Love Sonnet 52 My Love Is Reigning Queen Among Roses

My love is reigning queen among roses,
Regal and prim in each and every stance,
Cleopatra looks plain when she chooses,
She is Helen of Troy held at first glance;
I pause, afraid to start a ten-year-war,
Before I dare to venture in her dreams,
Content to view her island from afar,
Although my heart with yearning madly screams;
Will Aphrodite help further my cause?
And sway the gods to guide my ship in course,
I may yet see one short godly applause,
And get assured, this love they too endorse;
.......Would Trojan Horse be fitting gift to spare?
.......The one without soldiers, empty and bare.

Troy Town

HEAVENBORN Helen, Sparta's queen,
(O Troy Town!)
Had two breasts of heavenly sheen,
The sun and moon of the heart's desire:
All Love's lordship lay between.
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Helen knelt at Venus' shrine,
(O Troy Town!)
Saying, “A little gift is mine,
A little gift for a heart's desire.
Hear me speak and make me a sign!
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“Look, I bring thee a carven cup;
(O Troy Town!)
See it here as I hold it up,—
Shaped it is to the heart's desire,
Fit to fill when the gods would sup.
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“It was moulded like my breast;
(O Troy Town!)
He that sees it may not rest,
Rest at all for his heart's desire.
O give ear to my heart's behest!
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“See my breast, how like it is;
(O Troy Town!)
See it bare for the air to kiss!
Is the cup to thy heart's desire?
O for the breast, O make it his!
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“Yea, for my bosom here I sue;
(O Troy Town!)
Thou must give it where 'tis due,
Give it there to the heart's desire.
Whom do I give my bosom to?
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“Each twin breast is an apple sweet.
(O Troy Town!)
Once an apple stirred the beat
Of thy heart with the heart's desire:—
Say, who brought it then to thy feet?
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“They that claimed it then were three:
(O Troy Town!)
For thy sake two hearts did he
Make forlorn of the heart's desire.
Do for him as he did for thee!
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
“Mine are apples grown to the south,
(O Troy Town!)
Grown to taste in the days of drouth,
Taste and waste to the heart's desire:
Mine are apples meet for his mouth.”
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Venus looked on Helen's gift,
(O Troy Town!)
Looked and smiled with subtle drift,
Saw the work of her heart's desire:—
“There thou kneel'st for Love to lift!”
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Venus looked in Helen's face,
(O Troy Town!)
Knew far off an hour and place,
And fire lit from the heart's desire;
Laughed and said, “Thy gift hath grace!”
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Cupid looked on Helen's breast,
(O Troy Town!)
Saw the heart within its nest,
Saw the flame of the heart's desire,—
Marked his arrow's burning crest.
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Cupid took another dart,
(O Troy Town!)
Fledged it for another heart,
Winged the shaft with the heart's desire,
Drew the string and said, “Depart!”
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)
Paris turned upon his bed,
(O Troy Town!)
Turned upon his bed and said,
Dead at heart with the heart's desire—
“Oh to clasp her golden head!”
(O Troy's down,
Tall Troy's on fire!)

You Are My Helen Of Troy

Although at times, Like Paris of old, I may be arrogant- Like a small boy-
I know its you I love- My Helen of Troy!
From across the vast sea of my love, I stole your heart.
But, There are those who wish to tear us apart-
Its as if a war has begun to start-
But, We are protected by the gods of love,
From the heavens above-
And none shall EVER destroy the walls of our love-
Nor shall they EVER be breached, By any wooden horse-
Or EVER, By any force!

Helen of Troy

A mythological beauty, she had been;
A legendary beauty, she had grown.
Who is it other than Helen of Troy,
The epitome of seductive beauty?

A symbol of man’s erotic desires,
From the other women, Helen differs
In that she never employed her charms
To gain power of self-aggrandizement.

Her era dates back to fifth century B.C.
The fairest of women had been the one
Whom all women should hate and yet envy,
And all men should fear and yet desire.

No wonder, men were captive of her charm,
But not was she captive of any man..
She had admirers; none did she admire.
Her fairness deserved more than what she got.

A puppet she was in the heavenly battle,
Where Greek Gods and Goddesses had sported.
As such, she must be absolved of the taints
She was attached with, sadistically.

Helen was the daughter of Zeus and Leda,
The Greek God and Goddess. Born of an egg,
And brought up by a shepherd, she became
The prince of Sparta, a kingdom’f the Greek.

At her age ten, Helen was kidnapped
By an Athenian Hero for her charm
And was, however, brought back unscathed
By her brother; so famous she became.

At Helen’s wedding, numerous suitors
From far and wide came to claim her fair hand.
They were made to swear an oath to defend
The chosen husband in the event of

A rival attempting to abduct Helen,
The beauty who bred danger where she trod.
The oath assumed a greater importance
In the development of the Trojan War.

Helen was married to Menelaus,
A warrior, on his highest offerings.
On king’s death, he became the king of Sparta.
Helen bore a daughter; nine years rolled.

Paris, a Trojan Prince, came to Sparta
To marry Helen, whom he had been promised
By Aphrodite, after he had chosen her
As the fairest of all the goddesses

So that she could claim the golden apple
Thrown by the Goddess, Eris, from anger
Of not being invited by King Peleus
For his marriage to Sea Nymph Thetis.

Once Paris arrived in the house,
And Menelaus was fated to leave it,
Helen eloped with Paris to Trojan.
The war broke, all suitors participated

The war lasting for over nine years,
Helen lived these years as a willing captive,
More to the design of Aphrodite.
It is unfair to brand her as unfaithful..

The end of the war was brought about
Through the Trojan horse built and left ashore,
With their heroes hidden in it. The foes
Drew the horse into the fort for their fate.

The heroes sacked the city and captured
And caged the fairest queen to her shame.
The Greeks and the Trojans despised her alike.
No woman of her status could be that worst.

Menelaus was to slay his faithless wife.
As he raised his sword, , she dropped her robe
From her shoulders, revealing her assets.
It made him let the sword dropp from his hand.

Helen defied Aphrodite to remain
With Paris, who was soon to meet his death.
Her woes about her hasty decision
To leave Sparta and her spouse crippled her.

‘I will not serve his bed since the Trojan women
Hereafter would laugh at me, all, and my heart
Even now is confused with sorrow’
Helen lamented thus to Aphrodite.

Helen returned as the queen of Sparta.
Chastity, outraged, could be recovered;
Women are resilient, given a chance.
Helen is a proof for all men to note.

How Helen looked, no clues;
Yet her name has power
To inflame men’s heart, ho!

My Stories Of You (chapter eleven)

The whales are fishing our hearts, from the other side of the world
proof that the giants were missing something important
as we all do.
It's almost like the battle of Troy,
heroes killing one another on the Plains of Love,
for the chance that maybe
maybe
you love them too.
And you are white and freckled, as the creatures on the moon,
that dance with the sun in his great eclipses.
You're a miracle of a girl,
beyond the beauty of Cleopatra or Helen of the Troy.
Even the great Babylon lost, in it's bet to reach you, so
how can you expect me
to remain untouched
by this impossible love of yours.

Grilling my heart in hell, at the cost of your love,
I break all the bottles,
and let the sins come out once again.
Mouth full of love, I take all I can get
before you'll refuse my kisses forever.

This land of brave words,
and eleventh part of a love,
is not even close to a masterpiece,
but it is the way I love you.
INSANELY

The Gods Love Nubia

Kelly Price---The Gods Love Nubia
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Tim Rice
Take me in my dreams recurring
Cheerful as a childhood dance
Into one more taste of freedom
One more longing backward glance
In the sway of somber music
I shall never, never understand
Let me slip into the sweeter
Chorus of that other land
The gods love Nubia, the beautiful, the golden
The radiant, the fertile, the gentle and the blessed
The pain of Nubia is only of the moment
The desolate, the suffering, the plundered, the oppressed
The gods love Nubia, the glorious creation
The songs roll sweetly across the harvest plain
The tears of Nubia, a passing aberration
They wash into the river and are never cried again
The gods love Nubia, we have to keep believing
The scattered and divided, we are still it's heart
The fall of Nubia, ephemeral and fleeting
The spirit always burning though the flesh is torn apart

Truly a New Year

With the New Year ahead for all; everyone upon this terrestrial ball,
Twelve more months, another year, for all upon this earthly sphere,
What ahead for you will change, when so much remains the same?
Are more New Year resolutions, in the coming year truly solutions?

With Christmas tidings all behind, do you have any peace of mind?
Or will you have just another year, in a world that lacks Godly fear?
A fear which brings true wisdom, in The Son, who, for all did come,
Christ came not just for a season, but, to give man Eternal Reason.

It is in Christ, God’s Own Son, that a year can be new for everyone,
All who turn to The Father above, and embrace His true gift of love.
God’s Gift that transforms a soul, which can make man truly whole,
By a change that you will find, gives more than just peace of mind.

This New Year is just the start, as God begins to indwell your heart,
As The Holy Spirit dwells within, He’s a new guide in a world of sin,
A New Guide in this life presently, to a New Life with God Eternally,
New earthly life in Jesus Christ, that ends for Believers in Paradise.

It’s change that starts down here, approaching God in reverent fear,
While accepting from our Creator, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior.
So allow the year to be truly new, as you allow God to abide in you,
And begin a New Life Eternally, as a Member of God’s Own Family.

Blue Roses Just For You,
to show my love,
desire, to hold you tight,
know this we our right.

Blue Roses Just For You,
my heart so full
over flowing now, and
remembering our vow.

Blue Roses Just For You,
with your tenderness,
here for a while, I'll stay,
while you make my heart sway.

Blue Roses Just For You,
to show my love,
give I these roses to you my dear,
hope to spend with you, many a year.

Cleopatra's Needle

Riding upon a swift cloud,
Is like he who sits above the circles;
Add year to year,
Add a muse to your life;
Like Cleopatra's needle in the bedroom.
Life is like a flying serpent,
To spread it out with a shovel;
Like the bread of adversity with,
The water of affliction around you.

Heaviness and sorrow,
When a thirsty man dreams, what does he see?
Cleopatra's needle with the muse,
The wind blows the snow about;
Drunkenwith it's love is my mind on this muse.
Cleopatra'a needle,
The meek will increase their joy on this earth;
The workman moulds an image,
The goldsmith overlays it with gold;
But the grave cannot thank you for your works.

Cleopatra's needle,
A precious cornerstone is all that i am;
Like a short bed to strechout when, all hope is gone.
The spirit of deep sleep,
Knowledge and discretion to the youth;
Mind you, the world is influenced by demonic spirits.

Synergy of Love

'Were you honed from poetry? '
I asked your saddened smile.
For it seems to tell a longing tale -
One of words in oratory
That speaks in languid metaphors
From lips of mind in deep despair
And solitude from inner wars
That over time has rendered life so frail.

'Were you carved from doleful prose? '
I sought to ask your gaze,
For a pain lies deep within your eyes -
One of barren territory
Where no fair heart could ever drift
And hope to venture back content
With grateful memories in a gift -
A land of your affectional demise.

'Do I hear a mournful hum? '
I wondered of your cry,
For it sings a song of deep lament -
One of quiet soliloquy
Recited on deserted strands
To waves that have no sense of song
And only wish to fight the sands -
A chant that cites emotional descent.

Do you know your face portrays
The colours of your soul?
It tells me at a single glance
Of how you burned your furnace whole
To stay the fire in our romance.

And see the prismic hues they bore!
I cherished all I ever saw:
Mauve of mystic; browns of rustic;
Reddened tones to match your blush;
Marine of passion, spending out your being,
Leaving you for ashen embers, fleeing
The dying light in hush of night.
And how you lay there empty.

So let me help re-grow the flowers
Once erect in fiery showers!
For now I've seen what love can do
When torn asunder - oh my catastrophic blunder!

But we must realise -
Our flaming want is meant to be!
We are the ocean and the sea;
The earth and moon; the sturdy tree:
All that makes the 'You and Me.'
And this is why I ache.
I wish to start again with thee,
In close and gripping
Synergy of love.

A brief tribute to George Seferis, poet

When the gods allot
a time, a place, to those so mortal
mortals whom they love to test,

is it a greater gift they give to poets,
to live in a land of honeybees
and sun and sea and heroes sung, a land
assured, content, of gods and marble,
temples, amphitheatres, history,

or in that land in times of tragedy,
starvation, misery, division,
internal war and conquered servitude?

Ultimate, the irony – how can the gods
think up such things? – to be
ambassador, to represent a land
from which to have been exiled half a life;
exiled from within and exiled from without.

The love the gods bestow (the Chorus cries)
is terrifying; strange; to be hard learned.

Sonnet LXXXVII: Death's Songsters

When first that horse, within whose populous womb
The birth was death, o'ershadowed Troy with fate,
Her elders, dubious of its Grecian freight,
Brought Helen there to sing the songs of home;
She whispered, “Friends, I am alone; come, come!”
Then, crouched within, Ulysses waxed afraid,
And on his comrades' quivering mouths he laid
His hands, and held them till the voice was dumb.
The same was he who, lashed to his own mast,
There where the sea-flowers screen the charnel-caves,
Beside the sirens' singing island pass'd,
Till sweetness failed along the inveterate waves. . . .
Say, soul,—are songs of Death no heaven to thee,
Nor shames her lip the cheek of Victory?

Love Sonnet 19 I always aim for chance to catch your eye,

I always aim for chance to catch your eye,
To regal you with all the things you like,
Go places in the hope to pass you by,
Be it on hills or streams, so goes my hike;
Much like a diver of a pearl so rare,
I scour the deeps or shores where waves do break,
As mountaineer, that to summits would dare,
None proves so high to keep me from the peak;
Yet, in my search for songs akin to yours,
Not one Naiad I found singing your art,
Will Sphinx so known for quaint riddle it roars,
Guess rightly all the puzzles of your heart?
.......My hope is Aphrodite to guide your mirth,
.......Along the ways to give this love its birth.

Troy

I’ve been counting down the days to
see the shoeing of my beautiful horse
bandit
he has bad feet because
he was run hard in barrel racing
and put away wet
by the people who owned him before I did
I was taking my last ride on him
for the week
or that’s what I thought
at 3pm troy drove up
I told him all the angles he needed to shoe
my baby
I let him be and do his thing
I came back a hour latter see how he was doing
and to offer some water
cause of
the kind hearted person I am
he said I may have to stay off bandit for a while
I didn’t think that meant
A WHOLE YEAR
that man messed bandit’s feet up so bad that now
I couldn’t ride him for a year
it wasn’t fair to bandit he didn’t do anything
to deserve a whole year of pain
It wasn’t fair to me either cause
that is one of the strongest way to build your confidence up
and bond with your horse
I love riding horses
I have 11 other horses
I have to ride on a normal day
but bandit is my baby
and my best friend
and when you mess with my friends
you’ve crossed the line
but when you’ve messed with my horse
if I could I’ll screw over your life
cause when you do that you’ve gone way to far
y’all
my horse is my best friend
my companion
my bond for life
my everything
why my horse troy
why bandit
why troy

Spare Me A Little Of Your Love

Written by christine mcvie.
Why not lie here in my arms
And listen to the night
You must know you have certain charm
And I feel the time is right
So spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little of your love (of your love)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)

Oh in every single way
And its not the same as before
It gets stronger everyday
So spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little of your love (of your love)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)
Spare me a little (just a little bit)

Now I know how the sun must feel
Every time it shines
And now I know this is real
And I want you to be mine

Can We

Can we write of centuries past of things
That we do not know, and can we recall
Things we read which puts our hearts aglow.

Can we feel Romeos words as he called to Juliet.
And can we feel Juliet s heart as she looked down
From her balcony.
when she felt her heart bursting
Wanting to be free.

Can we see Sampson and Delilah as
She cut off his hair.
Did she do it out of spite
Or did she really care.

Can we see Helen of troy s reaction
When they climbed out of the wooden horse
Did she truly love him, and did she feel remorse.

Can we feel MARY S pain as she had
To give up her begotten son
And did others feel the pain
Or was she the only one.

Can we imagine being nailed to that cross.
And the clothes that the soldiers did not keep
to the ground it would be tossed.

Can we imagine if we did not have
Hope, love, and faith
This is something I care not to contemplate.

Can we live without love-how would we survive
“CAN WE” ?

Medusa’s Kiss. by Ray Subrata

The trends of gorgons,
From Greek to Modern go on,
And desert hearts seek oasis,
The vital trance of Medusa’ kiss.

Vitality’s beauty, -a fire to flame,
Passions’ blind fury sustains the claim.
Back to the Trojan war, Paris’ Helen,
The stooping of Roman emperors’
To gorgon glory of Cleopatra’s game,
The sway is, Medusa ‘s name,

However fake cloth you constantly wear,
An appeal within of Medusa you bear!

Love Me Madly

YOU KNOW YOUR MAKING ME NERVOUS,
I DON'T KNOW IF THE WORLD DESERVES US,
YOUR'E DOING THINGS I WOULDN'T MENTION,
YOU HAVE A HUNGER FOR ATTENTION.
YOU KNOW YOUR'E MAKING ME FRANTIC,
IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE ROMANTIC?
YOUR'E LIKE THE WOMAN OUT OF SPECIES,
I THINK I'M GONNA GO TO PIECES.
YOU NEVER DO RIGHT,
YOUR'E DOING WRONG,
YOU'D BETTER GET BACK WHERE YOU BELONG,
YOU NEVER DO RIGHT,
YOUR'E DOING WRONG
THEN RUNNING TO ME.
LOVE ME WELL OR LOVE ME BADLY,
PLEASE DON'T ALWAYS LOVE ME MADLY,
STAY FOR LIFE OR LEAVE ME SADLY,
DO YOU HAVE TO?
YOU KNOW YOUR MAKING ME ANXIOUS,
YOU KNOW THAT EVERYBODY BLANKS US,
YOUR LIKE A COCKTAIL SET ATTILA,
A KIND OF HOLYCON GUERILLA,
YOU KNOW I'M HEADING FOR A CRACKUP,
YOUR'E GETTING EVERYBODYS BACK UP,
I'M GETTING READY FOR A FREAKOUT,
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOUR'E RIGHT TO SPEAKOUT?
YOU NEVER BACK DOWN YOU'D RATHER FIGHT,
YOUR READY FOR COMBAT DAY OR NIGHT,
YOU NEVER BACK DOWN,
YOU START THE FIGHT,
THEN RUN BEHIND ME.
LOVE ME WELL OR LOVE ME BADLY,
DO YOU HAVE TO LOVE ME MADLY?
STAY FOR LIFE OR LEAVE ME SADLY,
DO YOU HAVE TO?
I FEEL I'M GETTING RATHER TENSE,
AT THE TURN OF THESE EVENTS,
I WANT TO RUN AWAY AND HIDE,
BUT YOU KEEP DRAGGING ME INSIDE,
I'M TETHERED TO A TRAINEE HELLCAT,
I'M FEELING JEALOUS OF THE DOORMAT,
I'M NEARLY FAINTING WITH THE TENSION,
ONE DAY WE'LL END UP IN DETENTION,
YOU NEVER BACK DOWN YOU'D RATHER FIGHT,
YOUR READY FOR COMBAT DAY OR NIGHT,
YOU NEVER BACK DOWN,
YOU START THE FIGHT,
THEN RUN BEHIND ME.
LOVE ME WELL OR LOVE ME BADLY,
DO YOU HAVE TO LOVE ME MADLY?
STAY FOR LIFE OR LEAVE ME SADLY,
PLEASE DON'T ALWAYS LOVE ME MADLY,
LOVE ME WELL OR LOVE ME BADLY,
DO YOU HAVE TO LOVE ME MADLY,
BE MY FRIEND REJECT ME GLADLY,
PLEASE DON'T ALWAYS LOVE ME MADLY,

0011 For the Godless but good-natured

If mankind has dethroned the ancient gods,
then what has mankind brought upon itself?

since - no more prayer, requests – no special treats
for those who offer up humility?

no god above the lesser gods – the One
who favoured those who followed ‘our’ stern creed;

no longer faith, or hope, or charity,
no longer blest by loving-kindliness?

what shall we place upon those empty thrones
and still avoid the legion of Man’s sins?

those virtues which our forefathers saw as good –
which made the gods to smile – have they now changed

and Lying, Cheating, Killing, our new gods?
it cannot be.. so what of Reason’s rule?

and what of Love – that even the gods themselves
declared the essence, binding ‘them’ and ‘us’?

so Reason says – what godly things we sought
by some divine decree declared ‘out there’

we must now seek within ourselves; as did
the Greeks; as do the Hindus now;

and find a glorious god within, at rest
until we waken him or her, and shine

as godly good in our most inward self;
believe ourselves so wholly perfect thus,

remembering in ourselves, magnificence
which pours out glory as those gods declared..

but where to start? with gratitude; and praise;
for all those things which so enrich our days;

for thanks and praise in life stand by themself;
they call forth love, which makes all things, oneself.
