The Allegory Of The Cave In Lesser Words
there is an exit
from the shackles of darkness
from the depths of ignorance
to the liberating light
follow the tunnel of your dreams
awaken from sickening sleep

The Light
(kieran kane/emmylou harris)
I see the light
I see the light at the end of the tunnel
I see the light and its burnin bright
I see the light its the light at the end that I run to
And the light, darlin is you
In the lonely heart of darkness
I have stumbled and I have strayed
Always searchin but never finding
A ray of sunlight to guide my way
I see the light
I see the light at the end of the tunnel
I see the light and its burnin bright
I see the light its the light at the end that I run to
And the light, darlin is you
I have travelled down this highway
Of hope abandoned and broken dreams
An unbeliever my faith was shaken
By all the sorrow I had seen
I see the light
I see the light at the end of the tunnel
I see the light and its burnin bright
I see the light its the light at the end that I run to
And the light, darlin is you
And the light, darlin is you

Dark Light Dark
Living nightmare awake
Solitude unyielding
Forsaken forgotten
Cannot sleep
Cannot dream
Reprieve darkness
Praying sleep
Praying dream
Awake prisoned darkness
Time passes never light
Darkness consuming
Broken lost
Waiting sleep
Waiting dream
Light draws near
Light appears
Shineth deliverance
Warm glimmer hope
Darkness retreats
Happiness surfaces
Thorns gone
Pain fades
Shelter amidst light
Dream envelopes cherish
Dream breaks shattered
Awaken again darkness
Scream pain again
Darkness spinning ruling
Light blackened

Between Heaven And Earth
between heaven and earth
there charlie lives
and he writes about a tunnel
a very creepy tunnel
where the only way to travel
is to crawl your way to the
exit where are the end
a light appears....
enlightenment and awareness
that is what charlie means.

Falling apart
I'm sickening
I'm sickening
Losing my heart
I'm sickening
I'm sickening
Retract
Trying to forget
Trying to protect
5
Crawling this far
I'm sickening
I'm sickening
Soiled and scarred
I'm sickening
I'm sickening
Retract
Lying to subject
Dying to collect
5
I'm coming apart
Finally
Maybe this time I'll forget about you
I've tried
But you keep coming back
Retract
5
I'm coming apart

Final Statement
i have reached the age where
i dont care what anyone says
or thinks about what i do, what
i believe, and what i think and
say... i'm going to do it anyway!
and, damn, it's a liberating feeling.
i do however respect other people's
rights to opinions, thoughts, and beliefs,
and their right to be who they are.
i have no use for ignorance, prejudice,
and judgemental attitudes... i follow
no one, and ask no one to follow me!
my only goal in what time i have left
is to enhance understanding, and spread
the hand of compassion. i dont want
anything from anybody but the truth!
i believe in people!

To Allow It To Manifest
Condoning ignorance,
Does not prepare anyone...
To defend against it.
Even those with an abundant wealth of it,
Have not begun to become haunted,
By the error of their foolish ways.
And to have allowed it to manifest,
As an accepted activity to protect...
Will not ever prove to be,
A decision that has made...
The existence of it cost effective.
Since the price of ignorance,
With its after effects expressed...
By the tolerance of a showing of disrespect,
Has already made its appearance...
Weak on dividends expected.
And an investment now so out of reach,
Many now find too expense to sustain...
As a social disbelief now attacking as if a beast,
That has become much too overwhelming to appease.
And yet there are those still wishing to meet,
With time taken to procrastinate in denial.
Feeling that a doing of this showing of a seriousness,
As a useful benefit to click on a few minds too dim.
Much like a suggestion of a gluing of fallen Autumn leaves,
Back onto tree branches from which they fell.
Proposed sacrastically!
But,
Incredibly enough...
There will be many believing that to be a good idea.
An ignorance deep in depths like this,
Is pointless to make attempts to awaken.
A darkness so embedded,
Will never surface to become enlightened.
No matter who has been appointed,
To control the light switch.
The batteries in some heads are dead.

What Drives You To The End
tears of pain and sorrow continue to fall for what seems forever
no hope of light or happiness can be seen in the distance
only the endless cutting into the heart till it is split open
little possibility of removing the cold sharp knife that cuts on
then light starts forming cracks in the endless tunnel walls
only enough light to leak hope into the dark soul but
not enough to light the tunnel so that it's possible for sight
more and more light leaks into the soal and the pain disapates
warmth and happines fills the body and soal till nothing else matters
then the shadows sneak up while there is nothing blocking it anymore
evil and darkness surrounds the light and blocks it from the sole
the light withdraws back into the cracks and leaves only darkness
darkness that fills the soal and rips up all that is good and continues
the endless dripping pain the pain that reveals that the dark tunnel will
continue on forever a choice is made and the knife is thrust deeper till
all is still and the bleeding stops all together all of it stops forever

I was born for your magazines
For your magazines
I am trapped in the society page
Of your magazines
Of your magazines
I don't know what it means
Do you see light at the end of the tunnel?
At the end of the tunnel?
Do you see light at the end of the tunnel?
At the end of the tunnel?
At the end of the tunnel?

To Be A Poet And Live In The Dark
it is easy for me to understand
why you live in the darkness of your poetry
time does not live there. There is no morning light
to mark the day, and darkness thrives
like a tunnel, without any hint that at the end
there is light.
you live there. You live there for a long, long time
and you shed off your eyes, and hands,
and eventually you lose the sense of a face.
you like it there. It is all emotions. Strong
as a river inside the cave. You may have
lost your eyes, but you have seen more.
You may have lost your hands, but you
are feeling and touching more.
It is the darkness that has provided
you the sense of eternity. There is no
time here. It is dead. And There is no
sense of remembering what had been
there before.
You flow in this darkness like a river
inside a tunnel. The only sound you hear
is the going. The journey with you.

Shackles Of Fear
Shackle bounded
Bounded by shackles
Shackles of fear
They confine these hands
Shackles of fear
They bind these feet
Bound by shackles of fear
My mind is overdosed
My heart it beats slow
My eyes are wide shut
Lord God please
Release these shackles that hold me in captivity
Lord God please
Break these shackles that hinder me
Please God don't let my fear be the end of this journey
I'm shackle bounded
Bounded by shackles of fear
And I fear the release of my bounded shackles
These shackles they hinder me

Doing What I Can
Written by lindsey buckingham.
Falcon sits
Out on grey rock
Slow death shakes
The ticking of the tock
I go to sleep
Things left undone
I go to sleep now
And fly into the sun
Oh, the sun is bright
But too bright to see
When the darkness comes youve got to fly into the light
And what will be will be
Oh, the sun is hot
A man is just a man
When the darkness comes youre got to do with what youre got
Im doing what I can
Laughing in my sleep
Dancing on the stone
Waiting here for something
Something I dont know
Deep in the darkness
I go to sleep
I pray the lord
My soul to keep
Oh, the sun is bright
But too bright to see
When the darkness comes youve got to fly into the light
And what will be will be
Oh, the sun is hot
A man is just a man
When the darkness comes youre got to do with what youre got
Im doing what I can

Ignorance Is To Stay
The knowledge dispels ignorance
As the light expels the darkness.
Yet stay ignorance and darkness.
Knowledge and sunlight just chase them.

Dream On My Pillow
Just suppose that you took my pillow,
Will you let me, in your dreams, follow?
A soul of make-believe, that's me,
Class A, romantic fool, per se
How about, giving me yours to sleep
Will in my sleep, dreams of you I'll keep?
In world of bloom, so beautiful
Flowers for all, so plentiful;
How about, if we both sleep on one?
Seemed better than all sleeping I've done,
Might you think, there's more to whine,
As dreams, of ours, might all entwine?

The Crowning Glory Of Love...
in the end what triumphs
is love,
in the middle of the long journey
hate or indifference is but temporary
it is the impatience that creates it
and the intolerance
of the obscure and the uncertain
this tunnel of a journey
has a light at the end thereof
and there love meets love
on handshakes that you all survived
we finally get out of this tunnel
this cave
of ignorance and greed and hopelessness
and those who endured all these
shall live
with their crowning glories
forever.

Broken Lullaby
Broken Lullaby
By: Adam M. Snow
Awaken the children,
let them see,
all agony's within,
and perhaps just maybe,
they would lose all hope,
all their dreams,
all feelings would cope,
not the moon's shattered beams.
Awaken the infant,
the one who's mild,
as the moon once crescent,
now sings to that child.
All is lost,
so it seems,
like floods of life in frost,
living on shattered dreams.
Sing a broken tune,
so death may come,
all mourns the moon,
and all becomes numb.
Sing this broken lullaby,
so all may hear,
the last tear becomes dry,
as morrow comes near.
Sing and awaken all,
let them see,
how easy it is to fall,
and just let them be,
so they may sleep,
and fix all dreams,
for they're in deep,
as they ride moonlight's beams.

The Path of Hope
The Path of Hope
The Path of Life is layed before you
Life is like a novel…It has elements
It has Characters
It has Settings
It has a Plot
It has Ideals and Morals
Like Friendship and Love
Like Faith and Sacrifice
Like Fate and Destiny
Like Hope and Despair
There are Paths…Paths of your destiny
The Path of Good or The Path of Evil
The Path of Darkness or The Path of Light
The Path of Hope or The Path of Despair
Only you can choose your path
But chose wisely…For you can’t turn back time
You must follow your heart…For it will guide you
Never give up on your dreams
Always Believe…Trust your heart
Don’t let the bad people get you down
Just Believe,
Trust your Heart,
Have Faith in your Dreams,
Have Hope in the Despair,
Follow the Light in the Darkness
Find the Euphoria in the Sorrows,
Trust your Friends,
Follow the Stars…They will Guide you
May the Stars be a Light for you when all other Lights go out
Life is like a Novel…

How Do You Sleep At Night
(jim mcbride/jerry salley)
I havent had a good nights sleep
In weeks now thanks to you
The ghost of broken promises you made
Haunts every room
A hurtin heart cant get no rest round here
I lie awake and wonder how
Your conscience could be clear
How do you sleep at night
Do you toss and turn till the morning light
Does the darkness help
When you lie down with the truth?
How do you sleep at night?
Are you all alone or do you hold someone tight
Do you see me
When you close your eyes?
How do you sleep at night?
Now your side of the beds as cold
As the lies that I believed
Im at the point when I cant even
Trust you in my dreams
Did the way you left me leave you feelin proud?
Or does the loneliness come callin
When the sun goes down?
How do you sleep at night
Do you toss and turn till the morning light
Does the darkness help
When you lie down with the truth
How do you sleep at night
Are you all alone or do you hold someone tight
Do you see me
When you close your eyes
How do you sleep at night
