The Stand-Ins
In the dream
the swastika is neon
and flashes like a strobe light
into my eyes, all colors,
all vibrations
and I see the killer in him
and he turns on an oven,

and on a pie plate he sticks
in my Yellow Star

then when it is ready for serving—
this dream goes off into the wings
and on stage The Cross appears,
with Jesus sticking to it

About You And The Old American
to please you and your old and rich American
'lover', i decided to take you to
Tabancura Cafe where
indigenous paintings are on
exhibit on that day
first we had coffee and some
sticky rice delicacies and ripe mangoes
then the American (was his named Ted
for Teddy Bear?) begins to view
indigenous art, from softdrink tansans
to plastic straw and
drift wood and used
tissue, and from which he
said ' Honey, we have to go now,
we will be late for the show in Dakak.
This is garbage! '
Then both of you are gone
and i am left out
alone again in the art works of
my countrymen.
I sleep early that time
after drinking beer
and i dream about myself swimming
in the river of garbage with Manny Villar.
Weird.
i wake up profusely sweating
goes to the ref got a glass of cold water
and drink
take a deep breath and
walk my way to bed again
i pray that i may not dream again
about garbage
that i may not even remember about both of you
(garbage too
you, whose dream is it to go away from the poverty
of this country)
that i may not remember this political mess
of lies and deception
and more corruption to come
after this year's election.

Dreaming of dreams
Some times you dream but some times you don’t
What happens in your dreams?
Some know and some don’t

Deep Water
I'm drowning, I'm sinking.
down. down. down.
I can breath but not a lot.
I reach for the surface,
but someone pushes me deeper down.
I look up to see the waves above my head.
I'm drowning, deeper. deeper. deeper.
I can't seem to catch myself.
Help! I scream, but no one hears me.
Is it all a dream? I ask.
Is it only a nightmare? I ask.
No. it's real. I tell myself. It's real.
I'm going even deeper,
then out of the blue,
someone reaches in and pulls me out.
I'm soaking wet at first,
but then I feel dry all of a sudden.
All my pain, soarness, agravation, hurt, and anger,
he took away from me.
Now I am calm, happy, considerate, and pasionate.
I am eaisy to let it go.
I am no longer drowning, and i never get to deep.
I know know how to float.
