Theres no busness like love busness
Theres no busness I know
One day ya wanna hold on forever
The next you wanna let it go
Theres nothin shakin ll ke love makin
Theres nothinas long as it lasts
One day can be there forever
The next is a thing of the past
Now listen to this
I fell in love with a sweet little girl once
She was evrything a woman should be
Did evrything to find if she was wrong
But it seemed she loved only me
She gave me some pretty good things
Things I couldnt get from my own dear mother
I had to go way for just a few days
When I returned shed gone off with my brother
I was drivin and I didnt see it coming, no
Theres no busness like love busness
Theres no busness I know
One day ya wanna hold on forever
The next you wanna let it go
Once I knew this rich man
He treated hiswoman like a queen
He gave the woman evrything she needed
He kept her lookinso fine and clean
He had so much faith in her
His love he never had to check out
He had to go see a man about a dog one day
And when he got back he found shed shimmied out
I tried to tell you boy, you wouldnt listen to me
Theres no busness like love busness
Theres no busness I know
One day ya wanna hold on forever
The next you wanna let it go
Listen! there aint nothin shakin like love makin
There aint nothin as long as it lasts
One day you wanna hold on forever
The next is a thing of the past
La, da, da, da, da, da, ooh, whoo
La, da, da, da, da, da, ooh, whoo, whoo, whoo
La, da, da, da, da, da, ooh, whoo
Theres no busness like love busness
Theres no busness I know
One day ya wanna hold on forever
The next you wanna let it go
Listen! there aint nothin shakin like love makin
There aint nothin as long as it lasts
One day you wanna hold on forever
The next is a thing of the past

Kaw-liga
Hank williams
Kaw-liga was a wooden indian standing by the door
He fell in love with an indian maid over in the antique store
Kaw-liga just stood there and never let it show
So she could never answer yes or no
He always wore his sunday feathers and held a tomahawk
The maiden wore her beads and braids and hoped someday hed talk
Kaw-liga, too stubborn to ever show a sign
Because his heart was made of knotty pine
Poor old kaw-liga, he never got a kiss
Poor old kaw-liga, he dont know what he missed
Is it any wonder that his face is red?
Kaw-liga,that poor old wooden head
Kaw-liga was a lonely indian, never went nowhere
His heart was set on the indian maid with the coal black hair
Kaw-liga just stood there and never let it show
So she could never answer yes or no
Poor old kaw-liga, he never got a kiss
Poor old kaw-liga, he dont know what he missed
Is it any wonder that his face is red?
Kaw-liga,that poor old wooden head
Then one day a wealthy customer bought the indian maid
And took her oh so far away, but old kaw-liga stayed
Kaw-liga just stands there as lonely as can be
And wishes he was still an old pine tree
Poor old kaw-liga, he never got a kiss
Poor old kaw-liga, he dont know what he missed
Is it any wonder that his face is red?
Kaw-liga,that poor old wooden head
Kaw-liga, kaw-liga kaw-liga....

Indian Summer
The voices hanging in the air
The fingers running through my hair
You whisper in my ear, words Im afraid to hear
Youre sleeping on the wings of doves
Of melting in the heat of love
A voice that disappears, into the air
You said you found me, and never let me go, and until you do
No arms around me, to pull me away, away from you
Indian summer, I remember you
Indian summer, do you think of me too?
Like a moth to a flame, youre drawn to me with tender chains
You wrap me up so tight, and hold me all the night
Whos the stranger come and gone, statues crying in the lawn
The fountains frozen tears, bring back those years
Did you think you loved me, and do you want me now like you did back then
No moon above me, could make me feel this way, feel this way again
Indian summer, I remember you
Indian summer, do you think of me too?
Where do the seasons go when you let them slip away
Now the winds have changed from hot to cold today
Indian summer, indian summer, I remember you, where are you now
Ohhh, indian summer, I remember you
Indian summer, do you think of me, do you think of me too
Cause I remember you, indian summer

Ten Little Indians
Ten little indian boys
The first little indian gave squaw pretty feather
(little indian boy)
The second little indian made her an indian dollar
(fighting over a squaw)
Well the third little indian gave her moccasin leather
(little indian boy)
The squaw didnt like em at all
The fourth little indian took her riding in his big canoe
(little indian boy)
The fifth little indian took her down the waterfall
(fighting over a squaw)
The sixth little indian taught the squaw how to woo-woo
(little indian boy)
But the squaw didnt like em at all
One little, two little, three little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Four little, five little, six little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Seven little, eight little, nine little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Ten little indian boys
The seventh little indian took her over to his teepee
(little indian boy)
The eighth little indian tried to give her a love poem
(fighting over a squaw)
The ninth little indian said youre my kemosabe
(little indian boy)
The squaw didnt like em at all
The tenth little indian said it really didnt matter
(little indian boy)
He acted like himself and he didnt look at her
(fighting over a squaw)
The squaw didnt care if he never did a thing
(little indian boy)
Cause she loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy

Wild Flowers
Poor girl, no ma
Nothing much to speak of but a rough diamond
Sleep now and your angels will come, dear
Poor matilda
Handcuffed to the wheel
And steering wildly
Through love's fields, so blindly
Forever only takes its toll on some
But, tonight you're sleeping alone without him
Tonight you're sleeping alone without him
And everything went up in smoke like wildflowers
Wildflowers, dear
Poor girl, lonely
Shuffles through the parade
Of a sleepless circus serenade
Hold on, dear
Poor girl, no ma
Sister steals her a coat
For the windless breezes
Sleep now and jesus will come, dear
Forever only takes it's toll on some
But, tonight you're sleeping alone without him
Tonight you're sleeping alone without him
And everything went up in smoke like wild flowers
Wildflowers, dear

I was just very interested in the American frontier and the growth of capitalism - those enormous fortunes that were being made, more often than not, on the blood of poor people, black people, Indian people. They were the ones who paid very dearly for those great fortunes.

I Watch You Sleeping
This song appears on three albums, and was first released on the flower that shattered the stone album, and has also been released on the stonehaven sunrise and the john denver collection - take
Ome, country roads albums.
I watch you sleeping little angel face
And on behalf of the human race
Welcome to this crazy place
I watch you sleeping innocent and free
I dont know what your dreams may be
You dont know what you mean to me
You have never heard thunder
You have never seen the rain
But you can still feel the wonder
You can still feel the pain
And sometimes you look at me
So wise and so sure
I could easily believe you have been here before
I watch you sleeping little angel face
And on behalf of the human race
Welcome to this crazy place
I wont be here forever
But as long as Im around
I promise you I will never let you down
To help make a world you can feel worthy of
I will teach you to fly on the wings of my love
I watch you sleeping brave and unaware
You dont know yet so you dont care
I want you to know its hard out there
I watch you sleeping little angel face
And on behalf of the human race
Welcome to this crazy place
I watch you sleeping
I watch you sleeping
I watch you sleeping
I watch you sleeping
I watch you sleeping
I watch you sleeping

Think Back, O Indian!
O Indian, O Indian!
Why not you think awhile?
How came your freedom?
How came this soil?
How came your brothers?
Why do you toil?
What’s your heritage?
What’s your love?
What’s your advantage?
Just think it now.
O Indian, O Indian!
Why don’t you muse awhile?
What makes up India?
What are its states?
What are its rivers?
Who are your mates?
Whose blood in you flows?
Who are your neighbors?
Why fight with brothers?
Just think it now.
O Indian, O Indian!
Why not you brood awhile?
What are your dangers?
What integrates?
What are your misgivings?
How do you solve?
Where’s your heart now?
Where is your soul?
Where’s your peace of mind?
Just think it now.

Food for Everyone
Sellers of food have a huge price,
And they eat from them from advice.
The restaurant is a race for the food,
A beautiful place for the meat barbecued.
I like the eating to be done in a fantastic place,
Where I love the taste in my head, no disgrace.
Love anything but do not eat the forbidden fruit,
So horrid it is of the devil to say, but we must be astute.
It is poverty that hides the food from poor people,
It is not the poor people who taste a life admirable.
Sellers of food must be paid, and poor is the person
Who can not afford, so he can not eat, unless he is in heaven.
Heaven is a place for food and drink,
Drink I take and health I doublethink.
Heaven has a drink for me.

Holiday meals two
A woman in england is breeding mini pigs as pets
She might have some regrets.
My crabapples will have a mouth where to park
Pork so tender with meat white and dark.
Small indoor cookers will make such a come back
Mini chittilings will be just a new snack
Bagged al natural
Or bar-B-que flavored
Wont that be wild.
I like em hot
Some like em mild.
For a party of twenty
There will be plenty.
We will cook two or three
As directed.
The big bad wolf will be happy cause he has emphazima
Old Yeller could surley handle the rest.
Babe is at odds with no mini sheep to herd
So from him you will not even here one word.
Clinton upset cause not bred in Arkansas
But Hillary wants one real bad
To keep up with this latest pig fad.
Mini Razorback hogs
Will be the talk of the town.
We can train them like tunnel rats
To infiltrate Afganistans deep hidden caverns
For the pig is smarter than
Us drunkerds in most taverns.
Miss Nickelodeon
(jay wise)
Kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin
Lucky paul and his asian friend,
Smilin back from the place theyre in.
Heros mother hides in austin waitin for a loan
Preachers teachers boogie down in saigon,
Tryin to make it on their own.
Injun ladies with their cement hair,
Snub ulysses on the stair
I believe hes up there sellin kitchen wares,
Tryin to make it back to sweden.
Ah, kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin
Lucky paul and his asian friend,
Smilin back from the place theyre in.
Glad to see you on the mend,
Oh, miss nickelodeon,
Guess you got the stuff I could not send,
Roll it over again.
Trip in from 43,
A magic boy, his dog and me.
On a run to eternity
Not carin what its costin.
Oh, kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin
Lucky paul and his asian friend,
Smilin back from the place theyre in.
Oh, kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin
Lucky paul and his asian friend,
Smilin back from the place theyre in.
Oh, kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin
Lucky paul and his asian friend,
Smilin back from the place theyre in.
Oh, kinda like an indian beatin on his mandolin

One Might Laugh At This
One might laugh at this but it is not a joke
He thinks the 'Indian Myna' is about Indian Culture one must feel for the poor bloke
He does not know that the myna is a bird born with wings for to fly
That ignorance is bliss to him has to apply
His right to his opinions him none should deny
But why he comments on others one has to wonder why
Since he hasn't a clue what he's talking about
Of his lack of knowledge he doesn't leave one in doubt
Why he should think that an indian myna should have anything to do with Indian Culture seems perplexing to me
As knowledge goes he is one in poverty
I do honestly feel he should call it a day
By that I mean give writing comments away
He does show his ignorance by the comments he write
And his type not an asset to any poetry web site.

Great Grandma
Great Grandma married Great Grandpa
poor Irish girl and poor Indian man
Great Grandma
used to get beat by Great Grandpa's mom
Great Great Grandma
because Great Great Grandma only spoke an Indian
language and not English.
She got hit by a train.
Lots of us Indians got hit by trains in one way
or another, but this was
literal and not metaphor.

Peanut Butter Conspiracy
By: jimmy buffett
1973
Lookin back at my hard luck days
I really do have to laugh
Workin in a dive for twenty six dollars
Spendin it all on grass
We were hungry hard-luck heroes
Tryin just to stay alive
Wed go down to the corner grocery
This is how wed survive
Chorus:
Whos gonna steal the peanut butter
Ill get the can of sardines
Runnin up and down the aisle of the mini mart
Stickin food in our jeans
We never took more than we could eat
There was plenty left on the rack
We all swore if we ever got rich
We would pay the mini mart back
Yes sir! yes sir!
We would pay the mini mart back
It was a two man operation
Had it all down on a note
Ricky would watch that big round mirror
And Id fill up my coat
Then wed head for the check-out aisle
With a lemon and a bottle of beer
Into the car, got to make it on home
Suppertimes getting near
Chorus:
So whos gonna steal the peanut butter
Ill get the can of sardines
Runnin up and down the aisle of the mini mart
Stickin food in our jeans
Never took more than we could eat
There was plenty left on the rack
We all swore if we ever got rich
We would pay the mini mart back
Yes sir! yes sir!
We would pay the mini mart back
I guess every good picker has had some hard times
I sure had my share
Its really kinda funny to laugh at em now
But I dont want to go back there
So every now and then when Im in the grocery
Ill take a little but not much
cause you never know when those hard timesll hitcha
And I dont want to lose my touch
Chorus:
So whos gonna steal the peanut butter
Ill get the can of sardines
Runnin up and down the aisle of the mini mart
Stickin food in our jeans
We never took more than we could eat
There was plenty left on the rack
We all swore if we ever got rich
We would pay the mini mart back
Yes sir! yes sir!
We would pay the mini mart back
Yes sir, yes sir
We would pay the mini mart back

Indian Nations
There is something that I can not see
Why the UNITED STATES has broken
So many AMERICAN INDIAN treaties?
We should put our heads down in shame
For the AMERICAN INDIANS are
Not the ones to blame.
They have been fighting so long for their rights
And have made the ultimate sacrifice.
They have given their lives for this nation
And still do not see their salvation.
All other ethnic groups have
become free from oppression
And their Indian rights have been
left to the u.s. discretion.
Why are they still classified as wards
Of the government, and their lives
Are still below the poverty line?
Isn’t this the biggest sign!
That they are still discriminated against.
They live in one room houses and shacks
And the government has turned their backs.
No running water and no electricity.
Is this the way it’s got to be?
A family of four or more
Sleeping on a dirty floor.
They were once known as the Indian nations
Now it’s total devastation.
People all over the world have heard
How the west was won
That it was with the almighty gun.
They just hear the one sided story
Of how Custer rode to glory.
But not the sufferings that they
Put the Indians through
And all they had to endure.
And suffer the humiliation of defeat
And dropp down and scrounge for meat.

Vande Mataram
India, my native-place, is a land of spirituality,
A symbol of great culture and civilization,
Where a host of people visit to quench their thirst of knowledge,
And to learn a lesson of love, truth, non-violence, peace and purity,
I’m proud of being an Indian, a child of Mother-India:
Who shelters all—friend or enemy, and,
Always a source of devotion and inspiration,
And I'm proud to be an Indian,
Now my heart and mind shout 'Vande Mataram'.

Help The People
dear god,
help the people who are homeless
help the people who are poor
but most of all
help the people who are in the war
help the people of every color
and every shape and every size
also
help the people make choices that are wise
everyone should be treated fair
there sould be no violence
the world would be a better place
if there was just more silence
