Why Did You?
Why did you make me do it?
You know you led me on.
If you hadn’t started the way you did
I wouldn’t have that far gone.
Why did you insist?
You know my resistance is low.
If you hadn’t looked at me the way you did
it would’ve been easier to say no.
Why did you take advantage of me?
You knew that I’d give in.
If I hadn’t lost my voice just then
you would’ve heard my shouting.
Do you now regret for leading me on
and doing what we shouldn’t do?
Oh dear, you are giving me that look again,
and my voice is going too.
Are you thinking what I think you’re thinking?
Oh dear, I’ve got to go in a minute or two.
Well, if you insist in doing it again
I’ll try my best to resist you.
There you go you’ve done it again,
and I’m going to be late for my tea.
Tell me am I safe to put the kettle on,
or should I wait and see?

If Hadn't Got You
If I hadn't got you
If I hadn't got you
Whose friend would I be
If I lied all the time
If you never trusted my word
The love that we make
when feelings run high
Is all that makes sense in the world
And I can never go back, oh no
For a moment of sweet solitude
If I ever go back
I'd be looking for you
If I hadn't got you
Whose friend wouId I be
If I hadn't got you
I would die in solitary
If I hadn't got you
God only knows what I'd do
God only knows
Who's friend would I be if
I can't take a joke
If I can't pull a smile from a tear
The love that I feel
whenever you're close
Makes yesterday's hurt disappear
And I can never go back, oh no
For a moment of sweet solitude
With my head in my hands
I've been waiting for you
If I hadn't got you
Whose friend would I be
If I hadn't got you
I would die in solitary
If I hadn't got you
Whose air would I breathe
If I hadn't got you
God only knows what I'd do
God only knows
So don't turn away
Never go back
Hold onto love
Cos love is all we have
Maybe you'll be lost in this world
Without me
If I hadn't got you
Whose friend would I be
If I hadn't got you
I would die in misery
If I hadn't got you
Whose air would I breathe
If I hadn't got you, yeah
If I hadn't got you
God only knows what I'd do
God only knows

My mother gave me a push. If I hadn't had her, maybe I wouldn't have had the push. If I hadn't gone to military school, maybe I wouldn't have decided to get with the program. Maybe I'd be running a bulldozer, rather than going on and doing something more.

This is one of the factors that also made me very much want to make this film, apart from the fact that I loved it. If the boy hadn't been Jewish and the man hadn't been Muslim, it wouldn't have made any difference to the film. I don't think it's relevant, really.

Our managers hadn't had that kind of success - the record company hadn't, we hadn't - and the feeling was that the next record had to be even bigger, and if it wasn't it would be some kind of failure.

How Time Passed
I told you not to go, but you went anyway
You screamed I love you and I screamed it back
You said I’ll be back before I wake up
Right then and there I started to worry
Staying up all night crying my self to sleep
I heard a cry in the night, but it was just my child
Then a thought struck me he never said good bye
Why wouldn’t you say good night to your son?
In the middle of the night I prayed to god
“Please bring back my husband safely to his family.”
The sun finally rose and my husband hadn’t come home
I drove to his ex house, his mom, friends, and hide out
He was gone and no evidence was around
Fear was in my eyes as I looked at my child
I called all the investigators and police to find my love
They couldn’t find him and I started to cry
That same day I saw you on the news you lost your memory
I rushed down there and gave you a kiss and you said honey is dinner ready
I cried and laugh thinking god you’re still alive
I knew you didn’t disappear or leave us behind

I was starstruck and completely confused; making a film of this story hadn't even occurred to me, and I hadn't written a single line of the book yet. I had no idea how this man knew anything about my book proposal.

Perhaps It Is Your Smile
Even though the mix is familiar...
To you and me too!
It does seem as if the taste of it,
When revisited...
Is more enjoyed.
Have you done something to your hair?
Perhaps it is your smile,
I hadn't noticed as so bright...
Which makes what is tasted,
Again...
As you insist,
So delicious.

Jealousy [Gelozie]
If we hadn't met, my dame,
(By adventure, one fine day),
You, another guy, I say,
Would have loved and cared the same.
If I hadn't shown up, though,
You'd have given all for free,
To some stranger, not to me,
Your caresses that I know.
Maybe you'd have had a child,
Who have looked, poor wretched soul,
Like his father after all,
That birdbrain, so mean and wild.
But... we've had a nice romance
For we met that lovely day
And the fact I'm glad today, –
I would say it is by chance!

Pain Of Existence Without.....
It was pain of existence without your phone calls.....
This pain was not related to time, as time moved on.....
but the pain remained, pain and more pain....
without a phone call from you........
Time started moving, but there was no phone call, , , , , ,
I was lost with the acute awareness of this great pain.....
pain and more pain......
I wish I could tell you how much your phone calls mean to me, , , , ,
what if we have not met, what if we have not seen each other
but dear your phone call is what makes me pull through my day....
your voice is a magic to me, it is music to my ears....
but dear you never called.... and the pain remains...
The pain reminds me of the wonderful times we had....
the long phone calls.... your voice, your silence, , your moans
all this was so wonderful, which meant so much to me....
but dear you never called........
come back and call me dear...... and tell me how much I mean to you
call me once my love........
I wait for your magic voice, for all wonderful things you tell me....
for all the beautiful moments over phone we had.......
I wait with great pain, pain and pain.....
Just to hear you..... or get a message from you
Your messages are my breakfast, my dinner, , , ,
I sleep thinking of you hearing you, reading you...
I wake up to read your message..........
But dear you never called you never messaged....
come back just once my love come back
I just want to tell how much I miss your voice.............
To My Grown-up Daughter
I wish you hadn't grown up just yet.
Things were so much easier
when I could fight your dragons for you,
and you thought I was the smartest mom
in the whole wide world.
Back then, I could kiss away the hurt,
create the Tickle Monster to chase the blues,
and I understood your homework.
But you're a woman now,
grown up with a job of your own.
All I can do now is offer advice-
and hope you don't roll your eyes,
or give me that look.
You don't think I'm the smartest mom
in the whole wide world anymore.
Damn, I wish you hadn't grown up yet.

I Love You
But somehow, the sunlight hurt.
It hurt until my face was covered
with liquid happiness and tears.
And I looked across the river
and saw us.
And saw you kill me and take
your own life.
And I screamed.
Louder than my vocal chords can handle.
Like a freight train.
You were gone when you hadn't lived.
I was gone when I hadn't told you
all that I needed to say.
All that you needed to hear.

When You Wish
When you wish,
Be careful what you wish for.
When you wish.
Try hard not to be foolish.
When you wish,
No matter what it is.
You might get it.
And wish you hadn't wished.
So when you wish,
Be careful what you wish for.
When you wish.
Try hard not to be foolish.
When you wish,
No matter what it is.
You might get it.
And wish you hadn't wished.
Don't be the one to open doors you want left closed.
Because you wanted to be free of misery,
You wished would leave from you quickly.
Don't be the one who thinks by letting go to show.
A relationship of arguments,
Will not be ever missed.
'Cause when you wish that one to go,
That one you let go might be missed.
So when you wish,
Be careful what you wish for.
When you wish.
Try hard not to be foolish.
When you wish,
No matter what it is...
You might get it.
And wish you hadn't wished.
When you wish,
Be careful what you wish for.
When you wish.
Try hard not to be foolish.

And wish you hadn't wished.

Never-know-it-all and Know-it-all
I never knew what love was
When I hadn't loved at all.
Once I loved I knew it
And knew that I would always love
By never knowing all.
I knew what was love
When I hadn't loved at all,
Knew that when it came along
It didn't stand a chance
Because I knew it all.

0143 Coming to a Retirement Home near you...
Stop me if...
The story is,
The Queen visited our local
Old Folks' Home (well, it's called The Senior Enclave now...)
and walking along the wheelchair line, drawn up
like some parking lot along the promenade
but without the view
stopped at one old dear who looked
as if she hadn't quite got the point of this unwelcome
change to routine, and said
(in case the old darling regretted later
she'd missed the great occasion)
'Do you know who I am? '
'No dear - but ask the nurse,
she'll tell you...'

Physical For An Old Woman Picked Up Wandering
Between her legs
the doctor found a goatee
gray as city pigeons
flying through factory smoke
a goatee that hadn't been combed
that hadn't been kept
that quit in fangs
an inch above her knees

I Will Wait
There was a time
When all I thought that I wanted
Was someone to touch me
Like I thought everyone was touched
What did I know, what was I thinking
What did I know, what was I thinking
I remember
There was someone that I wanted
Now shes a face at the reunion of 66
What did she know, what was she thinking
And did she know that I convinced myself
I couldnt survive
Sometimes you have to wait
Youre pushing but that stone wont move
And you hesitate to give yourself away
There was a time
When all I thought that I needed
Was someone to tell me
I was making the perfect move
What did I know, what was I thinking
What did I know, what was I thinking
All I wanted was a holy exemption
I had a license to tell everyone
Where its at
What did they know, what were they thinking
And did they know that I would only hear
The things I desired
So I would wait
Im pushing but that stone wont move
And I hesitate to give myself away
And there was a time
When all I thought that I wanted
Was to live in a world
Where everyone knew what love is for
What do I know, what am I thinking
Nobody knows that the hour is getting late
So I will wait for it forever
I will wait for it
Though I know the hour is getting late
I will wait for it forever
I will wait for it
Though I know the hour is getting late

Kiss
She was beautiful and yet she was flawed,
Unaware of what her conscience was for,
There was evil in her eyes and her smile,
I wish I hadn't lived to tell the tale,
Everything was sweet till it turned bitter,
Putrid wounds started to burn and blister,
How can one resist such a siren song,
When I'm in her arms I feel like I'm known,
Lost in the moment till it all was lost,
Trapped in a horror weak and powerless,
I didn't have enough strength to resist,
There was a faint taste of blood in her kiss,
I was sure I was going to perish,
Helplessly trapped by her ruthless caress,
Broken and not fit to try to resist,
Shaken by the blood tasted in her kiss.
