Mankind Butoh...
Mankind is trying to figure out how to stand up,
but
they all fall down the stairs.
They are frustrated for a moment.
Then
they move around,
learns their abilities and surroundings
and
gain confidence as they sit upright and smile.
Then through a little ingenuity they hop up. Their legs are weak and they fall down again.
They look at their feett like, 'What's wrong with it? '
Then it dawns on them that they won't get back up those stairs any time soon.
Exasperated, they slump down.

I only just got up

Rilke in Rome
The chance remains of another time
and a life that is not ours...
no, there is not 'more' beauty here than elsewhere -
but there is much beauty here,
for there is much beauty everywhere.
Waters unendingly full of life move along the old aqueducts
into the great city
and dance in the many squares over white stone basins
and spread out in wide spacious pools
and murmur by day
and lift up their murmuring to the night
that is large and starry here and soft with winds.
And gardens are here, unforgettable avenues
and flights of stairs, stairs designed by Michelangelo,
stairs that are built after the pattern
of downward-gliding waters - broadly bringing forth
step out of step in their descent
like wave after wave.
Through such impressions one collects oneself,
wins oneself back again,
and learns slowly to recognize the very few things
in which the eternal endures
that one can love.

I ascended the stairs, stopping on alternative steps.
A memory had cracked the sky,
For the first time in the 4 years since it happened,
It was as if I was shot with a diamond.
There We were Colleen all those years back watching Apocalypse Now,
in my bed,
but not really watching.
I got up and asked you if I could put you in the torture rack.
You stood up, slipped me your underwear, and I lifted you up onto my bare shoulders; gently, spinning around my room
