socialite clouds rest on the top
of Malindang Mountain
the common trees look at them
with envy
the grasses chide that there is no point to this
the clouds are meant to pass
the trees are meant to be cut and burned
and the grasses win.

Things Meant To Be
You can find things meant to be
If you look hard into the sea
As the waves land on the beach
I feel her eyes fixed on me
Through the wind in the trees
Mother nature she speaks
Take what she says
Let your heart do the rest
It's in the wind
It's in the trees
It's in the way you smile
At me
It's in the waves up from the sea
It's in the way you feel
When you're pleased
It's all meant to be
It's all meant to be
Your heart knows where to go
But your mind can take it slow
It's okay to rest your mind
Let your heart seek and find
It's in the wind
It's in the trees
Listen hard and you
Will see
It's in the waves up from the sea
It's in the way you feel
When you're pleased
It's all meant to be
It's all meant to be
These are things just meant to be
These are things like you and me
It's all meant to be
It's all meant to be
These are things just meant to be
These are things like you and me

A Companion On The Impossible...
on finished paths
i shy away, the stones there look the same
but no one is complaining
and all attempts to find new ones
seem to be nothing but a respect for
the trivial,
i am faced with forest trees
those that do not know how a man looks like
or how a woman tastes
all they know are the winds from the sea
and the clouds from across the islands of despair
i do not have a cutter on my hand
and i only have my fingers and tongue
i squat under the sun and begin my work
there is so much to cut and clean
been here for years and there is nothing much
that changed
the trees have grown so tall and cannot even see me
the grasses sheltered more snakes and have their party
i am alone with nothing but hope....
and then you come.

What Would Be The Point
What would be the point,
If a blade of grass
Was not meant to feel,
Its importance?
Would it be inspired to grow?
And to whom and what,
Does it attempt to impress?
Another blade of grass,
That stretches to grow fast
From its seed.
What would be the point,
If no flower bloomed.
To provide the bees,
With no nectar to gather.
To return to a hive.
Does it do this,
To keep itself alive?
What would be the point,
For the trees to exist?
If the leaves that grew from them,
Did not assist in the mixture of air.
That helped us breathe.
Do the trees do this,
To flaunt its deeds?
And what would be the point,
For us to seek love.
If all we did with it was to argue,
Again and again as if to win
Debates,
As to who is more deserving
To appreciate this gift of life?
With a stubbornness to convince,
Who is wrong.
And who is right.
What would be the point,
To argue, fuss and fight
If all of us knew this gift of life,
Was meant.
If not
Who's side of the argument makes sense?
If we all are here,
Getting the same attention.
And perhaps
In getting that attention,
There is envy and jealousy?
And anyone who says they believe with faith
Would observe that God has created abundance.
And those who choose to take and not give,
Seem to the ones self destructing.
At their own expense!
To make what point?

We Were Once There Before
on a moonlit night
the shadows of the coconut trees
and the grasses
and the hut come to my mind
again
and i exclaim
how beautiful are these simple things
above them
purple clouds like a cape
beside a pearl moon
above it
a tiny star like
diamond

Purple World
in a purple world
lavender clouds
a violet day
dusk pool
shadowy trees
black grasses
sickle moon
gray mountains
tiny stars
reflected on the lake
let me ask you
were you there once?

Morning Peace
THE sudden sunbeams slant between the trees
Like solid bars of silver. moonlight kissed,
And strike the supine shadows where they rest
Stretched sleeping; while a timid, new-born Breeze
Stirs through the grasses, petulant—her eyes
Half-blinded by the clinging scarves of mist:
Her robes, that tangled through the grasses twist,
Weave as she moves sweet whispered melodies.
O may it be a morn like this, when slow
From a dark world beneath my soul shall go
Through the wet grasses of a purple plain,
Still stretching broader in the cool, grey glow
Of morning twllight: then my soul shall know
That life and love are lost—and found again!

When You Say Yes To Me
when you say yes
to me
and i say
hurray!
ah! my world has become
my world and your world
has become my world too
the mountains move
the sun brightens and dances
the moon keeps on smiling
the stars keep on winking
the grasses fill the emptiness
the rivers sing
the seas keep on waving
the clouds are not nimbus
ah! whatever that be
i know, that our world shall be
as beautiful as we are meant to be.

When He's In Love Again
the clouds are so blue
the sea so calm and
the night so serene
the leaves have forgotten
to say a rustle and the
skies are whiter
the mountains silent
the trees tall and dignified
the grasses crawl
with the usual determination
the birds are singing
and the grasshoppers are
jumping
inside him rages a very
sweet storm

Walking From Xiamen And Looking At The Blue Sea
East face Jieshi mountain
And gaze blue sea
Water how dancing gently
Mountain island towering
Trees grow thick
Hundred grasses lush
Autumn wind soughs
Big waves rise up
Sun moon their journey
As if from this in
Milky way splendid
As if from this in
Very lucky very lucky oh
Song sing wish
East of Jieshi mountain, I gaze at the blue sea.
The water dances so gently, the mountain island towers.
Trees here grow thick, a hundred grasses are lush.
The autumn wind soughs, great waves rise up.
The path of the sun and moon, seems to come from within.
The splendid Milky Way, seems to come from inside.
Oh, I am so lucky, to be singing my song!

Back To An Old Place
it is summer
scorching summer
season creeping,
grasses are wilting
trees are shedding of
their last leaves,
what i see are bones
of trees,
skeletons of
branches,
the dry wind keeps
blowing the leaves
away,
what i have is this
bald surrounding
emptied of their
essence
beyond me are
brown mountains
vultures are
in the skies
eying for
death as prey
i sit upon a rock
the only rock
left here
i have no cover on
my head
i am half naked
i have no one to talk
to,
they have left this
arid place
a long time ago
i am back
i am telling the
sand soil,
i have something
to write and
tell the world
about it
it is summer
in this vast desert
a long time ago
this was ours
and the trees are green
grasses verdant
butterflies flutter
and innocently
land on our
hands.

The Moutain Cloud
Clouds gather, the monkeys gawk over the trees
With fright, cover their babies on bellies
A lone bird flaps its wings away to nest
The dark clouds gather over the mountain
People point with glee, the drought be would over
Trees sway and dance, the storm so strong
Lightening spits fire with golden streaks
Patter patter, patter patter, heaven gates open
Rivers flow with gusto, farmers sing with passion
As monkeys curse, the birds sleep with glee.

To the flower in the desert.
First, you tell me that this must be done.
I commented, yes, that will be nice.
Second, you suggest that this will be nice in Riza's place.
I suggested otherwise.
It will be better at Nicco's since the trees are taller and
the grasses are greener.
Later, you spread the news. It will be at Nicco's.
Ten answered. They will be there.
Then i got sick. Mother Nature says,
I am not good.
The ought was not done.
The Thing did not push through because as you said,
I was not there, and that
I told you that THIS MUST BE DONE.
i AM just wondering why the OUGHT cannot be done without me?
Am i the wheel of the truck?
Am i the steer of the ship?
Am i the owner of the place where Nicco's trees are growing taller and
his grasses spreading greener?
I am not. I am not the Ought.
Then you said this no time to discuss this matter.
You are in a meeting with God.
You lied. I am not the OUGHT. You schemed me out.
You want be to become the river
where your boats will be sailing.
You lied, It is unfair. I am therefore cutting the water.
I cancel myself. I do not exist.

A Secret To Prosperity!
Wandering clouds not so focused,
For where to rain, it not yet decided,
Running from country to country,
Gathering the seeds that can spray,
People look up for rain, but no clouds,
Bright yellow sun and the blue sky,
The tears of rain in their deepened eyes,
The shopping clouds look down at them,
Clumsy they are and hunger rules them,
The proud clouds with the bounty of water,
Hate these poor people and move quicker,
And there are green mountains with flowers,
The running clouds stop all of a sudden,
For it amazed by the swelling of that woman,
Just start to clear what it stores for many hours,
Heavy rain on the mountain and the river sisters,
Flow down to the civilization, the rich people,
All around, as they know how to save water,
People who are ignorant of importance of forest,
Fell the trees for quick money and luxury,
Those who already felled, know the misery,
The clouds in the sky, know this exactly,
The poor will remain poor, if not sorry,
And to replant the trees quickly.

The July Sky
The sky is pouring all day long,
Water from it's pitch dark pot.
The trees, plants and shrubs so got
Relieved from that scorching hot.
Ah! they said to each other-
Rain is blessings, is not it?
How could one live, happily,
In such painful burning heat?
They all chat and smile and crackle.
Flowers let out sweet fragrance,
The faded greenness then chuckle-
As raindrops start their ballet dance.
We should take rest, can work no more-
The Nimbus clouds discuss with friends,
They labored hard throughout the day.
The lightning, mapping all clouds' ends,
Taking metal scale, he rubs on sky,
Announces-all clouds must take a row.
Whose tasks are left, they stay for now,
The white ones make queue, you can go.
Hearing these words, clouds do the same.
Drizzle starts and blows soothing breeze.
Clouds go back, ending their long game,
The earth, shakes hand with smiling trees

Withered Leaves And Grasses Finally Burned
Summer loneliness
In my mountain
Grows lonelier
When friends
Are gone like
Leaves and grasses
All withered and
Finally burned.

When Man Writes His Life Away
when sadness comes like
an uninvited guests
and when it stays longer
than you can
have it
just be silent
for silence are like seeds
that sprout on the little rains of
your patience
to grow the flowers of hope
when man writes his life away
overwhelmed by so much sorrow
God steps by the door
waits for you
to open it and then when this is done
God embraces you
the sun shines by the window of your house
the birds chirp again on the surrounding trees
the clouds of baby blue
cover the grasses as green as the pines
scented as perfumes
of your love

Actually Some Poems Are Not Meant To Be Understood
forgive me but my poems are not meant to be understood
they are simply meant to be felt
like silk to your hands
just let the feeling slide and it is complete
it is just like a description of something that suddenly passed
you think it is a ghost but it is not
it is just the hush of a wind and it is not driving any point at all
if it refreshes you without thinking of anything at all
and gives you a certain lightness
like you have wings yourself
then the poem has become a poem
it is not meant to be an idea just something
magical and please do not hold it
it is simply meant
to pass and not stay like the wind and the river and
my soul
