Licking The Drops Of Reality From Your Feet

there is free ride
to the fantasies of another

you do not oppose an image
you follow the dictate of color and scent

you arrive at wonderlands
and be met by fairies

it is the other that needs it
not you

you bring the camera and
take shots of impressions

in fantasy time is limited
remember Cinderella

the flying horse takes you
back home

you comfort fantasy
it is crying

then you walk towards a door
that opens you towards home

your feet are hurt on the nails
on the floors protruding

you bleed and lick the blood
from your toes

you taste reality and like it
you open the door of your room

blood drops and stains all over
you know what sleep is from now on

The Image

Written by: richard marx & fee waybill
Hope you dont believe a word
Of all the things I know youve heard about me
Really just a pack of ies
You see the truth before your eyes around me
Hard to keep it straight
The real from the ruse
Probably way too late
What can I do, but its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Its just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
Would it be too much to ask
That you could just gvie me the chance to prove it
Or would it only be a waste of time
To try to make you change your mind and use it
What Ive been looking for
Isnt what I thought
Not behind the golden door
Youre all Ive got, and its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see
Its just the image
Its all on a string
All fantasy
Not really me
Its just the image
What Ive been looking for
Isnt what I thought
Not behind the golden door
Youre all Ive got, and its
Not what you think
Not what you hear
Not what you see

Flesh For A Fantasy

There's a change in pace
Of fantasy and taste
Do you like good music?
Do you like to dance? Oh yeah.
Hangin' out for a body shop at night
Ain't it strange what we do to feel alright? Oh yeah.
So when will you call?
I'm experienced Oh yeah
Face to face
And back to back
You see and feel
My sex attack
Sing it
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
It's after midnight
Are you feelin' alright oh yeah
Turn on the light, babe
Are you someone else tonight?
Neighbour to neighbour, door to door
Don't ask questions, there's time for it all Oh yeah.
Face to face
And back to back
You see and feel
My sex attack
Sing it
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We cry
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
I sing for culture...
Father loves his son,
Mothers, daughters, too.
It's an old old story,
Cries the new world too.
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
We want
Flesh, flesh for fantasy
You cry
Flesh, flesh for fantasy

So Much Depends On This Experience

one night when you arrive home
it is you that opens the garage

you have to step out of the car
and expose yourself to this inevitable coldness of a nightfall

no one is home
tonight

when you open the door using your own duplicate key
you switch on the light

no one is home tonight
the garage and house is now well lighted

you close the door and all the windows
you go straight to your bedroom
&
switch on the air-conditioner

you feel the arrival of a very cold packet of wind
from the tip of your feet
and it arrives like a jackal
as you begin to imagine it to be like

the one that you read in those horror books
it howls so loud trying to break the tympanum of your ears
and it is going to bite you
with its sharp eyes and teeth

but there is something so wrong with you:

you are not afraid, you do not mind jackals,
and now you are ready to bite this crazy one

you like this cold, and you smell the frost
you lick it

there is something so wrong with you:
you are aroused, and you do not like to sleep at all.

Despised And Rejected

My sun has set, I dwell
In darkness as a dead man out of sight;
And none remains, not one, that I should tell
To him mine evil plight
This bitter night.
I will make fast my door
That hollow friends may trouble me no more.

'Friend, open to Me.'—Who is this that calls?
Nay, I am deaf as are my walls:
Cease crying, for I will not hear
Thy cry of hope or fear.
Others were dear,
Others forsook me: what art thou indeed
That I should heed
Thy lamentable need?
Hungry should feed,
Or stranger lodge thee here?

'Friend, My Feet bleed.
Open thy door to Me and comfort Me.'
I will not open, trouble me no more.
Go on thy way footsore,
I will not rise and open unto thee.

'Then is it nothing to thee? Open, see
Who stands to plead with thee.
Open, lest I should pass thee by, and thou
One day entreat My Face
And howl for grace,
And I be deaf as thou art now.
Open to Me.'

Then I cried out upon him: Cease,
Leave me in peace:
Fear not that I should crave
Aught thou mayst have.
Leave me in peace, yea trouble me no more,
Lest I arise and chase thee from my door.
What, shall I not be let
Alone, that thou dost vex me yet?

But all night long that voice spake urgently:
'Open to Me.'
Still harping in mine ears:
'Rise, let Me in.'
Pleading with tears:
'Open to Me that I may come to thee.'
While the dew dropped, while the dark hours were cold:
'My Feet bleed, see My Face,
See My Hands bleed that bring thee grace,
My Heart doth bleed for thee,
Open to Me.'

So till the break of day:
Then died away
That voice, in silence as of sorrow;
Then footsteps echoing like a sigh
Passed me by,
Lingering footsteps slow to pass.
On the morrow
I saw upon the grass
Each footprint marked in blood, and on my door
The mark of blood for evermore.

No Smoke No Bottle For Fantasies

My oracy is in shambles when you appear
Spellbound my words stumble over hurdles near,
Placed by the striking beautiness of your beauty
No smoke no bottle, only the genie- s- for fantasies duty,
The concierge I am I hand you your key
You see a uniform and smile and look thru me,
You ride the lift to heaven in this shimmering tower
I dream my fantasy; you wait in your heavenly bower.
But wait,
The room phone buzzes, ‘Yes, concierge, yes your purse
I see it, certainly I will bring it now’, my thoughts I nurse,
I press the code in the lift to fly to the top floor,
Eternity passes time stands still before I tap on her door
Clouds appear, the moon whispers my heart pumps.
The door opens, I extinguish my gulps
Shivers, this goddess stands tall with a diamond crown,
Dressed for the kill in a black see thru naughty nighty gown,
I step into my fantasy my life no longer hanging
But wait whats that banging,
Bang bang bang!
Johnny get out of bed its seven am
Wake up you have to be at work by 7.30 am,
Wake up you look as though you are in a dream
The Rockefeller’s are back, their daughter will beam
Their penthouse must shine by the concierge team,
Take note from no other, I’m your loving mother!

When I Sleep

When I sleep
Where do I go
I go where
The Blue bird
Is red
Where
Red
Is
Blue
In the head
And the door
Opens on
A red sky
When I sleep
Where do I go
I go where
There is no where there
And the door
Have eyes
To see
Its opening
When I open
My sleep
I am there
Where I am not
And blue drops
Into a red pool
When I sleep
All my theres
Open in the head
And the door
Is blue
And new
And opens nightly
To a where
When I loose
Myself
To all my
Blues and reds
You may think
That I am dead
In my head
But I am much
Alive
When I sleep
Where do I go
I fain not to know.

Between My Horse's Wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
The wind rushing forcefully
Through my long dark hair
The feel of the cool air
Beneath the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy
The muscles work powerfully
To drive us into the night
The stars wink like little lights
Above the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
As I ride over the ocean and sea
My muscles tense as I hold
My skin red from the windy cold
Flowing past the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
I revel in this dangerous ecstasy
A silvery mane blows in my face
Blown back, by the wind we race
Born on by the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
As we fly through the air swiftly
My face is lifted toward the sky
Arms outstretched, wind rushing by
The beating of the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
Faster and faster, we seem to fly
The wind tugging at my body
As I look to the heavenly bodies
Shining on the horse’s wings

Is this real, or is this fantasy?
My horse flies gracefully
Over the fields and streams
Are these things only my dreams?
Sitting between the horse’s wings

No Attachments

the room where you sleep
does not take hold of you

your bed cannot be part of your skin
and your windows are nothing but

the ordinary closing and opening
of your day

you like a door that opens
to nowhere

you have diamonds in your hands
you spread them

in the garden and you see
how they all glitter for a while

darkness folds and
light of another day opens

you take a walk and whistle
you don't remember the color of the blanket

you forget what warmth was there on that bed
you do not care whether the windows are closed or open

you move to another house
and tell your stories all over again

there is no blink in your eyes
there is no stammering in your tongue

you do not tell them what you love
there are no hands too familiar to hold you back

Young Blood

i saw her standing on the corner
A yellow ribbon in her hair
I couldn't keep myself from shouting
Look - a - there
Look - a - there
Look - a - there
Look - a - there
Young blood
Young blood
Young blood
I can't get you out of my mind
I took one look and i was fractured
I tried to walk but i was lame
I tried to talk but i just stuttered
What's your name
What's your name
What's your name
What's your name
Young blood etc.
What crazy stuff
She looked so tough
I had to follow her all the way home
Then things went bad
I met her dad
He said
You better leave my daughter alone
I couldn't sleep a wink for trying
I saw the rising of the sun
And all night long my heart was crying
You're the one
You're the one
You're the one
You're the one
Young blood etc. (twice)

Posers Pay.

They say the camera never lies.
But you may find to your surprise,
not only that they can but do.
Glamour shots are seldom true.
They have been air brushed probably
to change the image that you see
and alter the reality
to cater to sheer vanity.
If you’re prepared to pay his fee.
I’m sure the snapper will agree
To airbrush out each small defect
Which makes you look less than perfect.
Of course the camera does not lie
it just fulfils your fantasy.

You Can Hide It

Now you have been staring at the sun for a while
Is it hurting your eyes
I know you want to put those shades on
And walk on home with a tan
To arrive and leave with style

But didn't a warm wind blow right through you
Melting the ice
I know you want to put those shades on
And walk on home as planned
But stand still for a while

You can hide it
You can fight it
But blood red color won't fade in time
You can hide it
You can fight it
Those red stains of love will remind your heart now

I'm having a hard time understanding your needs
When I look into your eyes
I see you want me to put up or shut up
What if I did
Could you leave without that style

You keep biting the hands that feeds
When I look into your eyes
I see you want to eat up

A Case Of You

A case of you
Just before our love got lost you said
I am as constant as a northern star
And I said, constant in the darkness
Wheres that at?
If you want me Ill be in the bar
On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue tv screen light
I drew a map of canada
Oh canada
And your face sketched on it twice
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
And I would still be on my feet
Oh Id still be on my feet
Oh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
Im frightened by the devil
And Im drawn to those ones that aint afraid
I remember that time that you told me, you said
Love is touching souls
Surely you touched mine
Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time
Oh you are in my blood like holy wine
And you taste so bitter but you taste so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you
I could drink a case of you darling
Still Id be on my feet
And still be on my feet
I met a woman
She had a mouth like yours
She knew your life
She knew your devils and your deeds
And she said
Color go to him, stay with him if you can
Oh but be prepared to bleed
Oh but you are in my blood youre my holy wine
Oh and you taste so bitter, bitter and so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you darling
Still Id be on my feet
Id still be on my feet
Mmmmmmm

Dreamer

Ive got a dollar deal hidden
Down in my shoe
So listen friends
I tell you what Im gonna do
Im gonna run up
The road of mystery
Hangin by a thread to a fantasy
A background black
Showing my face
Buried in the image
Of an empty space
Im back on my feet
Getting no sleep
Makin it all mine
Give me a chance
To follow the bands
Waitin for the sunshine
Husslin my will
In a bar downtown
And f it dont work out now
ll keep movin around and around ...
Tll Im back on my feet
Getting no sleep
Makin it all mine
Give me a chance
To follow the bands
Im waitin for the sunshine, yeah
A dreamer, a dreamer
Hangin around
A dreamer, a dreamer
Trying to hitch a ride
A dreamer, a dreamer
Hangin around
A dreamer, a dreamer
When I turn my back
Youre by my side
Well I fought my way
Through the back-stage door
Staring at my goal
Till my eyes get sore
And working my way
Through the little I say
Caring no less just
The light of the day
A background black
Showing my face
Buried in the image
Of an empty space
Im back on my feet
Getting no sleep
Makin it all mine
Give me a chance
To follow the bands
Im waitin for the sunshine, yeah
Just a dreamer ...
When I turn by back
Youre by my side
Dreamer ...

The Quiet Room

(Alice Cooper / Bernie Taupin / Dick Wagner)
The California air
Your nightgown on the stairs
I remember every night
Scenes from home in the Quiet Room
How long have I been gone
Did winter kill the lawn
And all those polaroids you sent
Are on the wall in the Quiet Room
They've got this place
Where they've been keeping me
Where I can't hurt myself
I can't get my wrists to bleed
Just don't know why
Suicide appeals to me
The Quiet Room
Is sterilized and white
It's like a tomb
With just a moth stained naked night
Plastic forks and spoon
No laces in my shoes
They allknow what I tried to do
Outside the Quiet Room
This quiet place
It ain't so new to me
It's haunted atmosphere
Has heard so many scream
My home from home
My twilight zone
My strangest dream
My confidant
I have confessed my life
The Quiet Room
Knows more about me than my wife
They've got this place
Where they've been keeping me
Where I can't hurt myself
I just can't
I just can't get these damn wrists to bleed
A mattress on the floor
No handles on the door
I really need nothing here
I'm alone

Spring Sleep

Pillow low quilt warm body smooth and steady
Sunshine room door cloth not open
Still have young spring air taste
Often brief arrive sleep at come
The pillow's low, the quilt is warm, the body smooth and peaceful,
Sun shines on the door of the room, the curtain not yet open.
Still the youthful taste of spring remains in the air,
Often it will come to you even in your sleep.

Murder is a Colorful Thing

Red is the color of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Orange is the color of her stained shirt because of the red of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Yellow is the color of her shirt before it was stained orange because of the red of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Green is the color of her stomach as I cut her tummy open through her once yellow shirt stained orange because of the red of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Blue is the color of the happy sky while I cut into the green of her tummy through her once yellow shirt now stained orange because of the red of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Violet is the color of my swollen face from crying under the blue happy sky while I cut into the green of her tummy through her once yellow shirt now stained orange because of the red of the blood splashed on the walls of my home.

Murder is a colorful thing...
