Losing Hope
the pulp of my past
decays in the lines of my palm
and if my mouth shuts up
because of somethings unswallowable
such as bitterness and unbearable sourness
i then think of you
nights of unease
as frequent as the rain of december
and because of coldness and feelings of
wet rags and moldy shoes on the rack
because of all these
and in a few steps towards a line of bushes
a few glances of clouds and horizons
my hopes are lost as clumsily and
irreparably as
a stone rippling its way to the sea

Somethings Gotta Give
(does the noise in my head bother you)
Cyberotic head explode
Information overload
And I just cant take anymore
And Im gonna break
Somethings gotta give
Somethings gotta give

Somethings gotta give
Digerotic mass appeal
Feels like flesh but tastes unreal
And Im gonna break

When U Love Somebody
I was the one sleepin all alone
When u were at the party
I was the one waitin by the phone
When u were with somebody
Now here u come again with your heart in your hands
Confessin all of your sins, yeah
The same tired line that Ive heard a dozen times
But still Ive got 2 give in
Chorus:
Cuz when u love somebody
Every now and then it might rain
When u love somebody
With every sun shower theres pain
Whenever somethings lost, somethings gained
When u love somebody
When u love someone
U were the one lookin 4 some action
I was just lookin 4 u
Who needs love when u got protection
Quote, unquote your point of view
All my partners say that I need 2 dismiss ya
Until they see u smile (such a pretty smile)
All them fools are buggin cuz they just want your lovin
In the backseat, huh, 4 a little while (but I dont care)
Chorus
(when u love somebody)
(might rain)
Yeah, yea
Check me out on the floor
So what, u got me open
Yeah, do your dance
But Im the one ure dancin 4
And u know this
Round and round, dont stop it
And u know this, yeah, yeah
Up and down, u got it
Cuz when u love somebody (when u love somebody)
Every now and then it might rain (now and then it might rain)
When u love somebody
With every sun shower theres pain
(baby, a little pain, a little pain, yeah)
Whenever somethings lost, somethings gained
(every now and then u got 2 think about what u gain) (think u
Dont? )
When u love somebody (yeah) (when u love somebody)
Every now and then it might rain (might rain)
When u love somebody (pourin down, down on me)
With every sun shower theres pain (come on, wet me rain)
Whenever somethings lost, somethings gained (somethings
Gained)
When u love somebody, yeah
When u love somebody {x7}
(so sweet)
(its complete)
Well (so nice)
(its paradise)
Round and round, dont stop it
Round and round, dont stop the pounds
Cuz a brutha gettin down here lately
Freedom agrees with us all, u see
In a state of mind thats weightless
See, on the quantum tip I flipped on the notion
When the adam split, we got eve
Dualitys now a groupie with a backstage pass
And they aint gonna leave till they get some
From grace we fall
Referring 2 the objects on the wall
Id picture my hat, my coat, my balls
Around and round (round and round) {x2}
Huh, dont stop the pounds (dont stop the pounds)
Yeah, cuz a brutha gettin down here lately
Mm

On Freedoms Lost
ON FREEDOMS LOST
On freedoms lost we dwell, unease,
in rhyme where lines aligned display
reality is rare disease
our children suffer: End of play.
The threat of ‘terror’ some invent -
on freedom lost we dwell, unease,
who’ll circumvent blind government? -
reality is rare disease.
Habeus Corpus handcuffed lies
in rhyme where lines aligned display
ephemeris, Death severs ties
from which all suffer: End of play.

Give Me Back My Rags #1
Give me back my rags
My rags of pure dreaming
Of silk smiling of striped foreboding
Of my cloth of lace
My rags of spotted hope
Of burnished desire of chequered glances
Of skin from my face
Give me back my rags
Give me when I ask you nicely

Orgy
A disease is under my fingernails
It stains me like a tattoo
Back on the rack
Aching w/ time
Your face is familiar
From another crime
And we could swim, we could swim
My little fishes and me
Overgrown senses prickle + spark
The flesh is in the palm of my hand
Back on the rack
Love under will
Your face is familiar
From another kill
A tongue explodes into my mouth
A taste of coma and tears
Back on the rack
My shape of rage
Your face is familiar
From another cage
And we could swim...

Don't Ever Come, O December
Look December
Don't ever come now!
Look, December
Deserts unnumbered have expanded in me.
All my rivers
Are silted with the sands of loneliness.
Now only I
And the weight of my loneliness
Remain together.
Look, December
In your frozen nights
In your sleepless nights
Who will knit dreamlike sweaters?
Who will pick snowflakes falling in the soul?
Look, December
Don't ever come now!
And even if you do come
Don't go to the abodes of the sun
Wearing the snows of your woes.
Don't ever go to my loved ones!
Look, December
Don't ever come now!

Not Mine But Yours...
Nothing grows except the grass.
Nothing leaps into sight except some stone
and what the stone contains and protects.
Here, far from the beach,
far from the place where the water
returns every so often
rusted metal, moldy wood,
the corpse of a dolphin or a turtle.
The wind does not blow with the force
to propel us as far as the promised then.
The minutes that pass become hours
but never days, they become nights
that never agree to be years,
and centuries in which somebody dies
and someone else, who does not know it, yawns.

Weather Hurricane Storms With Good Friends
dark summer storm clouds encase dark horizons
dark summer storm clouds close lost horizons
season of summer storms sweeps in across seas
rains come storms come closing tourist beaches
cold rain hurricane storms threaten new floods
batten down windows close shut tight exit doors
good time to weather storms with life true friends

The Insomniac Who Drew The Head Of A Sheep Wildly On A White Paper
the insomniac's heart is bleeding. she is in pain tonight like the other past night.
she thinks she is dying right on her own bed. changing positions. finding the right way to sleep. she could not find it. she is lost in the darkness of this loneliness. she goes naked towards the refrigerator to get a cold glass of water.
ice cubes. water rushing to the glass. clicking sound of glass and another glass.
coldness rushing to her esophagus. Coldness multiplying in her burning heart. her blankets burning. She could not sleep tonight. She gets a white paper, a pen and begings to scribble her life: wildly, some lines run. Shaping the head of a sheep. one. two. three. four. five. Five eyes. She stops. She needs five eyes to see everything. Awake. The ceiling where the lizards grow to become alligators on the plywood swamp. No grasses but cobwebs of sleepy spiders.
Five Jacks are hidden on the ears. On the ears are hairs of corn. Blonde. On the nose are paper clips. With them, she is cruel. Then she hides a bull inside her pharynx, the one that shits inside her mouth. She stinks. The bull makes a call for desire. For lust. She closes it with the prison wall of her teeth and gums and lips. Her lips are sealed now. All the five eyes are open throughout the night. Looking for love. Love is not found. Her heart bleeds. Stains of blood penetrate the white paper.
She had not slept for five nights. She will add another five eyes. She knows
if this happens again and again, she will die. She pretends that she is strong.
She will not forget these nights. Preludes to her death. She writes some hieroglyphics all over the empty spaces of the white paper. She will not forget
what each line and curve and sharp edges mean. She codes them. She writes the date 9.2.2008.
She does not put her name. It is enough that no one knows and remembers.

I Can't Let Go
When do I begin,
To say 'enough'.
And let what has troubled me in the past,
End!
What addicts me to revisit,
Emotions still raw...
To self inflict?
Only I seem to sit,
Prepared and ready for conflict.
Holding onto a bitterness,
I can't let go.
Although I must quit!
What initiated it?
I don't remember that at all.
I do, however, recall wanting to play baseball.
And 'someone' shouting,
'He's too young!
He can't hold the bat!
And besides that...
That kid is too small! '
When do I begin,
To say 'enough'.
And let what has troubled me in the past,
End!
Especially those things that happened in grade school.
When I wanted to fit in,
With the other children!
'Uh, grandpa?
Snap out of it!
You'll be fine.
Somethings take a little bit longer than others.
But you will be okay! '
Too SMALL?
I'll show them!
Note:
Some of us 'do' harbor ill feelings for far too long!
Maybe beyond the ridiculous!

Finish Line
Wind blows snow outside my windows
Crowd below runs wild in the streets
Two rented brothers race down two separate alleys
Heading for the finish line
Down in the train yard out by the stockyard
Butchers with aprons hack meat in the snow
Blood has the brothers pulsing with envy
Heading for the finish line
Two rented brothers. their faces keep changing
Just like these feelings I have for you
And nothings forever not even five minutes
When youre headed for the finish line
Down in the depot out by the meat rack
Down by the tunnels surrounding the jail
Prisoners are marching in squares and in circles
Theyre heading for the finish line
Theyre lining up for noahs ark
Theyre stabbing each other in the dark
Saluting a flag made of some rich guys socks
Heading for the finish line
Close to the line the ice is cracking
Two rented feelings sitting in the stands
Two mothers, two fathers and both of them are paid for
All of a sudden it comes back to me
Just up ahead is the finish line
Two rented referees and two checkered rags
Out of the corner of my eye comes a dark horse with black wings
Headed for the finish line
Im five years old the room is fuzzy
I think theres also a very young girl
Its hard to remember what happened exactly
As Im staring at the finish line
First came fire then came light
Then came feeling then cane sight

What of Your Time?
What of the grass or the lilies
The spacious sky of milky blue
Everyday, passing by as usual
It's nothing new...nothing new
What of the soft summer breezes
The heavy downpour of the rain
Those nights when the dogs howl
Or those mornings the birds sing
What of the first feelings of love
The warm, delightful caresses of
His mouth against your mouth
Fitting your lover's hand like a glove
What of the cool air, the hot beaming sun
The times you've lost, the times you've won
Times you've laughed until you cried tears
What of your time here all these years

A Pigeon
I've picked up your name from the floor
and held it for long on the palm of my hand
watching it gently peck its lines
until there remained nothing not a single crumb
and your name well fed slept for a while
in lines of death in lines of life
in lines of the head and lines of the heart
in intricate patterns that sealed me for too long
there was a lullaby I wanted to sing
but I was not able to open my mouth
for fear you'll wake up and disappear
and I promised myself I would never dropp you again

The Sun?
They exhaled air with might
Driving the loathed clouds away
That concealed the SUN
For they had enough
Of darkness, penetrating coldness
Enough of anguish.
The clouds forcibly blown away
The new day came into view
Mirth gripped the masses
As the naked sun rose vividly
Sunbathing era for all had come.
Amazement holds them mute
As the sun emits fatal heat
Faces perspire, contort with pain
Vegetation, streams, rivers dry
Huts turn into infernos
Providing sanctuary to none.
Tongues spit regrets
Of what use in the sun?
We loathed the clouds
For darkness, coldness, sufferance.
We loathe the sun
For its unbearable hotness
What a sad dilemma! !

Azra
(A heartiest tribute of Sarwar Sultan to his deceased wife who a year after also passed away; the poem has been translated by Muhammad Shanazar)
It was December, she and I,
December has come again,
Who knows how many December
Will come and depart,
She can not come back
And I can not die yet.
It was December when I took her
On the fog-wrapped rocks,
It was December when I took her
On the bank of a blue lake,
It was December when I took her
On the high mountains
Amid the tall palm trees,
And it was December when I took her
On the bank of a rushing river.
Whatever the season is,
She always accompanies me,
I know not where to fragrance
Of her soared,
All of sudden on one day,
She went to where she had hailed from,
She can not come back,
And I can not die yet,
Now December becomes a wound
And spring imparts to it a tormenting pain.

Love Lost
LOVE LOST
Love lost spreads frost where once was light,
Or rime which rhyme's frieze turns to freeze,
Vista's visa parodies
Enchantment, past of pure delight.
Lovelorn, wings shorn, heart feels bite
Of cold, sold short, caught in unease
Scorning romance's fallacies,
Turning yearning into spite.
Love lost with bitterness agrees,
Or poison for both biter, bite,
Venom self-destructive quite,
Eden expels, discards its keys.
LOst should be found as founding faith
STorm weathering, not wasted wraith...

All About You
(v. peterson)
Vicki
You were so amused when I made myself available
You had to ask if it was all intentional
Well somethings going on, on and on
Somethings going on, going on and on
Im finding out all about you
The sun is hiding and the car is running badly
I know only one way a friend should kiss a friend goodbye
But somethings going on, on and on
Somethings going on, going on and on
Im finding out all about you
Youre taking it all to hard, Ive nothing left to fight you with
All your pretty things are merely to create the myth
That somethings going on, on and on
Somethings going on, going on and on
Im finding out all about you
Yeah somethings going on, on and on
Somethings going on, going on and on and
Im finding out all about you, yeah
Im finding out all about you

The Kiss The Tongue And The Twitting Bird....
when you get near me when you
press your lips against mine, you shall feel the coldness of my dawn,
you keep your mind open like eyes staring at the sun,
yet what you see is still the haze, the fog hanging by the mountain
since it has always been a very cold day,
when you put your tongue inside my mouth, you feel the rain rushing
making a river of rippling waters and it is the force inside that
you will feel
you close your eyes and trace where it is going, and you shall know
that every dropp of rain that makes this river
is always going away from you away from us, and you start to browse
over the silence of the my day, and you shall find that this day is an
empty page where all my words have already been erased because i do not want you to know anymore what i feel and who i am,
i am detached, i am numb, and i do not wish to know what love is all about and where it is going,
i just like to hear a bird twitting alone on that old tree.
whatever is it that it is singing, i do not really care.
for what i know is that i am alive, and for what purpose, who cares?
