Curl
You curl, you know how to curl,
Yes you know a curl in your hair
And you curl yourself like a
Hair, in your bed,
It is so cold and no one
Sleeps here
No one comes
There is no hello
As guest and no
Hi to pretend
You are coming
Well, you curl, you know how to curl,
Like your hair,
This time, curl forever,
Nothing straight till the end,
Eternal curl,
Still
Touch it
It bounces and rebounces,
touch it again,
and be silent

Curl Up
Curl up beside me
whisper in my ear
all the love between us
such passion so my dear
Curl up beside me
and never let me go
you fill my life with pleasure
oh, how I love you so
Curl up beside me
My one and only love
Curl up beside me
you fit me like a glove

Alone with Silence
I walk alone away from the crowd
Often lost in my thoughts
Often lost in my silence
I want to curl up, curl up again,
Curl up till I am lost within
Invisible to myself
Never to be seen again
Never to be heard again
To be lost in silence
To celebrate silence
To converse with silence
Alone I walk with my silence

Sonnet XIX: The Soul's Rialto
The soul's Rialto hath its merchandise;
I barter curl for curl upon that mart,
And from my poet's forehead to my heart
Receive this lock which outweighs argosies,--
As purply black, as erst to Pindar's eyes
The dim purpureal tresses gloomed athwart
The nine white Muse-brows. For this counterpart,...
The bay-crown's shade, Belovèd, I surmise,
Still lingers on thy curl, it so black!
Thus, with a fillet of smooth-kissing breath,
I tie the shadows safe from gliding back,
And lay the gift where nothing hindereth;
Here on my heart, as on thy brow, to lack
No natural heat till mine grows cold in death.

That Gets Me
It's the way you twist a curl into your hair
As you sit there unaware of how beautiful you are
It's the music that I always seem to hear
When you bring yourself to tears from laughing way too hard
And when we're slowly dancing you slip off your shoes
Don't you know, baby, just like everything you do
That gets me, that just gets me every time
right here inside this heart of mine
You open up your world and lay your love out on the line
That gets me, that just gets me every time
It's the way you say your prayers before you sleep
Then you curl up next to me and we hold each other close
And you tell me with your eyes that you'll never let me go
And that may be the moment that I love the most
When you make me feel like no other man exists
And when I taste the power and surrender of your kiss

Alone
There came to me softly a small wind from the sea.
And it lifted a curl as it passed by me.
But I sang sorrow and ho the heavy day!
And I sang heigho and well-away!
Again there came softly a small wind from the sea,
And it lifted a curl as it passed by me.
And still I sang sorrow and ho the heavy day!
And I sang heigho and well-away!
Once more there came softly that small wind from the sea,
And it lifted a curl as it passed by me.
I hushed my song of sorrow and ho the heavy day,
And I hushed my heigho and well-away.
Then, when I was silent, that small wind from the sea,
It came the fourth time tenderly to me;
To me, to me,
Sitting by the sea,
Sitting sad and solitary thinking of thee.
Like warm lips it touched me-that soft wind from the sea,
And I trembled and wept as it passed by me.

Surreal
On your own, when it all goes wrong, like you're in jail
Torn in two, threw the blame at you
Night met reveals
There is no guarantee, what crazy heart like me
Should I go curl up and die?
Surreal
Precious time is slipping away
Revealed
Don't go wishing your life away
Unreal
A fortune can spend it on anyway
A steal
Precious time is running away
One line folds and the next strikes gold
Finds me in jail
Try to run gotta buy me some free time and bail
There is no guarantee fool for a hangmans tree
Should I go curl up and die
Surreal
Precious time is slipping away
Revealed
Don't go wishing your life away
Unreal
A fortune can spend it on anyway
A steal
Precious time is running away
There is no guarantee, what crazy fool like me
Should I go curl up and die?

The Fits of Weather
Sunlight on a snake in between the
Rabbits and the caesuras:
And it seems that she has the sunlight in her eyes,
Like the birthday candles of good luck,
While the airplanes curl and caracole:
And Sharon never looked so beautiful, even though
Now I hardly have to think of her,
Because I have different pains that are more impending,
And I house I come home to be alone in,
While my pets move in the north, waiting for me with
More faith that I will ever have:
And the snake looks away to other pornographies
Waiting for little boys in the abandoned cars of their
Drunken fathers:
And he goes to her, and they curl around for awhile,
Dancing,
While I wait for the fits of weather that I am sure are
Just around the bend.

Ooo Baby Your Mojo Overloads
My blood boils,
And my pressure rises.
My heart thumps,
And my throat gets lumpy.
My legs feel weak,
And my feet can't lead me.
I want to go,
But I'm moping like a dope!
Ooo baby your mojo overloads.
Whatever it is,
You've got me snacking on that!
And,
Ooo baby your mojo overloads.
My toes curl up,
And you've got my opened nose!
My blood boils,
And my pressure rises.
My heart thumps,
And my throat gets lumpy.
My legs feel weak,
And my feet can't lead me.
I want to go,
But I'm moping like a dope!
Like a yo-oh-oh-yo!
Oh baby your mojo overloads.
Whatever it is,
You've got me snacking on that!
And,
Ooo baby your mojo overloads.
My toes curl up,
And you've got my opened nose!
Say,
Ooo baby your mojo overloads.
Whatever it is,
I want to snack on that!
Ooo baby your mojo overloads.
My toes curl up,
And you've got my opened nose!
My toes curl up,
And I know they show!
Ooo baby you're a mojo overloadah.
Like a smoke shoulder cooking,
Rotated and rolled.
Ooo baby you've got my heart and took over.
My toes curl up,
And I know they show!
Ooo baby you're a mojo overloadah.
Like a smoke shoulder cooking,
Rotated and rolled.
Ooo baby you've got my heart and took over.
My toes curl up,
And I know they show!
Ooo baby you're a mojo overloadah.
I'm afraid to stand 'cause I'll fall right over.
Yesss,
Ooo baby you're a mojo overloadah.
You've got me stirred up like a race car motor.
And,
Ooo baby you're a mojo overloadah.
I can float on water and not be in a boat!

The Wolf
The Breath uprooted withers in the wind
Toiling within the wounds
See- it’s a classic curl, a spiral breath cloud
The wolf ‘neath is whipped
With wisps of wordless worlds
The wolf- a mountain mute memo, you-mime
A classic curl, a spiral breath cloud
The wolf- howls at the moon holes hidden in each hunt
The wolf – hears the horns and hails
An earth risen rose- to survive!

The Surf Talks
Oooh I love you
Giggle giggle
The surf talks
Do you love me too?
If the surf could talk, I know shed ask
Do you think youre equal to the task?
If the surf could talk, shed say
Beware I love you
So Id answer very carefully
And Id ask if shed be there for me
And the surf says always
Beware I love you
The surf says I want you like you want me
Am I in you? are you in me?
Tell me
The surf talks
And it knows what to say
The surf talks
I must learn to obey
The gun cocks, the clock stops, the earth rocks, the surf talks
The surf talks
Puts its tongue on my skin
The surf talks
While its sucking me in
The door locks and unlocks, the veil drops, the surf talks
She has promised me a beach of pearls
And an endless wave, a perfect curl
And she tells me always
Beware I love you
She will place the world inside my hand
She will touch the soul of every man
She will take my message
Im here to love you
The surf says I want you here inside me
Am I in you? are you in me?
Tell me
We are standing on a beach of pearls
We are riding deep inside the curl
And everybody all around the world
Must surrender when your flag unfurls
We are standing on a beach of pearls
We are riding deep inside the curl
And everybody all around the world
Will be dancing in the sea.

i curl into myself
as the touch-me-not…

There Is a Hair in the Bed
there is a hair in the bed
snagged in the sheet fibres
by the coil of its once braided curl
as long as the length
from finger tip to tip
as short as a sharp breath
there is a hair
there
between me
as dark as a polish winter
and you the colour
of dry summer skies
there is a hair in the bed
with a follicle bulb like a teardrop
and a sprout like a clipping
of conductive copper wire
the best part of six inches
of resistance
to my fat fingers
pinching
at the obvious question
why is there a hair
there
in the bed?

MO CAILIN ALAINN RUA(My Beautiful Red Haired Girl) /RED RIVER/WEARING HER HAIR - Sequence
MO CAILIN ALAINN RUA
(My Beautiful Red Haired Girl)
Your hair
taken by the wind
blown
into flame
a fiery red
Medussa
standing on
the edge
of this
mountain
a world
turned to stone
as if your gaze
froze this landscape
into place.
I too
still as stone
your hair
flaring up into the air
fiery snakes
like thoughts
bursting out of your mind
fighting the sunset
that only
a small box camera
captures
& contains
this photo
cutting off your head
from the rest of you
mythical
untouchable
mo cailin alainn rua
mo cailin alainn rua.

RED RIVER
Your hair
trickles down your back
in curls...curls
curl after curl
rivers of ringlets
cascading down your spine.
I want to drown
in the waters of your hair.
You wear a waterfall
over each shoulder
The fiery flames
of your tresses
crashing over thigh & hip & buttock!
My hands
like fishes
swimming all over
your body
splashed with the beauty
of your hair
touching & touching
the sheer
nakedness
of
you.
***** **
WEARING HER HAIR
You stand
before me
dressed only
in the dress
that your hair
weaves about you
naked
yet
not
you wear
your hair
as a magical
garment
from a half remembered half forgotten fairytale.
You undress
throwing your hair over each shoulder
I come to you as if a spell
commanded me to & you
wrap me
in your hair.
Both our
nakedness
wearing your hair
sheltered here
lost amongst
kisses.

A fellow poet(well, it wasn't a fella) divulged that she too was red of the hair(this had been unknown to me) and so this homage to redheads came into being just on this wisp of information...the memories and images flood back into being.

Eulalie
I dwelt alone
In a world of moan,
And my soul was a stagnant tide,
Till the fair and gentle Eulalie became my blushing bride-
Till the yellow-haired young Eulalie became my smiling bride.
Ah, less- less bright
The stars of the night
Than the eyes of the radiant girl!
That the vapor can make
With the moon-tints of purple and pearl,
Can vie with the modest Eulalie's most unregarded curl-
Can compare with the bright-eyed Eulalie's most humble and careless
curl.
Now Doubt- now Pain
Come never again,
For her soul gives me sigh for sigh,
And all day long
Shines, bright and strong,
Astarte within the sky,
While ever to her dear Eulalie upturns her matron eye-
While ever to her young Eulalie upturns her violet eye.

Charlie
Three years ago, I found
an eight-week-old kitten
abandoned in the street.
Everywhere I went she followed me,
eventually I stopped and picked her up
and put her inside my shirt to keep her warm.
I was frightened she might be killed
if I left her wandering there.
I made enquires to find her home,
but no one came forward to claim her.
We had her examined by our Vet
making sure she was OK
before introducing her
to our two boys that we already had.
Three years later,
she is a very loving and affectionate cat
who always loves to play.
She integrated well with the boys
and they all curl up together.
When they play no claws ever come out,
there are no hisses or snarls
only lots of preening done to one another.
They each have their own space
that they like when they want to be alone.
Charlie’s is an old shoebox under my desk
where she will curl up in whenever I am working.
The fools that abandoned her
never knew the prize they had.
A most loving pet
anyone could ever wish for.
