It Is Time To Say Something Briefly And Concisely

oh yes
since you asked
i accept
that sometimes
quitters
also win
a lot.

Winners Never Quit

I met a man once who was clever and witty,
He could make up a story in a jiffy,
He told me he wrote a horror book,
But it got rejected after one look,
And I said:
Please do as you dream, I implore,
Find a different publisher that’ll like your lore,
Because quitters never win.

I met a little girl once who was kind and cute,
She used to do ballet but she got the boot,
Said she loved dancing but wasn’t talented,
She had no grace is what she said,
And I said:
Try again and you’ll be the best,
Don’t give up and you’ll be impressed,
Because quitters never win.

I met an elderly couple once who were in love,
They wanted to marry but didn’t have the shove,
They believed that a ceremony would make them ridicule,
And that they’d be known as old fools,
And I said:
Why should age stand between your fallen star?
You should be proud to show off who you are,
Because quitters never win.

Now I’m in a struggle to win my dream,
Everything is confusing and not as it seems,
But I know everything will turn out okay,
As long as I go hard every day,
Because I say:
Dreams can be won if you don’t quit on them,
You’ll win if you’re brave enough to balance on the hem,
Because quitters never win but winners never quit.

Change

The other day I walked accross the street
i couldnt believe what I appeared to see...
as I looked at a poor boy who came to me
I asked him his name and he didnt know
he just asked me for change.

I asked where is your mum?
he just asked me for change
I asked where is your dad?
he just asked me for change
I asked will someone come?
he just asked me for change
I asked why are you sad?

with no response to my question there was a pause...

but then once again he asked me for change
see, as i watched him dissapear with his pain
I realised that he actualy asked me...

for a change.

One for Ramana

The thunder asked
what is lightning?

The root asked
why is a flower?

The pupil asked
who is the teacher?

The space asked
where is everyone?

The circle asked
when is the end?

The stillness asked
whence word?

Experience Is God

I asked, ‘What comes with birth? '
Born and see, God ordered!
I asked, ‘What is said to be education? '
Study and see God ordered!

I asked, ‘What is knowledge? '
Know and see God ordered!
I asked, ‘What is kindness? '
Be kind and shower, God ordered!

I asked, ‘What is love? '
Share with others, God ordered!
I asked, ‘What pleasure do you get from wife? '
Marry and experience, God ordered!

I asked, ‘Who is child to you? '
Get a child for you, God ordered!
I asked, ‘What is old age? '
Become old and observe God ordered!

I asked, ‘What is poverty? '
Toil and see God ordered!
I asked, ‘What happens after death? '
Die and see God ordered!

If anyone wants to know what is life,
And he has to experience and know,
Then why are you, GOD?

GOD said, ‘O' poor man,
The experience itself is ME!

Lazy Derrières

Visual success attracts!
It is the 'show and tell' aspect,
That gains respect many accept!

A lifetime of hard work,
And rejecting failure and disappointment...
Doesn't reflect on the brows of those who sweat!
As they clarify their 'visions' alone without regret!

To themselves,
Are the ones toiling on dreams to come!
Very few of them sit like quitters...
Expecting wishes to them appear!
Out of thin air!
To receive with flair.
As many who do this...
Complain of the wait,
On their spreading lazy derrières!

It takes more than talk,
To see a 'baby' from birth...
Crawl before it walks!
And proud of each step taken.
Before it realizes...
What can be achieved!
Awakened.
What can happen and be accomplished.
What these efforts produced...
Rewards will be received!
If one believes it 'IS' in reach!
If off of their behinds they leave to beseech!

I Told Myself

I told myself
You do love me
Is it really true?
She asked me

I told myself
You care for me
Are you really sure?
She asked me

I told myself
You do miss me
As often as you?
She asked me

I told myself
You need me too
Are you guessing?
She asked me

I told myself
You never tell me
Why on Earth?
She asked me

I told myself
You hide a lot…
Is that friendship?
She asked me

I told myself
You think too much
Does he not feel?
She asked me

Tell me, my love
What shall I say?
To all those queries
That she asked me...

How should I answer?
What should I ponder?
Tell me the truth
For she still asks me...

You For Me
And Me For You
Is it the Future?
One last Question
She did ask me.

I don’t have the answers
Yet she keeps asking me…
May be, she knows,
One day, one moment
You’ll let her know
How you feel for me...

Accept my sympathy

In all sincerity
It is a pathetic pity
I merely offer sympathy
With such velocity
This sadness born out of the blue
That decides to levy itself on you

In your fixed stillness
I sense your illness
Accept my sympathy

You lost a pet
Somebody made you upset
Accept my sympathy

You lost a friend
Your broken heart is yet to mend
Accept my sympathy

You were once abused
Possibly at times wrongly accused
Accept my sympathy

You marriage is on the rocks
You got divorced, left without a buck
Accept my sympathy

You lost a fortune
Your voice can't sing a decent tune
Accept my sympathy

You lost in love or lost your job
Or perhaps at one stage got robbed
Accept my sympathy

Your life is a mess
Everything around you depresses

Whatever the circumstances
Accept my sympathy
And if I happen to show no sympathy
Please accept my sympathy!

Guesses....

must i have to pretend
that the first one was true?

could be, most likely
could be, i nodded and then

i too, shook my head,
but granting

you think that it was true
and i must believe you

and then it was over
and then came the second time

just a game, people play games,
like kids, could be one of those games

i play, and i want to quit, but who can?
and it was over, and we want to forget it

just the same, the third one came
and with more experience

more meanings are tried to be
attached, like some strings,

and again, like all things with ends,
it too was over, we got it over and over again

and then, just like old things, we forget,
we tried to remember, but powerless

are we, we are not quitters, we are winners,
we keep saying, we are winners,

and then gray hairs occupied our
black territories, and then

we surrender, we accept, we forget
and we try to remember again

everything is over, like a game,
everything ends, like the world,

like life, befriending death
befriending everybody, saying yes and yes

and yes, and then we approach
the bed, and utter the last word,

thanks, it is over.
now, shall you leave me? i am at rest.

Accept It

Life is hard.
Accept it.

Momentary pleasures
Come and go…
Accept it.

Death evades you
When you need it the most.
Accept it.

Thoughts of death
Come and go…
Accept it.

This And That

I ASKED FOR BREAD!
A STONE THEY GAVE ME!
I ASKED FOR WATER!
A CUP OF VENOM THEY GAVE ME!
I ASKED FOR MEAT!
LO! VEGETABLES THEY GAVE ME!
I ASKED FOR CLOTHES!
AND THEY GAVE ME RAGS!
I ASKED FOR WEALTH!
AND THEY GAVE ME POVERTY!
I ASKED FOR PEACE!
AND THEY GAVE ME TROUBLES!
I ASKED FOR LOVE!
AND THEY GAVE ME WICKEDNESS!
TEMPT NOT THIS LORD!
ASK ME NOT FOR HELP!
FOR I SHALL GIVE TO YOU AS YOU GAVE TO ME!
TEMPT ME NOT I SAY!
ASK ME NOT FOR THIS!
FOR I SHALL GIVE YOU THAT!

A competitor will find a way to win. Competitors take bad breaks and use them to drive themselves just that much harder. Quitters take bad breaks and use them as reasons to give up. It's all a matter of pride.

Charles R. Swindoll

People who soar are those who refuse to sit back, sigh and wish things would change. They neither complain of their lot nor passively dream of some distant ship coming in. Rather, they visualize in their minds that they are not quitters they will not allow life's circumstances to push them down and hold them under.

Reading The Signs

Something's not quite right,
something's missing or gone.
It feels as though she's here,
but her soul has moved on.

I don't seem to be able to touch
what I used to touch before.
I have no idea what it is
but it's missing for sure.

I've asked if she loves me,
and she said of course,
but I can't see it in her eyes
or hear it in her voice.

I think that she's gone off me
and doesn't want to break my heart.
She's hoping I'll get fed up with her
and be the one to make us part.

It's all over bar the shouting,
but should I make it easy or make it hard.
As a ploy, if I asked her to marry me,
will she admit the weakness of her heart.

However, I could end up in trouble,
she may change her mind and accept,
and there's no way I'm getting married,
so I better end it, alas with deep regret.
