Sleepless
Gritty eyed and sleepless
I lie cool and empty.
Leaving a void in the bed,
A nullity,
Your body print remains
A soft indentation.
I kept your pillow
Trying to retain your fragrance
Till it soaked into the ether
Leaving only its memory
A sharp tanged essence.
But you had gone.

Visions
Kaleidoscopic visions of you
Flash fleetingly or ride majestically
On the cusp of my mind
In a rush of disjointed pictures.
The stark bare bones of your life;
The sum of its days.
Its tricle of hours.
Held fast like an insect in amber
Marching to your hearts tattoo
To conjuror the past - a replay.
Half remembered conversations.
A touch, a taste and kisses
Butterfly light that tingled the soul.
Your bright eyes, soft hair.
Settling the past into focus.
A flash of colour.
That emerald green dress.
As you danced carefree and joyous
Like you skipped in and out of my life
Leaving only the echo of your laughter.
Until one day you were absent.
To become a pale memory
Leaving only secondhand images.
A faded photographs.
Living only in the memory.

Void
I closed the doors to the Seasons
Leaving time void of any change
Leaving the Earth in solid limbo
Putting tomorrow out of range
Bringing a silent closing-if you will
A stillness to a barren view
I closed the door to all Seasons
Leaving nothing old-nothing new
Just an empty cavern-like abyss
A swirling of nothingness remains
Blank views are my past and present visions
Nothing will ever be the same!

Gone
Clock strikes-
A death knell,
For you are leaving.
We cling tight,
A last embrace-
Then your gone
With my stolen heart.
Leaving vacant lips,
Empty arms-
Now half a world away.

Leaving me without a friend

How can you say you want to be free of me
Now you say its over
And your walkin out my door
Tellin me youre going away for good
Never coming back and Ill never see you again

Just Passing Time
Passing time,
Time passes.
And longing for times past.
With no pastime,
I think of past times.
Times of joy.
Sorrowful times.
Layered.
Like an alluvial plain,
I am inundated, flooded.
As the past floods in
Passing by the inner eye
I time travel.
Bad thoughts by passed
Passed all thought
They pass away.
Pass into the past
To lie again quiescent
A timely demise
For times past.

On A Plateau Leaving
On a plateau leaving...
Are those who stood by to warn,
And 'suggest'...
Times to leave behind,
Limiting and upsetting pettiness...
Would overnight,
Be as useless as a waste of breath.
On a plateau leaving,
Are those who have achieved...
A higher consciousness.
And not one is looking to find,
Anyone from fading times...
Who did not have this addressed.
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Those who are commited to defeat and confine.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Those who are commited to defeat and confine.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.
Yes...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving behind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.

Sceptics Tongue
Fill the empty void with misery
And strangle frantic hopes.
An incarnation of bitter joy
Our last meeting so drear and cold.
The conflagration of your letters of love
Lie cold in the hearth now but ashes,
An immolation of my hopes,
Become rock dashed dreams
Upon the alter of sacrifice.
Can I survive or bear
A winter dark, long and drear.
Are stretched polar nights now my lot?
No my sceptics tongue longs to deny
Or fails acceptance of your loss.

Perfume Trail
Only memories shreds remain.
A tinge of scent,
A perfume trail,
A butterfly rustle
From watered silk.
An echo of her laughter,
A reverberated memory,
Where now silence heavy lies
And solemn shadows dwell.
Her things lie where dropped
Dust draped, abandoned,
Waiting vainly for her return.
The pots and powders
That were her beauty aids
Bereft, no more needed,
For she has gone;
To lie in her deep bed
In cool funereal earth.

Virgin Youth
Now and again
All my body springs alive,
And the life that is polarised in my eyes,
That quivers between my eyes and mouth,
Flies like a wild thing across my body,
Leaving my eyes half-empty, and clamorous,
Filling my still breasts with a flush and a flame,
Gathering the soft ripples below my breast
Into urgent, passionate waves,
And my soft, slumbering belly
Quivering awake with one impulse of desire,
Gathers itself fiercely together;
And my docile, fluent arms
Knotting themselves with wild strength
To clasp—what they have never clasped.
Then I tremble, and go trembling
Under the wild, strange tyranny of my body,
Till it has spent itself,
And the relentless nodality of my eyes reasserts itself,
Till the bursten flood of life ebbs back to my eyes,
Back from my beautiful, lonely body
Tired and unsatisfied.

You see so many artists who are so talented end up living sad, empty lives. This industry takes so much out of you that without the accountability and leaving God in the center, you can be left so empty and void.

Plaintive Night
The evening lay hot and sticky.
I lay wakeful, sleepless and fretful
Drowning in the sultry heat.
The sounds of eventide drifted in
To ooze across my open window.
As I listened with attentive ear,
Each errant sound was carried to my bed
By the winds gentle proposition.
She gently trembled silken curtains to rustle.
A disembodied voice in the plaintive night,
To bring the pungent scents of the frangipan.
The chitterings of playful cicadas
In deep dark velvet midnight.
Far off a murmured accompaniment
Brought soft and low across the turgid air.
The gently whispering sound of the sea.

Leavings Not Leaving
Title from anywhere but here
Starring susan sarandon
Sometimes a time comes along
When its time to, time to move on
Youll still be there in everything that I do
And wherever I go
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Moments shared there with you
Theyre the best times that I ever knew
Theyll still be there when godbyes are all though
Ill remember those days
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Ill hold on the memories
cause in my heart youll be here with me
Theres no reason to cry
Goddbye isnt really goodbye
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Not leaving you behind
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind

Oblivion
Living furious,
Our fireball existence
We rushthrough life,
ladder
the
up
Step
To
On the fast track.
Burn up,
We ignite a flash.
A bright conflagration,
A blaze of glory.
Then crash into oblivion.
And are no more,
Not even a memory.

Fallen Marker
A construct de-constructed
Scattered.
Demolished.
Marble carved words
Muddled now,
Muddied.
Problematic,
No translation,
An undecipherable code.
Soon the wind will blow
And the words will be dust.
Erased from memory.
Mixed in earth.
Lost.

When I Think About Leaving
You know some times me and my lady have these crazy fights and when we do it makes me wonder
Are we\'re ever gonna get it right
When I think about leaving I think about me
What my life would be like if I were back to being free
Go where I wanna go, do what I wanna do, wouldn\'t have a soul I had to answer to
When I think about leaving I think about me
You know I got a friend him and his wife just couldn\'t see eye to eye he had all he could
Stand one day and just packed up and said good-bye
When I think about leaving I think about him
That little apartment cross town he\'s living in
Got an old corvette, got a new girlfriend, but only sees his kids every other weekend
When I think about leaving oh I think about him
I never will forget her face or the day she told me about her dad, how he walked out on her
And her mom when she was just a kid
When I think about leaving oh I think about her
Only five years old and her heart filled up with hurt
With her little arms wrapped around his neck saying daddy where you going, are you coming
Back
When I think about leaving I think about her
You know the truth is, most of the time things were really great and I know we got something
Special
When I think about leaving I think about us
How we build this love we share on faith and trust, honest way we talk, tender way we touch,
All those nights we spent making love,
When I think about leaving oh I think about us
When I think about leaving I think again
Even though that thought crosses my mind every now and then
In my heart I know I would never leave, there\'s nowhere else on earth I would rather be
When I think about leaving I think again
When I think about leaving
When I think about leaving
When I think about leaving:I think again

Gonna Get Back Home Somehow
(words & music by doc pomus - mort shuman)
Hear that old train whistle
Howling in the night
If that flyers southbound
Everything will be all right
Im leaving now, leaving now, leaving now,
Im gonna get back home somehow
Dont nobody tell me
Babys been untrue
If shes been unfaithful
I dont know what Ill do
Im leaving now, leaving now, leaving now
Im gonna get back home somehow
Never thought that I could miss her so
I never thought I could , now I know
The sound of the old train whistle
Makes me want to cry
Reminds me of that lonely feeling
When I said goodbye
Im leaving now, leaving now, leaving now
Im gonna get back home somehow

War Dead
As the sun sets tremulous,
The carrion church wardens,
Shadowy paradoxes, stand sentinel.
The pale eyed dead look on silent
At this memorial to conflict.
These stark floral tributes;
Wreaths woven in blood red
These poppies of sacrifice,
To the slaughter of wars past.
They do not glorify war.....no,
But honour the long dead.

Art of Ending
Whether beautiful, whether painful
Whether happily ever after, whether full of irony
By force, or by the time
All should end someday
Leaving a hole, leaving a hope
Leaving a cliffhanger, leaving a continuity
Leaving a tragedy, leaving a legend
All could end like this
The journey, the life
The story, the love
The show, the dream
All will come to the end
Whether has been guessed, whether a joke of destiny
A desirable one, an unwanted found
From strongest living, to the smallest creature
All have their own end
Whether sudden, whether prolong
Whether completed, whether unfinished
Whether a relief, whether a torture
All must end here

The Heart Left
What happens when you feel
the heart is missing
out of something you once loved?
The entrails still linger
and everything is just an empty shell.
The family atmosphere
that once was there is gone
leaving you to feel like a stranger
with nothing to call home.
There are still faces,
but to you none has a name.
You can still remember the fun and smiles
of not so long ago
before the heart left
a body with an empty shell.
You wonder why it happened,
why everything went so wrong
leaving you to feel an outsider
in a place you once call a home.

Lasting Losses
Life
Lets nothing last.
Leaving souls to live
Like chalk drawings
Left out in the storm.
Lonely drops on
Lovely works;
Leaving only murky
Lakes of faded color where
Livelihood once took place.
Life vanishes where those
Lucid puddles lay...
...Leaving no pictures perfect
down Memory Lane.
