Wildfire
The border of this fire crackled and snapped.
It's undulating movement that moved
All over the earth's body.
It's leaping orange and red intertwined,
This fire in all it's glory made me scream.
It made me heat up, this fire of old and fire of new.
This fire's constant singing made me wonder how it had a voice.
But it did, sometimes lower and sometimes higher, and then
So high.
This fire was nature's mischief maker and he made mischief.
Of all the leaves, branches and trees around him,
And he made mischief on me.
One day I disclosed to all my friends,
This fire was not a true fire.
It didn't burn down anything,
But it so excited me that it did burn my heart.
It excited my whole body and burned through my soul.
This fire just lit up my life.
But this wildfire was no ordinary fire.
This wildfire was my lover.
For this there was no other.
For his mother had named my lover Wildfire.

Oh To Look With Eyes That See Forever...
With the gift of sight I opened my eyes
And surveyed this special world.
Earth… a whole planet full of wonders!
Life… both great and small!
A myriad of miracles within each one of us…
Blood coursing through our veins…
Nourishment hidden yet ever present.
Brain cells storing memories –
Both the vital and the trivial…
With every breath comes another thought,
Another chance to praise the Living God:
The Lord, the Giver of Life…
Here we are, nurtured deep in the Cosmos,
Unable to traverse the awesome expanse:
The Universe that comprises time and space!
Here we are, a world teeming with life,
Activity everywhere midst a measureless void!
We know not of future travels…
We merely exist, as if rehearsing for greater exploits.
Together, we, Mankind, must get our act together –

This is our ultimate destiny…
Not the conquering of worlds and galaxies…

An Arrogate Fool
I can’t play an instrument,
Yet, I can bang a warning on a drum!
I can’t sing a pleasant tune,
Yet, I have harmony in poetic form.
I will keep banging a warning, till you hear my song!
Having little money, but rich with friends hearing my cry!
A concert of drums for those in the know and not afraid to die,
Eerie sounds of night drums, at many tribes chants.
A Calvary charge rings out at an arrogant general’s behest.
The arrogant general heeded not the warning,
Of many tribes assembling drum fests.
The general and his men died in a circle,
With many arrows in their chest,
The arrogant general died disgraced,
Left to bleed out,
As his scalp was cut from his head…

I was taught to believe, and never to doubt
The man up above, knows what he's talking about.
So when I heard that voice, so loud and clear,
Speak to my heart I knew that she must be near.

Man's Curiosity Lands on Mars!
Of all the many galaxies,
The Maker chose just planet earth,
The third from sun in Milky Way,
For man to inhabit and thrive!
But man's curiosity didn't stop
By landing upon moon's surface!
One small step of Neil Armstrong meant
A giant leap for mankind's science!
Mars Rover Curiosity
Has touched down upon mars surface,
A feat of engineering skills -
A culmination of efforts!
But why search planets for new life?
Home earth has secrets much concealed;
Why waste money and time so far?
Cannot you develop life on earth?
Though curiosity of man
Is good for scientific research,
All know that earth is best for man,
And yet, they hunt for newer ground!
Kudos to scientists' great efforts!
Man's brain is doing things grandiose;
If only money's spent on earth,

Unforgettable harmony

First there was harmony
And there was rhyme
This was our time

Did we have harmony
And that's just about all we had!
Suddenly
A little harmony
And the poverty's not so bad
Thin, we were

Harmony
What harmony has Universe innate!
-The Maker’s unique gift to all earthlings;
If not for it, our existence would end,
And Creation would be a failure then.
One cell that goes autonomous in you
Can lead to malignancies that can kill;
One neuron that misfires can herald
Muscle spasms, Epilepsies and tics.
One gene that mutates, leads to disorders,
Defying therapy of any kind;
One organ failure affects body’s poise:
Its ultimate harmony and function.
One chromosomal aberration leads
To Inborn errors of metabolism;
One protein formed in lesser quantities,
Gives rise to problems one cannot cope with.
One star that hurtles onto earth can cause
Immense unnatural calamities;
One degree rise in temperature can
Melt down the mountain glaciers and ice.
What harmony intricate has God made!
Each speck of mass obeys Laws of Physics;
And many factors, yet unknown to man
Does play a crucial role in mankind’s fate.
