Buddha faces me
In lotus form, Buddha faces me
This afternoon, his palms clasped
He is seated, his feet kissing,
There is peace
And quiet, there is no sound no ripple
In this cool crystal clear pond
Both of us here, in a while It is I
as usual bubbling,
Speaking words, and more words in
Popping out from my restless mind
Overheating, overdoing,
Why me now? Why have you come now
When I have no peace to offer you?
How can this kind of prayer work for me?

Lotus Vavroovahana Patra
Lotus smiles on the pond;
She is a beautiful creation of God.
Magnifies pond’s beauty;
Poet beholds beauty with gaiety.
Chilly breeze kisses delightfully;
Sun beam kisses lovingly.
Virgins enjoy the beauty gaily;
Passers-by behold the beauty gladly.
Poet enjoys the beauty silently;
Mind remains in the realm of peace glee fully.
Soul drinks the nectar of peace;
Mind surrenders on Natures feet, derives Divine Bliss.
The lovely flower is detached from water;
With sun beam dazzles with pleasure.
With the breeze dances gaily;
Waves on the pure cool water silently.
Being detached from worldly attachment remain peacefully;
As Lotus on the water smiles gaudily.
Worldly attachment provides displeasure.
Being as Lotus live with pleasure.
A tiny flower allures lovers daily;
Poets depict poems delightfully.
Provides everlasting pleasure;
Nature’s peace provider for ever.

Prayer For Peace
We got something don't you know it's true?
We got something don't feel it too?
We got something, we got something to do
Not a mushy line that I'm pushing on you
Just another blue-note sung slightly out of tune
We got something, we got something to do
Prayer for peace, prayer for peace
Prayer for peace.
It may appear that we've been sleeping through our years
And we've been living in an imaginary world
But we know what
We know what we got
And if the choice was your of love eternally
Or destruction of the world by some atomic energy
The you'd know what
You know what we got
Prayer for peace, prayer for peace
Prayer for peace. (repeat)
We got got got, we got got got, we got we got something
We got we got got got, we got got got, we got we got something
Prayer for peace, prayer for peace
Prayer for peace. (repeat)

Peace be with you (Latin-Pax Vobiscum)
Oh God! I need a quiet place,
Where flows the nectar of peace,
Not that kind of dead peace,
In the grave, one finds with ease.
I went to the Himalayas Mountain,
But peace there was no certain,
As the solitude tore my mind,
A little peace when I tried to find.
I heard good spiritual lectures,
Those from eminent preachers,
For peace, I left no place unturned,
But with a perturbed mind I returned.
Tell me, oh God, that unknown place,
Where lies that elusive peace,
What I need, now I can find,
So, I’ll have peace of mind.
God answered, “Hey you fool,
First learn to keep yourself cool,
Don’t search elsewhere out,
But dive deep into your heart.”
“Peace isn’t an object that lies outside,
But it’s a feeling that’s generated inside.
Learn to cultivate peace in your heart.
To enjoy this peace, better you now start.”
“Know this I’m in your heart.
I fill it up with peace quite a lot.
This divine peace when you merit,
No need to go elsewhere for it.”

When east is east
The brown man in saffron
Another one in red
Some in pure white
In prayer in meditation
In lotus in kneeling in
Bowing positions
Bending to the earth
Kissing it worshipping
Nature, gods, God, and
Venerating fellowmen
In contemplation of the
Zen and peace and
In mystification and awe
And wander in wonder
The sound of a dripping
Rain the smell of incense
And candles the sight
Of mystery and innocence
When east is east
In the grandeur of simplicity
And heavenly peace
now, in orange sunset.

The Chant Of Boredom
i repeat words
and i have a chew
of my syllables
love
love
love
love
crazy this mind is
crazy
having gained all the years
and yet can still
mishandle an error
oft repeated
i have focused on the
form
and is misled by its
contours
its lines like labyrinths
of the confused
mind
in willingness
to be lost
to such a ecstasy
that cannot be
easily forgotten
the promises are
rains
beyond the paths
of the gutters
overflowing
there is this
collaboration to be
destroyed
a form of masochism
because of the
beatings of
the flesh
i rest upon
time
and pierces upon
the form
going deeper
into the ramifications
of reason
i sleep upon
the breasts of time
and at the center of
its meaning
i regain the composure
of truth
lotus position
i give a bloom of my flower
arm
to the sky
i chant the song
of the leaves
i simulate the
posture of the
pond
and so here i am with
you
beyond the reach of the
flesh
in peace and harmony
with this poem

Greek Lyrics
O WORDS as clear as are the dawn sky-rifts
Between the still cloud-layers, and eke as sweet
As violets are, looking through crystal dew,
And with such melody as birds may have
That sing the morning notes where peace and joy
Are mingled all, and every thought is still —
O Words, ye come to me, a toiler here
With life-blood hurrying thro' imperilled veins,
Ye come as from a heaven, a heaven on earth,
Wherein (I know not when) ye were mine too!
Ah me, clear Words, sweet Words melodious,
Too long an unknown tongue are ye to me,
A tongue unknown too long for peace and joy.
No heaven on earth, but ever earth on heaven
I pile and dwindle piling. Pass away;
For I can linger not, nor ease my toil —
Away, and leave me with the dreadful night
And all the sadness of the voiceless stars!

Peace, peace, peace
Peace,
Bring it on
Peace, peace
You do no wrong
Peace, peace, peace
You are strong
Stronger then hatred
Stronger than fear
Stronger than the dark powers
of a troubled mind
Peace
Stay with me
Peace, peace
Flee not, try to be kind
Peace, peace, peace
Why hath thou so tough to find?

Peace Prayer
Leafy turtle green aviary tapestries
lotus bowing mantis branches
hovering meditative hugs
pherochimerical language
spoken by the wind
cloud melting mental magic
cool cavernous catalpa shade
songs soaking in the sun
high life, taking it easy
catching lightning bugs
chasing fireflies
time running marathon distances
every moment measured in palpitations
old familiar blue, never the same as it was yesterday
one with the world, together in a state of constant change,
life nestles in a womb of love
creation continuously giving birth to itself
beneath the sun moon and stars
breathing bodies and beating hearts
thoughts unwind all is calm in the mind
peace, a piece of which, be all any noble
being ever aspires to obtain
Inner Outer Worldly Universal Mind Body Soul
peace in life, peace in death,
peace in the work of waking hours
peace in sleep, peace at rest,
peace in nature, peace at home
peace on the streets, peace on the farm,
peace between brothers, peace with god,
peace with self, peace with what's beyond control
peace in love, peace in light

There Is A Kind Of Peace /In Writing A Poem
There is a kind of peace
In writing a poem
A kind of gentleness:
Words come slowly and surely
And happiness is within them.
All around so quiet so calm
So at ease;
There is a gentleness in writing a quiet poem,
And great peace in writing a small happy one.

Spring afternoon
A spring morning – well,
I only need to say the words?
I’ll picture mine, you picture yours –
champagne bubbling in the blood and in the mind,
hopes and possibilities flooding freshly in..
but a spring mid-afternoon… like today, like now:
a subtle balance of the elements;
the sunlight bathes the room, but gently,
with its promise; yet,
there’s a timeless peace with it
that’s like a life surveyed; yet
free of thought, of comparison, or of regret:
the six loved paintings that adorn the walls
bought for a song, when art was like a song –
they love the gentle sunlight, and it in turn loves them;
five artists painting their sunlit peace, their happiness;
(two very different ones from the man
who lives so humbly halfway up
the mountain hills he rambles every day):
three oils; one gouache; one watercolour; and one pastel;
they all but two have clouds in them
as they’re all landscapes;
one that hasn’t, has a haze as if
the painter’s painting the summer wind, in those high hills..
the other is a cloudless morning’s peace,
the bend of a river in mid-France;
the river…it cannot be, just painted oil?
it’s water seen as by a pure clear soul…
and the clouds – caught in an impossibility of time,
play out an endless drama of the elements;
timeless in the peace of, now, a slightly later
springtime afternoon; almost with a touch...
but how could perfection ever regret
its own departure?

Some Peace Of Mind
You see me on the street, well you guess Im doing fine
Oh but its fantasy baby, almost all the time
Ive got to get away, by myself
Oh the way its going, soon be needing help
'cause Im just a man, doing the best I can
Dont you understand, I just want some peace of mind
You see me on the stage, doing my job
I learn to do it well, keep on singing the song
But sometimes it gets, so lonely out there
When youre on the road and youre going nowhere
Because Im just a man, oh I aint got no plans
Dont you understand, Im just trying to find some peace of mind
I have to stand in line, baby when Im in queue
I got to do it all, just the same as you
Got my doubts about it, oh but I try
Oh make it work with tears in my eyes
Because Im just a man, only trying to do the best I can
Dont you understand, I want some peace of mind
Oh Im just a man, baby I aint got no plan
Oh dont you understand, got to get some peace of mind
Oh got to get, got to get some peace of mind
Oh got to get, got to get some peace of mind
Got to get, got to get some peace of mind
Got to, got to, got to get, got to get, get some peace of mind
Got to get, got to get, get some peace of mind
Get me some, get me some, get me some, get me some peace of mind
Get me some, get me some, peace of mind
Get me some baby, get me some peace of mind.

To A Buddha Seated On A Lotus
LORD BUDDHA, on thy Lotus-throne,
With praying eyes and hands elate,
What mystic rapture dost thou own,
Immutable and ultimate?
What peace, unravished of our ken,
Annihilate from the world of men?
The wind of change for ever blows
Across the tumult of our way,
To-morrow's unborn griefs depose
The sorrows of our yesterday.
Dream yields to dream, strife follows strife,
And Death unweaves the webs of Life.
For us the travail and the heat,
The broken secrets of our pride,
The strenuous lessons of defeat,
The flower deferred, the fruit denied;
But not the peace, supremely won,
Lord Buddha, of thy Lotus-throne.
With futile hands we seek to gain
Our inaccessible desire,
Diviner summits to attain,
With faith that sinks and feet that tire;
But nought shall conquer or control
The heavenward hunger of our soul.
The end, elusive and afar,
Still lures us with its beckoning flight,
And all our mortal moments are
A session of the Infinite.
How shall we reach the great, unknown
Nirvana of thy Lotus-throne?

Reflex Musings: Reflections from Various Surfaces
In the dense entangled street,
Where the web of Trade is weaving,
Forms unknown in crowds I meet
Much of each and all believing;
Each his small designs achieving
Hurries on with restless feet,
While, through Fancy’s power deceiving,
Self in every form I greet.
Oft in yonder rocky dell
Neath the birches’ shadow seated,
I have watched the darksome well,
Where my stooping form, repeated,
Now advanced and now retreated
With the spring’s alternate swell,
Till destroyed before completed
As the big drops grew and fell.
By the hollow mountain-side
Questions strange I shout for ever,
While the echoes far and wide
Seem to mock my vain endeavour;
Still I shout, for though they never
Cast my borrowed voice aside,
Words from empty words they sever—
Words of Truth from words of Pride.
Yes, the faces in the crowd,
And the wakened echoes, glancing
From the mountain, rocky browed,
And the lights in water dancing—
Each my wandering sense entrancing,
Tells me back my thoughts aloud,
All the joys of Truth enhancing
Crushing all that makes me proud.

On A Clear Morning
on a clear morning
the farmer
has just finished plowing
his field
the rain comes
and fills
the muddy field
with more water
a mirror is placed
and the sky look upon
itself
a very white sky
on a crystal clear rain water
a white heron from the green mountain
glides in perfect lightness
on the mirror of water
daintily it walks
and i see not a single ripple
on its feet
on a clear morning
the world is at peace with me.

Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (live)
What do you mean, "I don't believe in God"?
I talk to him every day.
What do you mean, "I don't support your system"?
I go to court when I have to.
What do you mean, "I can't get to work on time"?
I got nothing better to do
And, what do you mean, "I don't pay my bills"?
Why do you think I'm broke? Huh?
If there's a new way,
I'll be the first in line.
But, it better work this time.
What do you mean, "I hurt your feelings"?
I didn't know you had any feelings.
What do you mean, "I ain't kind"?
I'm just not your kind.
What do you mean, "I couldn't be president,
Of the United States of America"?
Tell me something, it's still "We the people", right?
If there's a new way
I'll be the first in line,
But, it better work this time.
Can you put a price on peace?
Peace,
Peace sells...,
Peace,
Peace sells...,
Peace sells...,but who's buying?
Peace sells...,but who's buying?
Peace sells...,but who's buying?
Peace sells...,but who's buying?
No, peace sells

Fear Versus Faith
The skies opened up and rain did pour.
I heard it from my bed.
The winds were howling and I closed my eyes
and then inside my head
I pictured a clear and sunny day
and pretended all was calm.
The next thing I knew I was praying
the words to the 23rd Psalm.
I fell asleep after the prayer
while the storm was raging on.
But the peace of those words recited by me
erased my fear. It was gone.
For prayer brings you peace
when you're faced with fear.
So let the skies open up. Let it pour.
Let the winds howl far or near.
For my fate will never be determined
by the fury that nature can bring.
It will only be decided by my faith
in the belief of every good thing.

Please Be Quiet
He spoke and spoke so many words
and she just silently thought.
He had an opinion on everything.
She listened and then she sought
silence again, just said Amen
to all those words he said,
Soon thoughts came to her head.
She thought about life.
She thought about love.
She thought about
all he was speaking of.
She thought about nights
where silence prevailed.
She thought about days
where the speaking assailed
her ears.
She'd been thinking and thinking
for too many years.
The quietness was peaceful
but now brought her to tears.
For she missed the sound
of all his words.
She missed everything he said.
He was gone and all was quiet
for all his words were dead.
The thoughts were still there.
The words were not.
And what was it he said?
She forgot.

Two Figures in Dense Violet Light
I had as lief be embraced by the portier of the hotel
As to get no more from the moonlight
Than your moist hand.
Be the voice of the night and Florida in my ear.
Use dasky words and dusky images.
Darken your speech.
Speak, even, as if I did not hear you speaking,
But spoke for you perfectly in my thoughts,
Conceiving words,
As the night conceives the sea-sound in silence,
And out of the droning sibilants makes
A serenade.
Say, puerile, that the buzzards crouch on the ridge-pole
and sleep with one eye watching the stars fall
Beyond Key West.
Say that the palms are clear in the total blue.
Are clear and are obscure; that it is night;
That the moon shines.
