Compulsion 6
you say you will not do it
never again
this sickness this sickening thing
inside you
you smile
you breathe
your stomach begins to deliver a speech
this cannot be
denial, denial, denial of the natural color of your hair
one that blends
with your skin
one that speaks the words that your tongue
has been keeping
the one that you hide
and pretend it is not there
it grows
and becomes big and so visible
you knife it out
never shall it heal
this wound this life
this is what you are
and ever shall be
forever, and yet you keep it hidden
funny, because they are all seeing it
and speaking about it
it seems, you are the only one
mute, deaf, blind and so dumb

Not Accepting the Obvious
Denial has the capability,
To drag pity around...
In various unique places.
And with a standard of performance set,
Prepared to stir the heart.
Denial has the capability,
To remove truth from memory.
Excuse an alcoholic,
And supply any drug one wishes.
Denail has the capability,
To deceive oneself to hide the truth...
And live a life of lies.
Denial has the capability...
Of not accepting the obvious.
'Thank you for your beautiful performance.
Yes...
Her death was premature and done by natural causes..
She was loved by millions.'
~Loving to hear her voice.
But...
How can anyone be blind to the fact,
She was killing it intentionally.~
Denial has the capability...
Of not accepting the obvious.
But enjoys every detail of pain.

Denial
You are my only daughter, I guess I made you twice
You look inside my other, hell give you bad advice
I will tell you Im ok, but deep inside Im afraid
I dont drink holy water, Im not a son of christ
I aint no black messiah, and I dont load my dice
You can tell me youre all right, but why you so afraid?
Youre in denial, you never will believe its you
Denial, you always hide behind the truth
Youll never believe it, you never believe its you
I dont think Im amazing. in fact Im quite insane
To live inside my bucket, with all my plastic chains
People tell me every time, I look at the wron all right
Youre in denial, you never will believe its you
Denial, you always hide behind the truth
Youll never believe it, you never believe its you
Youll never believe it, you never believe it
Secrets told you, dreamland holds you, secrets told you
You wouldnt believe it, you couldnt conceive it
Secrets told you...
You wanna receive it, you gotta believe its you
Youre on a trip already, Im tripping out alright
Ill get there slow and steady, just sit and hold on tight
Denial, you never will believe its you
Denial, you always hide behind the truth
Denial, you never will believe its you
Denial, you always hide behind the truth, yeah, yeah
Behind the truth, yeah, yeah
Its true, yeah, yeah
Behind the truth, yeah, yeah
Its you, yeah, yeah
Behind the truth, yeah, yeah
Its gonna be alright, just hold on thight
Its gonna be alright, just hold on thight

Denial Is My River
Denial is a river I know so well
For it flows deep in my veins.
It's my partner when lonely,
Defender in conflict and doctor for my pains.
This river of tears cleanses my ears
So I can hear what I need.
It's current sucks under those who wonder
And all who've disagreed.
With denial I can defend myself
Against each who seems a fool.
For theirs is the problem, the error,
The fault and I'm the one to rule.
Waves of denial splash at my face
Forcing a flaccid smile.
Torrents of liquid numb my space.
Then nothing hurts for a while.
Denial is my river. It serves me well.
It's the only refuge I've found.
Though my greatest fear while swimming here
Is that who I was has drowned.

Cleopatra, Queen Of Denial
(pam tillis/bob dipiero/jan buckingham)
(track 7 - time 3:13)
Well I said he had a lot of potential
He was only misunderstood
You know he didnt really mean to treat me so bad
He wanted to be good
And I swore one day I would tame him
Even though he loved to run hog wild
Just call me cleopatra everybody, cause Im the queen of denial
I knew he didnt have any money
Yeah thats why he couldnt buy me a ring
Oh and just because he bought himself a brand new pickup truck
Really didnt prove anything
And he never had to say he loved me
I could see it every time he smiled
Just call me cleopatra everybody, cause Im the queen of denial
Oh queen of denial, buyin all his alibis
Queen of denial, floatin down a river of lies
Well Im not gonna jump to conclusions
Or throw away this perfect romance
Even though I caught him dancin last night
With a girl in a leopard skin pants
Yeah, hes probably stuck in traffic
And hell be here in a litte while
Just call me cleopatra everybody, cause Im the queen of denial
Oh queen of denial, buyin all his alibis
Queen of denial, just floatin down a river of lies

The Biggest Disaster
What 'is' unfortunate?
The capitalization of the word DENIAL.
And the tremendous affect the act of it,
Has had on the millions of those who have been shown...
A protection from truth will produce for them a reality.
And a denial pursued is what all should do!
However,
In the doing...
Denial 'now' has become too huge of a magnitude,
To disregard...
As the biggest disaster ever allowed to be created,
Humanity has come to face!

I Cant Seem To Get Over You
Time is moving fast to the point of no return
Im reaching for tomorrow leaving bridges that Ive burned
Here I stand alone with my back against the wall
Tortured by your memory and the feelings I recall
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
No matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you
Everywhere I turn I see shadows on the wall
A silhouette of sorrow of a man who had it all
Your kiss forever haunts me like a ghost out of the past
Its peaceful for a moment but it never seems to last
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
Np matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you
Im getting tired of living with these questions in my mind
Is it hopeful to imagine or just a waste of time
For now I go on dreaming, thats whats keeping me alive
But dreams wont last forever, tell me how will I survive
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
No matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you

Scars
Those who suffer scars outside
Are afflicted since they can't hide.
But they likely confront reality
Since their appearance is there to see.
In turn most learn it's not what is seen,
Since actions determine what life will mean.
Whereas those harboring scars inside
Can't be treated when they've denied
That there's anything wrong…
Until the next crisis comes along.
Then it's the world that's marred…
Not them since they have worked hard.
Scars of denial, insecurity and hate
Are like open wounds that never abate.
These marks take their greatest toll
Surreptitiously hidden, destroying soul.
Sadder are innocent victims that suffer;
Unscarreds exposed to denial with no buffer.

Denial
Denial
Denial
Denial
Isn't that it - denial?
But know that I love you
And know that it's true
And pure and soulful,
Just beautiful!
But
It's spilling over,
Spilling over,
Spilling over,
Spilling over into desire;
Desire to touch you,
Desire to hold you,
And that just wouldn't do!
Hence I fear
I fear for the purity,
I fear for the soulfulness;
So do I choose to
Live the lonesomeness
Of
Denying
Denying
Denying
Your eyes?

Opiate (live)
Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
what you need is someone strong to use you..
like me,
like me.
If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me.
Don't judge or question.
You are broken now ,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.
My Gods will
becomes me.
When he speaks out,
he speaks through me.
He has needs
like I do.
We both want
to rape you.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life.
Open my eyes and blind me with your light
and your lies.

An Unrequited Game
Do tell me,
if my words are just but metaphor to you,
meaning nothing in a solemn way,
stretches upon me are scars of unwanted words,
from the truth that beholds every single lie,
and such and such still bore nothing to you,
what a waste of a poet life to be said,
but alas,
no amok need doing,
for we are all not but in a confusing manner,
of shattered dreams and smothering truth,
does it hurt when I held your hand?
dishonesty never flow through your eyes,
does it hurt if I flatter you with all the truth that you own? ,
ignorance just a denial in denial,
so please do tell me,
if this unrequited feeling I had,
is just a game to be played by one,
To love,
such a withered symphony,
with a blind maestro and deaf musicians,
and so the music played on,
only to be heard of its beauty by the audience,
so be it,
we are the cause, we are the players,
in a gentle manner, sluggishly obeying,
for you my dear,
I'm am but never a loser to be call,
till then,
roll the dice,
it's your turn...

Would You Sssshut Up With That!
'Your days,
As known...
Are gone.
Cut loose emotionally from them.'
Be in the 'now'!
Not denial.
In the now!
Not denial.
In the now!
Not denial.
In the...
'Would you sssshut up with that! '
Oh!
So it's okay for 'you' to be negative?
'Yesterday,
When I said...
Your days,
As known...
Are gone.
Cut loose emotionally from them.
I didn't think you would jump off a bridge.
Especially a foot bridge.
One only a foot from the water.
And the water is not there...
Because we're experiencing a drought! '
I don't care what you say!
But there is definitely hints of negativity in your tone!
I've learned to recognize those thoughts now.
Now that God has spared my life.
And I have visions of doing greater things.
And...
I owe this to you,
Indirectly!

The denial of our duty to act in this case is a denial of our right to act; and if we have no right to act, then may we well be termed the white slaves of the North, for like our brethren in bonds, we must seal our lips in silence and despair.

Shaking Through
Could it be that one small voice doesnt count in the world?
Yellow like a geisha gown, denial all the way
Could this by three be turned? honor marches on.
Yellow like a geisha gown, denial all the way
Shaking through, opportune. shaking through, opportune.
Are we grown way too far?
Taking after rain
Yellow like a geisha gown, denial all the way
Shaking through, opportune. shaking through, opportune.
In my life.
Is that a steal?
Children of today on parade,
Yellow like a geisha gown, denial all the way
Shaking through, opportune. shaking through, opportune.
Shaking through, opportune. shaking through, opportune.

The Intent Of Being Naive
Is it a trait that means that we should be treated as dirt, NO! Should we use you till you have nothing NO! Should we deny you your rights NO! Are you dumb because of it NO! What is being naive? Is it pretending things are simpler then they really are? Or is it not understanding how complex something is? The true question of being naive isn't what it means but its intent. Lieing to yourself or others shouldn't have an excuse such as naive. Now on the other if its true lack of understanding, then you should welcome any educating and we should be happy to do so. And we shouldn't associate being naive as stupidity unless there is no willingness to learn. Then its more then naive its ignorance and denial rolled into one. Am I willing learn yes. Will I ask question when I don't know yes. Will take a stand on what I believe with an open mind yes. Will I debate with someone I believe to be naive without the intent of denial yes. Being naive just means you got something to learn. Are you willing? or Are you in denial? Huh?

Denial
Denial is a sorry state of confusion
Like closing one's eyes in the face of a fire
Like going to sleep in the midst of an earthquake
The weirdest reaction for a state so dire.
Denial is the easy escape for cowards
The open door for those unable to face fact
The ultimate withdrawal of all logic and thinking
The sad resort of those who are last to react.
Denial is fatal for those who run governments
For the nation may be crumbling or it may be attacked
The shoving away of truth is a dangerous treatment
It may cost a lot more than the security it lacked.
Denial is no leadership virtue but a Liability
And those who have practiced it may be judged later
Though the present may save them from all responsibility
The pages of History may not treat them any kinder.

The Last Flight
there is always a reason why a man cannot
cease writing
there is that denial of what was there a long time ago
it sits there like a statue
beside the door of the house
where the window is always closed
there is always a reason why the words keep flowing
like a river
why the river is always filled with running water
despite the drought
you see the bones of cows
the dust of the sands in the desert
it was once an oasis
where date palms abound where women bathe
with their men
where they make love
under the crescent moon
there is always a reason that you know
but you do not tell
but which i will always deny
as truth
it is this denial that keeps my hands going
like soldiers ready for a kill in that theater of war
it is this roaring lion that does not bite
that keeps me
in fear that keeps me speaking inside myself
there is no one here
there is no wall anymore
the winds are waiting with all the wings of the dead birds
it is ready
i am undressing
this is the flight.

Crippled Inside
You can shine your shoes and wear a suit
You can comb your hair and look quite cute
You can hide your face behind a smile
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
You can wear a mask and paint your face
You can call yourself the human race
You can wear a collar and a tie
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
Well now you know that your
Cat has nine lives
Nine lives to itself
But you only got one
And a dogs life aint fun
Mamma take a look outside
You can go to church and sing a hymn
You can judge me by the color of my skin
You can live a lie until you die
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
Well now you know that your
Cat has nine lives
Nine lives to itself
But you only got one
And a dogs life aint fun
Mamma take a look outside
You can go to church and sing a hymn
You can judge me by the color of my skin
You can live a lie until you die
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
One thing you cant hide
Is when youre crippled inside
