The Child In Me

Dont slow me down, just drive me away
The skies are grey today, I look at life that way
So put me on a plane, I may escape the rain
My friends are acting strange, things dont look the same
I guess the child in me, defines the way I see
I guess the child in me, defines the way I see
Miracles
Dont let me down, just live for today
The price is high you say, you look at life that way
So put me on a chain, I will escape again
Living by the book I say, would drive me insane
I guess the child in me, defines the way I see
I guess the child in me, defines the way I see
Miracles come my way
Through the eyes of a child I am spinning round
Through the eyes of a child I will work it out
I guess the child in me, defines the way I see
Through the eyes of a child
Through the eyes of a child

A Child Is Sweet Any Day Of The Week

A child that's born on a Monday
holds beauty in sight and mind.
A child that's born on a Tuesday
is graceful, sweet and kind.
A child that's born on a Wednesday
is a treasure, so they say.
A child that 's born on a Thursday
sees a quest with each new day.
A child that's born on a Friday
is loving and freely gives.
A child that's born on a Saturday
shows great work through how they live.
A child that's born on a Sunday
is happy, carefree and gay.
I guess you could say that a child is
special, no matter what the day.

Eyes of a child

Eyes of a child
Such gems in stones
Staring you close
Still as blue sky
They don't lie
Their sun is shining
While you are crying

Eyes of a child
Day or night
I got no light
Free as a child
I can be wild
Eyes of a child

Let them go, into the snow
Without your grace
There's a lot more to know
Just glance over their face

It's the eye of a child
Free and wild

Child don't think too much
Ain't no worry as such
Joy driven life they live
Half-a-soul they give

It's the eyes of a child
Free and wild

Save me child
Save me child
Set me free and wild
Eyes of my child

What Kind Of Mother?

What kind of mother wants her child to fail so badly? What kind of mother would do more than an enemy to hurt me? Don't you know that I am your own flesh and blood? Do you even care or are you keeping your secrets under a rug? Why are you so evil and have so much resentment in your heart? Its not my fault that your life has fallen apart? What kind of mother spits horrible words upon her child? And at the same time wants recognition for that same child. Well guess what? ... I made it without you! And guess what else? ... I have no sympathy for you! And at my graduation my heart was empty because of you. And my first child won't have a real grandmother because of you! And at the start of my college life I fail off because of you. And now when people give me hugs I look at them strange. And now when people show me love I dont know how to maintain. Thanks mom, for giving me the worst up bringing ill ever see. Thanks mom, for showing me you never cared about me. Guess now you can kick your feet up and laugh at me. While I continue to be a motherless child struggling to be. What kind of mother? ..

Broken child

I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has seen more than his young eyes should.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who would run away from it all if he could.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has been ravished by the likes of you and I.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child with to much pride to cry.
I see the face off a broken child.
a child who fights off anyone who cares.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wishes his mother was there.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wont let his hardships keep him down.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who refuses to give up and reveal a frown.

Child Come Away

Written by ricky & marty wilde
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
I read the story about a week ago
They found her on the beach that night
They thought the light had gone out of her eyes
And no-one thinks shell ever be right
She was so full of her life
Happy with the people she knew
But then no-one can tell
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
Guess all they found were some marks in the sand
A message saying she is mine
Nobody touched her as she got in the car
Well nobody dares to anytime
She was so full of her life
The girl that everybody once knew
But now no-one can tell
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
And when they read a story out to the judge
I heard they had to turn away
Its all over town
I saw her face in the back of a car
As they were speeding out of town
Shes got a mark on the side of her face
That no-ones ever seen around
And what she is or what shes become
I guess the town will never know
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why

Innocent Child

In the eyes of an innocent child, you see all, you know all.
In the eyes of an innocent child, you know why the sky is blue and the
leaves fall.
In the eyes of an innocent child, There is no peace and there is no
war.
In the eyes of an innocent child, There is only peaceful co-existance.

In the eyes of an innocent child, There is only here and now and
nothing in the distance.
In the eyes of an innocent child, there are the colours of the rainbow,
black and white.
In the eyes of an innocent child, Grey areas are not right.
We look at things in grey, black and white, but not like a rainbow.
Some say we even look through rose coloured glasses.
It would be nice if we could look at the world through the eyes of an
innocent child.

Lifesong

to a child very young
life is
happiness and fun

to a child getting bigger
life and school
seem to be getting bitter

to a child growing up
life and love
seem to be getting mixed up

to a child fully grown
life is about
making choices on your own

to a child with a child
life is about
making sure there life isn't wild

to a child getting old
life is about
keeping your family out of the cold

to a child old and grey
life is about
remembering the past things you used to say

to a child dead and gone
life was about
your one lifesong

The eyes of...

Looking into the eyes of my child I see...
The beginning of the life of me.

Looking into the eyes of my child I see...
The dreams that had belonged to me.

Looking into the eyes of my child i see...
She is learning how to live from me.

Looking into the eyes of my child I see...
She is growing apart and moving away from me.

Looking into the eyes of my child I see...
She is so different from me.

Looking into the eyes of my child I see...
The beginning of the life of me.

Old Child

Child. Old child,
No longer wild;
No longer speaking,
No longer beguiled;
I have become
A quiet old child.

Child. Old child,
No longer cold;
Never an old man,
Always too old;
I have become
An old child tenfold.

Child. Old child,
Forever a child;
Always rethinking,
Always exiled.
I should become
A happy old child.

Child. Old child.
Always soft-spoken;
No longer breaking,
Still being broken;
I have become
An old child, unspoken.

Child. Old child,
No longer bold;
By thinking, rethinking
Of stories untold,
All through my childhood,
I've become... old.

Your Loss

you dumped me
did you dump your kid too
one day your kid will
want to know about you

your child will ask why
why you dont care
why you dont see him
why arent you there

you child will want to know
everything about you
maybe come looking for you
then what will you do

your child will ask
what has he done
why you dont love him
why did you never come

your child will hurt
as long as he lives
wondering why
and what gives

you must be very
cold inside
hurting a child
why

i can give answers
try make him feel peace
but his
emptyness will never cease

your dumping your child
is mean and cruel
to him, not me
its your loss, you fool

Who Will Cry?

Who will cry for the little child who goes for days without food?
Who will cry for the little child who parents beat them?
Who will cry for the little child who is mistreated for being different?
Who will cry for the little child who goes unloved?
Who will cry for the little child whose stomach is swelled up?
Who will cry for the little child who doesn't have clothes to wear?
Who will cry for the little child who is shunned for not being popular?
Who will cry for the little child who is molested every night?
Who will cry for the little child who's parents are not around?
Who will cry for the little child who has to take care of his self?
Who will cry?
Will you cry?
Cause I have.

Eyes Of A Child

Listen hear the sound
The child awakes
Wonder all around
The child awakes
Now in his life he never must be lost
No thoughts must deceive him
In life he must trust
With the eyes of a child
You must come out and see
That your world's spinning 'round
And through life you will be
A small part
Of a hope
Of a love
That exists
In the eyes of a child you will see
Earth falls far away
New life awaits
Time it has no day
New life awwaits
Here is your dream and now how does it feel
No words will go with you
And now what is real?
With the eyes of a child
You must come out and see
That your world's spinning 'round
And through life you will be
A small part
Of a hope
Of a love
That exists
In the eyes of a child you will see

Runaway Child

Runaway Child, don’t have to take it anymore

Runaway Child, just walk out of that door

Runaway Child, no more chances to take

Runaway Child, it’s your choice to make

Runaway Child, aren’t you sick and tired of the pain

Runaway Child, here there’s nothing to gain

Runaway Child, you get treated like dirt

Runaway Child, get away from the hurt

Runaway Child, here it’s no use

Runaway Child, get away from the abuse

Runaway Child, you don’t have 9 lives

Runaway Child, take that step or dive

Runaway Child, why are you still there

Runaway Child, how much pain can you bear

Runaway Child, you don’t have to say goodbye

Runaway Child, say goodbye, when they DIE!

The silent child

The silent child is not a blind child
eyes wide open while yours are closed
you speak to much and listen less

this child of yours will take over
your own creation outsmarting you
he can now see between the cracks

the child realises you are not what you sayd
that you dont do what you say you do
the silent child knows but wont speak

Child Woman, Woman Child

Orbison/dees
Coo coo, thats you, wonder why I love you, you do voodoo, thunder clouds above you
Crazy, kooky, lazy spooky, oh what a clown, always around
And I have found youre a woman. child woman. woman child
Long legged woman when I see you walking you look good
Hey little woman when I hear you talking you sound good
Child woman, woman child youre driving me wild child woman woman child
Youre into my mind then youre out of my mind child woman
You wind and unwind my mind, time after time child woman ooh child woman, yeah child woman
Flying uptight, dont know where youre going, trying your kite when the wind is blowing
Funny lady, sunny, shady off to the fair, sun in your hair
Oh, youre aware youre a woman child woman, woman child
Strong minded woman when you start groovin you look fine
My kind of woman when you start movin you look fine
Child woman, woman child youre driving me wild child woman woman child

Monday's Child is Ill

Monday's child is ill, I'm told.
Tuesday's child has caught a cold.
Wednesday's child is down with the flu.
Thursday's child is feeling blue.
Friday's child can't eat any food.
Saturday's child is in a foul mood.
And the child that's born on the seventh day
Is the only child that feels okay.

A Child Is Dying

for every tree you cut down,
a child is dying.
for every barrel of oil that
you drill and spill,
a child is dying.
for every coal mine you
rape the earth with,
a child is dying.
for all the nuclear waste
you cannot dispose of,
a child is dying.

for every country you bomb,
a child is dying.
for every chemical you spray
on your vegetables,
a child is dying.

for every river you dam & drain,
a child is dying.
for every oil field you own,
a child is dying.

for every animal you drive
to the brink of extinction,
a child is dying.
for every smokestack, every sweatshop,
and every synthetic thought,
a child is dying.

for every tree you cut down....
