Between Us

between us is this chasm of silence
we are like a river
and i am on the other side of its banks
at the middle is this haze of the fog
and the transparency of twilight
between us is the thread of a word
a line of syllables that must connect us
to connect our loneliness
you on the other side has only to utter the words
but you cannot do it
neither I, and so we have become the widest sea
without a shore. Now we are faraway islands.

Silence, where there are no words! !

'somewhere in my heart I still find myself some time,
I keep all the loneliness at one side and let the silence rhyme,
Then I open my mind to some fairy tales,
some heartless mind wandering trails,
oh then and there,
I land up somewhere,
up above the sky height.
I open the cockpit of my flight
and see the words flowing into you
oh you are the first woman whom i knew,

you are someone to whom my first words were addressed,
oh my heart rupturing mother come lets get dressed,
as we have to go so far away even from your words
to seek the language of the silence where there are no word,
the ultimate and utter silence mother'

'but what will you do there if there are no words there,
the ever eating silence will scare you and get your out, fear',

said the crystal eyed my other,

'won't you seek the silence in one another,
let me talk you through this out,
i want to hear my tears fall and sprout,
in this loneliness and utter silence i cry,
i am so soused but it's still dry,
no matter what i can't stop this thought of mine,
yes, there will be silence and everything will be fine'.

Do I Really Like Being Lonely?

here you are, a vortex,
and i am a point just below the line that runs
like a bridge
trying to connect us both
as though
we are one kind of a
connection: a telegraphic wire
a letter between two lonely people
or a chat
an email that has not been read for five days,
here you are, saying lots of irreconcilable
concepts: loneliness is a friend
a company
and loneliness actually is likable
like it is sort of a friend
who keeps me company

you are telling me that
loneliness is happiness:

are you sure? try going alone in a faraway island
and strolling along its beach
where a typhoon is raging

no seagull, the waves gigantic
the shore all crumpled
the sands all noisy

the abandon, is this something that is
a happy moment?

tell me, remember, the moment
once, when your heart was broken
and you are so lost
you cannot even pick a piece.

loneliness is loneliness.
i am running away from it.
it is a void. i am avoiding it.
but here she comes.

and i am telling her,
i am incurable.

Other Side of You

I say black and you say white
I turn to the left, you move to the right
No matter what I do
I'm always on the other side of you
I'm always on the other side of you
I want to play but you like to fight
I rise in the morning, you hide in the night
No matter what I do
I'm always on the other side of you
Like paralell lines, so near yet so far
Like North Pole and South Pole, we're oceans apart
I'm always on the other side of you
You let go, I try to connect
You always remember, I try to forget
I'm always on the other side of you.

Are You Ever Lonely?

Are you ever lonesome and don't know why?
Are you ever lonesome just like I?
A room full of people all at my side
and still the loneliness is unidentified.
Where does it come from?
Why is it here?
I thought we were only lonely
when no one is near.

I think the loneliness comes from before,
from a time in our past when we were sure
that what it is we do would never be through.
It would always be alive and part of you.
Why couldn't it stay?
Why isn't it here?
'Cause times are a changing.
That's why my dear.

But all that loneliness makes you reflect
and brings you back to how you connect
with what made you happy,
what made you, you.
All of the things that you could do.
And this is why you're lonely sometime.
'Cause when you are younger
you are still in your prime.
But, eventually the time for loneliness
will be your sign
for reflection.

It's Mine to Own

Just give me my prize!
For a life lived...
Both bold and wise.

Just give me my prize!
Un-itemized it.
It's mine to own.

Just give me my prize.
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Inside...
I connect it.
Now I can accept.
Those feelings I cried...
With heartache.
Deep in my chest!

I accept it.
Now I can connect.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.

Just give me my prize!
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Inside...
I accept it.
Now I can connect.

Those feelings I cried...
With heartache.
Deep in my chest!

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
Just give me my prize!
Un-itemized it.
It's mine to own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
It's mine to own.
I accept it.
Now I can connect.
It's mine to own.

Just,
Give me my prize I accept it.
It's mine to own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

I accept it.
Now I can connect.
My own.

Just give me my prize,
I accept it.
It's mine alone!

Eloquently Stated

You keep insisting to connect yourself with values,
I can not identify.
Like honesty.
You are constantly in hide and seek mode.
So honesty you may wish exists.
But from you...
That does not show.

Devotion and loyalty?
The words I hear.
But those actions from you I disbelieve.
Unless they have been gift wrapped...
And you're presenting them now to me!

Trust?
I've seen that scrawled on the side a bus.
Were you on it?
And your wave escaped my attention?

You keep insisting to connect yourself with values,
I can not identify.
Not with you.

But then again...
You always fantasized yourself a magician.
And I do have a wish you can fulfill.
You can snap your fingers and disappear.
Leaving us both to keep that secret to ourselves.
How is that for accomodating both of our desires?
As you have so eloquently stated!

The Words As Bridges...

in a true relationship
a word is a bridge that can connect
two distant cities,

it will take just a syllable to get to know
each other and cling like vines
on the trellis and give a flower
to the passers-by,

others have destroyed many bridges
with just one word, the harshest thing that can
happen to
syllables, like

saying bye. And it ends there like
a shadow of the
western movie against the sun
and then the curtains
fall

and we all leave and carry with us
the story of
guilt and forgiveness....

on my own experience
the words are always bridges to old cities
and though rusty
they still hold the missing gaps
and the river or the
sea below
will always be hungry for some
morsels of lives
to fall

in my own world
no word destroys, no syllable cuts
an umbilical cord,

i place it there. In print.
and time is powerless to erase it.

Where Am I? I Am In The Middle Of An Idea.

i am in the middle of an idea.
it is like a river always flowing.
at the top are blessings like rain
on a clear bright day, and on the
ground are glistening dews,
like diamonds. On the right side
are trees filled with ripe fruits,
and below them are bushes
filled with yellow flowers. On the
left side of this river, are stones,
and cliffs, and crevices, and
at the height of all these silence,
is the call of the west wind.
There is a confusion somewhere.
But there is also a certainty like
the brightness of the sun. I am torn
between these two choices.
I am in the middle of this idea.
Like a river, i continue flowing.

Like the driftwood, i no longer care.

I Like To Think That All These Are But A Game Of Words

that is the impression from the beginning
when i started to scribble
word, and more words, i assured her that they do not
mean anything at all just
words, and words and more words

that even a sunflower wilting and spreading all the seed on her feet
are nothing too but words and more words
nothing to grow nothing to expect like a sprouting something

thus my loneliness, i again assure here, is nothing but a word
my way of taking solitude on the other side to save myself
is another word, and she of course, did not believe me saying

there is more to these words, there is fire in them and i see you burning
there is the sun inside them and the letters glow and the

there is smoke rising from the heads of vowels
from the nonspeaking consonants

i keep hiding the flowers
i bury those that are alive in the silence of my pretensions

until one day she grips me like she is a knife wanting to stab me
and then she stabbed me right in my throat and there i bleed

words, words, and more words coming from the slit
bloody words, and she was convinced, until death, ... and then i vanish.

Time & Motion

Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Time and motion
Wind and sun and rain
Days connect like boxcars in a train
Fill them up with precious cargo
Squeeze in all that you can find
Spontaneous elation
And the long-enduring kind
Time and motion
Flesh and blood and fire
Lives connect in webs of gold and razor wire
Spin a thread of precious contact
Squeeze in all that you can find
Spontaneous relations
And the long-enduring kind
The mighty ocean
Dances with the moon
The silent forest
Echoes with the loon
Time and motion
Live and love and dream
Eyes connect like interstellar beams
Superman in supernature
Needs all the comfort he can find
Spontaneous emotion
And the long enduring kind

Slow Chemical

The wonder of the world is gone and old for sure
All the wonder that I would have found in her
As a hole becomes another strike to burn
An old flame returns
Every intuition fails to find it's way
One more table turned around I'm back again
Finding I'm a lost and found when she's not around
When she's not around I feel it coming down
Get me what I could never ask for
Connect me and you could be my chemical NOW
Give me the drug you know I'm after
Connect me and you could be my chemical
When everybody wants (the chemical of) your soul
When everybody wants (the chemical of) your soul
Slow and
Everybody wants you
So
Slow and
Everybody wants your soul
Give me what I could never ask for
connect me and you could be my chemical NOW
Give me the drug you know I'm after
Connect me and you could be the chemical
You could be the chemical
You could be the chemical
You could be the chemical
You could be the chemical

If We Never Meet Again

(words & music by albert e. brumley)
Soon well come to the end of lifes journey
And perhaps never meet anymore
Till we gather in heavens bright city
Far away on that beautiful shore
If we never meet again this side of heaven
As we struggle through this world and its strife
Theres another meeting place somewhere in heaven
By the side of the river of life
Where the charming roses bloom forever
And where separations come no more
If we never meet again this side of heaven
I will meet you on that beautiful shore

The Loudest Sound

Side by side in silence
They pass away the day
So comfortable, so habitual...
And so nothing left to say
Nothing left to say
Nothing left to say
Side by side in silence
His thoughts echo round
He looks up at the sky...
She looks down at the ground
Stares down at the ground
Stares down at the ground
Side by side in silence
They wish for different worlds
She dreams him as a boy...
And he loves her as a girl
Loves her as a girl...
And side by side in silence
Without a single word...
It's the loudest sound
It's the loudest sound...
It's the loudest sound i ever heard

With A Getting Up To Get 'SOMETHING' Done

Seeking an advanced enhancement,
To impress others with your life?
Without taking the time to connect the dots.
Or appreciating what you've got...
Without appreciating it with the giving of respect.
Giving no acknowledgement with a gratefulness.
And yet...
You sit an expect,
A delivery of happiness?

Look at me!
Seriously.
I want you to focus.
Do not shift your eyes from side to side.
Look at me!
Seriously.

I am going to say something to you.
And please leave your ears open to hear these words.

You,
Are out of your mind!
You,
Need to realize that...
With a getting up to get 'SOMETHING' done.
Something that qualifies you as a doer.
You,
Can do this.
You,
Must come from out of this spell.

That's it.
That's it.
Slowly look around.
Take your time.
But know that you can do it.
You can successfully get up off of your behind.
Have and keep faith.

Those Mammoth Trilogies

Those mammoth trilogies,
Dramatized to connect...
Similarities between plots and schemes,
As if to sing in three part harmony to excite.
But instead...
Lulls a listener to eventaully nod to sleep.
Would be wonderful to read...
If one did not need a dictionary to understand,
What was meant to impress...
Made less and less sense.
And did not connect on the onset of one's intention.

'So...
Did you read my messages? '

No!
But I did use them to line my trash can.
Thanks!
That was thoughtful of you to send them.

'You really know how to get to the point,
Don't you? '
It is a skill I've developed.

Bernadette

Waves of moonlight flow
She is the giving sea
I am the land of loneliness
She walks the whispering shore
She prays by the silent dawn

We connect like tropic waters

Parrots along the river
Vines with mystic leaves
Ancient waves of wholeness
Ripe fruit sings in the wind
Your fire glows in forest roses

Dreams sigh with golden flesh

Your words bring the tide
Ancient shells of Aphrodite
Women as strong as stars
Necklace of regal desire
Your wet beasts haunt me

Bernadette glows in the moonlight
