The Goal Of Poetry
it is simply to reach
out to people
with our verbal hands
these mental arms
and make them
look

One Day
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek,
Deeper and deeper I try and deeper and deeper I need
Forgive me
4x
And all I see is your face
2x
The deeper and deeper I fall, deeper and deeper I seek
Deeper and deeper I try, the deeper and deeper I need
The deeper and deeper I fail, deeper and deeper I read
Deeper and deeper I cry, the deeper and deeper I feed
Caught up in this game of life, me against you
Not doing what I should, just the things that I want to
So wrapped up, terrified of what I become
Outside Im laughing, inside Im numb
I cant see the light because it blinds me
Try to forget but my past always remidns me
Exposed, looked on by eyes of grace
Im so ashamed, dont look at my face
All I see is your face
4x
Get up by your strength, I rise up to thee
But Ill stay on my face if you will of me
Shape and mold me til your though
Humble myself, life laid down before you
I need your wisdom, so the truth I keep on living
And your love will always be a part of me
Cant do a thing, if I aint living for the kind
So dont ever leave or take your eyes off me
Its not who you are its who youre living for
Trials and tribulations will come

Deeper, Dig Deeper
Deeper, dig deeper
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
Get a little closer
You dont have to be afraid
You have to trust your inner pilot
Dont let it drift away
Dig a little deeper
You gotta get it in your soul
Reach out with your spirit
And let your feelings show
Deeper, deeper, dig, dig, deeper, deeper
You cant deny the feeling
That touches you inside
When youre tired and lonely
You dont have to lose your pride.
Take the time to listen
Stay a little while
Got a song to sing for you
Let the music get you higher, higher.

Deeper
I cant even look at this skin tonight
Knowing that our time here is on a while
Hold me in your arms and breathe me through
Like I know that you can only do
In your horizon, no, nothing truly dies
Never tremble with fear
Youre just married to the sun
And every second only makes it deeper
Flower pushes through the dune (? ) and blooms
It doesnt have the faintest(? ) that it is due
A virginity is making loss an open wound
In your horizon, no, nothing truly dies
Never tremble with fear
Youre just married to the sun
And every second only makes it deeper
Deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper
I was alone in my room
And all I can hear
And all I can hear
Was the sound of my heart beating away
But I will follow you
Deep into the light
Beyond the death of love
Love
In your horizon, no, you will be together
Faith(? ) from this hell
Ill be married to the sun
And every second
Will only make it deeper
Deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper
Deeper, deeper
Deeper, deeper
There is a light
Deeper, light
Its deeper than the difference of light
Deeper, light
There is a light
Deeper, light
Its deeper than (..) light
Deeper, light
And I will follow you
Deeper than the death of love
Deeper than the (..) seen(? ) to the light
Its deeper than this flesh and blood
I will follow you
I will follow you
Deeper

Deeper Side
Ive found a reason to dig deep down.
Theres a part of you that I aint found thats in your deeper side.
Instead of wondering what I should do,
I tried to learn a couple things about you from your deeper side.
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
That I would give most anything to see.
Theres a lot of things that I would know
If you would let me climb into your soul and see your deeper side.
Everybody always seems so pure,
Then they show you what their heart stands for in their deeper side.
Show me your, yeah. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
I would give most anything to see.
You think the world has got your number now.
You cry about it but you know somehow its your deeper side.
I heard you wishing you were someone else
But all thats stopping you from being yourself is your deeper side.
So, show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Please, show me your deeper side. (show me your deeper side)
Oh, show me your deeper side. (its a mystery)
I would give most anything, and, I would give most anything.
You would give most anything to see.
Show me your deeper side.

A Love that is:
Deeper than the deepest Sea,
Deeper than all Love can be,
Deeper than the mystery,
That has bonded you to me.
For there is no deeper love,
Than a love that cannot be,
Yet endures the depth of Time,
With deepest melancholy.
And so, deeply I can see,
What this love has done for me,
I have travelled into space,
In a state of utter grace.
Deeper than Life's mystery,
Deeper than the sky, the sea,
Deeper than all ecstasy,
Love is Immortality.

It's a Feeling Deeper
There is a certain meaning to it.
For people who are born to do this.
It's not on the surface to depict.
With an easy category to assign to it.
It's a feeling deeper.
There is a certain meaning to it.
For people who are born to do this.
It's just not what it appears to exist.
This 'thing' is deeper.
Below a surface reached for 'it'.
It's a feeling deeper.
That's deep.
Deeper,
And from below a surface that must be exposed.
This 'thing' gets deeper,
And those knowing it want it shown not kept unknown.
It's a feeling deeper that's deep.
Deeper that's deep.
It's a feeling deeper.
It's not on the surface to depict.
With an easy category to assign to it.
It's a feeling deeper that's deep.
Deeper that's deep.
It's just not what it appears to exist.
This 'thing' is deeper.
Below a surface reached for 'it'.
It's a feeling deeper that's deep.
Deeper that's deep.
It's a feeling deeper.
That's deep.
Deeper that's deep.
Deeper.
Deeper.
It's a feeling deeper.
That's deep.
Deeper that's deep.
Much deeper.
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper.
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper!
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper!
Much much deeper!
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper.
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper!
How can anyone connect it.
Deeper!
Much much deeper!

Deeper
She moves with a tender kiss
And I can't stop feeling
She soothes with a tenderness
And I can't stop feeling
Oh I don't even know her name
But I can't stop feeling
She says that she feels the same
But I can't stop feeling
And if you let me try tonight,
You just might see that...
I'm falling deeper and deeper and deeper
In love
And I'm feeling more and more and more
and more and more alone
Oh yeah
She turns her lies into art
And I can't stop feeling
One touch and I fall apart
And I can't stop feeling
It sounded like an old clich
But I can't stop feeling
I love her in a thousand ways
And I can't stop feeling
And if you let me try tonight, well you just might see that...
I'm falling deeper and deeper and deeper
In love
And I'm feeling more and more and more and
more and more alone
Oh yeah
Well every simple notion
Is poetry in motion
Oh can't you see it's pushing me over the edge
This wrecking ball you're holding
Has crushed the hearts you've stolen
I'll give you my devotion all over again
And if you let me try tonight, you just might see that I'm...
That I'm falling deeper and deeper and deeper
In love
And I'm feeling more and more and more and
more and more alone
yeah
And I'm falling deeper and deeper and deeper
In love
And yet I'm feeling more and more and more
and more and more alone
Oh yeah

Im Only Looking
I hear voices
Inside my head
Can I deceive
Can I believe
My whispering friends
What do I hear
About war and peace
What do I hear
About love and sex
Im delirious
For an answer
Im delirious
For an answer
Taking me deeper
And deeper in mind
Taking me deeper
And deeper in mind
Fascination for
Limits of love
Should I aim higher
And higher and higher
Will I break you
Like some possession
To leave my lesson
Taking me deeper
And deeper in mind
Taking me deeper
And deeper in mind
Im only looking
Taking me deeper
And deeper in mind

Deeper Than It's Now
Deeper than it's now...
What happens next,
Can be expected.
And it's deeper than it's now...
What happens next,
Will be effective.
And it's deep than it's now...
All bets are off.
New routes have been installed.
And it's,
Deeper than it's now.
What happens next.
And it's,
Deeper than it's now.
And it's deep than it's now...
All bets are off.
New routes have been installed.
And it's,
Deeper than it's now.
What happens next.
And it's,
Deeper than it's now.
What happens next.
And it's,
Deeper than it's now.
What happens next.
What happens next...
Is,
Deeper than it's now!

Deeper And Deeper
Deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper
Sweeter and sweeter and sweeter and sweeter
Chorus:
I can't help falling in love
I fall deeper and deeper the further I go
Kisses sent from heaven above
They get sweeter and sweeter the more that I know
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything
That's what my mama told me
Round and round and round you go
When you find love you'll always know
I let my father mold me
Bridge:
Daddy couldn't be all wrong
[Not gonna let you slip away

Deep Water
I'm drowning, I'm sinking.
down. down. down.
I can breath but not a lot.
I reach for the surface,
but someone pushes me deeper down.
I look up to see the waves above my head.
I'm drowning, deeper. deeper. deeper.
I can't seem to catch myself.
Help! I scream, but no one hears me.
Is it all a dream? I ask.
Is it only a nightmare? I ask.
No. it's real. I tell myself. It's real.
I'm going even deeper,
then out of the blue,
someone reaches in and pulls me out.
I'm soaking wet at first,
but then I feel dry all of a sudden.
All my pain, soarness, agravation, hurt, and anger,
he took away from me.
Now I am calm, happy, considerate, and pasionate.
I am eaisy to let it go.
I am no longer drowning, and i never get to deep.
I know know how to float.

Love Is The Seventh Wave
In the empire of the senses
Youre the queen of all you survey
All the cities all the nations
Everything that falls your way
There is a deeper wave than this
That you dont understand
There is a deeper wave than this
Tugging at your hand
Every ripple on the ocean
Every leaf on every tree
Every sand dune in the desert
Every power we never see
There is a deeper wave than this
Swelling in the world
There is a deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
Feel it rising in the cities
Feel it sweeping over land
Over borders, over frontiers
Nothing will its power withstand
There is no deeper wave than this
Rising in the world
There is no deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
All the bloodshed, all the anger
All the weapons, all the greed
All the armies, all the missiles
All the symbols of our fear
There is a deeper wave than this
Rising in the world
There is a deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
At the still point of destruction
At the centre of the fury
All the angels, all the devils
All around us cant you see
There is a deeper wave than this
Rising in the land
There is a deeper wave than this
Nothing will withstand
I say love is the seventh wave

Deep Water
Is it a crime for me to be feeling this way
I'm going out of my mind and there's
no change from a runaway love
Is it a dream (is it a dream)
That I'm throwing in the wishing well
I'm losing control my body and soul
(body and soul)Standing here waiting
for a train that may never come
I saw the signs I read the books
I should of had a second look
ut you caught me dreaming
nd there were times you'd come around a
we'd agreed to just be friends tell
me who it's fooling oooo
Deep water I'm drowning
Deep water I'm slowly drowning in deeper
Deep water I'm drowning
Deep water I'm slowly drowning in deeper
what do I say(what can I say)
where words have failed me before
what do i do when i'm feeling so blue
and there's no place for me to run and hide
I saw the sun inside your smile and wished
for then just awhile cause boy you caught
me dreaming a giant step into the dark
and we through caution to the wind tell
me who we're fooling oooo
Deep water I'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
Deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning deeper
i'm drowning
deeper deeper i'm drowning in deeper
oh i saw the signs i read the book
i should have had a second look
cause boy you caught me dreaming
and there are times youd come around
and we'd agreed to just be friends tell me who it's fooling
Deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
deep water i'm drowning
deep water i'm slowly drowning in deeper
deeper deeper deeper
i'm drowning in deeper
(drowning in drowning in drowning in)
deeper deeper deeper
so deep is the water
(drowning in drowning in drowning in)

Somewhere In Time
Somewhere in time
Our love will grow stronger
Deeper and deeper, how sublime
Our promises will never waver
In your sweet embrace
Hold me tight forever
Until there is no more space
To breath, to kiss, to whisper
I long to be deeper and deeper in love
With you by my side, soaring above the storm
Somewhere in time, the moon and stars above
Will shine on us in early morn.

You are into a relationship
You are on a ship
In a traveling crowd
Alone
And you look at the sea
You have no direction
And seeing you lonely
The sea says
“come into me
my love for you is boundless
my resources for you are limitless”
and you look at yourself
on a ship
you have no choice
you have nothing to lose
you take nothing with you
and you jump
into a relationship
with the sea
the sea makes love to you
you feel nothing
you sink
you sink deeper & deeper
into a relationship
and you feel
you are all wrapped
all over with its waves
your arms bound
your hands can not move
you can not help yourself anymore
you sink
you sink deeper & deeper & deeper
you see everything about the sea
the sea loves you
with all its resources
with all its love
you feel nothing
you sink
you sink deeper
you feel nothing
you are dead
you were already dead
a long long time ago
when you were
on that ship
you did not make any scream against your own shadow

Saving Grace
Night and day I seek Your face
Long for You in the secret place
All I want in this life
Is to truly know you more...
As the waters cover the sea,
So Your love covers me
Guiding me on,
Roads unkown
I trust in You alone
CHORUS
My Saving Grace
My endless love
Deeper and deeper I'm falling in love with You
My one desire
My only truth
Deeper and deeper I'm falling in love with you
BRIDGE
And I will rise on wings of eagles
Soaring high above all my fears
I rest in Your open arms of love

Deeper Well
(dave ohey/daniel lanois/emmylou harris)
The sun burned hot, it burned my eyes
Burned so hot I thought Id died
Thought Id died and gone to hell
Lookin for the water from a deeper well
I went to the river but the river was dry
I fell to my knees an I looked to the sky
I looked to the sky and the spring rain fell
I saw the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
I was ready for love I was ready for the money
Ready for the blood and ready for the honey
Ready for the winnin, ready for the bell
Lookin for the water from a deeper well
I found some love and I found some money
Found that blood would drip from the honey
Found I had a thirst that I could not quell
Lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well I did it for kicks and I did it for faith
I did it for lust and I did it for hate
I did it for need and I did it for love
Addiction stayed on tight like a glove
So I ran with the moon and I ran with the night
And the three of us were a terrible sight
Nipple to the bottle to the gun to the cell
To the bottom of a hole of a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
I rocked with the cradle and I rolled with the rage
I shook those walls and I rattled that gage
I took my trouble down a deadend trail
Reachin out a hand for a holier grail
Hey there mama did you carry that load
Did you tell your baby bout the bend in the road
bout the rebel yell bout the one that fell
Lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well
Well...lookin for the water from a deeper well

Soulwound
A tortured whipping dog defiled
Stalked by oblivion and denial
Scarring lacerations
Hopeless devistation
The cuts, cut deeper
The cuts, cut deeper
The cuts, cut deeper, deeper, deeper
These wounds are small slices of death
Draining my soul and final breath
Self-inflicted dementia
Bone shallow gravedigger
Repeat second verse
Chorus:
Soulwound
Soulwound (x2)
Repeat chorus
Soulwounds I can not conceal
These wounds are so hard to heal
Repeat first verse
