the candle, or she will not live.
Slap, says she, at it; then she makes retreat,
So wheels about, and doth her blows repeat.
Nor doth the candle let her quite escape,
But gives some little check unto the ape:
Throws up her heels it doth, so down she falls,
Where she lies sprawling, and for succour calls.
When she recovers, up she gets again,
And at the candle comes with might and main,
But now behold, the candle takes the fly,
And holds her, till she doth by burning die.
Comparison.
This candle is an emblem of that light
Our gospel gives in this our darksome night.
The fly a lively picture is of those
That hate and do this gospel light oppose.
At last the gospel doth become their snare,
Doth them with burning hands in pieces tear.

Candle of Love
He was the fire...the fire to my burning candle
When I first recieved him he lit up my life
His flame burned vibrantly, it burned with care, and
it burned forever
Now that fire that once burned for me won't even
spark for me
Maybe its old, maybe I'm not lighting it right..or
maybe his flame is tired of my candle
