Ralph Waldo Emerson

To Rhea

Thee, dear friend, a brother soothes,
Not with flatteries, but truths,
Which tarnish not, but purify
To light which dims the morning's eye.
I have come from the spring-woods,
From the fragrant solitudes;
Listen what the poplar tree,
And murmuring waters counselled me.

If with love thy heart has burned,
If thy love is unreturned,
Hide thy grief within thy breast,
Though it tear thee unexpressed.
For, when love has once departed
From the eyes of the false-hearted,
And one by one has torn off quite
The bandages of purple light,
Though thou weft the loveliest
Form the Soul had ever dressed,

Thou shalt seem in each reply
A vixen to his altered eye;
Thy softest pleadings seem too bold,
Thy praying lute shall seem to scold.
Though thou kept the straightest road,
Yet thou errest far and broad.
But thou shalt do as do the gods
In their cloudless periods:
For of this lore be thou sure,
Though thou forget, the gods secure
Forget never their command,
But make the statute of this land:
As they lead, so follow all,
Ever have done, ever shall.
Warning to the blind and deaf,
'Tis written on the iron leaf,
Who drinks of Cupid's nectar cup
Loveth downward and not up;
Therefore who loves, of gods or men,
Shall not by the same be loved again;
His sweetheart's idolatry
Falls in turn a new degree.

When a god is once beguiled
By beauty of a mortal child,
And by her radiant youth delighted,
He is not fooled, but warily knoweth,
His love shall never be requited;
And thus the wise Immortal doeth.
'Tis his study and delight
To bless that creature, day and night,
From all evils to defend her,
In her lap to pour all splendor,
To ransack earth for riches rare,
And fetch her stars to deck her hair;
He mixes music with her thoughts,
And saddens her with heavenly doubts;
All grace, all good his great heart knows,
Profuse in love the king bestows,
Saying, Hearken, Earth! Sea! Air!
This monument of my despair
Build I to the All-Good, All-Fair.
Not for a private good,
But I from my beatitude,
Albeit scorned as none was scorned,
Adorn her as was none adorned.
I make this maiden an ensample

To nature through her kingdoms ample,
Whereby to model newer races,
Statelier forms, and fairer faces,
To carry man to new degrees
Of power, and of comeliness.
These presents be the hostages
Which I pawn for my release;
See to thyself, O universe!
Thou art better and not worse. —
And the god having given all,
Is freed forever from his thrall.

Confessions of a Bound Soul

Brother, my brother,
How selfish was I
While you seemed to struggle,
I sat idly by

Brother, my brother
Yes, try as I might
I now realize
It was also my fight

Brother, my brother
Now look at your arm
It's cold and immovable
Lost all its charm

Brother, my brother
Now look at your leg
There's so much left missing
Yet not once did you beg

Brother, my brother
Though I lost more in mass
It is you far more haunted
By our mistakes in the past

Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until this goes away

Brother, dear brother
Listen when I say
I will stick by your side
Until our final day

My Dear Friend

you have been there for me no matter what
you have pick me up when i fall down
my dear friend
you are the reason why i am still alive
you are the reason why i can love again
because of you i have the strength to fight against enemies
you understand the pain i'm going through
you make me stand up on my feet

my dear friend
you have always there waiting for my call
you have always put a smile on my face when i feel sad
my dear friend
what would i do without you
who would i be without you
you never avoided me like everybody else
god drift us apart
we no longer see each other face again

my dear friend
everything seems different and harder when you're here
my tears are like waterfall
they keep on falling
my dear friend
please come back into my life
holding hands in the darkness
sing our favorite song until we fall asleep
my dear friend
let finish what we has started together
alone it will take years

my dear friend
you fight my fight
you got my back
my dear friend
how could i thank you
what should i do to please you
oh my dear, dear friend
it is a pleasure to have you as a friend
thank you my dear, dear friend

Dear you are near.....

My dear your love and all your dear dreams.....
My dear you wish be here in my godly arms......

I will love this godly land.......
and wish our God will be here.......
On that clam and patient night of union
The beauty of verdurant dawn,
Over thy face shall fawn,
(Following lines filled by my friend)
That last mystic breath of nerves, that last beat
Of tremulous hearts, and the moist heat
Of your lips shall smother me neat.

My dear,
We are far, solitary flowers in love-woods
Waiting for spring to shufle our petals,
My dear,
You are near, flowing in my veins,

(my friend wants to add)
sliver of pain looming in the moony night
shiver of cool and don't be sad, that’s the moon
she shed her silver and opens
As her lips nuzzle my ear -...................
[sadness felt from you dear,
perhaps the moon will soothe
my heart and touch to smoothe
and heal my wondering mind
and again happiness, I will find? ]

When The Thin Filament Ceases

Like a light bulb that dims,
Those unconscious...
Are lost within.
And disconnected...
From their senses.
Like a light bulb that dims,
When the thin filament...
Ceases to burn and slowly ends.

A True Brother

A true brother is the one who
Builds an unbreakable bond with you
And it doesn't matter from where he came
Or if you were the same
It only matters that both of you share
Friendship, respect and care

A true brother may be old or even young
He may be also short or even long
Matter not the outside
Only look through him inside
If you found a pure gem,
Then this would be him

Don't say that your brother
Is only the son of your father
For he can be
Anyone you see
Anyone who shows loyalty
Accompanied by true principles pf morality

A true brother is the one who shows
Tolerance where ever he goes
A true brother is more than a friend
Where the formed friendship can never end
He is absolutely more than a buddy
He is like an organ in the body

A true brother is a hidden treasure
That conceals friendship's pleasure
He is the one who never lets you down
And never irritates you or makes you frown
And never leaves thee alone, but always be with you
When you're desperate, sad and glad too

A true brother is the one who you can trust
Because he knows that friendship is a must
Your secrets he'll never spread
In brief, it is true what is said
That a friend in need
Is a friend in deed

If God Could Give Us A New Brother?

If God could give us a new brother?
What type of broyher would he give us?
Would he be a very friendly brother?
If God could give us a new brother?
It would be nice to have a brother that listens to us
If God could give us a new brother?
Could he be our friend?
Could he share his feelings with us?
If God could give us a new brother?
Could he stop to put us down?
Could he show us his love?
If God could give us a new brother?
It would be impossible
Because there would had to be our mother and father
They would be the ones that could do it through God
Now it is history for us
Unless it is a friend that is humble
A friend that has some feelings and understanding
He could be our new brother
Brothers we can never change
Or get rid of
They are a part of us
Weather we like it or not

Who Am I To You?

Dear Dad,
Dear Mum,
Dear Brother,
Dear Sister,
Dear Friend,
Dear Lover,
Dear Reader,
Who am i to you?

I am like the dream you had last night,
But it was already gone when you were awake;
I am like the country and the blues you heard in the club last night,
But i was out of your mind so soon during daybreak;
I am like the Kinshasa Symphony and,
I will always remind you people of my true identity.

To my dear friend, who brought me back from a terrible place

A dear friend lifts you up,
brings you back from a hellish life.
A dear friend makes you smile,
even as tears stream down your face.
A dear friend shows you that life has meaning,
that your worth something and you belong.
A dear friend tells you how they care,
let you know that you are important and priceless to them.
A dear friend loves you no matter what,
no matter your imperfections or you faults.
A dear friend is always there,
to make it all better, to make your crappy day go away.
A dear friend is what everyone needs,
what everyone deserves.
A dear friend is given from God,
the greatest gift the heavens could ever give.

Thank you Buddy!

Fragrant Flowers

I think that we are ready
For flowers in our midst
All colors of the rainbow
The morning dew will kiss

Sunshine will feel so good again
As winter fades away
Oh, don’t you wish that spring
Could forever stay?

For spring is what brings with it
Flowers we love so much
Nothing like a spring bouquet
To give a happy touch

So hold on tight and wait a bit
For spring is on the way
Those fragrant cheerful flowers
Will be here without delay!

Black Mirror

Black Vs White
White Vs black
the mirror is against me
Or am i against the mirror?
we ARE the black Vs white
we are the dawn, battling the night
we are the stars in the evening sky
and we are the blood spilled in the hollow, dark night
we are brother and sister
Relatives yet foes
we will destroy each other
for you can't have one without the other
you look at me
i know your story
we will each scream in pain
and scream for glory
and watching the blood spill down your skin
i clutch your hand as the light dims
in killing you
i have killed myself
we are each others own personal black mirror
and as we fall down to the grave
i look at you as you try to pray
we may both die
but i have won
for the dark always covers the sun.
and as you cry while i clutch your hand
i whisper in your ear, so only you may hear
Dear brother, brother of mine
you are my black mirror
and now it is time.

To Catullus

My brother, my Valerius, dearest head
Of all whose crowning bay-leaves crown their mother
Rome, in the notes first heard of thine I read
My brother.

No dust that death or time can strew may smother
Love and the sense of kinship inly bred
From loves and hates at one with one another.

To thee was Caesar's self nor dear nor dread,
Song and the sea were sweeter each than other:
How should I living fear to call thee dead
My brother?

Tell me, O Swan, your ancient tale

Tell me, O Swan, your ancient tale.
From what land do you come,
O Swan? to what shore will you fly?
Where would you take your rest,
O Swan, and what do you seek?

Even this morning, O Swan, awake, arise, follow me!
There is a land where no doubt nor sorrow have rule:
where the terror of Death is no more.
There the woods of spring are a-bloom,
and the fragrant scent 'He is I' is borne on the wind:
There the bee of the heart is deeply immersed,
and desires no other joy.

Dear Brother

Recorded by hank williams, sr. (with audrey williams)
Words and music by hank williams, sr.
[c] dear brother, mama left us this morning
Deaths [g7] angels took her a-[c] way
Shes gone to meet daddy up there in heaven
But [g7] well meet again some [c] day. [c7]
She [f] left this world with a [c] smile on her face
Whispring the saviours [g7] name
[c] dear brother, mama left us this morning
For the [g7] city where is no [c] pain.
As I stood by her bedside, those last few moments
I lived my childhood again
I thought of you brother and of the old homestead
And my tears they fell like rain.

Hymn of Joy

To the music of Beethoven's ninth symphony

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee,
Praising Thee their sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Centre of unbroken praise:
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Blooming meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain,
Call us to rejoice in Thee.

Thou art giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Well-spring of the joy of living,
Ocean-depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our Brother, --
All who live in love are Thine:
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the Joy Divine.

Mortals join the mighty chorus,
Which the morning stars began;
Father-love is reigning o'er us,
Brother-love binds man to man.
Ever singing march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife;
Joyful music lifts us sunward
In the triumph song of life.

Brother...

More than the blood of my blood. He is my friend,
my rock...my brother.

Brother, in times of need, never judging, always there.

My Brother, could, would, always make things right.

Brother, never made much ado, about the task at
hand...he just did it.

Brother, who lifted me, when I was down.

Brother, who brought the laughter, amid the pain.

Brother, the word he never spoke...was 'no'.

Brother, who had the answers, to my questions.

Brother, who by example, did walk the path of right.

Brother, in all my years...in all my life, never have
I met another...like my loving brother.
